Chapter 3: The Demon Queen Was Instantly Defeated by the Original Female Lead (Attacker)
“System, is this Dragon Head Mountain from the book?”
System: Yes, Host.
In the story, four major sects exist: Qingyang Sect, Yunfeng Sect, Jiuxuan Sect, and Baicao Sect.
Each sect guards a different region—Yunfeng Sect is located at the spine of Dragon Vein Mountain, Jiuxuan Sect at its heart, Baicao Sect at its tail, and Qingyang Sect at the head, which is where **Mo Huaishu (the attacker)** resides in the original novel.
“She went in that direction? Why is she heading there?” Just as Ye Lingxi was wondering, on the other side…
“Master.” A young disciple greeted Mo Huaishu with a respectful fist salute.
Mo Huaishu waved her hand lightly, narrowing her eyes as she surveyed the shattered Snake Pit and the scattered bones.
“Master, bad news! Someone has entered Dragon Head Mountain.”
Upon hearing this, Mo Huaishu sensed trouble. “Follow me to Dragon Head Mountain!”
“Yes!”
A dozen disciples responded in unison.
At Dragon Head Mountain, Ye Lingxi was painstakingly climbing up. Just as she was about to reach the top, she spotted the original female lead from the book. She instinctively shrank back, avoiding detection.
“What the hell? Why is she here?”
System: Unknown.
The two figures faced off, and Mo Huaishu spoke first. “Who are you? Why have you trespassed into Dragon Head Mountain?” Her righteous aura and cold goddess-like demeanor were absolutely formidable.
Ye Lingxi couldn’t help but recall a song: “Being invincible is so lonely”.
Ji Fuyu, however, didn’t even acknowledge her.
“Wow, no wonder she’s the original female lead—she’s ridiculously cool.” Ye Lingxi gazed at her in admiration.
System: Host, whose side are you on?
Ye Lingxi snapped back to reality. “I got too caught up watching and forgot the important part.” She continued observing secretly, eager to see the outcome.
Ji Fuyu seemed to be searching for something, completely ignoring Mo Huaishu’s words.
“She’s ignoring her? Are they going to fight?” Ye Lingxi watched anxiously.
Ji Fuyu’s gaze was fixed on a black heavy sword embedded in the center of a statue.
Ye Lingxi recognized the statue—it was the ancient god Mingyue, commemorating the deity’s victory over a demon queen. In the original novel, this place was built to honor Mingyue’s triumph, and the four sects were established to suppress the demon queen.
The book barely mentioned this, as the demon queen never actually appeared.
Then, Ji Fuyu pulled out the heavy sword.
Everyone present was stunned—including Ye Lingxi. “She… she pulled it out! That massive sword—she pulled it out!”
System: That’s not the main point.
No way—she was the demon queen?! How did she wake up? What was going on? In the original novel, she was never introduced, had no name, and was only mentioned once as “demon queen.”
Mo Huaishu summoned her celestial sword, Ritang Sword a paired lover’s sword with the original protagonist (receiver). It had a broad blade and a sun-shaped guard, radiating brilliance.
“The Ritang Sword! It looks even more stunning in reality.”
System: …
The other disciples also drew their swords and charging at Ji Fuyu, but with a single swing of her Longyuan Sword, she effortlessly knocked them back.
Only Mo Huaishu remained unharmed—truly worthy of being the female lead.
Wait… Ye Lingxi realized she was cheering for the wrong side.
She whispered, “Go, demon queen! Go, demon queen!”
System:…
Now, only Mo Huaishu and Ji Fuyu remained in battle.
Ji Fuyu launched a fierce attack, but Mo Huaishu dodged and countered swiftly. Ji Fuyu wasn’t one to back down—she kicked Mo Huaishu away.
However, the shackles on Ji Fuyu’s wrists hindered her movements. Mo Huaishu smirked, feigned an attack, then grabbed the shackles and slammed Ji Fuyu into the ground.
