- Chapter 15 - During the Agreement, You Belong to Me
Pei Jiuyao lifted the box and took a step forward, nodding slightly. “We…”
“We met at the bar a few days ago.”
Pei Jiuyao narrowed her eyes, recognizing the person as the Omega who was always by Chu Si’s side.
How did Song Mo know someone like that?
She asked, “Are you with Chu Si?”
As expected, the person nodded. Song Mo’s expression showed a flicker of discomfort.
She turned to leave.
Chi Yang quickly blocked her path. “You and Chu Si? Did she do this to you?”
The Omega beside Song Mo giggled behind her hand. “What do you mean ‘did this’? This is just…”
Chi Yang’s face darkened, her gaze sharp like a blade. “Who said you could speak?”
The Omega fell silent, looking wronged.
“Xiao Mo, what the hell is going on!” Chi Yang’s voice was ice-cold and terrifying.
Only now did Pei Jiuyao realize—Chi Yang definitely had a dark side waiting to break free.
Song Mo was clearly frightened. She trembled slightly, trying hard to mask her unease and said quietly, “I’m with Chu Si, so what?”
“Do you even know what kind of person Chu Si is?!”
“Do you know what kind of person Pei Jiuyao is?!”
They froze, staring at each other. Twenty years of friendship shattered in just a few lines.
“Chi Yang, I don’t care who you’re with—so don’t try to control me either.”
Song Mo rolled up her sleeve with a smile. “Chu Si likes this sort of thing, so I’m just playing along. Besides that, she treats me really well. It’s just part of our fun, so let it be.”
“Xiao Mo…” Chi Yang’s eyes turned red in an instant.
“I just don’t want you to get hurt.”
“But I’m really happy right now.” Song Mo pulled her hand back, eyes shining with tears, yet still smiling. “Let’s respect each other’s choices, okay?”
She gave Chi Yang a long look—deep, unreadable—then took the Omega next to her and walked away.
Chi Yang instinctively took two steps forward, lips parting slightly, but no words came out.
From the building to the car, Chi Yang didn’t speak a word, her expression cold as frost.
Once seated in the front passenger seat, she angrily yanked the seatbelt and clicked it into place—neat and sharp, radiating an aura that screamed don’t mess with me.
Pei Jiuyao knew this anger wasn’t aimed at Song Mo.
It had to be directed at Chu Si—which, by extension, also meant her.
She pursed her lips, sitting in the driver’s seat without starting the car. After waiting a few minutes, she asked softly, “Should I take you home?”
“You knew about Xiao Mo all along?”
Pei Jiuyao rubbed her nose. “Of course not. If I knew, I would’ve told you.”
“Didn’t you just say you met a few days ago?” Chi Yang turned to her.
Pei Jiuyao was about to ask “met who?” when she remembered the Omega.
Then it hit her—Chi Yang was asking in a roundabout way:
So you’ve been fooling around with Chu Si again, huh?
As expected, Chi Yang raised her eyes and said coldly, “During our agreement, you belong to me. You’re not allowed to touch any other Omegas. Remember that?”
“Of course—” Pei Jiuyao answered.
“That includes other Alphas.” Chi Yang cut her off.
To Pei Jiuyao, Alpha or Omega didn’t make much difference.
But that sudden “you belong to me”…
Her brow twitched involuntarily.
She probably meant my marked one, right?
Pei Jiuyao quickly explained, “I went to see Chu Si to find out what happened that night between us. It just so happened I ran into that Omega. I truly didn’t know anything about Song Mo.”
Chi Yang’s expression remained glacial, like a mountain frozen for ten thousand years, leaking icy air into the car.
“I swear, I would never lie to you.” Pei Jiuyao looked at her earnestly, gaze clear and sincere.
Chi Yang stared for a long moment. Seeing no trace of deception in her eyes, she finally gave a cold “hmph” and turned away.
“You know exactly what kind of person Chu Si is. ‘Mutual feelings’? Please.”
She sneered. “I bet Chu Si used some dirty trick to fool her.”
