Be Good and Hide Your Pheromones (GL , ABO) - Chapter 7
When Zong Qing emerged from the alley, her fingers trembled, and she felt utterly drained.
She hadn’t lost the fight.
But precisely because of that, Liang Feiyu couldn’t resist releasing her pheromones.
“Damn it.”
Unable to suppress a low curse, Zong Qing took a deep breath and mustered all her willpower to resist the discomfort in her body.
Perhaps because her differentiation period came unusually late, she seemed more susceptible to alpha pheromones than other omegas.
This feeling of being controlled by someone else was utterly overwhelming.
Even with her temperament, she couldn’t completely ignore it.
Her legs felt weak, and she dug her nails into her palms, breathing unevenly.
She had no more suppressants left.
Touching her burning nape, Zong Qing could only pull out a bottle of perfume from her pocket and spritz some.
Hopefully, it would help…
…
The pheromones, mixed with the pungent perfume and other scents, drifted with the wind straight into Xi Huan’s nose.
Her body reacted almost instantly.
Xi Huan licked her lips and stopped walking.
“It’s her…”
Just the scent alone was enough to excite her like this.
There wasn’t another person in the world who could affect her this way.
Whatever she had planned to do was immediately forgotten.
Without hesitation, Xi Huan turned and decisively walked in the other woman’s direction.
From the pheromones, she could tell Zong Qing wasn’t far.
Sure enough.
Before she had gone a hundred meters,
a hurried figure emerged from a nearby alley.
Crossing her long legs, Xi Huan stayed where she was, lips curving as she quietly waited for the other to walk right into her trap.
…
“…”
The discomfort dulled Zong Qing’s senses.
So much so that she didn’t even realize she had collided with someone until she was already in their arms.
“?”
Her head bumped against the other’s chin, and her body instinctively buried itself deeper into their embrace from the momentum.
Their bodies pressed close, and the firm, unfamiliar sensation against her made Zong Qing shudder violently.
Perhaps amused by her reaction, the other woman didn’t push her away.
Instead, she tightened her arms, pulling Zong Qing even closer.
Then,
a familiar, lazy chuckle sounded above her, dripping with amusement.
“Couldn’t wait to throw yourself at me, huh?” she said.
Throw herself at her?
That unmistakable tone instantly reminded Zong Qing exactly who this was.
Her red lips parted slightly as she raised her head, and sure enough, she saw that distinctive silver-white hair.
…
The unbearable pain she had been feeling seemed to slowly ease at this moment.
Their bodies pressed together allowed Zong Qing to clearly sense, the messages transmitted through every point of skin contact. Comfortable and utterly pleasurable.
“You, let go of me.”
Biting the tip of her tongue to stop herself from sinking deeper into this intoxication, Zong Qing pushed against Xi Huan’s chest with a grimace, struggling in the other’s embrace.
“How come you’re here?” she asked.
“Guess.”
Obediently opening her arms to release her, Xi Huan even considerately took two steps back.
And it was precisely because of those two steps.
That she noticed Zong Qing still carried traces of a scent that didn’t belong to her.
The pheromones of another alpha.
“This smell on you.”
The previously casual look in her eyes darkened instantly.
Narrowing her eyes, Xi Huan asked softly, “What is this scent…?”
What scent?
Raising an eyebrow, Zong Qing mistakenly thought the other was referring to perfume.
“None of your business.”
She was already irritated enough as it was.
“…”
Her own omega, tainted with another alpha’s pheromones.
This was something no alpha could tolerate.
Yet as a top-tier Alpha, Xi Huan’s self-control was astonishingly strong.
Her tongue lightly swept across her teeth as she pressed her lips together, slowly releasing her own pheromones.
Bit by bit, she erased every last trace of that foreign scent from Zong Qing’s body.
“What are you doing?”
Immediately sensing the presence surrounding her, Zong Qing frowned and quickly stepped back to avoid it.
But how could she possibly escape?
No matter how many steps she took, that distinctive forest-like pheromone followed like a shadow.
Like a vicious hound, it clung tightly to her without respite.
“Just helping you clean up some trash.”
The leisurely tone carried an undercurrent of danger.
Her gloomy gaze swiftly swept over Xi Huan’s vulnerable neck.
Licking her lips, Xi Huan restrained the impulse to bite into the other’s scent gland.
