The old priest claimed the totem had decreed:
“Only by forming a bond between the chieftain and the next priest can the tribe grow strong.” Thus, they woke Xie Yu and had her form a bond with Yun Nai on the spot.
Rumor spread through the tribe that though the chieftain and priest shared a grass mat, they were actually sleeping in the same bed but dreaming different dreams.
Some suggested Xie Yu form bonds with multiple people.
That night, when they went to sleep, Yun Nai redrew the boundary line on the mat, shifting it from a 50/50 split to Yun Nai occupying 80% and Xie Yu only 20%.
The tribe members believed their leader feared neither hardship nor pain, but in Yun Nai’s presence…
After her wound healed, Xie Yu whimpered pitifully, “It hurts so much.”
While taking her medicine, Xie Yu complained, “Nai Nai, this medicine is so bitter.”
Yun Nai soothed her, then asked, “What should we do?”
“If I had a kiss, it would feel better.”
Later, in bed, Xie Yu murmured, “I’m feeling a little tired…”
So Yun Nai kissed her.
Yun Nai was quiet, refined, and enigmatic, rarely allowing her emotions to surface. It wasn’t until Xie Yu repeatedly stirred her heart that she realized the turbulent emotions that had long been surging beneath her calm exterior.
“Across the endless river of time, I came for you.” This was our mutual choice.

There was nothing here.
The tribe’s people died of illness, starvation, and freezing.
No shelter, no rice, no salt—a triple-zero start.
Since we’re here, we might as well make the best of it.
They led the tribe to build houses, treat illnesses, weave clothes, and strive for prosperity.
As days turned into months, tribal conflicts grew increasingly severe, and war loomed.
Sweep across the six realms, establish laws and rituals, rule the world.
She would become the sole ruler of this continent.
And the king’s true love would bring life back to all things.
