After Transmigrating Into a Book, I Was Forced to Play the Role of a Scumbag Alpha (GL) - Chapter 21
Chapter 21
When Shen Hanzhi woke up early in the morning, the little girl was still sleeping. The company had accumulated many things needing her signature over the past few days. She instructed Aunt Yang that if Wen Jin asked, to tell her she went to the company and would return at noon.
When the little girl woke up, it was already nine in the morning. She slept deeply and had a dream where Sister held her in her arms, sleeping together, so comfortable she didn’t want to get up.
Wen Jin rolled on the bed twice before getting up to open the curtains. The outside was already bright with daylight.
She hurriedly ran to the bathroom to wash up. After not seeing Sister all night, the little girl already missed Shen Hanzhi.
After washing up, she changed into a black dress, made sure she looked neat, and then went ou
Wen Jin stared at Shen Hanzhi’s room for a while. She feared Sister would think she was too clingy but really wanted to see her. After much hesitation, she mustered the courage to knock lightly on the door a few times, but no one responded.
A sense of panic grew in the little girl’s heart. In the villa, she was only closest to Sister. Why wasn’t Sister responding? Was she still sleeping, or not in the room?
The little girl tried turning the doorknob and found Shen Hanzhi hadn’t locked the door. She pushed it lightly, and it opened.
Wen Jin peeked inside cautiously and called weakly, “Sister?”
No one answered. Wen Jin panicked. Did she wake up too late, and Sister got angry?
Thinking of this, Wen Jin hurriedly ran downstairs. Yang Man was vacuuming the living room. Seeing Wen Jin come down, she quickly said, “Miss Wen, you’re awake? Go eat breakfast. Before President Shen left, she specifically told me to let you know she went to the company and will be back at noon.”
The little girl’s anxious heart eased slightly. She nodded uncomfortably. At Rose Manor, the servants always scolded her, so when Shen Hanzhi wasn’t around, she was quite afraid of the other people in the villa.
Yang Man had worked for Shen Hanzhi for five or six years and saw how much Shen Hanzhi cared for Wen Jin, so she didn’t dare neglect her. She smiled and said, “The kitchen prepared soup dumplings, seafood noodles, and some side dishes. Miss Wen, see what you’d like to eat, and we’ll prepare it right away.”
Seeing Yang Man’s kind attitude, Wen Jin’s tightly clenched hands relaxed slightly. She thought for a moment and said, “Then seafood noodles.”
She wasn’t very hungry, especially since Shen Hanzhi wasn’t there, so Wen Jin had little appetite.
Soon, Yang Man and Song Meihong prepared Wen Jin’s breakfast: seafood noodles with fresh Australian lobster delivered that morning, shells removed, filled with shrimp meat, and smelling fragrant.
The little girl finally felt a bit of appetite. She looked up and saw Yang Man still watching her, which made her uneasy.
Yang Man, having worked there for years, was good at reading people. She smiled and said, “If Miss Wen isn’t comfortable with me here, I’ll go do other things. When you’re done eating, Meihong and I will come clean up.”
“Okay, thank you.” The little girl said quickly, her heart relaxing.
“No need to thank me. Miss Wen, you’re too polite. You’re married to President Shen, so you’re the lady of the house. If you need anything, just tell us directly.” Yang Man said with a smile.
After Wen Jin arrived, the villa staff felt relieved. She seemed easy to talk to. They had feared Shen Hanzhi would marry a spoiled young lady, which would make their work harder.
The little girl nodded and said, “Okay.”
She ate the seafood noodles. Though they were fragrant, her heart still felt uneasy. She held the phone, looking at the contacts, wanting to call Shen Hanzhi but fearing she’d disturb her important work.
Meanwhile, Shen Hanzhi had her secretary and two assistants report recent work. She reviewed and signed all the documents needing her signature.
Seeing it was almost eleven, she prepared to go home.
Then there was a knock at the door. Shen Hanzhi said, “Come in.”
Zhang Lilin quickly pushed the door open. As Shen Hanzhi’s secretary, almost all company documents passed through her to reach Shen Hanzhi. She was someone the original body trusted greatly.
“President Shen, there are two meetings this week. Will you attend, or should we arrange for the vice presidents to go? There’s also a charity gala you need to attend. The meetings aren’t a big deal, but the gala will be broadcast live by major domestic media. Your attendance can show our group’s sincerity in charity.” Zhang Lilin reported the week’s main events.
Shen Hanzhi nodded. “I’ll go to the charity gala. Let the vice presidents handle the other meetings.”
“Okay. And your female companion for the gala?” Zhang Lilin asked. Since the Wen family was on its last legs and Shen Hanzhi wasn’t loyal, she didn’t think Shen Hanzhi would take Wen Jin to such an event.
Shen Hanzhi tapped her fingers on the desk lightly and said unhurriedly, “I’ll go with Little Jin. Oh, arrange for someone to come to the villa to customize our dresses and accessories.”
“Little Jin?” Zhang Lilin’s face paled instantly.
“Yes, I’m married, aren’t I? Of course, I’ll take my wife.” Shen Hanzhi said with a smile.
“Okay.” Zhang Lilin nodded, her face still looking bad.
This reminded Shen Hanzhi of something. The original body had an ambiguous relationship with Zhang Lilin. The original body was a playboy, and there was some flirtation with Zhang Lilin. Sometimes, she took Zhang Lilin as her companion to events. Over time, Zhang Lilin felt her status was special in the original body’s eyes, even though the original body was involved with many Omegas. Zhang Lilin believed she was the most special, especially since she held some power in the company.
Shen Hanzhi thought it was time to replace Zhang Lilin. A lovesick person could cause trouble when upset, but this couldn’t be rushed. She needed to investigate if Zhang Lilin had planted any loyalists in the company. Those people needed to be cleared out too, or they’d cause trouble later.
After giving instructions, Shen Hanzhi had an assistant drive her back. As she left, Zhang Lilin watched her retreating figure, deep in thought.
She had investigated Wen Jin and heard from Rose Manor’s people that Wen Jin was a useless person who couldn’t even write her name. Zhang Lilin didn’t believe Shen Hanzhi would truly like such a person.
