Being a Tutor to a Rich, Psychopathic Young Lady - Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Xiao Dengqu’s eyes were red from crying. Her voice was occasionally choked with sobs. After getting Shi Mingyue’s answer, she bit her finger and carefully leaned against Shi Mingyue. “Teacher, can I really pinch it?”
Shi Mingyue said, “Don’t bite your finger. It’s all wet.”
The moistened finger was glistening with water and had shallow teeth marks on it. Xiao Dengqu reached out and tugged on the cat’s ear. Shi Mingyue did not refuse her. She happily looked up at Shi Mingyue’s face.
Shi Mingyue lowered her eyes and said nothing.
Soon, her waist was grabbed. Xiao Dengqu propped herself up, her bright eyes red, and her long eyelashes fluttered with un-dried tears.
Her fingertips slid down from Shi Mingyue’s full, round hips and continued to her waist, finally resting under the cat ear.
The ears were soft. She couldn’t get a good grip, and they were a little slippery. Xiao Dengqu grabbed them a few times.
Shi Mingyue met her pitiful eyes. She frowned uncomfortably. Xiao Dengqu asked her with concern, “Teacher, did I hurt you? I’ll be gentler.”
The words of rebuke were on Shi Mingyue’s tongue. Her body was sensitive, and she wasn’t without feeling. It was a very strange sensation. She was so tense that she broke out in a sweat.
“Don’t do that. Let go…”
“Okay, okay.” Xiao Dengqu let go in a hurry, as if she were also afraid. She lightly placed her hand on top and said with a serious expression, “Teacher, if it’s not being a pervert, then are we two lesbians doing this, or two straight best friends?”
She didn’t know if they were two straight best friends, but this could easily lead to a kind of honey. Shi Mingyue said again, “Get your hand away…”
Her fingers were bony and her fingertips were damp and warmer than Shi Mingyue’s body. Her thumb slowly smoothed out the wrinkles in the fabric.
Every time she pushed one open, she would raise her eyebrows with curiosity.
“Xiao Dengqu…” Her voice was heavier now. She glared at Xiao Dengqu. Xiao Dengqu silently stopped her hand and looked at her with eyes that seemed to be about to shatter. Shi Mingyue was worried that her tone had been too harsh.
“Okay, okay, I won’t touch you. I’ll listen to the teacher. I want to be a good student.” Xiao Dengqu sighed, pursed her lips with regret, and leaned over to rub her forehead against Shi Mingyue’s. “Teacher… Teacher… I like you.”
Shi Mingyue’s breath was forced back into her chest.
“I’m sleepy. I’m very tired. I want to sleep,” she said softly.
“Mm-hmm, I won’t bother you,” Xiao Dengqu said, then stared at the ears again. “The teacher’s kitty is so pretty.”
Shi Mingyue chided her. “Don’t say that.”
“Oh.” Xiao Dengqu obediently stopped talking. She sniffed and said again, “The teacher’s chest is so beautiful.”
Shi Mingyue wanted to hit her.
Xiao Dengqu was just a fool…
“Be more elegant.”
She pursed her lips. Forget it. She wouldn’t argue with her.
Shi Mingyue closed her eyes. Xiao Dengqu had no intention of sleeping. She propped herself up with her arms and came over again. She pinched the ears on the chest of Shi Mingyue’s pajamas.
If Shi Mingyue hadn’t closed her eyes, Xiao Dengqu would have said something else. Shi Mingyue had initially wanted to say a few things, but she knew that if she spoke, it would lead to another endless session of kneading. She decided to fall asleep as quickly as possible.
As for whether Xiao Dengqu did anything to her while she was asleep, Shi Mingyue had no idea. She only knew that Xiao Dengqu was tossing and turning. An hour and a half later, Shi Mingyue woke up from her nap, but Xiao Dengqu was still fast asleep.
She had been crying so hard before, but now she was sleeping like a baby.
Shi Mingyue immediately thought of a phrase: “Just like a little piggy.”
On this trip, Shi Mingyue’s entire wardrobe and daily necessities had been updated. Shi Mingyue was also surprised. “Can I really be this radiant?”
She knew in her heart that Xiao Dengqu was not so bad. The young lady of a wealthy family was generous. She would find opportunities to give her a new computer and a new phone as a reward, and they were always things she happened to need.
After their nap, they stayed on Xiao Dengqu’s bed. At night, Shi Mingyue never got off. The two of them were completely sharing a bed.
The next day, Xiao Dengqu woke up, rubbing her eyes on the bed, waiting for someone to serve her. When no one came after a long time, she angrily kicked the blanket away. A moment later, she looked up, her eyes squinting against the blinding sunlight from the beach.
Shi Mingyue was tying her hair with her back to the light. Her fingers revealed her slender, pale neck. The steward’s first impression of Shi Mingyue wasn’t that she was poor, but that she was clean. Only someone who was meticulous about cleanliness would wash their clothes until they faded.