The impact was brutal—the rocky ground caved in.
Mo Huaishu flashed forward, her Ritang Sword plunging straight down. Ji Fuyu’s eyes widened—she swung her shackles forcefully, but Mo Huaishu blocked the attack, deflecting the impact downward. She anchored her sword into the ground, absorbing the force.
Ji Fuyu glared at the statue of Mingyue, its lifelike beauty standing before them. She sneered, “Mingyue, you truly have remarkable descendants. But no matter how powerful they are, they can’t surpass my Longyuan Sword.”
She swung her heavy sword, and it turned crimson, blazing like fire.
“Die!” She raised both hands, but suddenly, her body grew heavier, as if an invisible force was pressing down on her.
The invisible force emanated from the statue.
“You don’t even have a physical form anymore, and you still think you can trap me? No way!” Ji Fuyu struggled against the immense pressure. “Ha! Mere pressure won’t stop me.”
As she forced herself to stand, Mo Huaishu struck with lightning speed, her sword piercing Ji Fuyu’s heart. Bl00d gushed out, splattering onto the Ritang Sword.
As Ji Fuyu’s body began to fade, she glared at the statue, using the last of her strength to swing her Longyuan Sword and shatter it.
Mo Huaishu was thrown back, crashing into the wall.
Ji Fuyu let out a final scream, disappearing along with the shattered statue fragments.
Ye Lingxi was blasted to the side by the blinding white light. A golden mist seeped into her body.
The light gradually faded.
Mo Huaishu opened her eyes—the demon queen was gone. Only the heavy sword remained, its crimson glow slowly dimming. She ordered her disciples to take the sword away and leave.
When Ye Lingxi regained consciousness, it was already night. She held her head, sitting up. “It’s over?”
System: Yes.
“What? I didn’t even get to see the whole fight—it’s already over?”
System: You already asked. Yes, it’s over.
Ye Lingxi stood up, realizing she had been lying at the cave entrance. They hadn’t noticed her?
Well, she was just a minor character, after all. With so many disciples, how could they possibly recognize her?
Exhausted, Ye Lingxi entered the cave, scanning the area. The battle traces were barely visible.
Just as she was about to sit down and rest, she noticed something shiny near the half-destroyed statue. “What’s that?”
She walked over and found a worn-out sword.
“A sword?” She picked it up, brushing off the dust. It looked like a rusted, discarded blade, with a broken edge—a chunk missing from the middle.
The sword’s sheath was as hard as black rock, impossible to remove. “Alright, this is just an ugly, useless sword.” Just as she was about to toss it away in disdain, the system suddenly appeared.
System:Congratulations, Host, you have obtained a sword.
Ye Lingxi: “…”
“I picked it up, I saw it—it’s just a broken sword. What do I need it for? It’s not even usable.” She waved it around, mocking the system’s tone. “Congratulations, Host, you have obtained a sword.”
System: …
Ye Lingxi sighed. “I really didn’t expect that the person I was clinging to for survival would get KO’d by the female lead.” She scratched her head in frustration. “Ahhh! What do I do now? There’s no one left to rely on, how am I supposed to survive?”
System: You still have me.
Ye Lingxi froze in disbelief. “…Thanks, I guess.”
System: You’re welcome.
She picked up the broken sword and left Dragon Head Mountain’s cave, grumbling as she walked. “What do you think I should do next?”
System: That’s up to you.
Ye Lingxi: “…”
“You useless system, I swear you’re going to be the death of me.” She trudged down the mountain steps. “How long is this going to take?”
Climbing up had already been exhausting, and now she had to descend in the dark, no less. She wasn’t paying attention and slipped.
She tumbled down, landing flat on the ground. She didn’t want to move anymore. Staring at the bright, twinkling stars, Ye Lingxi thought it was worth it. She hadn’t seen such a clear sky in her own world for a long time.
