Banishment is Fine: As a Genius Saint, I Can Shine Anywhere. - Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Episode 2.3
“Are you serious about healing everyone in the city? This place must have close to a hundred people living here.”
Besides, she just healed thirty knights, including Lionel, yesterday. Her fatigue must not have fully gone away, and now she wants to heal even more people. It’s a reckless act.
(And on top of that, praying and using talismans…!)
Lionel was about to scold her for pushing herself too hard, but before he could speak, she turned her blue eyes towards him and silently pleaded, “Please, stay quiet.” His voice got stuck in his throat.
Meanwhile, the city mayor, taken aback by Meteora’s offer, suddenly sneered mockingly.
“A saint sent to a place like this cannot possibly heal nearly a hundred people. Even the saints at the Central Temple struggle with such tasks. The saints who recently fled from the regional temple were out of breath just from healing minor wounds. So forgive me if I can’t easily say, ‘Sure, go ahead!'”
To someone unaware of Meteora’s abilities, her proposal seemed utterly absurd, and the city mayor laughed sarcastically.
The mayor’s belittling attitude made even Lionel’s forehead veins pop in anger.
“Do not underestimate our saint. If you doubt her abilities–“
“Then, if I can heal everyone in the city, will you provide us with water, food, and essential supplies?”
Meteora, speaking in a lower tone than Lionel, stepped forward.
“First, let me relieve your fatigue, city mayor.”
Before the mayor could respond, Meteora swung her staff and used her healing powers.
The mayor took a defensive step back, but he immediately felt his body lighten. He stared at Meteora in astonishment.
“Now, do you still doubt my power?”
She raised her chin deliberately and glared at the mayor. He shook his head, looking both confused and surprised.
Seizing the moment, Meteora pressed on.
“Call everyone who can move to gather here. I will visit the homes of those who cannot move. Without a doubt, I will heal everyone. In return, please supply the knights with water, food, and support.”
The mayor, almost taking a step back unconsciously, forced himself to stand firm and raised his chin to match Meteor’s defiance.
“If you insist, go ahead and try. But I doubt even the most skilled saint could heal so many.”
“It’s not your place to decide what’s possible. Now, gather the people quickly.”
Meteora’s commanding tone left no room for argument. The mayor, displeased with taking orders from a young girl, scowled openly.
Lionel realized that if they left it to the mayor, people might not gather. It would be faster if he ordered the knights to gather the citizens.
However, could he really entrust Meteor to heal nearly a hundred people?
Lionel glanced at Meteora, who read his thoughts and nodded without hesitation. She seemed resolute.
(This stubborn, genius saint…)
Lionel made up his mind and instructed Vice Commander Seguin.
“Gather everyone who can move here. Also, investigate the homes of those who cannot move.”
“Yes, sir!”
The knights sprang into action. Within half an hour, a long line formed in front of Saintess Meteora.