Her face was very pale, and there were thin calluses on her palms.
Her lips were very red, like a red pomegranate. When they first met, Shi Mingyue had a faint pomegranate scent on her. She liked it very much. Her teacher was very pretty.
“Sigh,” she thought, “my cousin is so good. She knew I liked this about her, so she gave her to me.”
Xiao Dengqu tiptoed to Shi Mingyue’s back and reached out to hug her waist.
“You’re awake?” Shi Mingyue wiped her fingers with a washcloth and turned to look at her. When Xiao Dengqu was discovered, she didn’t stop. She continued to hug Shi Mingyue’s waist. Shi Mingyue was caught off guard and couldn’t dodge. Xiao Dengqu acted politely and coquettishly. “Teacher, hello, teacher. Good morning, teacher.”
Xiao Dengqu, still drowsy, rubbed against her neck. She was like a large, clingy animal. Shi Mingyue’s fingers moved aimlessly on her waist, pushing a couple of times. Xiao Dengqu hummed twice. “Teacher, teacher, I had a nightmare.”
Shi Mingyue couldn’t handle this. She said in a muffled voice, “It’s so hot.”
“Oh, oh.” Xiao Dengqu didn’t let go. Shi Mingyue had no choice but to let her. Xiao Dengqu looked up and asked, “Teacher, can I kiss you?”
“No,” Shi Mingyue said.
“Why?” Xiao Dengqu asked.
Shi Mingyue turned her face away. “Go get yourself ready first. Go brush your teeth.”
Xiao Dengqu finally let go.
Shi Mingyue helped her squeeze out the toothpaste and then heard the young lady humming a song. She asked her, “Why are you so happy?”
Xiao Dengqu said, “Because I’m not a pervert.”
Shi Mingyue didn’t answer and handed her the toothbrush. Xiao Dengqu then said, “I pinched the teacher’s kitty and didn’t grow up to be a pervert.”
Shi Mingyue almost choked. Xiao Dengqu pressed the switch on the toothbrush and rinsed her mouth very seriously. The rhythm seemed to say, “I’m so happy.”
In the morning, Shi Mingyue ordered room service. While she ate, she quizzed Xiao Dengqu on her biology memorization.
After half an hour of class, the two of them put on sunscreen and went to the beach to play. This time, Shi Mingyue allowed her to change into a bikini.
But Xiao Dengqu refused. “My cousin said we’re wearing couple’s clothes, so we can’t change.”
Shi Mingyue couldn’t be bothered to look at her. Cheng Jin would be crazy to say something like that.
An hour ago, Cheng Jin had messaged her asking if she was awake. Shi Mingyue replied with an “mm-hmm.” Xiao Dengqu leaned over to look, pursed her lips, and said, “You can’t cheat, teacher.”
Shi Mingyue’s patience ran out. “Don’t use the wrong words.”
“Okay, okay,” Xiao Dengqu said, then asked her again, “Teacher, can I kiss you now?”
“Don’t keep asking,” Shi Mingyue said. Then, her lips felt warm. Xiao Dengqu had kissed her directly. She said obediently and innocently, “Okay, I know. I won’t ask next time.”
“…”
Cheng Jin invited her several times that morning, saying that the weather was nice and she could teach her how to play water polo. Shi Mingyue edited a message to decline.
Xiao Dengqu walked very slowly next to Shi Mingyue. She said softly, “Teacher, if you don’t play with them, you’ll be isolated.”
Shi Mingyue was silent.
She was used to it. In her student days, she was the one who was isolated.
Xiao Dengqu seemed to think she was the kind of person who was always in the spotlight. She said, “You can go play with them. You don’t have to worry about me. I’ll wait for you on the shore and watch your bag. It might be a little difficult, but I was comforted yesterday, so I won’t cry anymore.”
Recalling how teary-eyed Xiao Dengqu was when she cried.
Shi Mingyue reached out and held Xiao Dengqu’s wrist. “I’m only here with you because I know you’ll be isolated.”
“Huh?” Xiao Dengqu looked at her in confusion.
Shi Mingyue was a person who was so poor and at the bottom of society that she was in debt. She liked to stay away from crowds and was very reluctant to come here. She was only here because she was worried that Xiao Dengqu would be bullied. Her emotions were indifferent, and she was unwilling to say it out loud or express herself.
She was even less willing to create any bonds with people.
Shi Mingyue was afraid of people saying they missed her, afraid of people saying they wanted to see her.
When they came out of the hotel, facing the sunlight, Shi Mingyue’s eyes suddenly felt sour. She said softly, “It’s okay. I won’t let you be alone.”
Xiao Dengqu stared at the web of her thumb and index finger. Shi Mingyue’s thumb rubbed it twice, and the bl00d vessels under her skin immediately became hot. Her whole body felt like it was on fire. Xiao Dengqu looked at Shi Mingyue in surprise. “How strange!” she exclaimed.
