After Transmigrating Into a Book, I Was Forced to Play the Role of a Scumbag Alpha (GL) - Chapter 29
Chapter 29
“Has President Shen been sleeping next door since you got married? You haven’t slept together?” Aunt Liu, afraid of being overheard, pulled Wen Jin close and asked in a low voice.
“We only napped together once.” The little girl’s eyes lit up as she recalled Shen Hanzhi holding her while they slept.
This stunned Aunt Liu. Wasn’t Shen Hanzhi eager to marry Little Jin before? Why hadn’t they shared a room after the marriage? That wasn’t normal.
Seeing Aunt Liu stay silent, Wen Jin asked, “What’s wrong, Aunt Liu? Is something off?”
“Little Jin, didn’t President Shen say why you don’t share a room?” Aunt Liu continued to ask.
“Sister said we’re not familiar enough yet and will live together when we are.” Wen Jin repeated Shen Hanzhi’s earlier words.
Aunt Liu didn’t believe Shen Hanzhi’s explanation. She thought Shen Hanzhi either brought Little Jin back as a decoration or had some physical issue, maybe with her glands, which explained why she rushed to marry an innocent girl.
But this was fine. As long as her Little Jin was safe and unharmed, that was enough.
“Aunt Liu, are other wives like this too?” The little girl asked seriously.
“Other wives usually sleep together after marriage, but some live separately. Your situation is somewhat normal.” Aunt Liu thought the status quo wasn’t bad. Shen Hanzhi didn’t seem to mistreat Little Jin. Even if she didn’t like Little Jin and played around outside, at least Little Jin’s life here was secure. They couldn’t provoke Shen Hanzhi.
Wen Jin nodded. She realized she needed to work harder, not just learning to write and do math but also learning from the junior schoolgirl in the drama to sleep with her sister sooner.
“Then I’ll work harder to sleep with Sister soon.” Wen Jin mumbled to Aunt Liu.
This surprised Aunt Liu. Why was Little Jin so eager to sleep with Shen Hanzhi? She didn’t ask further, though. She’d start work tomorrow and have plenty of time to understand the situation.
Wen Jin took Aunt Liu around the villa, showing her the purpose of each room, and then sat in the living room talking for a while.
Shen Hanzhi handled some matters with Zhou Danqing upstairs. When she came down, Wen Jin was still holding Aunt Liu’s hand, talking.
Hearing movement upstairs, the little girl turned to look at Shen Hanzhi. “Sister.”
“Still chatting with Aunt Liu?” Shen Hanzhi, speaking, walked to the sofa behind the little girl and gently rubbed her soft hair.
“I haven’t seen Aunt Liu in so long and have lots to say.” The little girl looked up at Shen Hanzhi, her eyes full of smiles.
Aunt Liu quietly observed their interaction, noting it didn’t seem like their first time. From Little Jin’s expression, she seemed to really like Shen Hanzhi.
“No rush. Aunt Liu will be here every day to keep you company.” Shen Hanzhi rubbed the little girl’s hair again, then looked at Aunt Liu. “Aunt Liu, send me your bank account number later. I’ll pass it to my assistant, and your salary will be deposited on time each month.”
“Okay, thank you, President Shen. Thank you.” Aunt Liu took out her phone and sent the account number. She wanted to ask if she could get this month’s salary in advance, as her daughter’s school fees were urgent, but she hesitated, fearing Shen Hanzhi might think she was greedy.
Shen Hanzhi received the account number and sent it to Zhang Lilin, instructing him that this was for the new villa staff, to be paid on time like Yang Man and the others.
After some small talk, Aunt Liu had to pick up her daughter from the special education school. She quickly said goodbye to Shen Hanzhi and Wen Jin, then rode her second-hand electric scooter out of the villa area.
The next morning, Aunt Liu sent her daughter to school, then rode her scooter to the villa. She kept thinking about her daughter’s tuition, unsure how to ask Shen Hanzhi. She hesitated the whole way and arrived at the villa before she realized it.
Shen Hanzhi and Wen Jin had just finished breakfast. The previous night, due to some frustrating issue, Shen Hanzhi made the little girl cry again, so now she was especially indulgent with her.
Wen Jin nestled in Shen Hanzhi’s arms, expertly acting spoiled. Shen Hanzhi stroked the little girl’s back, comforting her softly. “If you’re still sleepy, go back to sleep. There’s no rush to learn.”
“No, I want to learn quickly.” Wen Jin rubbed against Shen Hanzhi’s arms, whining playfully.
When Aunt Liu entered, she saw Wen Jin acting spoiled in Shen Hanzhi’s arms. Shen Hanzhi was patient, clearly comforting her. This reassured Aunt Liu slightly, but it also felt more off.
Wen Jin, sharp-eyed, spotted Aunt Liu and greeted her with a smile. “Aunt Liu, you’re here.”
“I just dropped Liu Can off at school. President Shen, I’ll start working upstairs.” Aunt Liu said, heading to clean.
Shen Hanzhi smiled. “No rush. There are several rooms on the right side of the first floor, Aunt Liu. Pick one. You can nap there or bring your daughter to stay.”
“Okay, thank you, President Shen.” Aunt Liu went outside, brought in her work clothes, and chose a room. Seeing the room’s furnishings, her eyes widened.
