Wow, I’ve gotten really strong… or have I? Before the {Evolution}, both my |Power| and |Speed| were 17. Considering that, |Speed| has increased, and |Power| has more than doubled, but… |Toughness| is so outstanding that it’s hard to compare. It would be nice to have a way to check other’s |Stats|, but it seems pointless to wish for what I don’t have.
“(At least my digestion rate has increased.)”
Since [Dissolution Liquid] relies on |Power|, I can now easily dissolve the hard-to-melt crayfish. This is definitely progress. I can proudly say I’ve become stronger than I was yesterday. There was a slogan at school that said something like that.
“(Next is the [Skills]. Let’s see…)”
‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐
Skill Details:
[Weapon Body]
-
- Makes it easier to transform your body into a weapon. When using your body as a weapon, it corrects weapon performance.
[Transient Martial Arts]
-
- Makes it easier to interrupt [Weapon Skills]. Corrects balance when [Weapon Skills] are activated.
[Body Repair]
-
- Consumes |Mana| to repair damage.
‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐
[Weapon Body] seems like a weapon-specific version of [Flexibility]. It looks useful and aligns well with my current tactics. The term “corrects weapon performance” is a bit abstract, but it likely means improved sharpness and strength. Since it’s a correction, it probably won’t be detrimental.
The second new [Skill] is [Transient Martial Arts]. This [Skill] enhances [Weapon Skills]. [Weapon Skills] include abilities like [Block] and [Whip], which use weaponry. Though, I’m using my own body, so I’m not actually using weaponry.
“(Let’s try [Slash].)”
I activate a [Weapon Skill] to check its effect. After a few tries, I start to notice differences. Simply put, my body has become less prone to flowing. Before, when using [Weapon Skills], I sometimes stumbled or lost balance from putting too much force. With this [Skill], I can immediately dissipate any extra force. This must be what “becomes easier to interrupt” means. The added “balance correction” seems to make it easier to chain [Weapon Skills].
“(And I also learned a bit about the performance of [Weapon Body].)”
This was a side effect of my earlier experiment. I cut a nearby branch, and the cross-section was smoother than ever. It’s clear that there’s an improvement in sharpness.
“(Lastly, [Body Repair]…)”
There’s not much to say about this. It’s a handy recovery [Skill]. Since there are enemies that can penetrate my |Toughness|, having an active recovery method is a good thing.
From just checking the |Status|, I can’t gauge the exact effect, but my |Life| is currently decreased. I’ll use [Body Repair] to heal up as a test.
“([Body Repair]!)”
I carefully pour |Mana| into the newly available ability. After recovering |Life| by 5, |Mana| decreased by 10.
“(Efficiency is about half.)”
My |Life| naturally recovers through [Self-Regeneration], and since |Status| doesn’t show decimal points, there might be some minor discrepancies. But for now, this understanding should be fine.
“(That’s the change in |Status|.)”
However, the benefits of {Evolution} aren’t limited to just that. Becoming a Jewel Weapon Slime has led to physical growth as well. Specifically, my diameter has more than doubled, meaning the volume is over eight times greater. Consequently, the parts that can be used as weapons have increased.
“(Dual-wielding!)”
Shing!
I extend whips from both sides, growing blades at their tips. The sharpness enhanced by [Weapon Body] is reminiscent of a Japanese sword. I haven’t actually seen a Japanese sword, but that’s the image I have. With this, even trees can be sliced in one cut—
“(Ha!)”
Crack!
—But it’s stopped after a bit of penetration.
“(…I might have been a bit too cautious. [Slash]!)”
Crack!
This time, the blade penetrated halfway, but it’s still far from cutting through completely.
“(…Tonight, I’m thirsty for bl00d!)”
A trial cut that doesn’t contribute to <Soul Fragments> is pointless. Also, the sun is nearing its zenith. I’ve just finished eating the crayfish, but due to the increase in volume from {Evolution}, I’m still far from full.
Thus, seeking both food and <Soul Fragments>, I set off wandering the forest.
