After Transmigrating Into a Book, I Was Forced to Play the Role of a Scumbag Alpha (GL) - Chapter 51
Chapter 51
On the day the college entrance exam results came out, Little Jin buried her face in Shen Hanzhi’s arms, too scared to check the scores on her phone. In the end, Shen Hanzhi helped Little Jin look.
Little Jin scored 357 points. Although she didn’t reach the undergraduate score line, she could still attend a junior college. Her final score was similar to her mock exam scores. Little Jin happily tackled Shen Hanzhi onto the bed. “Sister, I passed! I can go to college!”
Shen Hanzhi hugged the little girl tightly, smoothed her hair, kissed her lips, and smiled with curved eyes. “My Little Jin is amazing.”
“Thanks to Sister,” Little Jin said, mumbling and acting spoiled while buried in Shen Hanzhi’s arms.
Shen Hanzhi lifted Little Jin onto her lap, made her sit properly, leaned over, kissed the corner of her lips, and softly teased. “Thanks to me? Does my Little Jin have a reward for me?”
Shen Hanzhi winked at Little Jin. Little Jin’s ear tips turned bright red, and she melted into Shen Hanzhi’s arms, leaned forward, and lightly bit Shen Hanzhi’s lower lip. “Sister always teases me.”
Thinking of that day in the office, Little Jin’s face flushed red. Sister had coaxed her to sit on the desk and teased her. Just thinking about it made the little girl melt in Shen Hanzhi’s arms.
Shen Hanzhi looked at the soft Little Jin in her arms, her eyes curving. She leaned over, kissed Little Jin’s ear tip, and deliberately asked, “What’s Little Jin thinking about? Your ear tips are so red.”
Shen Hanzhi pinched Little Jin’s ear tip, gently rubbing and playing with it.
Little Jin buried her face in Shen Hanzhi’s arms, rubbing back and forth. “Sister’s bad. No reward.”
“Is Little Jin so stingy? I helped Little Jin so much, and you won’t share some rabbit meat with me?” Shen Hanzhi kissed the little girl’s red ear tip and continued talking to herself. “Fine, since Little Jin is so stingy, I’ll find some rabbit meat to eat myself.”
Saying that, Shen Hanzhi placed the soft Little Jin on the bed and kissed her. Little Jin only had the strength to wrap her arms around Shen Hanzhi’s neck, mumbling as Shen Hanzhi pinned her to the bed and kissed her.
By the time Shen Hanzhi let go of Little Jin, it was already evening. Little Jin leaned softly in Shen Hanzhi’s arms, holding a cup with a little rabbit print, obediently drinking warm water from it.
Shen Hanzhi looked at Little Jin, who had many new strawberry marks on her neck, her eyes curving. She poked Little Jin’s dimple and teased, “Little Jin needs to drink more water.”
Little Jin mumbled and glared at Shen Hanzhi. Why was she dehydrated? Didn’t Sister know?
Little Jin ignored Shen Hanzhi and chugged most of the water in the cup.
Little Jin placed the cup on the nightstand and melted back into Shen Hanzhi’s arms without strength.
Shen Hanzhi kissed Little Jin in her arms and softly asked, “Little Jin, besides little rabbits, what other small animals do you like?”
Little Jin slightly lifted her eyelids to look at Shen Hanzhi, not understanding why she suddenly asked this. Still, the little girl obediently answered, “Kittens and little foxes are pretty cute too.”
Shen Hanzhi’s eyes lit up, and she smiled. “Really? I remember there are nightgowns with those animals in the closet. Will Little Jin wear them for me tomorrow?”
The little girl then realized what nightgowns Shen Hanzhi meant. Her face turned red, and she burrowed into Shen Hanzhi’s arms. Since the first time, Sister had gotten naughtier.
Shen Hanzhi teased Little Jin into shyness and finally let her go. After all, having tasted meat, how could she go back to eating plain?
