“Miss! No one’s home at the Qin residence! I’ve been ringing the doorbell for ages but no one’s answering!”
Li Suimei propped her chin up on her hands, swinging her legs as she sat on the car roof. Her cheeks were flushed from the sun, and she stared blankly at the Qin Bay Manor surrounded by lush greenery.
The driver waved from a distance, “Miss—”
Li Suimei remained dazed. She still had a bandage on her forehead, her eyes were watery, and she stood out against the hot wind, looking frail and pitifully endearing.
The driver’s heart skipped a beat. Miss had been acting so strange lately. According to the maid who cleaned her room, Li Suimei had been mumbling to herself. She had scattered torn pieces of paper all over the room, handwritten drafts that she would scribble out and tear up. No one knew what was wrong with her, but it started happening after that unpleasant incident with Young Master Qin.
In just a week, Li Suimei had not only stopped smiling but had also lost a lot of weight.
The doctor couldn’t find anything wrong with her, so the Madam said it was lovesickness. Who knew if it was true…
Li Suimei stood up and brushed away the strands of hair that had stuck to her ear from sweat.
Her black hair was tied into a ponytail, swaying behind her. She was only 20 years old, and although a week had passed since Li Suimei had transmigrated, the baby fat on her cheeks had faded, and now, under the sun, her nose and the corners of her eyes were tinged with red, making her look soft and delicate, with a sorrowful expression.
On the 2nd floor balcony of the Qin residence, Liu Ruoxi was looking through a telescope. She had met the Li family girl before and thought she was pretty. Now, she looked even better. Her small face and slender arms made her heart flutter. Although her personality was a bit arrogant, her face was undeniably flawless!
Liu Ruoxi stared, then thought that those almond-shaped eyes were so watery, it could melt even a heart of stone.
She muttered, “I wonder what Huaiyan is thinking? Why won’t she let this girl in?”
Grandma Qin, who was reading a newspaper, pushed up her gold-rimmed glasses and said, “They’ve already announced the broken engagement in the newspaper. You’re not embarrassed, but I am!”
Liu Ruoxi replied, “I think it’s your grandson’s fault. A grown man, and he runs away after a fight. And then he gets caught on camera! Now his own sister has to clean up his mess?”
Grandma Qin was displeased that her beloved grandson was being criticized. She smoothed out the newspaper and slapped it on the coffee table, then stood up to look through the telescope. “Let me see!”
Although Grandma Qin was elderly, she was still sharp and had good eyesight. She stared through the telescope for a while, then asked, “…Is that the Li family girl?”
Liu Ruoxi nodded.
Grandma Qin said, “Hmm, she’s pretty.”
“…Judging by her expression, is she here to reconcile with Zhan’er?”
“I think so!”

Li Suimei was unaware of the observations from the shadows. She had been transmigrating for a week. A week ago, the original character had argued with the male lead and accidentally hit her head, causing her death. The body was then given to her, a reader from the real world.
Li Suimei was an ordinary girl in her previous life. When she read books, she only found them enjoyable, and she also disliked Li Suimei, the villain with the same name. At first, she felt a bit disgusted, but since the female supporting character didn’t have many scenes, she endured it. Unexpectedly, she woke up one day and became the despised villain in the book!
As a villain, the original character had nothing but good looks and a wealthy family background. Her main purpose in the book was to serve as a foil, and no matter how beautiful she was, as long as she wasn’t the female protagonist, she was just a supporting green leaf. The more beautiful she was, the more ruthless the author would be in portraying her, and the more tragic her contrast with the female protagonist would be later.
The book repeatedly described her as a green tea bitch, saying that she had a spoiled personality and was two-faced. She looked down on the male protagonist because of his poor health but pretended to care about him. She had many suitors but was too arrogant and thought no one was good enough for her.
When she was about to lose the male lead, a strange sense of possessiveness and the impending bankruptcy of the Li family forced her to beg Qin Zhan for an engagement, which not only slapped the original character in the face but also pushed the story to a climax.
The female supporting character’s existence was to create misunderstandings between the male and female leads, create opportunities and conflicts, and deepen the feelings between the protagonists.
In the end, Li Suimei completed her role as a supporting character and didn’t have a good ending.
After transmigrating, Li Suimei spent a few days in a daze before she gathered her thoughts. She was also curious about her own appearance and looked in the mirror. She found that her face looked like a delicate tea bud that had just been watered by the spring rain, so tender that it would leave obvious marks if pinched.
She had an oval face, almond-shaped eyes, and an innocent expression, but her appearance was quite alluring. Her skin and figure were perfect, but her personality was lacking, and she was just a brainless beauty, completely different from the fresh and pure female protagonist.
The driver walked back from the gate a few steps away and asked: “Miss, is the Qin family trying to intimidate us?”
Whether they were or not, it was strange that such a large house had no one to answer the door after so much ringing.
Hesitating for a moment, Li Suimei began to back down. She mumbled, “Maybe we should just go home?”
“……..”
The driver fell silent. The madam had told him before they left that he couldn’t return to the Li residence until he saw Miss inside the Qin residence.
