- Chapter 4 - Only I Can Touch You… You Don’t Even Think About Touching Me!
The door was opened by He Yunzhi and the Omega housekeeper, Xun Mo.
And what they saw was quite a scene: Yu Wenxi leaned in intimately, gently adjusting Yan Run’s long hair and collar. Their bodies were close, her soft fingers brushing against Yan Run’s neck.
Yu Wenxi’s gaze was tender, her voice low and caring—just like a devoted wife tending to her spouse.
Xun Mo blushed and took a step back. She’d never seen the cold and arrogant eldest lady lean on an Alpha before—it felt strangely out of character. He Yunzhi, however, only smiled faintly, as if she’d seen this all before.
Of course, Yan Run was not doing well.
She hated such close physical contact. It made her nauseous.
If it wasn’t for He Yunzhi being present, she would’ve shoved Yu Wenxi away already.
Yu Wenxi blinked innocently, feigning shyness. “Grandma, what brings you here?”
He Yunzhi replied with a light smile, “I just wanted to have a chat with you, but seeing you two like this… I won’t interrupt.”
Yu Wenxi cozied up to Yan Run’s shoulder, soft and clingy like a kitten.
Yan Run couldn’t help but shiver.
She had a strange feeling somewhere in her body…
Once He Yunzhi left, Yan Run immediately pulled her hand away from Yu Wenxi.
Yu Wenxi’s expression shifted slightly. She looked at Yan Run with a curious glint in her eye. “Yan Run, weren’t you always very handsy with me before? What, did you lose your memory and your pervy habits?”
Yan Run froze. Me? Handsy with her? Impossible!
“I wasn’t,” the Alpha retorted firmly.
Yu Wenxi remained indifferent, clearly skeptical, her lips curling into a faint, sarcastic smile.
Yan Run heard her respond with a casual, “Oh.”
It felt like she was being insulted. Yan Run sighed and decided to be honest. “Whatever I was like before, I think I’ve changed. I just… I don’t handle intimacy well now.”
There was a flicker of annoyance in Yu Wenxi’s cool gaze. Of course she’d assume Yan Run was rejecting her.
The explanation only made her want to laugh.
She twirled a lock of her curled hair, her eyes sparkling mischievously like a cunning little fox.
“Oh? Is that so?” Yu Wenxi said.
“Please believe me,” Yan Run said sincerely.
“But we’re getting married soon,” Yu Wenxi countered, tone flirtatious. “Isn’t it normal to be close? Honestly, being allowed to get close to me is your blessing!”
Yan Run looked up at her. She could tell Yu Wenxi was upset.
“Then let’s keep the affection public only, okay? Just… nothing too intimate,” she offered with a helpless look. Compared to Yu Wenxi’s icy beauty, she looked rather innocent.
Yu Wenxi didn’t reply immediately.
Then she finally said coolly, “Fine. But let me make one thing clear—only I get to touch you. You? Don’t even think about touching me!”
Before she knew it, Yan Run had been kicked out of the room.
As she stood outside reflecting, Yan Run realized… this Omega wasn’t that gentle after all.

The next morning, Yan Run set an alarm for 8 a.m.
The Yu family was known for rising early, and 8 was the perfect time—not too early to be impolite, not too late to seem lazy.
But just as she finished freshening up, someone knocked on the door.
She opened it to find Yu Wenxi standing there in a creamy long dress, her curled hair draped lazily over her shoulders—an image of grace and gentleness.
Yan Run rubbed her eyes. “You’re up already?”
Yu Wenxi smiled calmly. “Breakfast is ready. I came to get you.”
Yan Run’s eyes widened. “You guys eat this early?”
Yu Wenxi clasped her hands behind her back and replied plainly, “We’re used to it.”
The breakfast table was modest but delicate, reminiscent of Cantonese-style dim sum.
Yu Huanzhu was focused on reading the newspaper. Yu Qingyue and Luo Wenting had already eaten a little and left for work.
Yan Run ate slowly and silently. Despite Huanzhu reading, he still peeled an orange beside him, removing every bit of white fiber before passing the segments to He Yunzhi.
Noticing this, Yan Run peeled a boiled egg and handed it to Yu Wenxi.
At the same time, Yu Wenxi had just peeled a smooth, white egg and placed it in Yan Run’s bowl.
They looked at each other, each with an egg peeled for the other.
Yu Wenxi giggled. “I don’t really like boiled eggs.”
Yan Run blinked and silently made a mental note. After all, they had to keep up appearances for the elders.
Yu Wenxi helpfully placed a small dish of soy sauce by her side.
“Dip it in. It’ll taste better.”
Yan Run glanced at her. Yu Wenxi rested her cheek on her hand and raised an eyebrow at her, looking for all the world like a woman gazing lovingly at her beloved. Her eyes sparkled, full of tender affection.
Yan Run froze, internally sighing: She really is an actress!
Flustered, she shoved the egg into her mouth and immediately started choking.
Yu Wenxi gasped in surprise and gently patted her back, handing her a glass of water while laughing softly. “You’re so cute.”
Yan Run: “…”
She couldn’t handle how considerate Yu Wenxi was. All she wanted was to dig a hole and hide.
But Yu Wenxi wasn’t done. With both elders watching, she peeled another egg for her.
“Eat a little more, okay?”
Yan Run: “…”
She wanted to say she didn’t like boiled eggs either.
She stared stiffly at the sly-smiling Omega, then at the two beaming elders.
God help her. Should she refuse or not?
Yu Wenxi raised her brows. “Not eating?”