Not yet.
It wasn’t time.
“…”
What trash?
Zong Qing didn’t understand a word of this.
Rolling her eyes impatiently, she said, “I’m a Beta, why are you using pheromones on me?”
“Get lost already! I’m going home!”
This feeling of being enveloped by pheromones made her deeply uneasy.
“Alright then.”
Perhaps sensing her mood through scent, Xi Huan was unexpectedly compliant this time.
Spreading her hands, she couldn’t resist adding before leaving, “Don’t go spraying any perfume this time.”
It wasn’t until she took a taxi back to the Wen residence that Zong Qing understood the meaning behind Xi Huan’s words.
In the brightly lit living room, Wen He sat quietly on the sofa with arms crossed.
Not even the brilliant lights could brighten her stormy expression.
Her gloomy face made it clear she’d been waiting.
“Where have you been?”
The questioning came the moment she stepped through the door.
Zong Qing blinked, momentarily at a loss.
“Nothing much.” she said hesitantly. “Just had a match with Liang Feiyu.”
“Just that?”
Perhaps pleased by her honest attitude, Wen He’s expression softened slightly as she rose from the couch.
But the next second.
Her face changed dramatically, exploding with fury.
“Zong Qing!” Wen He shrieked from a distance, “What’s all over you?!”
“Why are you drenched in an alpha’s pheromones?!”
“Weren’t you just out fighting?!”
This oppressive, spine-chilling sensation, it definitely wasn’t from an ordinary alpha!
“What are you talking about?”
Her brows furrowed so tightly they could crush a fly. Zong Qing instinctively took two steps forward. “How could I have an alpha’s.”
The words died on her lips.
A faintly mocking face flashed through her mind.
She understood instantly.
“It must be her!”
Damn Xi Huan!
“You know who it is?!”
Her voice rising sharply, Wen He kept her distance, hissing in frustration, “Zong Qing! What you do in private is none of my business, but you can’t come back reeking like this!”
“Are you trying to kill me?! This house doesn’t have just one omega!”
As everyone knew.
Pheromone exposure had a profound effect on alphas and omegas.
In severe cases, it could even trigger a heat.
Zong Qing, saturated in alpha pheromones, was essentially a walking aphrodisiac bomb.
“Stay away from me!”
Covering her neck, Wen He backed up in panic, terrified of catching even a trace.
“……”
Watching her cousin recoil as if from a venomous snake, Zong Qing opened her mouth but ultimately said nothing.
–
Whether it was due to Xi Huan’s pheromones or not, ever since encountering that woman.
Zong Qing’s physical condition had improved significantly.
The needle-like pain had vanished, her weak limbs regained strength.
Even her swollen, fevered gland had cooled down.
Now.
Aside from the lingering, inescapable scent of greenery, she felt no other discomfort.
While doing her homework, Zong Qing opened the window to let in some fresh air.
It wasn’t until after one o’clock in the morning that she finally felt the air had become much fresher.
The irritating scent finally dissipated, and she let out a slight sigh of relief, rubbing her tired temples.
Some of her assignments and summaries were already finished.
Now, only a few remained, and she planned to pull an all-nighter to complete them.
Tomorrow had its own tasks, and Zong Qing had never been one to procrastinate.
A few minutes later.
Having made up her mind, she got up and brewed herself a cup of coffee.
Perhaps due to drowsiness, Zong Qing leaned lazily against the windowsill, cradling her cup as she gazed outside.
Her eyes drifted past the left wall, settling on the night sky.
A large, round moon hung there like a bright lantern.
Maybe it was just her exhaustion playing tricks on her.
Zong Qing thought she saw a dark figure darting out from the top of the left wall.
A straight, slender silhouette, like a bamboo shoot after the rain, gradually emerged from beyond the wall.
She watched as the once-bright moonlight was suddenly eclipsed by the figure’s appearance.
Squinting for a closer look.
The person climbing the wall, seemed oddly familiar.
Silver-white hair shimmered under the moonlight like a river of stars.
Dressed in the same school uniform from earlier, Xi Huan flipped over and perched atop the wall.
“Hey~ Zong Qing~”
“Good evening!”
She greeted the person below with a radiant smile.
Zong Qing: “…”
Suddenly, she felt like closing the window.
