Are You Trying to Mark Me? (GL, ABO) - Chapter 12
Early the next morning, Min Wenyi woke up earlier than ever before.
After all, there was someone in her arms, so sleeping in was a bit difficult for her. One hand wrapped around Yu Ran’s waist, while the other circled her neck, holding her tightly close.
Because of the position, Yu Ran looked uncomfortable, her small brows furrowed slightly, showing a displeased expression.
Min Wenyi thought for a long time before finally lowering her hand from Yu Ran’s waist.
After what happened last night, Min Wenyi’s mood had settled down a bit. Whether it was while sleeping or waking up, she no longer felt the impulse she had felt that night.
So she concluded that there was nothing wrong with her.
Getting out of bed, Min Wenyi started undressing as she walked toward the bathroom. She was used to this kind of morning and didn’t care whether the person in bed was awake or not.
When Yu Ran opened her eyes, she saw Min Wenyi taking off her nightdress and pacing around the bedroom.
With her movements, that full, round figure passed right before Yu Ran’s eyes.
Yu Ran: “…”
Waking up to see her boss naked was really tough on her…
Min Wenyi went into the bathroom, and only then did Yu Ran climb out of bed.
She touched her left shoulder, then her right thigh.
Hmm, no injuries.
Looks like last night was just a normal night’s sleep, and nothing happened.
Stretching lazily, Yu Ran got up, made the bed, picked up Min Wenyi’s clothes that had been tossed on the floor, threw them in the laundry basket, and headed downstairs.
After Min Wenyi finished her shower and stepped out drying her hair, she saw the empty bed and knew her assistant was already awake.
Dressed, she heard voices coming from downstairs.
Soon, a fluffy little orange cat quietly sneaked up the stairs, twisting its body as it went…
Yu Ran stirred the dumpling filling while watching Lu An peeling garlic with his head down.
“Do you have any food allergies or things you can’t eat?”
“Anything but human meat,” he said.
“…You really have a good appetite.”
Before they could say more, Min Wenyi came downstairs, one hand holding the cat and the other gripping her scratched-up robe.
“This is your cat,” Min Wenyi tossed sunflower seeds into Lu An’s lap. “Don’t let it climb onto my bed.”
Lu An took the seeds. The little creature looked scared by Min Wenyi’s aura, drooping its ears and looking at its owner with watery eyes. “Meow…”
“You scared it,” Lu An said helplessly. “It just wants to get close to people.”
Min Wenyi didn’t scold it further and turned to Yu Ran, asking, “Did you see my phone when you were sleeping last night?”
Yu Ran thought for a moment and replied, “When I woke up, you were in the shower, so I tidied the bed and put your phone on the bedside table. Didn’t you see it?”
Min Wenyi rubbed her head in frustration, “I couldn’t find it. I thought you took it down after you got up.”
“No, I didn’t. I don’t touch your stuff.”
“Can you try calling it?”
“Okay.”
Lu An, sitting nearby and listening, had an indescribable expression as he looked at the two of them and said, “You two… did you sleep together last night?”
Yu Ran immediately blushed and waved her hand, “No…”
Min Wenyi didn’t deny it. When her phone rang, she said, “Yeah, we slept together last night.”
For a moment, only the ringtone filled the room.
Lu An looked unhappy and stood up, clutching the sunflower seeds. “I, I have something to do. I’ll go now.”
Yu Ran blushed and wanted to stop him, but before she could say anything, he had already rushed off.
You can’t blame Lu An for his expression. Anyone would jump to conclusions hearing that their boss and assistant slept together. No wonder he looked so upset.
Yu Ran suspected Lu An might like Min Wenyi, so hearing that she slept with Yu Ran probably hit him hard.
“Boss,” Yu Ran walked over to Min Wenyi, feeling awkward. “What you said just now… maybe wasn’t a good idea.”
Min Wenyi looked at her without much care. “What’s not good about it?”
“Talking about us sleeping together.”
“That’s the truth. What’s wrong with that?”
Yu Ran pursed her lips and said, “But Lu An seems to like you…”
Min Wenyi paused. How had she never noticed Lu An liked her? Thinking it over, maybe Yu Ran misunderstood because of his Omega status. She sighed and said, “You’re overthinking it.”
Without saying more, Min Wenyi grabbed her phone and went upstairs. She still had things to deal with today.
Watching Min Wenyi’s back as she left, Yu Ran thought she should go find Lu An and talk.
If Lu An really liked Min Wenyi, what she just said must have hurt him a lot. Before, Yu Ran might not have cared, but after spending so much time together, she knew that although Lu An was a bit sharp-tongued, he was still a good person.
