After Transmigrating Into a Book, I Was Forced to Play the Role of a Scumbag Alpha (GL) - Chapter 63 (Extra 2)
Chapter 63 (Extra 2)
Shen Hanzhi hesitated for a moment before she spoke softly, “Nothing, it’s a nice name.”
Wen Jin’s lips curved slightly, and she smiled at Shen Hanzhi. “President Shen, please, the bathroom is over there. Dinner is almost ready.”
“Okay, I’ll wash my hands and come right over,” Shen Hanzhi replied reluctantly, quickly stepping into the bathroom. She splashed cold water on her face, and her senses gradually returned. How could two people be completely identical? Wen Jin’s personality seemed different from Little Bunny’s, but what about the little one? The child was also called Mumu and wore a bunny outfit. Were these really all coincidences? Or was she hallucinating?
Shen Hanzhi wanted to excuse herself and go to the hospital. She felt something was wrong with her mind.
After calming down in the bathroom for five minutes, Shen Hanzhi dried her face with a tissue, reapplied her lipstick, and returned to the living room.
Wen Jin placed the little one in a high chair, glanced at Shen Hanzhi, and half-jokingly said, “I was about to check on you in the bathroom. I thought something happened.”
“Oh, I woke up late today, and my head felt dizzy. I used your bathroom to wash my face,” Shen Hanzhi quickly explained.
“President Shen, please sit,” Wen Jin said, her face still carrying a polite smile.
Shen Hanzhi nodded and took a seat, noticing the little one looking at her obediently, smiling at her.
Shen Hanzhi returned a smile to the little one, who grew even happier, her short legs swinging.
Wen Jin served food to the little one and handed her a spoon, letting her mix it with rice to eat.
The little one took two bites, then enthusiastically invited Shen Hanzhi, “Auntie, you eat too. The food is yummy.”
Shen Hanzhi’s eyes softened. The little one was too adorable. “Okay, I’ll eat. Mumu is so good, eating by herself already.”
The little one beamed at Shen Hanzhi’s praise, her little face lighting up, and she waved her spoon more energetically.
Shen Hanzhi’s attention was entirely captured by the little one.
Wen Jin smiled at Shen Hanzhi, raised an eyebrow, and asked, “Does President Shen like children a lot?”
“I like them, especially obedient kids like Mumu,” Shen Hanzhi said, then, realizing her words might be inappropriate, quickly added, “No, I mean, Mumu is really cute.”
Wen Jin’s smile widened. “I know President Shen likes kids. If we collaborate in the future, you can come see Mumu often.”
“Definitely, definitely,” Shen Hanzhi said, snapping back to reality. The person in front of her was her client, and she couldn’t let her mind wander again.
“President Shen, try our homemade wine. How is it?” Wen Jin asked, taking a sip of wine and smiling at Shen Hanzhi.
Seeing Wen Jin drink, Shen Hanzhi sobered up a bit. Little Bunny didn’t drink. She even found beer unpleasant and only drank juice. The person in front of her probably wasn’t her Little Bunny.
Shen Hanzhi sipped the wine. It tasted slightly bitter but left a sweet aftertaste. Yet her heart felt full of bitterness.
“What? Doesn’t President Shen like it?” Wen Jin asked, watching Shen Hanzhi’s reaction with interest.
“Oh, no, sorry. I’m not in a good mental state today. I made you laugh. I’ll drink a cup as punishment,” Shen Hanzhi said, downing most of the glass of wine in one go.
Wen Jin’s hand under the table clenched tightly, her eyes filled with worry. But when Shen Hanzhi set down her glass, Wen Jin resumed her earlier cheerful demeanor.
“There’s plenty of wine. President Shen doesn’t need to drink so fast. Eat something,” Wen Jin said, picking up her chopsticks first.
The little one looked at her mommy, then at Shen Hanzhi, and pointed at some shrimp in the distance. “Mommy, peel shrimp for me to eat.”
Wen Jin looked at the little one tenderly and said softly, “Okay, I’ll peel for my little baby.”
The little one, hearing her mommy call her “baby,” gave Wen Jin a big smile, her legs swinging back and forth on the chair.
Shen Hanzhi watched their interaction, feeling a pang of envy. She wondered how her own little one was doing. Would she cry waking up without her?
Shen Hanzhi’s eyes reddened, and she quickly ate some food to hide it.