Her gaze shifted back to Pei Jiuyao. “Didn’t you two use to be really close?”
Pei Jiuyao gripped her phone tightly.
She did know what kind of person Chu Si really was. And she didn’t want someone like Song Mo—so naïve and pure—getting devoured.
She dialed Chu Si’s number.
The call connected almost immediately with a cheerful voice and blaring music in the background.
“Xiao Pei baby, what made you think of calling me?”
Chi Yang’s brow twitched almost imperceptibly.
Pei Jiuyao shot her a glance and barked into the phone, “Be serious.”
“What do you mean ‘be serious’? Honestly, I’ve been missing you like crazy. Last time at the bar, you looked even more gorgeous than usual. I can’t stop thinking about—”
Chi Yang’s expression turned murderous.
Pei Jiuyao cut her off. “Enough. Don’t you like Omegas? Stop acting.”
Chu Si’s voice held a tinge of dissatisfaction. “Why so mean?”
Pei Jiuyao went straight to the point: “Is Song Mo with you?”
Chu Si chuckled. “Why? You still like her?”
Pei Jiuyao cursed herself silently. She really shouldn’t have made this call in front of Chi Yang.
She just wanted to clear things up, and now it was all spiraling out of control.
“Did you hurt Song Mo?”
Chu Si scoffed. “Why? Here to accuse me? You know I’m into this. Besides, it’s all consensual…”
“Chu Si, I’m warning you,” Pei Jiuyao gritted out. “Don’t use your tricks on Song Mo. She’s not like you.”
“Oh, I know. That’s why she’s perfect for me.” Chu Si replied teasingly.
“I’m nothing like you,” Pei Jiuyao bit out. “Have you been targeting her this whole time? Was it you who drugged me that night?”
“Of course not. I will never drug you. But yeah… I still haven’t found out who did.”
Chi Yang’s fingers slowly curled into fists, her breathing heavy.
Pei Jiuyao lowered her voice, harsh and cold. “Chu Si, stay away from Song Mo. If you like her, treat her properly. But if you hurt her again—I won’t let it slide.”
She hung up.
Chi Yang stared blankly out the windshield, face stone cold.
Before Pei Jiuyao could say anything, she turned to her with a twisted, mocking smile.
Chills ran down Pei Jiuyao’s spine.
“Xiao Pei baby?”
“Drugged?”
“It had nothing to do with me,” Pei Jiuyao whispered.
She really should’ve made that call in private.
Chi Yang clenched her jaw slightly. “Pei Jiuyao, house always wins, huh?”
It took a second for Pei Jiuyao to realize what she meant by that.
“Wait… but Chu Si likes Omegas—”
“Even if none of that was your fault, Chu Si did say one thing right.” Chi Yang’s voice was flat and cold. “You and her are the same.”
She unbuckled her seatbelt and slammed the car door behind her.
Pei Jiuyao blinked, scrambled after her, and grabbed her arm. “Where are you going?”
“You go. I’ll have my assistant pick me up.” Chi Yang wrapped her coat tightly, pulling out her phone to make a call.
Pei Jiuyao grew anxious. “Why don’t I take you home? What if paparazzi or fans see you—”
“I’ll wait here. If they see me, so be it.” Chi Yang clearly didn’t want to talk to her. “This is the VIP exit—no one really comes through here.”
“Then wait in the car?”
Pei Jiuyao was at a loss. She couldn’t tell what exactly set Chi Yang off…
Xiao Pei baby? House always wins?
Or maybe—it was You belong to me?
Was it possessiveness? But why would Chi Yang be possessive of her—
If she didn’t have feelings, she wouldn’t be treating her like private property, right?
Pei Jiuyao tilted her head and glanced at her.
Chi Yang’s icy glare shot back instantly, making direct contact.
Pei Jiuyao quickly looked away, sighing helplessly. She moved next to Chi Yang and gently nudged her.
“Then I’ll wait with you.”
She prayed her likability score wasn’t back to zero.
Chi Yang didn’t move away, letting her stand beside her.
They stood in silence. Fifteen minutes later, Chi Yang’s assistant, Ye Ci, arrived to pick her up.
