- Chapter 20 - She Vomits When Touched by an Omega
Wei Qin hesitated for a long time before finally contacting Ji Zhiye’s assistant and going to Ji Zhiye’s residence.
The Ji family was based in Lan City; the house in City A was something Ji Zhiye had bought on a whim.
Even so, it was still a villa—just smaller than the one back home.
“Miss Wei is here to see you, Little Ji,” the assistant said, knocking at the door.
Ji Zhiye, who was deliberately playing the sick patient, lay in bed doing nothing. Hearing that Wei Qin had come to see her, she shot upright in shock and exclaimed, “Holy crap!”
She actually came!
When Wei Qin walked in, the room was faintly scented with perfume.
And Ji Zhiye—supposedly a patient—was lying in bed, her face delicately made up, pretending to be on her last breath.
Wei Qin: “…”
Ji Zhiye gave a weak cough. “Qin Qin… You really came to see me? I’m so touched… Feel free to sit, cough cough.”
“Ji Zhiye, you just got hit by something. You don’t have asthma—what’s with all the coughing?” Wei Qin crossed her arms coldly. She had initially felt a little guilty… until she saw this pathetic act.
This lying Alpha was fooling her again.
When Ji Zhiye realized Wei Qin had seen through her lack of injury, she suddenly regretted putting on makeup just to look less disheveled.
“But you… but you…”
“Save it,” Wei Qin said with a frown. “I need a favor.”
Ji Zhiye immediately nodded when she realized Wei Qin wasn’t going to make a fuss. “Just say it. If it’s something I can do, I’ll definitely help you.”
“I want you to investigate whether Yu Wenxi and Yan Run are truly in love. Did they get married out of affection or for some sort of alliance? I want the truth—use whatever methods you like.”
Ji Zhiye blinked. Even though she was filthy rich, investigating a high-profile couple in City A was no easy feat.
Wei Qin added lightly, “I don’t mind if you seduce Yu Wenxi. You’re so good-looking, I’m sure some Omegas would be into you.”
Ji Zhiye felt a pang of disappointment. “Apparently… there are quite a few.”
Wei Qin sat down gracefully, her expression suddenly soft and seductive. By chance, she happened to be sitting right at the head of Ji Zhiye’s bed, and the rose-scented perfume on her body faintly lingered in the air between them.
Ji Zhiye’s heart pounded uncontrollably.
“Zhiye, I know you care about me and want the best for me… but I’m really worried right now. Even though I beat Yu Wenxi and won Best Actress, she’s still incredibly popular with a huge fanbase. They keep attacking me—insulting, defaming, and tearing me down. You know all of this, and it’s made me resent her so much. Why is it so hard for me to find any leverage against her?”
She sighed dramatically. The frown on her beautiful face struck Ji Zhiye hard. And the way she said “Zhiye” — so familiar, so intimate.
Ji Zhiye instantly melted. She didn’t ask any more questions and nodded. “I said it already—whatever you want me to do, I’ll do it. Don’t worry. I’ll find something useful for you.”
Wei Qin smiled faintly. “Thanks.”
She was just bored and decided to push Ji Zhiye into pestering Yu Wenxi. The thought of her two least favorite women bothering each other was pretty amusing.
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now,” she said, picking up her purse.
Ji Zhiye pursed her lips. “You’re leaving already?”
“I have work.” Wei Qin said.
Without even glancing back at Ji Zhiye, she opened the door—only to come face-to-face with a male Alpha.
“Well, if it isn’t Miss Wei,” said Xiao Liangmu with a smirk. “Didn’t think you’d end up in a top heiress’s bed.”
Ji Zhiye frowned behind him. “Liangmu, don’t talk nonsense.”
Wei Qin knew exactly who he was—a second-gen rich brat, always stirring up trouble in bars. She absolutely despised this kind of lazy, arrogant loafer.
The powerful Xiao family empire would be ruined by this guy sooner or later.
She scoffed and walked around him without a word.
Xiao Liangmu watched her alluring figure for a while, then turned and grinned at Ji Zhiye. “So? How’s the Best Actress taste?”
Ji Zhiye glared at him. “Stop talking rubbish. We didn’t do anything. She just came to see me.”
“Tch.” Xiao Liangmu clicked his tongue. “You’re rich, you’re hot, and you still can’t land a little celebrity?”
Ji Zhiye sighed. “I want her heart. Just like you want your college crush’s.”
Despite being a playboy, Xiao Liangmu wasn’t a total jerk. He’d been chasing after his college classmate Liang Zhi for years.