Shen Hanzhi and Little Jin fooled around all afternoon until evening without eating. Shen Hanzhi let Little Jin sleep for a bit. Past nine, Shen Hanzhi woke Little Jin, carried her, and prepared to go downstairs for food.
Little Jin thought everyone should be back in their rooms by this time, so she didn’t refuse Shen Hanzhi. Besides, Sister had really made her legs weak, and she didn’t want to walk. She obediently leaned in Shen Hanzhi’s arms.
“Taking my Little Jin downstairs to eat. Still sleepy?” Shen Hanzhi looked at the drowsy Little Jin in her arms, amused by her sleepy look, and then Little Jin bit her chin.
“Little bad rabbit, learning to bite people? Alright, alright, I won’t laugh at my Little Jin. Let’s go downstairs,” Shen Hanzhi said, carrying Little Jin downstairs. She saw Liu Can and Guan Ziyu drawing at the coffee table in the living room.
Liu Can was on break, usually doing homework assigned by teachers here. During the day, she played in her room since Aunt Liu was busy with villa chores and couldn’t watch her. Liu Can drew or sometimes watched cartoons in her room.
Weekends were Liu Can’s happiest times. Guan Ziyu came over to see her, played with her, and sometimes watched animated movies together. Liu Can really liked this sister.
When Shen Hanzhi carried Little Jin downstairs, she saw Liu Can and Guan Ziyu in the living room.
Shen Hanzhi hadn’t expected this, but compared to Little Jin, who was too shy to lift her head, Shen Hanzhi was much calmer. She smiled and greeted Guan Ziyu. “Ziyu, you’re here to play with Little Can?”
“Yes, what about you two?” Guan Ziyu asked with a smile.
“Oh, Little Jin and I haven’t eaten tonight. We’re making something to eat. You and Liu Can? Want to join us?” Shen Hanzhi asked politely.
“No, Little Can and I won’t disturb you,” Guan Ziyu said, winking at Shen Hanzhi.
Over the past year, Guan Ziyu came almost every week, so she and Shen Hanzhi became familiar, now fairly good friends.
Seeing Guan Ziyu tease her, Shen Hanzhi didn’t get upset. She carried Little Jin steadily to the dining room.
Liu Can’s attention was drawn to Shen Hanzhi and Wen Jin. She used to think it was embarrassing, but after seeing Shen Hanzhi carry Wen Jin a few times, Liu Can felt a bit envious. Wen Jin had a sister to carry her, but she didn’t.
Kids are like that—seeing what other kids have makes them jealous. Fortunately, Liu Can was sensible. Though envious, she never said anything. She looked up at Guan Ziyu, thinking if Sister Guan could carry her, she’d be as happy as Little Jin.
Guan Ziyu saw Liu Can looking at her and smiled. “What’s wrong, Little Can? Hungry?”
Liu Can quickly shook her head. “No, Sister, I’ll keep drawing.”
“Okay,” Guan Ziyu said, smiling and nodding.
Over the past year, she often came over, but mostly stayed in the living room or the outdoor pavilion with Liu Can, never alone with her in a room. As an alpha, Guan Ziyu always kept boundaries.
Liu Can was like a little angel. Though her intelligence was at a six- or seven-year-old level, she was a strong girl. Her hands weren’t as agile as her peers, but through constant practice, she could make simple food in the kitchen and even bake small cakes.
Guan Ziyu had taken Liu Can to the hospital for checkups twice, but intellectual disabilities were often irreversible. Still, Liu Can adapted well, now with good self-care abilities, though her mindset remained childlike.
Guan Ziyu drew with Liu Can. Liu Can was quiet while drawing, occasionally looking up to smile at Guan Ziyu.
In the kitchen, Shen Hanzhi checked and saw plenty of lamb in the fridge. She stir-fried a pot and cooked two bowls of lamb noodles for herself and Little Jin.
When Shen Hanzhi brought out the lamb noodles, she noticed Little Jin’s nose twitch slightly. She smiled and asked, “Is Little Jin hungry?”
