Banishment is Fine: As a Genius Saint, I Can Shine Anywhere. - Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Episode 2.1
It was surprising that they didn’t encounter any monsters on their way to the nearby town in search of water.
Even with the talismans made by saintesses before from regional temples, they had been still attacked by large monsters the same day they were applied. It was said that even talismans made by the central temple’s saintesses were not very effective against large monsters, so they just accepted it.
But now, with Meteora’s talismans, we haven’t encountered any monsters at all.
Her remarkable ability continued to impress them.
“Thanks to that, we reached the town in just an hour.”
Seeing the town ahead, Lionel sighed with relief. The miasma had lessened, and visibility improved. His subordinates also seemed relieved.
“Meteora, are you tired?”
“No. Unlike you, I got to ride a horse.”
Meteora, who was in the middle of the procession, replied while raising her staff lightly. Unlike the knights accustomed to marching, saintesses rarely left the temple, so it was foolish to make them walk.
Saintesses couldn’t heal their own injuries or ailments. If she got blisters on her feet, it would be troublesome. Meteora understood this, so she refused food but accepted riding the horse without hesitation.
The horses, revitalized by her healing in the miasma, were in great spirits. Usually, they would throw off anyone who rides in them they didn’t like, but they all seemed eager to carry Meteora.
“Aren’t you tired from walking?”
“I’ve enhanced my legs and back. I can move ten times more than an ordinary person.”
Lionel answered by lightly tapping his thigh. The knights took turns riding the horses in pairs or threes. Although Lionel, as the captain, could ride the horse all the time, he chose to walk during simple travels and let his subordinates ride instead.
“That’s convenient.”
“Yes, but apart from that, after an hour of walking, I still sweat and get hungry. I hope we can get food as well as water in that town…”
Water and food were essential supplies for the march. With support from the central temple being cut off, they only relied on solid rations, which is limited.
I hope we can find a way to contact the central temple.
However, it all depended on the cooperation of the townspeople. Lionel took a deep breath, preparing for any outcome.
“We’re sorry, but we can barely feed ourselves. We can’t afford to entertain the knights. You can draw water from the well, but please forgive us for anything else.”
The town chief bowed deeply but firmly. Lionel sighed inwardly (I knew it).
“We understand. But can we get some food as well? Even just potatoes?”
Both Lionel and his deputy, Segin, pleaded, but the town chief firmly replied, “No, it’s not possible.”