“I’ll get her eventually,” he said with a smile.

Ji Zhiye thought back to what Wei Qin had said: seduce Yu Wenxi.
Though emotionally clueless and occasionally childish, she wasn’t stupid. Seducing a married woman on camera? That’s a one-way ticket to the trending tab—and not in a good way.
If her father found out, she’d be kicked out of City A for sure.
So she shifted her attention to Yan Run.
Lately, Yan Run had noticed an Alpha following her around more and more.
They’d only spoken a few times before, but suddenly, Ji Zhiye was showing up everywhere—eating meals with her, cooking in the same kitchen, and even chatting late into the night.
It made Yu Wenxi curious.
“You’re always glued to your phone. How many people are messaging you anyway?” she muttered one night, appearing in a long obsidian silk robe.
Startled, Yan Run quickly locked her phone. “It’s Ji Zhiye.”
“Oh? Discussing business deals?”
Their families were big corporations—a partnership would be beneficial.
But Yan Run shook her head. “No. She asks if I liked today’s meal, offers to take me out, and even checks in when I cough. It’s weird—we barely know each other.”
Yu Wenxi paused, brows furrowed in confusion. “She actually said that?”
“Yeah.” Yan Run pulled out her phone. “Want to see?”
Yu Wenxi nodded and took the phone. Sure enough, Ji Zhiye had messaged her just as Yan Run described. Thankfully, Yan Run had been polite and turned down all outings.
While still talking, Yu Wenxi sneakily scrolled through her contacts.
It was petty, but she couldn’t help herself. Her possessiveness got the better of her.
To her surprise, Ji Zhiye’s messages to Omegas were few—mostly relatives or business contacts. None of the infamous “hotel night” types were there.
She casually flipped to the top screen. Aside from chats with Ji Zhiye’s family, the next name down was her own.
Saved simply as: Yu Wenxi.
Yu Wenxi handed the phone back.
“Making connections here isn’t a bad thing. Ji Zhiye is the Ji family heiress. If the Yan family partnered with the Ji family, it would be a strong alliance. I think you two could become friends.”
Yan Run nodded. “I understand.”
Still, she couldn’t understand why someone as indifferent as Ji Zhiye, who didn’t care about most people, was suddenly so chatty with her.
But her wife knew.

The next evening, Yan Run agreed to go out with Ji Zhiye.
Ji Zhiye took her to a high-end bar.
Yan Run immediately recognized the setting—it was where business deals happened. Drink, chat, seal a contract.
But Ji Zhiye had no intention of discussing business. They simply drank and talked casually.
Just as they entered, an Omega with a curvy figure and heavy makeup appeared. The Omega giggled seductively, “Miss Yan, you finally came to see me! After you deleted my WeChat, I’ve been thinking about you day and night!”
Ji Zhiye raised an eyebrow.
Yan Run frowned. “I don’t know you.” She had no memory of this Omega at all—likely due to her amnesia.
But the Omega wouldn’t accept that. She reached out to grab Yan Run’s hand. “You said I was your favorite Omega—don’t you remember?”
As her hand neared, Yan Run instinctively flinched away—catching a faint whiff of the Omega’s pheromones.
Her stomach turned violently.
She bolted into the restroom and threw up.
The smug Omega was stunned.
“Miss Yan, what’s wrong? Why are you vomiting?” she cried out.
“Don’t come near me!” Yan Run shouted, eyes wide. The Omega backed off in fear.
Ji Zhiye, having seen everything, was genuinely curious. Hands in her pockets, she asked, “Do you two actually know each other?”
“I don’t know.” Yan Run genuinely couldn’t remember. But she knew one thing—she never wanted to see that Omega again.
“What’s wrong with your body?” Ji Zhiye changed the subject. The scene might’ve been useful dirt—but she’d forgotten to record it.
“I’m fine. I just… throw up when I touch an Omega,” Yan Run blurted. Realizing what she’d said, she quickly shut her mouth.
“Oh?” Ji Zhiye smirked. She vomits when touched by an Omega?
Then what about Yu Wenxi?
“Except my wife,” Yan Run clarified quickly.
Ji Zhiye looked doubtful.
But thinking about it—they had kissed on camera once… Maybe Yan Run just held it in.
She didn’t push further and led her into a private booth to drink and chat.
But as they walked down the hallway, someone suddenly blocked their way.
The person’s eyes lit up upon seeing Yan Run. Their voice trembled.
“Yan Run, stop right there!”