After dinner, Wen Jin looked at Shen Hanzhi politely. “President Shen, can you watch Mumu for me? I’ll go to my room to tidy up and change.”
“No problem. Go ahead, Miss Wen,” Shen Hanzhi said, nodding and clapping her hands at the little one standing on the floor. “Little Mumu, want Auntie to hold you?”
“Yes!” the little one said, eagerly jumping onto Shen Hanzhi’s lap.
Shen Hanzhi picked her up, sat on the sofa, and played with her.
When Little Chen came to deliver documents to Wen Jin, she was stunned to see Shen Hanzhi playing with Mumu.
Their boss cherished her daughter and never let strangers near her. Yet today, the boss hadn’t shown a cold face all day, giving Shen Hanzhi too much face.
The collaboration between their vineyard and Shen Hanzhi’s company was just a small matter, not something the boss needed to handle personally. Was there something special about Shen Hanzhi?
Little Chen didn’t dare linger, quickly heading upstairs to deliver the items to Wen Jin.
Shen Hanzhi held the soft little one and smiled, asking, “Mumu, what’s your name? Do you go to kindergarten?”
“My name is Shen Mu. Mommy says I’ll go to kindergarten at three and a half,” the little one said, snuggling against Shen Hanzhi, happily swinging her short legs.
Shen Hanzhi froze at the little one’s words, took a few deep breaths, and softened her tone to ask, “Mumu, you said your name is Shen Mu? What about your daddy or mommy?”
“I don’t have a daddy, only Mommy. Mommy said she went far away, but we’ll find her soon,” the little one said, giving Shen Hanzhi an innocent smile, noticing her red eyes.
The little one’s mouth opened wide in surprise. “Auntie, why are you crying? I’ll wipe for you.”
The little one eagerly grabbed a tissue and wiped Shen Hanzhi’s tears.
Shen Hanzhi stared at the little one. Could this be her little one? She had experienced something as bizarre as transmigrating into a book. Why couldn’t she believe Little Jin and the little one could cross over to find her?
“Mumu, have you never seen your mommy since you were little?” Shen Hanzhi asked seriously.
The little one shook her head, thought for a moment, and said, “No, I haven’t seen Mommy since I can remember. Mommy said she’ll help me find her.”
“Yes, your mommy is right,” Shen Hanzhi said.
Her heart raced. Similar appearances could be a coincidence, but the same name, looks, and even the child’s name being identical? Shen Hanzhi felt it couldn’t be a coincidence.
“Auntie, are you unhappy? Carry me to that tall cabinet,” the little one said softly, directing Shen Hanzhi.
Shen Hanzhi picked up the little one and obediently moved to the taller cabinet.
The little one reached for a candy jar on the shelf, took out a White Rabbit milk candy, peeled it with her little hands, and held it to Shen Hanzhi’s mouth. “Auntie, eat this. You won’t be sad. The candy is sweet and yummy.”
Shen Hanzhi looked at the obedient little one, her eyes red as she ate the candy the little one fed her.
Wen Jin came downstairs, saw the little one at the candy jar, and smiled, asking, “Little rascal, are you sneaking candy?”
“No, Mommy. Auntie was sad, so I fed her a candy,” the little one said quickly.
Wen Jin’s eyes held a smile as she looked at Shen Hanzhi, casually asking, “Is that so, President Shen? Are you unhappy?”
“Mumu is very good. I like her a lot,” Shen Hanzhi said, looking at Wen Jin, avoiding the question.
Wen Jin chuckled, walked over quickly, picked up the little one, and handed her to the nanny to take away.
She returned to Shen Hanzhi. “President Shen is quite the joker. Mumu is my daughter.”
Shen Hanzhi took a deep breath and tentatively called, “Little Jin, do you still remember me?”
Wen Jin’s smile faded, and she sat lazily on the sofa. “I don’t understand what President Shen means. I’ve never met you before. How would I remember you?”
Shen Hanzhi stepped forward, leaned down, and looked into Wen Jin’s eyes. “Impossible. There can’t be such a coincidence. You’re Little Bunny, you’re Little Jin.”
Wen Jin gently pushed Shen Hanzhi back. “President Shen should be careful. I’ve never known you before.”
“Impossible. You’re Little Jin, and Mumu is our daughter, right?” Shen Hanzhi pressed further.