“Yes, I’m tired from the afternoon. Sister’s too bad,” Little Jin said, wrinkling her nose at Shen Hanzhi and eating the noodles.
Shen Hanzhi was hungry too. That kind of activity was tiring for an alpha as well. She sat beside Little Jin and ate heartily.
Liu Can finished drawing the last figure by the tree and looked at Shen Hanzhi’s side. She leaned closer to Guan Ziyu and quietly asked, “Sister, what does getting married mean?”
She couldn’t help being curious. Why were Little Jin and Sister Shen so close? Because they were married? She didn’t quite understand. When she asked her mom, her mom always said she was too young for such deep questions.
Guan Ziyu hadn’t expected Liu Can to ask this. She chose her words carefully and said, “Marriage is when two people who like each other live together. Once married, they’re the closest people, closer than best friends.”
Liu Can nodded, half-understanding, then seemed to think of something. Her eyes lit up, and she looked at Guan Ziyu. “Sister, can we two get married? I like Sister!”
Compared to Shen Hanzhi and Wen Jin, Liu Can felt closer to Guan Ziyu. After all, Sister Shen and Little Jin were always together, and she felt shy to play with them. But Guan Ziyu came every week to be with her. Liu Can remembered two weeks when Guan Ziyu was too busy at the hospital to come, and she felt lost those weeks.
Guan Ziyu was stumped by the girl’s question. Knowing it was a child’s curiosity, she smiled and explained, “We can’t. Your liking me is the kind between friends. The liking for marriage is between lovers, very complicated. Marriage is a big deal and can’t be done casually.”
Liu Can was confused by Guan Ziyu’s explanation. After all that, she still didn’t understand how to get married. Hearing Guan Ziyu didn’t want to, the girl wilted. “Oh.”
Seeing Liu Can’s mood drop, Guan Ziyu touched her head to comfort her. “Our Little Can is so cute. You’ll meet someone you really like someday, someone you can marry.”
Liu Can sniffled, holding back tears. Sister talked so much but still didn’t want to marry her. Did Sister not like her? She didn’t dare ask, afraid Sister wouldn’t come on weekends anymore.
Liu Can drew quietly, her mood low. Guan Ziyu saw the child was upset and softly said, “Want to go to my place tomorrow to see Xiaohua? I have dog food. You can feed Xiaohua, okay?”
Hearing this, the girl nodded. She missed Xiaohua a bit, but usually, Sister came to see her. She wasn’t sure if her mom would let her go.
Liu Can propped her face with her hands and looked at Guan Ziyu. “Sister, will my mom let me go?”
“You draw nicely, and I’ll talk to Aunt Liu,” Guan Ziyu said, smiling reassuringly, then got up to knock on Liu Fang’s door.
Seeing Guan Ziyu, Liu Fang quickly asked, “Miss Guan, is something wrong with Little Can?”
“No, Little Can’s drawing in the living room. I promised to take her to my place tomorrow to see Xiaohua. Is that okay?” Guan Ziyu asked politely.
“No need, Miss Guan. You come every week to be with her. I’m already grateful and can’t trouble you more,” Liu Fang said, quickly declining.
“Aunt Liu, I’ll take good care of Little Can. I already promised her, and breaking it would upset her. Just for tomorrow. I’ll bring her back after dinner. Don’t you trust me?” Guan Ziyu said gently.
“Of course I trust you, Miss Guan. You’re a good person. I’m just worried Little Can will trouble you,” Liu Fang continued.
“It’s no trouble. Little Can is sensible. I’ll take good care of her tomorrow. Our places aren’t far—just a ten-minute walk. If you’re worried, you can come anytime,” Guan Ziyu said, not wanting to disappoint the child, and continued persuading.
“Alright, sorry for the trouble,” Liu Fang said apologetically.
“No trouble, Aunt Liu. Little Can is my friend.”
After talking with Aunt Liu, Guan Ziyu returned to the living room, sat beside Liu Can, and softly said, “I talked to Aunt Liu. Tomorrow, I’ll take you to play for the day and bring you back in the evening.”