Pei Jiuyao stood there for a long time after they left before finally letting out a long breath and returning to the car.
She should not have called Chu Si in front of Chi Yang.
Xiao Pei baby, seriously? To hell with that.
She’d told Chi Yang she was cutting ties with her past. Then not only was she found meeting Chu Si, she got called “baby” in front of her.
It all sounded… way too personal.
And if Chi Yang remembered that she’d reeked of smoke when they met up—
God, would she think she’d just been with some Omega and then came over to mark her?
Given how angry Chi Yang had been… she might just believe it.
She was doomed. Her image in Chi Yang’s mind was in freefall.
Pei Jiuyao pulled out her phone and sent Chi Yang a long, detailed explanation—but still felt unsettled.
She tossed her phone onto the passenger seat. It clattered to the floor. She sighed and picked it up again.
Her hand landed on the still-warm leather seat.

[Wuyou Village]
Chu Si tossed her phone aside and took the grapes an Omega had just peeled for her.
“Was that Sister Xiao Pei?”
Chu Si rolled the grape on her tongue and smirked. “She said she would never let me off. Looks like our little Pei’s getting better at acting.”
“Spending every day with someone as fake-righteous as Chi Yang—no wonder she’s turning against you, President Chu.”
Chu Si sneered and pinched the Omega’s waist, earning a squeal.
The door creaked open.
“You’re back?” Chu Si pushed her short hair back, sitting up to look at the door.
Song Mo entered with a cold “Mm.”
“You all, leave.” Chu Si slapped the Omega beside her on the butt affectionately.
After the Omegas left, Chu Si walked up, lifting Song Mo’s chin with her finger—only to get slapped away.
Chu Si snorted. “Fiery, aren’t you?”
“I told you—if you sleep with me, don’t touch other Omegas.”
“Oh? Think I’m dirty? Then go find your precious Chi Yang.”
Chu Si circled her and suddenly exclaimed, “Oh, I almost forgot. Your Chi Yang’s been completely bewitched by my little Pei lately. She doesn’t have time for you.”
“You…” Song Mo’s eyes reddened.
“What? What?” Chu Si lifted her chin again. “I’m in the mood.”
“I’m still hurt,” Song Mo said, turning her head away.
“You’ll just get new ones anyway.” Chu Si grabbed her wrist and pulled her inside. Song Mo winced from the pain.
Chu Si cursed under her breath—so dramatic—and dragged her in without care.
Soon, the room echoed with painful gasps… which slowly turned into heavy breathing.

When Song Mo got home, night had already fallen.
She listlessly turned on the living room light. “Mom?”
The house was empty.
She knew no one was there, but she called out anyway.
She wanted to whine about how badly she’d been hurt, wanted her mom to comfort her, wanted her cooking.
But the whole place felt like a tomb.
She closed the door behind her. The air inside slowly thinned, and her body felt like it was sinking into the ground.
Would hell be down there?
She was suffocating.
She slumped onto the couch and called her mother.
After several rings, her mom finally picked up. Laughter and noise came through the line.
“Xiao Mo, home already?” Her mom found a quiet spot. “Since you weren’t around, I took your sister out.”
She sounded apologetic.
“Aunt Liu took the day off, so there’s no food. Do you want to come—”
“I already ate,” Song Mo sniffled. “Just wanted to let you know I’m home.”
There was a pause.
“Then get some rest, sweetie. Your sister and I will be out a while longer.”
“Mm.” Song Mo hung up.
The villa was as silent as ever. Pitch black inside—only the streetlamp outside shone.
She stepped out and sat under the light.
Her phone buzzed.
A message from Chu Si.
Song Mo resisted the urge to smash it and opened it.
[I remember you liked this brand?]
Attached was a picture of a ring.
[Bought it for you before. Forgot to give it to you. Come get it sometime.]
Her fingers trembled as she typed:
[Your things disgust me.]
Thirty seconds later, another reply:
[I picked it just for you.]
[Don’t forget to apply medicine. Don’t want you scarring.]