Wen Jin laughed lightly. “President Shen must not have slept well or read too many novels. This world doesn’t have strange settings. How could we have a child? I think President Shen is tired. Butler, see the guest out.”
“Little Jin, I miss you and the baby so much. Don’t you want to see me?” Shen Hanzhi said in a panic, but Wen Jin’s butler escorted her out.
Wen Jin’s fists clenched tightly, her eyes slightly red. She murmured softly, “I miss Sister too, but Sister was too naughty. She made me and the baby search for so long. I can’t let her off so easily.”
She held back tears and slowly went upstairs.
Wen Jin’s driver took Shen Hanzhi home. Even back at her place, Shen Hanzhi felt dazed. Why didn’t Little Bunny acknowledge her? Did she have some reason?
Shen Hanzhi refused to believe Wen Jin wasn’t her Little Bunny. She just didn’t know what happened to cause such a change in Little Bunny’s personality.
After thinking, Shen Hanzhi dialed a number. “Investigate someone for me. I’ve sent the money to your account. Yes, her name is Wen Jin. Check her background, very detailed, as fast as possible.”
After the call, Shen Hanzhi collapsed on the bed, exhausted from recent events.
Thinking about things, Shen Hanzhi soon fell asleep on the sofa. Over two hours later, her phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, she quickly answered.
“President Shen, I looked into what you asked, but I found nothing. Wen Jin’s information seems deliberately hidden. All I could find is that she’s the vineyard’s boss,” the voice said.
“Okay, I understand,” Shen Hanzhi said, hanging up, even more certain Wen Jin was her Little Bunny.
She got up, showered, and prepared to go to the vineyard early the next morning to wait for Wen Jin.
Meanwhile, Wen Jin coaxed the little one to watch TV in bed. The little one, seeing a white bunny on the screen, happily rolled twice on the bed.
Seeing the little one loved bunnies from a young age, Wen Jin smiled. “You really take after your mommy. Do you like bunnies that much?”
“Yes, I like them,” the little one said, hugging a bunny plushie, thrilled watching the bunny on TV.
After letting the little one watch TV for a bit, Wen Jin put her to bed early.
Once the little one was asleep, Wen Jin went to a room in the villa’s basement. The room wasn’t small, with a two-meter-wide bed covered in fluffy white bedding and a sofa nearby.
The wardrobe held various sleep dresses, all with minimal fabric. Wen Jin’s eyes darkened as she looked at specially made handcuff chains, murmuring with a light chuckle, “Sister, you can’t escape this time.”
Wen Jin slept her first good sleep in three years that night. She only drank a little red wine before bed. Normally, she needed a lot of alcohol or medication to avoid waking up from nightmares about Shen Hanzhi.
When the baby was less than three months old, Sister vanished like she evaporated. No matter how many people Wen Jin sent or connections she used, she couldn’t find Sister.
She had no choice but to single-handedly run the company and raise Mumu. Thankfully, Aunt Liu and Guan Ziyu helped, or Wen Jin wouldn’t have known how to cope.
A year ago, she and the baby inexplicably arrived in this unfamiliar world. She had nothing except the vast wealth in her bank account. She could barely find traces of their life in the previous world.
Wen Jin thought she couldn’t have appeared in a strange place for no reason. Perhaps her Sister was here too. So, within a year, she acquired the winery, organized the suburban plantation, unified acquisitions, and spent nearly a year managing everything meticulously. She hired trustworthy maids and staff.
In recent months, Wen Jin finally had free time. She prepared everything to give her daughter a good life here.
She decided to try finding Shen Hanzhi in this city. Many people shared the name, so she screened them one by one. Only last week did she confirm the Shen Hanzhi from the short video company was her Sister.
Wen Jin didn’t know what happened to Shen Hanzhi, but she held a grudge for Sister leaving without a word.
She stopped wearing bunny-themed clothes, started drinking the bitter alcohol she once disliked, and sometimes doubted if Shen Hanzhi was real. Only seeing the little one convinced her that her Sister existed, that they loved each other deeply, and had an adorable baby.
The next morning, Wen Jin woke refreshed, her smile brighter than usual. She told the little one to play at home with the aunties and had someone drive her to the plantation early. Knowing her Sister, she was probably already waiting there.
Sure enough, as the Maybach neared the plantation, Shen Hanzhi’s BMW was parked at the entrance. Shen Hanzhi got out quickly and waved at Wen Jin’s car.