The workers’ rooms at Shen Hanzhi’s villa were excellent, with wardrobes, desks, a large double bed against the wall, and a private bathroom. It was much cleaner and tidier than where she and her daughter lived.
Aunt Liu put her work items in the wardrobe, changed into her work clothes, and left the room.
She greeted Yang Man and Song Meihong, then went upstairs to clean Wen Jin’s room.
At Rose Manor, a servant typically cleaned an entire floor, so cleaning Wen Jin’s single room was easy for her.
Aunt Liu cleaned Wen Jin’s room, washed the clothes that needed cleaning, and helped Yang Man and the others vacuum the second-floor hallway.
Yang Man and the others had a good impression of Aunt Liu. With another person working, their load was lighter.
Shen Hanzhi took the little girl to the study. That morning, she planned to teach her numbers up to one hundred and addition and subtraction within that range.
The little girl listened attentively and basically mastered it.
After lunch, the little girl, unusually, didn’t cling to Shen Hanzhi. The drama she watched last night reached an exciting part, and she was eager to continue. She told Shen Hanzhi she was sleepy. Shen Hanzhi, thinking the morning’s lessons were too much for her to process, let her rest early.
When Shen Hanzhi left, Wen Jin took out her phone and opened the drama. She had reached the sports day episode.
The senior and junior schoolgirls still pretended to be strangers. After running the 500-meter race, the senior walked to a small grove in the school. At that time, students were on the field, and the grove was quiet.
The senior waited only a few minutes before hearing footsteps behind her. Her lips curved slightly as she looked back, seeing the junior standing obediently behind her.
The little girl guessed the next part was important and focused on the screen.
In the scene, the senior stepped closer. The junior didn’t back away but wrapped her arms around the senior’s waist, acting spoiled. “Sister, you just ran 500 meters. Are you tired? I saw several omegas offer you water.”
The senior’s eyes lifted slightly, chuckling as she stared at the junior. “You’re not really asking if I’m tired, are you? The real question is the second part, right? Jealous?”
The junior gently rubbed her cheek against the senior’s neck, warm and soft.
The senior looked down at the junior like she was her prey, lifted her, and carried her to a tree. “Lie there.”
The junior’s ears turned red. She wrapped her arms around the senior’s neck, acting spoiled. “Sister, be gentle.”
The senior, unable to resist the teasing, pushed the junior to turn around, making her lie against the tree. The camera pulled back, leaving only the junior’s broken gasps and the grove’s scenery.
The little girl, watching this, was confused again. She didn’t understand why the senior made the junior lie there. It was beyond her comprehension.
She decided to nap first and ask Aunt Liu later, since her sister told her not to watch this drama, and she felt shy asking her sister.
After watching the episode, the little girl happily covered herself with a blanket and slept.
When Shen Hanzhi went to wake her at 2:30, she saw the little girl’s room was empty. At that moment, Wen Jin had taken her phone to Aunt Liu’s room.
Aunt Liu ate lunch with Yang Man and the others, finding the villa’s servants kind, with no habit of mocking others. The living conditions here were far better than at Rose Manor. Her room was like a hotel’s business suite.
Hearing a knock, Aunt Liu quickly opened the door, saw Wen Jin, and welcomed her with a smile. “Little Jin, come in and sit. Is there something you need me to clean?”
The little girl’s ears turned red. She grabbed Aunt Liu’s arm. “No, Aunt Liu, I have something to ask you.”
“Okay, ask away.” Aunt Liu sat beside Wen Jin, feeling sorry for the child. Unlike her daughter, who had a third-degree intellectual disability and a mental age of six or seven, Wen Jin was intellectually normal. Her years were wasted by Wen Hengqiu and the others; otherwise, she’d be in college by now.
The little girl shyly took out her phone, unsure how to start. After hesitating, she looked at Aunt Liu. “Aunt Liu, I want to learn how to make Sister happy and sleep in her room soon. I’ve been watching a drama and learned some things, but I don’t understand others. Can you help me?”
Aunt Liu hadn’t expected Little Jin to care so much about Shen Hanzhi, even watching dramas to learn how to please her. She was curious about what Little Jin had watched.
“Of course, Little Jin. It’s just us in the room now. I’ve watched you grow up. Tell me, do you really like Shen Hanzhi?” Aunt Liu, only visiting the Shen villa twice, saw Wen Jin’s attachment to Shen Hanzhi, like a young girl in love.
Wen Jin’s cheeks flushed, but she nodded, smiling softly. “Sister is so good to me. She teaches me to read and count, buys me clothes and a phone, has the aunts make me good food, takes me shopping, and protects me from big dogs. I’ve never met anyone this kind to me.”
The little girl’s eyes sparkled when talking about Shen Hanzhi. But she recalled Shen Hanzhi got upset with her almost daily, often over trivial things. She wondered if her sister had a time each day when her mood soured, so she had to scold her.
“But Sister seems to get in a bad mood every day for a while and scolds me a bit.” The little girl hesitated as she spoke.
Aunt Liu tensed up immediately. Poor Little Jin had just escaped one bad situation and landed in another.
“How did she treat you? Did she hit you?” Aunt Liu asked urgently, her eyes red.
Wen Jin shook her head. “No, Sister scolds me once, then apologizes right away and comforts me.”
Aunt Liu relaxed slightly but couldn’t figure Shen Hanzhi out. Scolding and then comforting? Was this some new upper-class hobby?
