- Chapter 3 - The Joy of Breaking the Maiden's Barrier?
At four o’clock in the afternoon, He Ning made an excuse to leave work early.
Firstly, she felt uncomfortable under Bai Lu’s frequent, intense gazes.
Secondly, a crucial event was about to unfold at a nearby café that day.
Inside the café near the office:
JK A: “Do you think my boyfriend is cheating on me? He hasn’t asked me out lately, and he doesn’t even text me at night anymore.”
JK B: “What era are you living in? Why guess? Download this app—it lets you monitor his phone. Every click, every purchase, even every message… you’ll know everything.”
Terrifying. Are these young girls really this possessive?
Even though this scenario was part of the game’s storyline, witnessing it in real life still shocked He Ning.
“Um… what app is that? Could you tell me?”
“Wow, pretty lady, is your boyfriend cheating too?” The two girls looked incredulous.
“Well, sort of.”
After obtaining the surveillance software, He Ning ordered a coffee and waited until 6:30 PM before hurrying back to the office.
Today, Bai Lu was likely to forget her phone, providing the perfect opportunity to act.
Standing outside the main entrance, He Ning heard rustling sounds coming from the women’s restroom.
Peeking inside, she saw Yellow Hair, her colleague, installing a pinhole camera.
This was originally the protagonist’s mission, but it seemed someone else would take over even if she didn’t act.
That bastard had a crush on Bai Lu and always found ways to get close to her.
Silently, she entered the office. As expected, Bai Lu’s phone lay quietly on the desk.
Click!
The phone unlocked directly to the home screen.
This idiot doesn’t even lock her phone?
“He Ning? Don’t tell me you’re here to work overtime?”
Yellow Hair, flustered by her presence, pushed open the door.
“Nonsense! I forgot something and came back for it!” He Ning waved her lipstick.
“Wow, such a nasty attitude! You’ll never get married!”
He scoffed, closed the door, and seemed to chat briefly with someone in the hallway before falling silent.
Once she confirmed Yellow Hair was gone, He Ning entered the restroom. Following her memory, she found two button-sized cameras hidden in the tissue box and inside the toilet bowl rim.
Hmph, my Xiao Lu! No one is allowed to look at her!
Flush!
The cameras, worth two thousand gold coins each, were flushed down the drain.
Leaving the company, He Ning breathed a sigh of relief. Now she could monitor Bai Lu’s every move.
The setting sun cast long, distorted shadows, painting the sky in soothing orange hues. Yet He Ning felt a growing unease.
This “Bai Lu” might not be the gentle lamb she seemed, but a wolf ready to pounce.
Could it be that I’ve started believing my own fiction?
As darkness fell, He Ning hurried to Bai Lu’s apartment. Standing before the door, she hesitated.
Tap-tap-tap…
The sound of her high heels striking the pavement echoed like the footsteps of a vengeful spirit in a horror movie, making her already nervous legs tremble.
“Ningning, what are you doing here?”
Behind her stood Bai Lu, a faint smile playing on her lips.
“Oh… I, uh, forgot my lipstick. And since I saw you didn’t have your phone, I thought I’d bring it over.”
“Thank you!” Bai Lu’s soft body pressed lightly against hers, enveloping He Ning in a captivating fragrance.
Hmm? Fried skewers?
Seeing He Ning’s hungry expression, Bai Lu giggled.
“Let’s eat together! I was actually planning to find you anyway. I waited forever to get these!”
A popular spot, no wonder she’s back so late.
“Okay! It’s been ages since we ate together.”
Tap!
Bai Lu gently flicked He Ning’s forehead.
“Silly! We just had lunch together!”
Still, these fried skewers were indeed delicious—fresh, sweet, and savory. And with such a beautiful companion, it would be wonderful if things could always be like this.
“I should head home now. It’s getting late,” He Ning said, standing up. She nearly stumbled, but Bai Lu caught her in time.
“You must be exhausted. It’s too dark and dangerous to walk alone. Stay here tonight. We can sleep together.”
Though she desperately wanted to go back, He Ning couldn’t possibly refuse in this situation.
She agreed, partly to confirm whether Bai Lu was behaving normally.
Just one night—it should be fine, right?
“So thirsty…”
In the middle of the night, He Ning woke up with an unbearable dryness and itch in her throat. She found herself in complete darkness, unable to move her body.
A sweet, cloying scent filled her mouth. In the boundless darkness, a pair of bewitching purple eyes stared intently at her.
Warm, tickling breath brushed against her ear.
“Ningning, it’s all your fault for being so adorable. Your big sister just couldn’t resist~”
So, I’m still dreaming after all.
He Ning woke up to Bai Lu’s gentle smile. The sight was incredibly soothing.
“Xiao Lu, what’s this?” He Ning asked, her body restrained by straps meant for psychiatric patients, leaving her unable to move.
“Oh, you drank too much last night and suddenly started crying and acting out. One moment you were trying to slit your throat, the next you were trying to hang yourself. I was afraid you’d hurt yourself, so I tied you up.”
He Ning had no memory of falling asleep or any of these events.
Bai Lu chuckled as she released the restraints. When He Ning asked why such restraints were even available, Bai Lu simply smiled enigmatically.
“Ugh, my stomach hurts so much,” He Ning groaned, getting out of bed with wobbly legs.
“I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have let you eat such greasy food and drink so much. It’s my fault.”
“It’s okay. Where’s my underwear?” He Ning asked, awkwardly clutching the blanket around herself. For some reason, she felt even more embarrassed around another woman.
The old He Ning had been a loser who’d never even held a girl’s hand. Now, she’d spent the night with Bai Lu, and to be honest, she was deeply moved.
“You sweated a lot, so I washed it. It’s still drying. Wear mine for now.” Bai Lu handed her a sophisticated black outfit, her gaze slightly evasive.
“Xiao Lu, this is a bit too big for me…”
“Haha, that just means you have potential! Black really suits you, though.”
A faint blush rose on both their faces.
At eight o’clock sharp, the two boarded the subway to head to the office.
During the morning rush hour, the train was packed like sardines, making it nearly impossible to find a seat.
Suddenly, He Ning felt a soft, small hand groping her body.
What is this?
Some things, if you don’t do them, someone else will, and eventually, they’ll end up happening to you anyway.
Beside her, Bai Lu stared blankly out the window at the palm-sized patch of sky, lost in thought.
The day passed smoothly, and He Ning left work promptly at six o’clock, taking the most direct route home.
Despite occasional events that could have improved Bai Lu’s affection level, it seemed entirely focused on He Ning herself.
She felt mentally exhausted by the overwhelming disparity.
After all, the game had become reality, and things wouldn’t follow the original plot exactly.
“My stomach still hurts… Could that restaurant have been one of those trendy ‘national style’ rice bowl places?”
Whatever. I’m bored anyway. He Ning, with no experience with the opposite s3x, hadn’t yet fully explored the wonders of this exquisite body.
