Being a Tutor to a Rich, Psychopathic Young Lady - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
“It’s just that my cousin has a bad temper and a really difficult personality. She grew up with her dad and used to have an eating disorder, like twisting open a lipstick and eating it. She might be a bit hard to get along with.”
July. The wind passed through the gaps in the leaves, startling the cicadas. The oppressive heat of midsummer enveloped the two people under the tree. The woman, her head slightly bowed, had flushed cheeks and her fingers were gently clasped together.
A washed-out t-shirt and faded jeans always conveyed an indescribable sense of cheapness and a kind of subtle sexuality. Her poverty created a sense of protectiveness, and also a desire to bully her.
“It’s okay,” Shi Mingyue said softly. This job was incredibly hard to come by for her. And she couldn’t be picky now. The hourly wage was four hundred, two hours a day, three times a week. She could make over ten thousand yuan a month. “Thank you, Xiao Jin,” she said.
Cheng Jin took a step forward, closing the distance between them. She looked at the blush on Shi Mingyue’s face from the sun and whispered, “Mingyue, can I kiss you?”
Shi Mingyue was stunned. She looked up at her friend in disbelief. Cheng Jin put a finger to her lips and pleaded, “Just one kiss, is that okay?”
The two had always been just friends. After her family’s troubles, Cheng Jin had helped her a lot, but Shi Mingyue had only recently realized Cheng Jin’s true feelings for her. She needed this job…
Shi Mingyue couldn’t respond. Life was too hard right now. She had finally escaped her alcoholic, abusive father in college, but she had recently received a message that her mother was hospitalized, and her younger sister was still in her second year of high school. Her family desperately needed money. She stood frozen until Cheng Jin came so close that her lips were about to touch hers. Shi Mingyue reacted by quickly turning her head, and Cheng Jin’s lips landed on her cheek instead.
On the third-floor balcony of the villa, a figure rested her chin in her hand, her eyes narrowed curiously as she watched the two people kissing under the tree. The wind stirred her soft, dark hair, and they held that kissing posture for a long time.
A woman kissing a woman? She pressed her finger to her own lips, as if giving them a light kiss. What did it taste like?
Shi Mingyue’s heart was pounding, and her cheek was strangely itchy. Aside from her panic, there was no other emotional response. She took a step back, clenching her hands tighter. “I’m going in now…”
Shi Mingyue quickly turned and headed for the door. Cheng Jin rushed after her, just about to grab her wrist when her phone vibrated in her pocket.
light: Is she a very close friend of yours?
Cheng Jin looked up, but Shi Mingyue had already entered the living room. Cheng Jin rarely contacted this distant cousin. The last time they spoke was when she had just added her on WeChat, and the system automatically sent “I’m Orange.”
She looked down and replied to the message: Yeah.
light: I’ll take good care of her.
Cheng Jin thought for a moment: Okay, thank you, Xiao Qu.
light: (^_^)
…
“Miss Shi, let’s renegotiate the job.” Theè‚– family’s housekeeper suddenly came down from the third floor and said to Shi Mingyue.
Shi Mingyue, who was sitting on the sofa, immediately stood up. Was she going to be fired? Because of that kiss? She didn’t want to think that way about Cheng Jin, but after the kiss, her relationship with Cheng Jin had become blurry, as if they had crossed a boundary. Or was it the wealthy young lady she hadn’t met yet?
“Is there something I’m doing wrong?” Shi Mingyue tried to fight for the job. “Could I meet Miss Xiao? I can give a trial lesson first. Maybe we’ll get along well.”
The housekeeper said, “Would you be willing to live here?”
“Huh?” Shi Mingyue was confused.
“I’ve looked at your university transcript. Your grades are excellent. As long as you teach well in the beginning and Xiao Qu shows progress, we are willing to cover your room and board. The previous hourly wage of four hundred will be increased to five hundred, and you’ll receive a monthly bonus. How does that sound?”
Shi Mingyue thought it sounded great, better than great. It was a complete godsend. If it was raised to five hundred, she asked, trying to contain her excitement, “May I know how much the bonus is?”
“It will be based on the percentage of her grade improvement. If she improves by ten points in one go, you’ll receive 10% of your monthly salary. It accumulates like that, with no cap. If you live here, we can also provide a driver for your commute. Time spent accompanying her outside of lessons will be calculated separately, and you’ll receive holiday bonuses.”
“Okay.” Shi Mingyue wanted to say it was too good to be true. Her face was flushed with excitement.
“There’s a one-week trial period. Our young lady’s patience only lasts for a week. Please try to get along well during this time.”
“I’ll do my best.”
“Go take a shower. The young lady likes things to be clean.”
Shi Mingyue had heard this before she came. She had also brought some clothes with her. Shi Mingyue looked up at the stairs, blinking twice. Her eyes, like a theater curtain, opened and closed repeatedly, filled with a mix of pitifulness and excitement. She picked up her bag and walked upstairs.
The summer sun streamed through the partially closed curtains into the room. The spacious, bright bedroom had a soft pink aesthetic. A fair-skinned girl sat by the window, thoughtfully watching the clouds. When she heard a sound at the door, she slowly turned her head.
Shi Mingyue, fresh from her shower, looked clean and tidy, giving off a faint mixed scent of pomegranate and camellia. It wasn’t the high-end fragrance she usually used in the bathroom, but a cheap smell that was somehow strangely pleasant.
Her gaze lingered for more than ten seconds. The girl didn’t speak. Shi Mingyue was so nervous she didn’t dare to breathe. She could feel her new student’s eyes scanning her, finally stopping on her chest.
Shi Mingyue had a full figure. She had never hidden it, and her way of dressing always accentuated her features while hiding her flaws, making her look quite sexy. But she wasn’t mature or seductive; because of her nervousness and shyness, she still had the innocence of a student who hadn’t left campus yet.