Knock knock knock—
Yu Ran knocked on Lu An’s door.
She heard some noise from inside, but it took a long time before Lu An finally opened it.
His room was still pitch black, only the glow from his computer screen lighting up the dark space, making it hard to see clearly.
“Um…” Yu Ran spoke first, “There’s nothing going on between Min Wenyi and me.”
Lu An paused, then said, “I know.”
Worried he might be overthinking, Yu Ran added, “I’m really sorry about what happened last night.”
Lu An looked confused. “Why are you apologizing to me?”
Yu Ran didn’t know how to answer and just lowered her head silently.
Looking at Yu Ran’s small face, Lu An’s expression softened slightly. He pressed his lips and said, “I’ve always seen you as a friend, so I want to ask you something.”
“…Go ahead.”
“When you slept with Min Wenyi, how did it feel?”
Yu Ran: “…” What?
Lu An: “…Never mind if you don’t want to answer. Just forget I asked.”
He then told Yu Ran, “I still have some things to handle. I’ll order takeout for lunch today, so you don’t have to cook for me.”
After that, Lu An closed the door.
Yu Ran looked at the reddish-brown door and sighed quietly, saying nothing.
Back in the living room, she could hear Min Wenyi upstairs on the phone with her manager discussing an ad shoot. Yu Ran didn’t want to disturb her, so she sat by the coffee table replying to fan messages.
About an hour later, after finishing her tasks, Yu Ran casually opened that little fanfic again.
Just now, Lu An had updated the latest chapter.
As she read it, Yu Ran’s brow furrowed a little.
——In the story——
Early the next morning, Yu Ran woke up in Min Wenyi’s arms. Her heart was pounding fast, and the person behind her was sound asleep.
Last night’s passionate chaos made Yu Ran’s legs tremble. She bit her silver teeth, trying to get up, but she whimpered softly and fell back into Min Wenyi’s embrace.
“What’s wrong?” Min Wenyi, already awake, caught the little one who had fallen into her arms and chuckled, “Want more already so soon?”
Yu Ran blushed, “There are guests at home today. We can’t…”
“It’s okay. Let the guests wait. You’re especially charming today. I’m so hungry—I want to eat you up.”
“Boss… mm… hmm…”
…Jiangjiang…
…Niangniang…
——End of story——
Yu Ran looked up and thought carefully.
After she moved, the story moved too.
They had just slept together last night, and the newest chapter showed the exact same scene.
She couldn’t help but glance up at the second-floor hallway. The sound of Min Wenyi talking was gone. No one knew what she was doing.
There are always coincidences in the world, but when all these coincidences pile up, it’s no longer just coincidence.
At dinner, Yu Ran looked at Min Wenyi and hesitated before saying, “Boss, I want to ask you something.”
Min Wenyi: “Hmm?”
Yu Ran: “Do you write novels?”
Min Wenyi looked up and gave her a glance, shaking the chopsticks in her hand with a smile, “Do you think I write novels?”
That would be ridiculous. Who writes fanfic about themselves and their assistant?
But oddly, many things were only known to this one person right here.
No, maybe not just one person…
“Boss, do you know the author ‘Lu An’?”
Yu Ran wanted to ask, just in case Min Wenyi had told a friend.
Min Wenyi shook her head. “She’s been writing fanfic about me for so long, but I’ve never met her. Why? Suddenly interested?”
“Oh, nothing,” Yu Ran said awkwardly, “I just wanted to ask because it seems pretty popular.”
Min Wenyi nodded, “Her fanfic is always famous.”
“Does your manager not want to deal with it?”
“She’s good at drawing attention to me. As long as it’s not too wild, they usually don’t stop her.”
“Oh.”
Seeing Yu Ran deep in thought, Min Wenyi put down her chopsticks. “If you can find this person, I’d really like to meet her. My agency wants to publish my autobiography soon, and maybe this person knows me better than I do.”
Yu Ran was stunned. “Autobiography?”
Min Wenyi smiled. “So, here’s a new mission for you. This person always refuses the agency’s invitations. If you can secretly find her, I’ll give you a reward.”
Looking at Min Wenyi’s eager eyes, Yu Ran shrugged, “I’ll do my best…”
But she hoped she wouldn’t actually get any reward—it didn’t sound like anything good.
Glancing at the laptop on the coffee table, Yu Ran suddenly got an idea.
Since this person knows so much about their lives, it must be someone close by. If she can’t find her, why not try to lure her out?
She turned to Min Wenyi and said, “Boss, let’s sleep together again tonight!”
Min Wenyi looked up at her enthusiastic assistant and smiled.
“Okay~”
