Are You Trying to Mark Me? (GL, ABO) - Chapter 30
Besides setting the departure date, everything else with the production team was already arranged. It gave Min Wenyi the feeling that everything was ready—just waiting for her to give the final okay.
Why did she suddenly feel like she was being tricked?
Yu Ran was packing her things in the room. Since the filming was expected to last about a month, she couldn’t bring too few items.
She glanced at the suppression inhibitors in the cabinet and decided to bring two extra bottles, just in case one got lost or something happened. That way, she’d have backups.
Meanwhile, Min Wenyi was upstairs, staring at two books in front of her, unsure which one to bring along.
After thinking it over, Min Wenyi decided she shouldn’t be overly cautious just because Yu Ran was an Omega. After all, Yu Ran had been around her for a while without any issues.
Min Wenyi chose to ignore the moments when she felt like biting Yu Ran, and that impulse in the car after the party, firmly believing none of it was a problem.
Besides, bringing those two books along might cause people to misunderstand her as some strange kind of Alpha, so it was better to leave them behind.
She packed up quickly; Min Wenyi didn’t like bringing too many things.
Because she often had to bring a lot of stuff back from trips, she preferred to travel light before leaving.
Just then, Yu Ran came upstairs and knocked on Min Wenyi’s door.
“Yi Qiao’s car is downstairs. Boss, have you finished packing?”
Min Wenyi answered casually, “I’m coming.”
She took a careful look at The Five Signs of Omega Heat and decided to hide it away first.
When Yu Ran dragged a suitcase to put into the trunk, Yi Qiao leaned on the car frame and said casually, “Are you sure you don’t want me to go instead of Yu Ran? The production team probably doesn’t even know who the assistant is. I bet most people bring their managers.”
After all, compared to assistants who take care of celebrities’ daily lives, managers were more polished and knew how to handle urgent situations.
Min Wenyi shook her head, pulled on her mask, and said, “The production team specifically asked for an assistant. If you went, it would be obvious.”
Yi Qiao pouted but didn’t argue further.
Let’s just pretend she hadn’t asked.
Yu Ran watched the two of them chatting about things she didn’t understand and just cheerfully played the part of a hard worker, putting Min Wenyi’s luggage into the trunk.
The suitcase was pretty heavy. Yu Ran felt okay lifting it, but when she tried to place it inside, her arm cramped.
Slap—
Just as the suitcase was about to drop, a pair of hands caught it.
“Be careful.”
Without Yu Ran noticing, Min Wenyi appeared behind her. She bent down and used some strength to shove the heavy suitcase inside.
Yu Ran’s back was pressed against Min Wenyi’s chest. Even though Min Wenyi was wearing a thick cotton jacket, Yu Ran could still feel her warm body heat.
“Th-thank you.”
Yu Ran quickly reached out to help organize the other items, making space for another suitcase.
Yi Qiao, sitting in the car, couldn’t see what was happening behind because of the angle. She just boredly adjusted the radio, trying to find a good song.
After they finished loading the luggage, the two of them didn’t leave.
Min Wenyi was taller than Yu Ran, and she naturally gave off the strong presence of an Alpha. So Yu Ran usually felt passive around her. After putting the luggage away, Min Wenyi showed no sign of leaving, which made Yu Ran a bit curious.
“What’s wrong?” Yu Ran asked cautiously, wondering if she had done something to upset Min Wenyi.
Probably not?
Yu Ran thought she was well-behaved, good at cooking, and generally without big flaws.
“Did you bring your suppressants?” Min Wenyi asked, looking down at Yu Ran, who avoided her gaze.
“We’re flying out today. I’ll ask the production team to arrange a separate room for you,” she continued.
Originally, there were four stars, each with their own room. The assistants were to share two rooms.
But since Yu Ran’s Omega status was special, Min Wenyi had already called the director. Still, they hadn’t given a definite answer.
Yu Ran nodded quickly. “I brought them, I brought them. Just in case something happens, I even brought two bottles.”
Min Wenyi pursed her lips and reached out to rub Yu Ran’s head.
The two of them hadn’t been this naturally close in a long time. Yu Ran blushed slightly, her eyes shining as she looked up at Min Wenyi.
“Thank you, boss,” Yu Ran smiled. “Keeping this secret for me has really helped a lot.”
Min Wenyi paused and said, “It’s not just for you.”
If news got out that Min Wenyi was living with an Omega assistant, she’d probably be in trouble too.
Seeing Yu Ran so happy, Min Wenyi didn’t say more. She pulled back her hand and turned to get into the car.
Yi Qiao, who was driving, glanced at the two inside. Not sure if it was just her imagination, but she felt the atmosphere between them was a bit strange.
And somehow, Yu Ran’s status seemed to have risen?
