- Chapter 7 - So, How Do You Alphas Handle Your Needs?
Tang Ming brought them disposable bathrobes. Though single-use, the material was soft and comfortable.
Combined with the plush bed of the five-star hotel, Yan Run felt drowsy the moment she lay down.
But with an Omega beside her, she had no choice but to lie on her side, keeping a respectable distance.
To her surprise, Yu Wenxi also turned to her side, mirroring her.
Then she heard her whisper, “Have you really sworn off desire? I heard Alphas are wild and can’t usually suppress it.”
Yan Run replied, “I don’t have any such thoughts at the moment.”
Yu Wenxi pressed further, “So how do Alphas deal with their… physiological needs?”
Yan Run shrugged, “I don’t remember.” She really didn’t. Nor did she feel the urge to figure it out yet.
Yu Wenxi teased, “Even if you don’t remember, you should at least know how, unless… you’re not actually an Alpha anymore? Don’t tell me you’ve re-differentiated into an Omega?!”
Yan Run: “…”
“Or maybe my fans are right—maybe you’re infertile?” Yu Wenxi said.
Yan Run: “…”
“Just go to sleep,” Yan Run finally said.
Yu Wenxi chuckled softly. “Okay.”
Having someone both unfamiliar and oddly familiar sleeping next to her made it hard for Yan Run to drift off. She could hear the faint sound of Yu Wenxi’s breathing behind her.
So Omegas don’t snore? she mused.
Something seemed to pull Yan Run toward her, an invisible force drawing her to turn and look. When she did, she saw Yu Wenxi’s peaceful face, free of any snoring.
She lay back down.
Suddenly, a soft sound woke her again.
She turned to the source and leaned in, only then catching the murmured words:
“Ah Yue… Ah Yue…”
Ah Yue? The name was slurred, hard to catch, but Yan Run could make it out.
Was that a person’s name?
She recalled how, in dramas, when the heroine falls unconscious, she always mutters the name of the one she loves. Dream-talking, shaped by longing.
Yan Run’s chest tightened. So Yu Wenxi liked someone. Did that mean their marriage was cheating this Ah Yue?
She frowned. Not that she liked Yu Wenxi or cared who she dated. As long as the Yan family name stayed clean, that was all that mattered.
With that thought, she turned back around.
But as she closed her eyes, she still found herself wondering: who was this Ah Yue that Yu Wenxi liked?
Eventually, Yan Run fell asleep. She had to admit, there was something about Yu Wenxi’s quiet presence—or perhaps her voice—that was strangely alluring. It stirred the Alpha’s instincts, urging her forward…
Morning light filtered softly through the curtains, waking Yan Run.
She stretched with a quiet groan, catlike, then reached for the other side of the bed out of habit.
She thought she was in her own bed at home—until a soft voice asked, “You’re awake?”
Yan Run’s eyes flew open. “Ahh!”
Yu Wenxi calmly reached over and covered her mouth. “Why are you yelling so loud?”
Yan Run blinked and saw that Yu Wenxi was already fully dressed.
Yu Wenxi tilted her head and chuckled. “You were pretty restless in your sleep last night.”
“Huh? I—What did I do?” Yan Run stammered.
Instead of answering, Yu Wenxi pointed to Yan Run’s chest and said, “Search your heart.”
Yan Run: “?”
Yu Wenxi’s lips curled into a playful smile, her expression hovering between teasing and sincerity.
“So… did I touch something I shouldn’t have?” Yan Run asked.
Blushing, Yu Wenxi leaned closer and whispered, “Something you don’t have.”
Yan Run paused to think. Something she didn’t have? Wait—aside from a smaller chest than Yu Wenxi’s, what was she missing?!

The first day of the romance reality show had arrived.
Seeing her name trending with endless hate on Weibo, Yan Run slumped silently on the couch. Ever since losing her memory, she felt like she’d been drifting, manipulated by invisible hands.
Not only was it the first day—it was also the first livestream.
That meant her every move would be scrutinized by countless netizens, any slip-up met with a storm of backlash.
Yu Wenxi was still getting her makeup done, supported by a professional team who had also arranged a few stylists for Yan Run.
Half-dazed, Yan Run was whisked into makeup and dressed in a classically elegant suit, complete with gold-rimmed glasses—like an actor prepping for a role.
Several makeup artists nearby looked on in surprise. Miss Yan looked stunning. No wonder Yu Wenxi had fallen for her.
“Not bad. You really are good-looking. I bet a lot of haters are going to change their minds.”
The romance show was filmed live.
Tens of millions of viewers tuned in, making this a daunting experience for someone like Yan Run, who had never appeared on a dating show.
Yu Wenxi offered a few words of comfort.
Yan Run glanced at her. She already knew she was attractive—so she just returned a silly smile.
But Yu Wenxi seemed unusually serious.