“System, do you think I can survive until the final chapter?”
System: Don’t worry, you have me.
Ye Lingxi rolled her eyes. “You? I’d rather rely on myself. You always fail me at critical moments, you’re completely unreliable.”
System:…
“Just let it all end!” Ye Lingxi gave up on everything.
System: Destruction invalid.
Ye Lingxi: “…”
A gust of wind blew past, and a red feather landed on her nose. She picked it up, it had a reflective black sheen. She immediately sat up, staring at it. “This is…?” A realization struck her. “Is this the demon queen’s earring?”
System:Yes.
She examined it for a moment and sighed. “Well, we did cross paths, so I’ll keep it.” She fastened it to her waist.
“Let’s go.” Ye Lingxi stood up and continued down the mountain. “I really didn’t expect the demon queen to be defeated so quickly. That was completely unexpected.”
System:Me neither.
By the time Ye Lingxi reached the bottom, she decided to head to the county for rest. She didn’t dare stay near Dragon Head Mountain any longer after what happened during the day, Mo Huaishu would definitely send people to investigate the Snake Pit.
She found an inn and used her only jade pendant as collateral. It was standard for Qingyang Sect disciples, everyone received one upon initiation.
It worked, and she had no issues.
Ye Lingxi enjoyed a peaceful night’s rest at the inn. While bathing, she noticed that the feather was glowing. Speaking of glowing, she suddenly remembered a golden mist had entered her body earlier. She touched her forehead, deep in thought.
“System, do you know what that was?”
System: Sorry, I currently have no relevant information.
Ye Lingxi picked up the feather beside her. “I knew you’d say that. As long as it doesn’t harm me, it’s fine.” She twirled the feather in her fingers, admiring it.
She couldn’t explain why, but Ji Fuyu’s face kept appearing in her mind. Maybe it was because she had been introduced as the demon queen only to be instantly defeated by the female lead. It felt too unrealistic, completely absurd.
Even if Mo Huaishu was strong, she shouldn’t have been able to defeat her so easily. If that were the case, what was the point of Mingyue, the ancient god?
Mingyue was a deity, after all. Even if Mo Huaishu was the female lead, she shouldn’t be stronger than a god.
She was only at the Golden Core stage. Although she would eventually show signs of ascending to godhood, the author never wrote that part.
Her thoughts spiraled. She picked up the broken sword beside her and unsheathing it. “Broken is broken, but it’s so thin. The demon queen’s sword was several times larger than this.”
System Notification: Her sword is a heavy sword. Yours is a long sword—they are naturally different.
“Thanks for the explanation.” Ye Lingxi continued to dislike her sword.
The next day, Ye Lingxi refined the long sword, polishing it until it looked much better. She even attached a sword tassel.
“Does it look good?”
System: Host, did you just attach Ji Fuyu’s earring to your sword?
“Yes.” Ye Lingxi grinned proudly. “Doesn’t it look good?”
System: It looks great.
Ye Lingxi laughed smugly. “I knew it.”
She hadn’t expected herself to have such a talent. She swung the sword a few times to test its feel. “Not bad.”
System: Host, when will you start your survival routine?
Ye Lingxi replied, “Isn’t that exactly what I’ve been doing?”
System: …
Ye Lingxi planned to go out and explore, looking for anything useful. “Don’t worry, the author chose me. I won’t let you down.”
System: …
“Oh, right! System, have you ever had other users before?” Ye Lingxi had wanted to ask this for a while.
System: No.
Ye Lingxi nodded. “No wonder you’re so inexperienced.”
System: …
“If I die, will the other me die too?”
System: No.
Ye Lingxi’s interest piqued. “What? No? That’s amazing!”
System: It will keep repeating.
Ye Lingxi: “…”
“Damn it! Don’t make me think I’m lucky, only to crush my hopes at the last second.” Ye Lingxi grumbled in frustration.
