“I’m done. What kind of spell did that little bastard cast on Shen Hanzhi to make her so protective?” Wen Xin said, unable to hold back after walking a distance from the store, cursing loudly.

“Who would’ve thought our little sister had some tricks? She’s got Shen Hanzhi wrapped around her finger. But it’s just for now. Wait and see. Shen Hanzhi’s surrounded by Omegas like flies. None of them last more than a month with her. Soon, Wen Jin will be tossed aside like a rag doll left in the corner,” Wen Kai said with a cold laugh.

“It pisses me off. I really want to ask that little bastard if she’s like her mother, seducing people. Back then, didn’t Dad get seduced by her mother while he was away? That’s how we got Wen Jin, the little bastard,” Wen Xin said, her face red with anger, fists clenching as if she wanted to tear Wen Jin apart.

“No need to get so mad. Wen Jin won’t be smug for long. She can’t read, doesn’t know how to use a phone or TV, and cries all the time. Shen Hanzhi will get fed up soon. Maybe when they visit, Shen Hanzhi will show her true colors,” Wen Kai said confidently. After all, someone like Shen Hanzhi, a high-ranking Alpha, had limited patience. She might find Wen Jin cute at first, but too much of anything gets old, especially since Wen Kai, also an Alpha, knew their fickle and cold nature well.

When the little girl came out and saw Wen Xin and Wen Kai had left, she let out a sigh of relief. Though she now had Sister, seeing them still made her instinctively afraid, a reaction ingrained over a decade.

Shen Hanzhi saw the little girl emerge, her expression softening. She looked at the clothes the little girl had changed into. With her fair skin, the pure black dress made her glow. Shen Hanzhi nodded slightly and praised, “Our Little Jin looks good in anything. Black suits your skin tone well.”

The little girl’s ears warmed at Shen Hanzhi’s compliment, easing some of the fear from seeing Wen Kai and Wen Xin. She looked at the pile of clothes beside Shen Hanzhi, blinked, and quickly stepped to her side, grabbing her wrist and shaking it, “Sister, do we need to buy so much? Won’t it cost a lot?”

Though she hadn’t left Rose Manor, she knew money was important. Aunt Liu’s family had little money; her earnings at Rose Manor barely covered her daughter’s tuition and daily expenses. Wen Jin knew earning money was hard.

Sister had already bought her so much today, and Wen Jin worried she was spending too much of Sister’s money.

Shen Hanzhi smiled at the little girl and gently touched her dimple, “It’s not a lot of money. I earn money to spend on my Little Jin. Don’t worry about saving it.”

Afraid the clothes, unwashed, might be uncomfortable, Shen Hanzhi added, “Go change out of that dress. We’ll have Aunt Yang wash them before you wear them, or they might irritate you.”

“Okay,” the little girl nodded, feeling a tingly sensation in her dimple. She loved Sister being close to her.

While the little girl changed, Shen Hanzhi had the shop assistants pack the clothes and arrange delivery.

A few minutes later, the little girl came out. Shen Hanzhi beckoned to her with a smile, “Come on, let’s look around some more and get you a phone.”

Seeing Shen Hanzhi’s gesture, Wen Jin happily ran to her side, “Sister, is it the thing you use all the time? I saw Aunt Liu use one before. You can talk into it.”

“Yes, that’s it. I’ll teach you how to use it when we get back,” Shen Hanzhi said, leading the little girl to the top floor’s electronics section. She bought her a phone, a new laptop, and set up a phone number for her.

Seeing Wen Jin seemed tired from shopping all afternoon, Shen Hanzhi carried the bags with the laptop and phone in one hand and held the little girl’s hand with the other, “Tired? Let’s go eat. We’ll eat out today.”

“Okay, I’ll listen to Sister,” the little girl said, smiling at Shen Hanzhi, her eyes bright. She had walked a lot that afternoon, but her heart felt light.

Yesterday, during the wedding, she had been nervous, and even last night, she felt uneasy in the new environment without Aunt Liu. But in just one day, Wen Jin couldn’t believe how much she already relied on Sister. With Sister by her side, she felt fearless.

As Shen Hanzhi led her toward the elevator, she noticed the little girl staring at an ice cream in a child’s hand nearby. Shen Hanzhi chuckled, pinched the little girl’s palm, and asked softly, “Want one?”

Caught staring, the little girl blushed and quickly shook her head, denying, “No, I don’t want it.”

She had already spent so much of Sister’s money today and didn’t want to trouble her more.

Shen Hanzhi pulled the little girl closer and coaxed, “It’s no trouble. Whatever you want, Sister will buy for you. Come, let’s find a place to get ice cream.”

Shen Hanzhi looked around, spotted an ice cream shop near the elevator, and led the little girl over.

“Get me a strawberry ice cream and a mango ice cream, please,” she told the shop assistant, then turned to Wen Jin, “I ordered two flavors. Want anything else?”

The little girl quickly shook her head. She wanted to save Sister money, or Sister might not be able to afford her.

Seeing the little girl decline, Shen Hanzhi looked at her with a smile. She finally understood why people loved raising daughters. That afternoon, she felt like playing a dress-up game, buying the little girl so many pretty dresses, her heart brimming with satisfaction.

While they waited for the ice cream, an Omega nearby seemed to recognize Shen Hanzhi and grabbed her companion, asking, “Is that Shen Hanzhi buying ice cream?”

“It looks like her. Who’s that young Omega next to her? I’ve never heard of her before,” Zhang Luyue asked, puzzled.

“Who knows? Is this Omega why she hasn’t been to the bar lately? No way, I need to see what I’m losing to. Shen Hanzhi has a bad temper, but she’s generous. I don’t want to miss out on a sugar mommy like her,” Xi Meng said, heading toward Shen Hanzhi and Wen Jin, clearly annoyed.