“Really? Sister, you’re the best!” Liu Can’s eyes lit up, her paintbrush slipping, turning the sun into an oval.
Guan Ziyu chuckled and nodded. “Really. I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning.”
“Sister’s the best. I like Sister,” Liu Can said sweetly.
Guan Ziyu’s eyes curved. The kid was learning to flatter.
When Liu Can looked at her drawing again, she got anxious. “Oh no, I ruined the sun.”
Guan Ziyu laughed at the child’s distress. The kid looked at her aggrievedly. “Sister, are you laughing at me?”
“No, I think Little Can is cute,” Guan Ziyu said, fixing Liu Can’s bangs.
Hearing Guan Ziyu’s praise, Liu Can happily continued drawing, though the more she looked at the sun, the less she liked it.
Shen Hanzhi and Wen Jin finished their noodles. Shen Hanzhi washed the pots and bowls. Coming out, she walked to the little girl and teased, “Does Little Jin walk herself, or do I carry her?”
The little girl glanced at the living room, stood up, and muttered quietly, “I’ll walk myself.”
Shen Hanzhi pinched Little Jin’s cheek. “Okay, Little Jin walks herself.”
She loved touching Little Jin whenever she could. Her little rabbit was getting cuter.
Little Jin broke free from Shen Hanzhi’s hand, huffed at her, and turned to go upstairs.
Shen Hanzhi laughed and followed. Near the room, she scooped up Little Jin, startling her. Little Jin sucked several strawberry marks on Shen Hanzhi’s neck before stopping.
“Little Jin sucked so hard. Good thing I don’t have to go to the company tomorrow, or I’d need concealer,” Shen Hanzhi said, kissing Little Jin’s face in her arms and laughing.
“Who told you to tease me first?” Little Jin mumbled, leaning into Shen Hanzhi’s arms.
Shen Hanzhi looked at the now-energetic Little Jin and softly teased, “After dinner, want to do some light exercise?”
Little Jin sensed trouble, buried her head in Shen Hanzhi’s arms, and innocently asked, “How do we do light exercise?”
“Doesn’t Little Jin know? Sister will teach you,” Shen Hanzhi said, pinning Little Jin to the bed.
Soon, the room filled with the scent of lychee and milk, blending into a sweet, fruity fragrance Shen Hanzhi quite liked.
In the morning, the exhausted Little Jin turned her back to Shen Hanzhi, ignoring her.
Seeing Little Jin upset, Shen Hanzhi ran around comforting her, bringing breakfast up and feeding her bite by bite. After breakfast, Little Jin’s anger eased a bit. She used to think Sister was proper, but now she thought Sister was fake proper.
Downstairs, Liu Can, excited about Guan Ziyu picking her up, took her time washing up. She set an alarm on her kids’ smartwatch and got up early to wash.
After a year of practice, she could wash, comb her hair, and tie it simply, so Liu Fang didn’t have to worry much. Seeing her daughter’s obedient behavior, Liu Fang’s heart ached.
She was grateful Guan Ziyu was friends with her daughter. A doctor willing to come weekly to play with her, even taking her to the hospital for free checkups, made Liu Fang very thankful but also worried. Her daughter was 23, three years older than Little Jin. Though her intelligence was childlike, her body was adult.
Liu Fang worried her daughter might grow dependent on Guan Ziyu. After all, Guan Ziyu was normal, from a good family, with a respectable job. No one would choose someone with intellectual issues as a girlfriend. Liu Fang feared her daughter would be hurt.
But seeing her daughter get up early to prepare, Liu Fang couldn’t say anything, her words stuck in her throat.
“Mom, Sister’s coming to pick me up to play. I want to wear those shorts and the short-sleeve shirt,” Liu Can said happily, taking clothes to change in the bathroom.
Liu Fang sat there, sighing deeply.