The implication was clear: like it or not, you’re eating it!
Yan Run trembled and swallowed it down. At that moment, she felt the brush of soft fingers at her lips. A snowy-white hand held a napkin, gently wiping away some stray sauce.
Yu Wenxi looked regretful. “You messy little thing, let me clean you up.”
Messy little thing?!
Yan Run was stunned, while He Yunzhi and Yu Huanzhu chuckled, clearly enjoying this display of affection.
Yan Run: “…Okay, now this counts as PDA, right?”
Oddly enough, she wasn’t as averse as she was the night before. In fact, being pampered by such a gorgeous woman almost felt… like an honor.
He Yunzhi smiled. “When do you two plan to register the marriage?”
Yu Huanzhu chimed in, “We’ve picked an auspicious date. Three days from now.”
Yan Run said awkwardly, “I should discuss it with my family first…”
Yu Huanzhu: “Already done. Your parents agreed immediately.”
Yan Run: That was fast!
“I’ll defer to Wenxi then.”
Yu Wenxi smiled sweetly. “I completely agree… I’m so happy we’re registering so soon.”
She turned to Yan Run, gaze full of affection and warmth.
Yan Run forced a smile, cold sweat trickling down her back. She thought it might happen soon—but this soon?
Oh well. A promise is a promise.

After breakfast, Yu Wenxi prepared to attend the Golden Deer Awards. She had her eye on the Best Actress trophy and, although she usually appeared calm, was visibly a little nervous.
Since Yan Run had no other plans, she was dragged along to walk the red carpet.
She was startled. No way!
She looked to the elders for help.
But He Yunzhi and Yu Huanzhu smiled. “What kind of wife doesn’t accompany her wife on the red carpet?”
Yan Run: “…”
So much for help. She had no choice.
In the car, they sat side by side—but with a noticeable gap between them.
The driver, sent by Huanzhu, glanced in the rearview mirror at Yu Wenxi’s indifferent expression, sensing something off.
Yu Wenxi, aware of his presence, suddenly smiled sweetly.
“Baby, I can’t believe we’re getting married so soon.”
Yan Run gave a nervous laugh, wiping cold sweat from her forehead. “Yeah… me neither.”
Sensing her unease, Yu Wenxi pulled out her phone.
“You can play some games. I need to talk to my manager.”
In reality, she texted:
Yu Wenxi: Can you act a little better? You look like you’re headed to your execution.
Yan Run: How was I supposed to know it would be this fast?!
Yu Wenxi: It was bound to happen eventually. What, are you afraid I’ll eat you alive?
Yan Run: Honestly… a little bit, yeah.
Yan Run: Also, I really don’t want to walk the red carpet. Please don’t make me.
Yu Wenxi: I won’t force you. It’s not like I’ll win Best Actress anyway. Taking you would just embarrass me more—my fans are already tearing you apart online.
Yan Run: …Do your fans actually think you like me?
Yu Wenxi: Even if I liked someone, it wouldn’t be you.
Yan Run: Well, I wouldn’t like you either!
—
They arrived at a tall building surrounded by a crowd of fans waiting to catch a glimpse of the stars. Yu Wenxi’s fan base was particularly massive.
Yan Run had no choice but to follow her through the VIP entrance.
Some sharp-eyed fans recognized Yan Run and began shouting. Weibo erupted into chaos.
Yu Wenxi followed Liu Zhaoli into the makeup room.
Yan Run waited with assistant Tang Ming in a nearby lounge.
Yu Wenxi had warned her: Tang Ming was sent by Yu Qingyue, so she had to behave—sit quietly and act obedient.
When Yu Wenxi entered, she glanced back and teased, “So well-behaved.”
Yan Run shivered.
Just then, a sharp voice rang out from the hallway: “Yu Wenxi’s here? I booked this makeup room first!”
Yan Run frowned.
The door burst open, revealing a glamorous actress with voluminous curls.
Wei Qin tossed her purse down and pointed at the door. “I booked this makeup room. I want it.”
Tang Ming stepped up. “Sorry, Miss Wei. You arrived late. It’s first come, first served—what gives you the right?”
Yan Run recognized her instantly. Wei Qin—the breakout actress of the year.
Her film Li Wenjun in 1983 had outperformed Yu Wenxi’s, and she’d won Best Actress. Though she wasn’t as popular, her achievements far surpassed Yu Wenxi’s.
With her privileged background, fiery temper, and recent award win, she had been put on a pedestal. There was no way she’d let someone else take her room.
She snarled, “I said I wanted it, so it’s mine! Anyone can take it—except Yu Wenxi!”
Her aura was overwhelming. Even Tang Ming was too intimidated to respond.
But then a calm voice spoke up: “It’s first come, first served. You didn’t pay in advance—why should we save it for you?”
Wei Qin looked over and finally realized—this calm, refined Alpha was none other than Yan Run.
She smirked. “Oh, I thought you looked familiar. Isn’t this the second daughter of the Yan family—the one who got flamed so badly by fans she didn’t dare leave the house?”
Yan Run was stunned. Her past self got flamed that badly?
Wei Qin sneered. “I thought Yu Wenxi would have better taste… guess she’s just blind.”
Yan Run didn’t back down. “Yu Wenxi liking me isn’t about taste—it’s just that I shamelessly chased her down. But you, Miss Wei… with your temper and childish tantrums, I doubt any Alpha would dare even talk to you.”
Wei Qin snapped, “You’re an Alpha yourself. Why are you bullying an Omega?!”
Before she could say more, a cold Alpha voice cut her off—