She didn’t say it out loud, but as she drove, Yi Qiao kept glancing between Yu Ran and Min Wenyi, her eyes shifting back and forth.
Since the flight was scheduled for the afternoon, by the time they arrived at the airport, the waiting hall was already crowded.
Yu Ran followed behind Min Wenyi, watching the light boards flashing Min Wenyi’s name and feeling a bit amazed.
Min Wenyi was used to it though—she pushed her hat up and waved at the crowd.
Wenyi, please be careful during your performances!
No matter what you’re filming, we’ll watch it all. But please don’t overwork yourself!
This is something we’re giving you—please make sure to accept it!
Ahhhhhh, Wenyi, can you sign for me? On my shirt, please!
Yu Ran watched the excited fans and thought this was already quite lively. But before she could think more, an even louder cheer came from nearby.
Chu Jiazhi! Chu Jiazhi! Chu Jiazhi!
Ahhh, my perfect male idol! He looks a hundred times better in person than in photos!
Such perfect skin and a face so white! Ahhh, I want to die in his arms!
The wild, wolf-like shouting made Yu Ran instinctively turn her head. She saw a familiar figure wearing a bright red leather jacket, smiling and chatting with the crowd.
He was here too?
Yu Ran felt curious, and Chu Jiazhi clearly heard the shouts for Min Wenyi’s fans and turned his head over.
Seeing Min Wenyi surrounded by fans and Yu Ran standing there staring blankly, Chu Jiazhi happily waved hello.
Without hesitation, he grabbed his suitcase and walked over.
“Wenyi, long time no see.”
Chu Jiazhi greeted warmly. Min Wenyi glanced at him and replied dryly, “Hmm.”
They had just met a few days ago, yet it sounded like they hadn’t seen each other in ages.
The two groups of fans had gathered in quite a large crowd. Security quickly came to keep things under control and prevent any accidents.
Chu Jiazhi’s fans shouted, “Ahhh, Wenyi sister, please sign for me too! Sign right next to Jiazhi brother’s autograph—I want to hold it and sleep with it forever!”
Min Wenyi’s fans called back, “Hello over there, fans! I want your brother’s autograph too! Come sign it on my chest! Brother, please take good care of our Wenyi!”
Yu Ran was startled by the scene. The “everyone’s family” vibe left her a bit dazed, so she instinctively took a few steps back, away from the noisy center.
At that moment, Yu Ran spotted someone sitting not far away. He wore a gray baseball cap and was watching the crowd with envy. When their eyes met briefly, he immediately looked away coldly.
It was Lu An.
Yu Ran walked over and smiled, “Why are you here too?”
Lu An hugged his suitcase and said helplessly, “Don’t you know? I’m also a guest on this show.”
Yu Ran really hadn’t known this. Sitting next to Lu An, she smiled, “So this time, everyone on the show is someone you know?”
Lu An didn’t answer. His usual bit of pride was gone; in front of others, he only showed a cool aloofness.
Before Yu Ran could call him out on the act, a girl walked over.
Lu An looked up at her.
“Hi, are you a celebrity too?”
The girl had a rosy, cute face and looked very sweet.
Lu An nodded, “Yes.”
“Ah,” the girl said happily, “then can you sign for me too?”
In that moment, Yu Ran felt the air freeze.
There was nothing wrong with the girl’s words, but somehow they sounded especially cold.
Lu An didn’t expect it either and was a little stunned.
“Uh…”
Yu Ran wanted to smooth things over but Lu An beat her to it.
“Okay.”
He took the autograph book, saw many other stars’ signatures, and guessed this was a fan who waited at airports for autographs. Maybe she didn’t know who he was, but since he was a “celebrity,” she asked for a signature.
Free stuff anyway — maybe she could sell it later.
Lu An moved his pen and signed his name, then handed it back.
“Thank you~”
The girl happily hugged the book and ran off. Yu Ran looked back at Lu An and said, “I thought you were going to get mad just now.”
Lu An curled his lips and pulled his cap down.
“How could I not be mad?” he said sadly. “I’m so angry.”
Everyone bullied him for being less famous. He didn’t even get to welcome anyone at the airport. But he refused to believe he wouldn’t be popular someday!
Not far away, two people watched this scene and turned their heads in sync.
To go from unknown to famous, a celebrity really needs time and experience.
Luckily, Lu An was still young.
“Time’s about up,” Chu Jiazhi signed the last autograph and said to everyone, “We’re heading to the plane now. Thanks for seeing us off, and be careful going home~”
Min Wenyi looked back at Yu Ran who was running over. She quietly tugged her hand and pulled her closer.
“What is it?”
Yu Ran thought she had something to tell her, so she leaned in.
Min Wenyi said a bit possessively, “When you’re out, stay away from those disgusting men.”