Wen Jin saw Shen Hanzhi from the car, her eyes lighting up briefly before she composed herself, calmly opening the window. “Does President Shen have business with me? Waiting here so early?”
“Yes, I have something to discuss. Little Jin, are you free?” Shen Hanzhi said quickly.
“Are we that close, President Shen?” Wen Jin asked, giving Shen Hanzhi a half-smile.
“Pretty close,” Shen Hanzhi replied, knowing exactly where Little Bunny had moles.
Wen Jin saw her standing there awkwardly, softened, and smiled. “Fine. I have things to do soon, but President Shen can wait in yesterday’s meeting room.”
With that, Wen Jin closed the window, and the Maybach drove off.
Shen Hanzhi’s face lit up with joy. Though she didn’t know why Little Bunny ignored her, the fact that Little Bunny agreed to meet was enough.
Shen Hanzhi quickly drove to follow, and upon entering the lounge, a staff member brought her tea. Soon, Little Chen brought in various nuts, snacks, and a fruit platter.
Shen Hanzhi looked at the food on the table, her smile growing. Was Little Bunny feeding her?
Her heart settled slightly, but she waited all morning, feeling deflated. Why was Little Bunny ignoring her?
Just as Shen Hanzhi leaned listlessly on the sofa, Wen Jin entered.
She smiled politely at Shen Hanzhi. “Sorry to keep President Shen waiting. You can tell me what’s up now.”
Shen Hanzhi glanced at the secretary beside Wen Jin, ignored her, and said directly, “Little Jin, I miss you.”
Wen Jin’s hand at her side clenched tightly, resisting the urge to throw herself into Shen Hanzhi’s arms.
“President Shen is joking. We only met yesterday. How could you miss me?” Wen Jin said playfully.
“Little Jin, I don’t know why you won’t acknowledge me, but I’m willing to wait. I’ll pursue you again if you agree,” Shen Hanzhi continued.
Little Chen watched her boss’s expression, ready to step in if the boss’s face changed.
But Wen Jin looked at Shen Hanzhi with a smile in her eyes. “How do you plan to pursue me?”
“However you want me to,” Shen Hanzhi said, lacking confidence. Before, Little Bunny was naive, and she raised her while falling in love. Plus, they were legally married, so Shen Hanzhi had little experience with pursuit.
“That sounds like no sincerity. Doesn’t President Shen have a plan?” Wen Jin asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Then, will you watch a movie with me this afternoon?” Shen Hanzhi managed to say after a pause.
Wen Jin chuckled, and Little Chen thought Shen Hanzhi was done for, expecting the boss to scold her or end the collaboration.
But the next second, Wen Jin nodded. “Okay. President Shen, wait a moment. I’ll grab something from my office. Didn’t you say yesterday you’d treat me to dinner?”
“Yes, I did,” Shen Hanzhi said, her face full of joy as she looked at Wen Jin.
Their interaction stunned Little Chen. Her temperamental boss agreed to a movie? Little Chen questioned reality.
Shen Hanzhi happily waited outside for Wen Jin, her eyes lighting up when she saw her come out.
“Little Jin, if we go eat, what about our baby?” Shen Hanzhi asked with a smile, missing the little one after a day.
Wen Jin’s lips curved slightly, and she raised an eyebrow at Shen Hanzhi. “President Shen is joking. Mumu is my daughter. When did we have a baby?”
“It’s Mumu. Little Jin, stop teasing me. I know you’re Little Jin,” Shen Hanzhi said, leaning in to hold Wen Jin’s hand, but Wen Jin dodged.
“President Shen, watch your words. If you keep talking nonsense, I won’t go out with you,” Wen Jin said, smiling and raising an eyebrow, her expression relaxed.
“Fine, no holding then,” Shen Hanzhi said, thinking the little bad bunny was stingy for not even letting her touch her hand.
They chatted and laughed as they went downstairs. Wen Jin’s secretary and assistant exchanged looks, both wearing expressions like they’d uncovered a big secret.
When had their boss been so easygoing? Men who tried to pursue her never got a smile.
Shen Hanzhi opened the car door for Wen Jin to sit in the passenger seat and drove toward the city. “Let’s eat at the private restaurant on Business Street. You’ll like it.”
“Really? President Shen seems to know my tastes well?” Wen Jin said, leaning back in the seat, her eyes scanning Shen Hanzhi.