She had just received some unexpected news. A non-celebrity who was supposed to join the show had abruptly backed out. The production team scrambled to find a replacement.
In the end, a public figure volunteered: Wei Qin, the actress who had recently beaten Yu Wenxi for Best Actress.
Yu Wenxi’s eyes narrowed. Was Wei Qin here for her… or just chasing clout?
This wasn’t your average romance show. The cast included three Alpha-Omega-Beta couples—and two same-s3x married couples.
One pair was the long-time influencer couple: male Alpha Yu Chen and male Omega Xu Zhaozhao, who had been together for six years and were famously devoted.
The other was Yu Wenxi and Yan Run—the contract-married pair.
The couples were sent to a romantic town on the outskirts, where the directors had arranged a large villa to house all ten participants.
Before the livestream began, Director Hu Ye pulled Yan Run aside for a talk.
Since the Yan family owned Menghua Video—the platform producing the show—most of the staff worked for them. Clearly, this meeting had a purpose.
“Boss Yan was quite upset about the Second Miss’s earlier actions. To protect your reputation, she decided to invite both you and the Second Lady to join the show and help clean up your image,” Hu Ye explained, handing a few scripts to Yan Run. “Since it’s a live broadcast format, Boss Yan felt this approach would let the audience see that the Second Miss isn’t the kind of person they imagined. Still, to prevent anything from going off script, we’ve designed several character profiles for you. Please take a look, Second Miss.”
He handed Yan Run several character scripts. “Because this is a livestream, there’s no editing. But we’ve prepared a range of personas for you—please take a look.”
Yan Run opened the folders:
“Pretty and Sweet Alpha”: Gorgeous, loves to act cute, adored like a kitten by her Omega wife.
Yan Run: “…”
“Domineering CEO”: Intense possessiveness, fond of surprise kisses, never lets Omega lift a finger. Catchphrase: “Woman, you’ve messed with the wrong person.”
Yan Run: “…….”
“Soft-Spoken Flirt Who’s Actually a Deep Romantic”: Charming sweet talker, shy in public but incredibly devoted to her Omega in private.
Yan Run: “……”
What kind of clichés were these? They all screamed Mary Sue fantasy.
So cringe!
“I think I’ll just be myself,” she said, tossing the scripts aside.
Hu Ye sighed dramatically behind her. “But Second Miss, the internet already hates you like a dog—how are you supposed to survive this?”
Soon, the livestream went live.
The comment section was instantly flooded with praise for Yu Wenxi:
[Aaaah! Long time no see, Xixi! You’ve been filming nonstop—I’ve missed you so much. She’s just getting more and more beautiful.]
[She’s even got that elegant wife vibe now!]
[Hey! Don’t get carried away! As long as they don’t have kids, they’re not really married in my book!]
[Relax, no way they have kids. We all know what Second Dog is like. I doubt she could produce one anyway.]
[Wait, who’s that hot Alpha next to her?]
[Girl, are you blind? That’s Yan Run—Second Dog!]
Yu Wenxi’s fans had nicknamed Yan Run “Second Dog” because she was second-born and, well, they thought she acted like a dog.
[Whoa, those glasses make her look super refined!]
[Doesn’t matter—still a dog wagging her tail for Xixi in my eyes!]
Oblivious to the insults flying in the chat, Yan Run sat nervously in the car. She feared the producers would make them act intimately on camera.
Yu Wenxi, however, looked unbothered, happily touching up her makeup. Yan Run glanced at her and wondered—would the person she liked be watching this? Would he be hurt?
When they arrived at the villa, Yu Wenxi linked arms with Yan Run as they walked in.
The comment section flooded with compliments—until the camera panned to Yan Run, and the insults resumed.
“Wow, can’t believe we’re on a show with such a big star,” gushed the other couple, Yu Chen and Xu Zhaozhao, as they came to greet them.
Yan Run stood quietly, listening, when she suddenly heard Yu Wenxi laugh and say, “My little cub really spoils me—she’s always buying me—”
[Cub?!]
[She called her cub?!]
[No way. I don’t believe it. Must be staged. This is a political marriage!]
[True. This is a dating show—they have to act affectionate.]
[But I’m so jealous. I wanna strangle Second Dog right now!]
Even Yan Run was shocked.
When did she go from stinky brat to cub?!
Yu Chen and Xu Zhaozhao exchanged amused glances. “Newlyweds really are something else. Even your nicknames are blush-worthy. So, Miss Yan, what do you usually call Miss Yu?”
Crap. The question was aimed at Yan Run.
There seems to a part missing from either the end of ch 8 or the start of ch 9
Yan Run was asked a question at the end of 8, but it’s skipped and different people at talking at the start of 9
Hello. I’m really sorry about the mix-up — I mistakenly labeled Chapter 7 as Chapter 8 and left out the actual Chapter 8. It’s all fixed now. Thank you so much for reading!