Past eight, Guan Ziyu arrived, not wanting the kid to wait. Sure enough, Liu Can was sitting on an outdoor bench waiting.
“Sister!” Liu Can waved excitedly when she saw Guan Ziyu.
Guan Ziyu smiled at her. “Good, I’ll tell your mom, and we’ll go.”
“Okay,” Liu Can said, obediently following Guan Ziyu like a little tail.
Inside, Liu Can saw Liu Fang cleaning and politely greeted, “Aunt Liu, I’m taking Little Can. Don’t worry.”
“Okay, Little Can, be good. Don’t trouble your sister,” Liu Fang said, looking at them, wanting to speak but stopping.
Liu Can smiled and replied, “I know, Mom. I’m going with Sister.”
“Alright, go,” Liu Fang said, sighing as her daughter looked so happy.
After they left, Yang Man, vacuuming with Liu Fang, looked at her and said, “Sister Liu, does Miss Guan have feelings for Little Can? It’s been almost a year. She comes every week and has a good temper. If Little Can were with her, you wouldn’t have to worry.”
Liu Fang quickly waved her hands. “Don’t say that. With Miss Guan’s family background, how could she be with Little Can? She just sees her as a little sister.”
Seeing Liu Fang say this, Yang Man didn’t say more and chatted about other things.
Liu Can happily followed Guan Ziyu, her steps light and quick.
Seeing her happy, Guan Ziyu smiled and asked, “Really happy?”
“Yes, I’m happy when Sister’s here,” the kid said, her eyes sparkling at Guan Ziyu, warming her heart.
“I’m happy seeing Little Can too. Let’s go feed Xiaohua,” Guan Ziyu said.
“Okay, Xiaohua must miss me,” the kid said confidently, making Guan Ziyu laugh.
At Guan Ziyu’s villa yard, Xiaohua was chasing a yellow ball. Seeing Guan Ziyu, Xiaohua wagged its tail and ran to her.
Guan Ziyu softly instructed, “Big Sister’s here to see you. Be good and don’t scare anyone, okay?”
Xiaohua’s big dog head rubbed Guan Ziyu’s leg, showing it understood, then went to nuzzle Liu Can.
Liu Can happily petted Xiaohua, rubbing until its belly was exposed.
Guan Ziyu brought a small stool, and she and Liu Can sat by Xiaohua, playing with it.
After a while, the sun came out. Guan Ziyu looked at the kid and smiled. “Little Can, let’s go inside and wash hands. It’s too hot outside. We’ll play in my room.”
“Okay,” the kid nodded obediently, following Guan Ziyu into the villa.
Guan Ziyu took her to wash hands. The kid slowly squeezed hand soap, carefully washing her hands clean.
Guan Ziyu handed the kid a disposable towel, and the kid obediently wiped her hands.
As an alpha, Guan Ziyu kept her room’s door open. She brought the kid to her desk, where she’d bought a coloring book with pre-drawn patterns, ready to be colored.
Liu Can saw the array of colored pencils and couldn’t move. She blinked at Guan Ziyu. “Sister, can I play with this?”
Guan Ziyu smiled and softly replied, “Of course, it’s for you.”
“Thank you, Sister,” the kid said, interested in drawing and colors. She usually loved drawing. Hearing Guan Ziyu’s approval, she happily sat down and started coloring with the pencils.
Guan Ziyu took a book and sat beside Liu Can, reading. The two quietly did their own things. Guan Ziyu even felt having the kid with her was more comfortable than reading alone.
In no time, Liu Can finished coloring a picture and was happily admiring it.
Guan Ziyu’s gaze fell on the kid. Liu Can had a bun hairstyle today, with a few playful bangs, making her even cuter. She wore a white short-sleeve shirt and denim shorts with white sneakers, showing off her slender, even legs.
Guan Ziyu quickly looked away. The kid didn’t understand anything, and as her sister, she couldn’t look inappropriately.
Her heart had raced a bit. Guan Ziyu closed her eyes briefly, then calmed down to keep reading.