She was still wearing the same type of inexpensive clothes that cost only a few dollars, but this outfit looked a bit more formal than the last one: a white shirt and black trousers. Her hair was tied up, a style that suited a teacher’s demeanor. The shirt was a little tight, and she had unbuttoned one more button at the collar. She looked like the kind of good teacher in a manga who wants to help her students but is a bit helpless when facing a bad one.
Just as Shi Mingyue, feeling awkward, was about to introduce herself to break the silence, Xiao Dengqu’s lips curved into a smile. “Hello,” she said, her voice full of warmth.
Huh? Shi Mingyue froze. Her voice was so sweet. The “mischievous” child everyone had warned her about blinked at her. “Come sit down.”
After Shi Mingyue composed herself and sat on the chair opposite her, she decided not to judge Xiao Dengqu as a bad kid right away. She began to introduce herself: her age, what university she graduated from, her major, and her college entrance exam score.
Suddenly, Xiao Dengqu picked up a piece of candy from a glass dish on the table and held it to Shi Mingyue’s lips. “Open your mouth,” she said.
Shi Mingyue felt a little embarrassed. “I can do it myself. Thank you.”
“It’s fine, you’re a guest,” Xiao Dengqu said with a smile, holding the candy closer to her lips. Shi Mingyue didn’t insist, taking the chance to get closer to her. She smiled and slightly parted her lips.
That slightly parted mouth had a perfect shape. Her lips were full, and a soft, wet pink tongue was nestled inside. It was like a fish, waiting for a hook to pull it out.
Xiao Dengqu’s fingers wanted to touch it.
Xiao Dengqu was holding the candy and didn’t let go. Shi Mingyue was confused and suddenly felt nervous. Was this little girl about to show her true colors and be mischievous? Just as she was about to pull back and close her mouth, Xiao Dengqu moved her fingers forward a little. As a result, Shi Mingyue’s lips lightly enclosed Xiao Dengqu’s finger. She panicked and retreated even faster.
Her sticky, wet mouth wrapped around Xiao Dengqu’s finger, and when it was pulled out, the tip of Shi Mingyue’s tongue brushed against it, causing an odd itch. The smile in Xiao Dengqu’s eyes widened. Her fingers felt so good, and she was very satisfied.
Xiao Dengqu’s mouth felt strange too, and it secreted saliva. She looked at Shi Mingyue and repeated every word Shi Mingyue had just said, “Shi Mingyue, twenty years old, graduated from A University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering… hmm, female, and looks very sexy.”
“You’re better than all the previous tutors, but you’re also more afraid of me. Teacher, how are you going to teach me like this?”
With that, she rested her chin on her hand again and looked out the window, giving Shi Mingyue a long time to react.
Even though Shi Mingyue felt she had been completely teased, as if this was a tricky second interview, she also felt like she had misjudged her. It even felt like everyone had misjudged Xiao Dengqu. She’s not bad. She’s quite well-behaved. She’s a good kid.
“No, I’m just a little nervous… Can we start soon?” she asked, observing Xiao Dengqu’s expression.
Xiao Dengqu didn’t seem truly angry. She was still rubbing her cheek with her fingertips. Her eighteen-year-old skin was so soft and smooth, her eyes were clear, and her eyelashes were slightly curled, twinkling as if light was breaking inside them.
“Miss Xiao?” Shi Mingyue called out softly. “I’m sorry, please don’t be mad.”
Xiao Dengqu glanced at her. “Is the candy good?”
Only then did Shi Mingyue remember she was still eating candy. She nodded. “It’s good.”
“Is it really good?”
Shi Mingyue hadn’t had time to taste it properly, but with her saliva now flowing, she paid closer attention. It was a sweet, strong white peach flavor. “Then open your mouth and let me see if it has melted.” Xiao Dengqu stared at her.
Shi Mingyue slightly parted her lips for Xiao Dengqu to inspect. The pink candy was in her mouth, slowly melting on her tongue. It looked so sweet.
Shi Mingyue also picked up a piece of candy from the dish and held it to Xiao Dengqu’s lips, saying softly, “You should try it too. It’s really delicious.”
Xiao Dengqu looked at her. She could see a subtle flattery and a nervous smile on Shi Mingyue’s face. She slightly opened her mouth, and as Shi Mingyue put the candy in, she bit down hard. Shi Mingyue’s eyebrows furrowed. It hurt, but she forced a smile when she met Xiao Dengqu’s scrutinizing gaze.
Xiao Dengqu’s tongue lightly teased, rolling the candy from between Shi Mingyue’s fingers. Once she tasted the sweetness, she let go. Shi Mingyue pulled her fingers back, looking at the faint teeth marks and the candy residue. She thought it was the young lady’s way of getting back at her, but a few seconds later, the young lady handed her a wet wipe from the drawer. As Shi Mingyue wiped her fingers, she asked, “Can we start now?”
“What subject are you going to teach first?”
“Math, is that okay?”
“Hmm…” Xiao Dengqu pondered.
Shi Mingyue could see she wasn’t interested and tried to cater to her interests. She tentatively asked, “Then what subject do you want to learn? I can teach other subjects too.”
“Hmm…” Xiao Dengqu’s expression remained unreadable. She was still in a detached state, her fingers tapping her cheek. “I really want to study biology right now.”
“Then let’s stick with math. For the other subjects later, Teacher, you must teach me well, because I want to study the human body.”
“Are you very interested in medicine? Then you should study biology.”
“Mmm.”
“You’re so smart.”
The candy melted in both of their mouths. It was the same fruit flavor. Their tongues swirled at the same time, stirring the waves inside their mouths. It felt like an intimate kiss, stirring up the rich peach flavor of a scorching July summer.
