Are You Trying to Mark Me? (GL, ABO) - Chapter 14
One crazy embarrassing picture after another flashed on the projector. Yu Ran squeezed her eyes shut tightly, but her hands were tied by Lu An, and she couldn’t break free.
“Don’t do this…” Yu Ran said miserably, tears in her voice, “Why are you treating me like this?”
Who actually shows the person involved their own embarrassing photos? This was pure torture!
Why not just show your own instead?!
Lu An watched Yu Ran, whose face was red all over, with amused interest and a big smile.
“Because you know too much. You’re the only one who knows my true identity, so I can’t keep you around.”
Yu Ran opened her eyes, blushing and angry as she looked at him.
“I’m going to tell Min Wenyi.”
“If you dare, I’ll make you watch these embarrassing photos every day.”
Yu Ran whimpered, “Ugh…”
Boss, this guy is a demon!
Lu An reached out and lifted Yu Ran’s delicate chin, forcing her to look up.
“Do you like it?” he asked, looking down at her with a big grin. “I have plenty more of these embarrassing photos of you and Wenyi.”
Ahhhhhhhhhh!!
Help me!!!
Yu Ran didn’t know how long this humiliating “torture” went on. She was almost out of energy, feeling her emotions wildly unstable from being triggered by those photos. Her face was burning red, and she couldn’t say a word.
Finally, Lu An stopped messing around and untied her.
“Assistant, if you tell Wenyi, I won’t let you off. Got it?”
Pushed out the door against her will, Yu Ran ran home crying.
Min Wenyi, who didn’t find her assistant at home, was sitting on the sofa scrolling through her phone. When she saw Yu Ran looking like she’d been boiled, she asked in surprise, “Where did you go?”
To hell!!!
Yu Ran’s eyes were red and full of tears.
“Waaahhhh…”
In the end, Yu Ran couldn’t hold it in and burst into tears, throwing herself into Min Wenyi’s arms.
“That little bastard Lu An, waaahhh! He humiliated me!”
Confused, Min Wenyi gave a bitter smile and gently patted Yu Ran’s back.
“Lu An bullied you?”
Waaahhh—
Yu Ran cried like a little duck.
Min Wenyi hugged her tightly and comforted her, “Why are you worrying so much about a kid barely eighteen or nineteen? And crying that hard too. What did he do to you?”
Yu Ran shook her head, too scared to say.
She was afraid she’d be forced to watch those embarrassing photos every day.
Min Wenyi didn’t push her to explain. They were close enough now; it probably wasn’t anything too serious.
…Right?
After crying enough, Yu Ran finally lifted her head.
“Your eyes are all swollen.”
Min Wenyi reached out, rubbing Yu Ran’s tear-streaked eyes with her thumb and smiled softly.
“I’ll get you an ice pack.”
Before Yu Ran could refuse, Min Wenyi went to the kitchen, opened the fridge, wrapped some ice in a clean towel, tied it with a rubber band, and came back to the sofa.
Yu Ran tilted her head back and let Min Wenyi put the ice pack on her eyes. She said quietly, “I won’t cook for Lu An anymore.”
Min Wenyi smiled, lips pressed together, then noticed some bruises on Yu Ran’s wrist.
“What happened to your hand?”
Yu Ran looked at her hand, which was swollen and sore—probably from struggling when she was tied up.
Seeing Yu Ran hurt made Min Wenyi frown.
“Hold the ice pack, I’ll get the first aid kit.”
Yu Ran nodded and told her, “The first aid kit is under the TV cabinet.”
“I know.”
Min Wenyi got the kit, sat beside Yu Ran, and started treating her injuries. Her long eyelashes fluttered like tiny fans with every move.
Yu Ran remembered from those embarrassing photos Lu An showed her that Min Wenyi had been putting on mascara.
She didn’t want to think about the details anymore, but the memory still made her heart flutter.
Her hand felt cool, but her face was burning hot.
Yu Ran looked away, not wanting to meet Min Wenyi’s eyes.
“All done.”
After a while, Min Wenyi released her hand and said, “You can look at me now.”
Yu Ran shrank her neck, then looked at Min Wenyi and whispered, “Thank you…”
The assistant blushing like that looked especially cute. Min Wenyi thought for a moment and said, “It’s late now. Let’s go upstairs and sleep.”
“To-day…” Yu Ran said quietly, “I want to sleep alone…”
Min Wenyi was silent for a moment, then nodded, “Alright, then rest early.”
She didn’t ask why and went upstairs.
Yu Ran looked at her back, feeling a little guilty.
Even though it was Min Wenyi who first suggested sleeping together, in the following week it was Yu Ran who suggested it every time. Now, she was the one who started it but was also the one who said no.
That made Yu Ran feel a bit bad inside.
But after reading the little fanfic about herself and the boss, Yu Ran wasn’t sure what might happen if she slept with Min Wenyi again.
