Banishment is Fine: As a Genius Saint, I Can Shine Anywhere. - Chapter 2
(Whew, I really acted like a villain there.)
As she reflected on how she had just threatened the town chief, Meteor let out a small chuckle and turned her gaze toward the crowd of townspeople before her.
That said, I can’t just ignore these suffering people, and my knights urgently need supplies.
To achieve both goals, this was the best course of action.
“Alright, the first person, please step forward.”
With a gentle smile—one she had perfected during her time as the Chief Saint of the Central Temple—Meteor beckoned to a young child standing at the front of the line.
A girl, no older than ten, cautiously approached, holding the hands of two younger boys, likely her little brothers. Her eyes were filled with suspicion.
“…Are you really a Saint? Can you heal my brothers?”
The boys had visible injuries—one had a rash on his face, and the other had a deep wound on his arm. Seeing their pitiful state, Meteor felt her heart ache, but she remained composed and motioned for them to come closer.
“Yes, I can. Watch closely. Now, all three of you, hold hands and place them on mine.”
She extended her right hand. The children hesitantly placed their tiny hands on hers. Holding her staff firmly in her left hand, Meteor focused all her energy into a single thought—Heal.
“…Wow!”
The youngest boy was the first to react.
“Big sis! The pain is gone!”
“Me too!”
“My stomach… it doesn’t hurt anymore… But I didn’t even tell you I was in pain. How did you know?”
As her brothers cheered, the older sister stared at her stomach in shock, pressing a hand against it.
Meteor gave her a warm smile.
“That’s because I am a true saint—and a skilled one at that. Now, go tell the rest of the townspeople. The Saint here can heal anything.”
“Okay! Thank you, Saint!”
The children ran off, full of excitement. The people in line watched in stunned silence.
“S-Saint! Please, don’t worry about me, but could you help my mother? She’s old and always in pain…”
“Please look at my child! He’s been having stomach pains and diarrhea for days…”
“My arm… It was torn off by a monster, and now the wound won’t heal. It’s infected…”
One after another, the townspeople pleaded for her help.
Meteor stood firm.
“I will heal every single one of you. But don’t panic—just stay in line and wait your turn. I’ll take care of everyone quickly.”
Just as she promised, Meteor healed each person in line, working tirelessly for two hours, stopping only to take small sips of water.
Once everyone in line had been treated, she turned her attention to those who were too sick or injured to move.
The knights had already identified the most severe cases, and as they led her to each home, families eagerly rushed forward, desperate for help.
“Please, save my father! He used to be a knight, but after he was wounded in battle, they abandoned him and sent him home without proper treatment…”
Hearing the young woman’s desperate plea, Meteor nodded firmly.
“Don’t worry, I’ll heal him right away. And once he’s better, I’ll make sure you regain your strength too.”
Just as she said, she healed the father writhing in pain on his sickbed, then turned to the frail daughter and healed her as well.
Luckily, no one was suffering from an incurable disease or nearing the end of their life. Over the next two hours, Meteor managed to heal every last person in the town.
