Well, considering some of their members died, it’s understandable… even if it was their own fault.

Yeah… I want to blame that b1tch, but I wouldn’t want anything to disrupt Bujin-sama’s activities.

They just went into the dungeon together—it’s taking a little longer than usual, that’s all!

Damn, that scared me.

Wait, but is that normal? For them to go off alone like that?

I can’t speak for other parties, but in ours, yeah, it happens sometimes.

Especially with those two.

Phew, that’s a relief.

190 Don’t freak us out like that!

- S. Ryuya
Knowing those two, it’s definitely not an accident. So don’t worry.

I see. But when I checked the Guild’s records, there was only a log showing that the two of them entered.
- dw
Aren’t they usually required to leave some kind of exploration notes?

- Kurondo Sasaki
Huh?! What the hell are you talking about?!

That’s probably just a recording error. It’s not a big deal.

Let’s talk about something more fun!
□ Sawamura Ryuya
Damn it. What kind of idiot would post something like that?
And “a suspicious light in the lower levels of Musashino Dungeon”?
If that’s true… those two morons went straight to the hidden room?
I told them to be careful.
They didn’t actually kidnap anyone on the way, did they?
Seriously… just because they couldn’t get their hands on that Hanashiro Yuzuha girl last time thanks to that demon, they had to go and do something reckless?
The Guild shut down their investigation, but that doesn’t mean we’re safe.
Not after leaving behind such a grotesque scene.
We need to act like we’re under scrutiny.
Yet those idiots got spotted by other explorers?
And now, they’re missing…?
If I find them, they’re dead.
I never should’ve relied on trash like them.
Just because they were a little strong, they got cocky.
I had planned to use them for another attempt once things cooled down—then discard them.
But now… I may need to rethink my approach.
I have to track them down, recover that stone, and silence them permanently.
“Ryuya, what now? Are we seriously going after them? …Wait, you don’t think Bujin and Meri are just having fun in there, do you?”
Kurondo Sasaki, the swordsman, spoke up, making no effort to conceal his one-track mind.
Like I care about that right now.
If they really are playing around in the hidden room, I might just kill them myself.
“Hey, you listening?!”
“Sorry, I was thinking. Yeah, we should definitely go after them. They were being reckless—we need to make sure they’re not drawing unnecessary attention.”
I needed to keep my emotions in check.
Right now, I was their so-called strategist.
And this idiot—if ignored—would throw a tantrum.
These fools were disposable.
But I still needed them.
For now.
“Huh? Oh… yeah, makes sense. Damn, they’re lucky. So unfair.”
Seriously?
Getting jealous over something that hasn’t even been confirmed…
“Golden Hawk is at a crucial turning point. If we want to climb higher, we need to secure better gear and stronger members. We can’t afford to screw up now. The leader is probably just humoring Meri, but he needs to think things through more carefully.”
“Then let’s go find them!”
Without an ounce of understanding, the idiot bolted forward—his crotch slightly bulging as he ran.
Disgusting.
I did my best to ignore it and followed.
“I’m coming with you.”
A woman’s voice called out, her tone sharp.
“Like Ryuya said, this is an important time for us. We can’t afford reckless mistakes.”
Oh?
Looks like she’s tagging along.
She had the look of someone serious, but in truth, she was just as self-serving as the rest of them.
She didn’t care what happened to others—only what benefited her.
And to think… she used to chat so casually with Hanashiro.
Yet when it came time to betray her, she didn’t even hesitate.
Jealousy, perhaps?
They’re all the same.
Selfish. Greedy.
Maybe it’d be easier if I just sacrificed the lot of them…
Suppressing that thought, I led them toward the lower-level safe zone of Musashino Dungeon.
And then…
“Here we go.”
I raised the stone—
Dark light appeared.
Stepping forward, we entered the hidden room.
The Stench Hit Me Immediately.
Ugh…
What the hell?
It had never smelled like this before.
The room was always dark and sterile—just another lifeless space.
But now…
Why does it stink so badly?
And this smell—
Human…?
“Hey! Over there!!”
Kurondo’s voice snapped my attention forward.
And what I saw—
“No way…”
A Demon.
Why is a demon here?
They’re only supposed to appear once in a while.
How did one show up again so soon?
“RUN!—Huh?!”
I spun on my heel, lunging toward the dark light—
But it was gone.
“Ryuya… why is there no exit?”
“Sh1t! We’re trapped?!”
There was no way out.
This had never happened before.
And then—
I saw them.
“Bujin…! Meri…?!”
I approached.
Their bodies…
Their mangled bodies…
No—they were still alive.
Bujin lay in a pool of bl00d, his limbs bent at grotesque angles, slashed apart—so damaged, he’d never be an explorer again.
Meri’s body—covered in severe burn wounds, her dignity in shreds.
The stench was coming from them.
What the hell is this…?
Did the demon do this?
Why?
I had no answers.
But I did know one thing—
This was bad.
Really, really bad.
But we had no way to escape.
So we could only stand there, frozen in horror.