It felt like some unstable feelings inside her were acting up, so that night Yu Ran took two extra doses of suppressants.
Even so, Min Wenyi’s figure still appeared in her dreams.
She wore a white long dress, the feathered skirt flowing softly at her feet, elegant and beautiful like a goddess. She gently stroked Yu Ran’s cheek and left a kiss at the corner of her lips.
Yu Ran was a little dazed, feeling her body become unusually light.
She stood on tiptoe, blushing, and kissed Min Wenyi’s lips.
The touch was so real it made her dizzy.
The next morning.
Yu Ran woke up feeling like she hadn’t slept well all night.
After all, Min Wenyi’s bed was much more comfortable. After getting used to it, her own bed felt like a slab of marble—hard like a typical guy’s bed.
When she came out of the bedroom, she saw Min Wenyi busy in the kitchen.
Hearing the soft steps of fluffy slippers, Min Wenyi turned and asked, “You woke up pretty early today.”
Yu Ran widened her eyes and ran over to look at what Min Wenyi was holding. She asked curiously, “Why are you boiling eggs?”
Min Wenyi chuckled, “Since I woke up early, I thought I’d try cooking a little.”
Yu Ran found it amazing but didn’t say much, just busied herself helping Min Wenyi.
When breakfast was ready, their front door rang.
“Knock knock knock—”
The hungry ghost was knocking again.
Lu An opened the door and saw Yu Ran trembling like a leaf. He smiled, “Good morning. What’s for breakfast today?”
Min Wenyi put a boiled egg in front of Lu An and said, “Eat the boiled eggs I made.”
Lu An looked disgusted.
Thinking about how she’d been forced to watch that little fanfic for over half an hour last night, Yu Ran felt a little uneasy and said, “If you don’t like that, I can toast you two slices of bread.”
Before Lu An could answer, Min Wenyi grabbed Yu Ran’s hand and said, “You worked hard enough last night. Don’t bother making breakfast.”
As soon as she said that, Lu An, who was peeling an egg, stopped in his tracks.
Yu Ran looked at Min Wenyi, confused. Something about that sentence felt off.
Min Wenyi glanced at the corner of Yu Ran’s eye and said, “It’s still swollen.”
Clang!
Lu An accidentally dropped his stainless-steel fork on the floor. He looked up at the two of them without saying a word.
But his eyes seemed to say a thousand things!
Yu Ran shook her head hard, “It’s not what you think. I didn’t…”
Min Wenyi held Yu Ran’s hand, pulled it closer, and looked at it carefully. “See, the hand you hurt yesterday still has bruises. I’m going out today, so you better stay home and rest.”
“Ugh, boss, don’t say that!”
“Didn’t you see that little devil sitting across the table with eyes ready to pop out?”
Lu An watched the two holding hands and couldn’t help but laugh, “You two really get along well.”
Yu Ran’s hair stood on end!
She had a bad feeling she was about to be forced into a crying scene again today!
Lu An was very happy to finally ship the couple he liked. He swallowed the love-filled boiled egg cooked by Min Wenyi in one bite, grinning as he hugged a bowl of sunflower seeds and left.
As he closed the door behind him, the little devil laughed and said, “Then I won’t disturb you anymore. Wenyi, little assistant, I’ll come back tonight~”
“Don’t come back!!!!”
Yu Ran was tearful but had no choice. She could only whimper softly and pitifully say to Min Wenyi, “Mm… I want to go out with you too.”
After all, if she stayed home, who knows how the little bastard across the way might ‘torment’ her.
Seeing her assistant so ‘reluctant to part,’ Min Wenyi was almost bubbling with happiness.
Although it wasn’t suitable to bring Yu Ran to that place, it was hard to say no when the other begged so earnestly.
“Then don’t lose me when you come with me.”
Yu Ran nodded. She definitely wouldn’t let go.
An hour later.
The two arrived at the entertainment company where Min Wenyi was signed. As soon as they entered, they were warmly welcomed.
Min Wenyi was dressed sharply today—in a black suit and cropped suit pants, showing her clean white ankles. Her black high-heeled leather shoes clicked loudly on the marble floor.
Taking off her sunglasses, Min Wenyi turned to look at the little one trailing behind her and tilted her head, “Hurry up and follow me, the elevator’s about to close.”
“Ah? Oh!”
Yu Ran ran over and stood beside Min Wenyi, looking up, “This place looks amazing.”
Min Wenyi smiled, “Want to work here?”
Yu Ran nodded.
Min Wenyi glanced down at her and poked her round little nose, “Work here isn’t as easy as you think.”
Just as they were talking, the elevator doors slowly opened.
They turned to see Chu Jiazhi talking quietly with his manager. When he saw Min Wenyi, he gave a graceful smile.
“Wenyi, I’ve been waiting for you.”
Chu Jiazhi stood there like a beautiful peacock. He glanced at Yu Ran beside Min Wenyi and said, “Wasn’t it agreed you’d come alone today?”