Li Suimei sighed and stood up, patting the nonexistent dust off her legs.
The driver was panting and wiped his brow, saying to Li Suimei, “Miss, why don’t you get back in the car?”
It was a scorching July day, and even a normal person couldn’t stand the heat, let alone Li Suimei. She had been standing in the sun for only 10 minutes and was already sunburned pink.
“No need.”
The driver took out an umbrella from the car and said, “Miss, the sun is strong. You should use this.”
Li Suimei still shook her head.
The driver: “……”
Since the Miss didn’t want to get back in the car, he could only stand outside and bask in the sun with her.
The rumors were indeed true. She was unwilling to return to the car even after being sunburned like this, just to be the first to meet Qin Zhan. The Miss must still have feelings for the young master of the Qin family!
The driver was quite excited. The Qin family had a good family background and status, and Qin Zhan was also a handsome man. He thought they were a good match. If only Li Suimei wasn’t so willful, perhaps…
The person on the car roof jumped down and opened the car door with a sheepish expression, “It is a bit hot.”
“……”
The car window rolled up, and Li Suimei’s heart was unsettled. She twisted her fingers together and looked at the rearview mirror with some worry.
In the rearview mirror was a long road connecting to the scenic avenue outside the villa area. A rising barrier blocked Li Suimei’s car from entering the private villa area of Qin Bay. From where she got out of the car to the gate, there was still two kilometers to go to the main entrance of the Qin residence. There was a pavilion nearby, which seemed to be prepared for the security guards, but Li Suimei had been there for nearly an hour, and besides herself and the driver, she hadn’t seen a single figure.
Qin Bay occupied a large area and was home to only the Qin family. This place was not far from the city center, and it took only 40 minutes to drive there without traffic. It was quiet and secluded, and the land must have been very expensive.
As Li Suimei sighed for the fifteenth time about how rich the Qin family was, how she couldn’t afford to offend them, and how bold the original character had been, the driver stretched his neck, quickly got out of the car, listened intently, and shouted, “Miss! A car is coming!”
Li Suimei hurriedly pushed open the car door, patted her face, and then clasped her hands in front of her.
She watched the approaching car like a hostess, and as it got closer, Li Suimei felt her breathing become more and more difficult.
Seeing Li Suimei’s nervousness, the driver comforted her, “Miss, Young Master Qin likes you so much. You just need to apologize.”
Li Suimei nodded absentmindedly, and to prevent herself from fainting, she pinched her thigh hard.
A clear red mark appeared where she had twisted her leg in her hot pants.
The driver pursed his lips, his eyes filled with confusion. Why hadn’t he seen Li Suimei so nervous around Qin Zhan before?
The car drew nearer, and Li Suimei gazed out the front window, her eyes downcast as she glanced sideways at the driver’s seat.
It was a man…
The car stopped, and soon the other door opened. Qin Zhan stepped out, his gaze fixed on Li Suimei. “Meimei…”
Li Suimei looked apologetic. “Qin Zhan… I’m sorry, I…”
The driver said, “Young Master Qin! Our Miss has been standing in the sun for 3 hours! Finally, you’re here!”
Qin Zhan clenched his fist and walked around the car towards Li Suimei.
Li Suimei stood obediently, head bowed, her gaze glancing at the tightly closed car window.
“Qin Zhan, who did you go out with…”
Li Suimei asked softly.
Qin Zhan was startled. “No one…”
Qin Qing wasn’t there!
Li Suimei breathed a sigh of relief, instantly feeling relaxed. Her expression became more lively, and she took the time to examine the young man in front of her. She thought, as expected of the male lead in a cheesy novel, Qin Zhan was handsome and slender, with a top-notch appearance and family background.
Qin Zhan smiled, “Meimei, you came to find me?”
The driver answered first, “Yes! Young Master Qin, why don’t we go inside and talk?”
Li Suimei hummed in agreement.
Qin Zhan took Li Suimei’s hand, “Meimei, you…”
Li Suimei shook off Qin Zhan’s hand and suddenly changed her expression. “Qin Zhan, I came to you…”
Li Suimei scratched her head, pressed her lips together, and looked at Qin Zhan with a hint of guilt, “I’m sorry.”
She didn’t say anything else, but her tone and body language clearly showed her rejection of Qin Zhan.
The driver: “???”
Qin Zhan froze.
Li Suimei said, “Let’s go.”
Qin Zhan’s eyes were unclear, but Li Suimei knew he would let her in.
He smiled wryly, “Okay, come with me.”
Seeing them leave, Li Suimei immediately rubbed her cheeks and smiled wryly at the driver, “How was my acting?”
“…….”
The driver didn’t speak, and Li Suimei turned her head to see the middle-aged man staring at her with a constipated expression.
The car window on the side had lowered at some point, and Li Suimei glanced at it, not daring to turn around.
Li Suimei: “……”
“Acting?”
A low chuckle came from behind.
“Acting what?”
T/N: By the way, use these characters to portray Li Suimei and Qin Qing.