“Teacher, teacher, this feels weird.” Xiao Dengqu exclaimed in surprise. Shi Mingyue turned her head to look. Her cheeks were also hot, and she tried to pull her hand back. Xiao Dengqu held her tightly. She put Shi Mingyue’s finger on her chest. “Really, it’s so strange. My heart is also thumping. It’s so weird. What’s wrong with me? Do I have a heart disease?”
Xiao Dengqu’s heart was beating very fast. It was a feeling she had never had before.
She didn’t understand and was terribly distressed.
Shi Mingyue understood more than Xiao Dengqu. Xiao Dengqu probably didn’t have heart disease; she was in love…
Was Xiao Dengqu… falling for her?
Shi Mingyue forcefully pulled her hand back and said seriously, “You do have something wrong. Let the steward give you a physical exam when you get back.”
“Okay.” Xiao Dengqu touched herself twice. “It’s so weird. My body suddenly got so bad that I’m getting a heart disease.”
They ran into Cheng Jin at the beach. Cheng Jin was about to go to their room to find her. When she saw her, she immediately smiled and waved. “Mingyue, join my team. I’ll teach you how to play.”
Cheng Jin was wearing a swimsuit. She had a good figure, with a curvy bust and hips and a toned waist. She was lively and strong. She smiled warmly at Shi Mingyue.
Shi Mingyue shook her head. “I’m not going to play.”
Xiao Dengqu leaned against Shi Mingyue and hugged her arm. “Mm-hmm, because my heart is not well and it hurts a little, so I can’t play either.”
Cheng Jin frowned when she heard this. She hadn’t planned on inviting Xiao Dengqu anyway. Shi Mingyue pursed her lips and said nothing. A girl next to Cheng Jin said, “She’s playing water polo, not you. What does it have to do with you?”
Xiao Dengqu explained, “What if I have a heart attack and no one is there to rescue me and give me CPR? I’ll die.”
“Idiot,” Fu Wanxing said, bouncing the ball from a distance. “Then you just need to bring emergency medicine and an AED. Cousin, ignore her. Let’s play by ourselves.”
Cheng Jin really wanted to play with Shi Mingyue. She looked at Fu Wanxing and motioned for her not to say anything too harsh.
Shi Mingyue politely returned a smile. “I’m not going. I have no idea how to play, so I won’t bother you guys.”
“It’s okay, I’ll teach…”
“No need.” Shi Mingyue still refused. “I don’t really feel like playing.”
Cheng Jin still wanted to say something, but her cousin pulled her into the water. Cheng Jin chided Fu Wanxing from across the pool, “How could you say that? How could you say that about Xiao Dengqu?”
Fu Wanxing raised her eyebrows. “What’s wrong with that? I thought she was a beautiful girl we could play with, but look at how arrogant she is. She acts so high and mighty. Sister, you talk to her, and she doesn’t even respond to you.”
Shi Mingyue didn’t ignore Cheng Jin. She just didn’t want to get involved with Xiao Dengqu’s cousins.
Fu Wanxing jumped up and sent a ball flying. Cheng Jin quickly jumped up, her waist straight, and blocked her attack with a wave of her hand. Fu Wanxing said, “I just equally dislike everyone who’s with Xiao Dengqu.”
Undoubtedly, the one who had a conflict with Xiao Dengqu back then was Fu Wanxing. Fu Wanxing cursed, “Crazy.”
Fu Wanxing’s hatred for Xiao Dengqu naturally extended to the people around her, especially Shi Mingyue’s high-and-mighty attitude. She had tried to be friendly and talk to her several times, but Shi Mingyue would just put on airs and reply with one or two words. She didn’t know what she was being so arrogant about. Looking at her cold and distant demeanor, Fu Wanxing was a hair’s breadth away from saying, “You’re a poor nobody, why are you putting on airs?”
Cheng Jin played two games with little enthusiasm. When she looked at the beach again, Shi Mingyue and Xiao Dengqu were already gone. She found an excuse to end the game, went to get her clothes, and messaged Shi Mingyue: “Mingyue, I’ll give you the documents tonight. Can we talk for a while?”
Shi Mingyue didn’t reply.
Cheng Jin remembered Xiao Dengqu’s arm around Shi Mingyue’s, a very intimate gesture. Cheng Jin felt very uncomfortable and began to suspect… Xiao Dengqu’s target was no longer her but had switched to Shi Mingyue.
Cheng Jin flipped through her chat history with Xiao Dengqu. Xiao Dengqu always sent her sweet messages like, “Thank you, Cousin. You’re so good to me.”
How strange.
It was Shi Mingyue’s first time at the beach. She watched the waves crash in, took off her shoes, and waded into the water barefoot.
Xiao Dengqu was even more curious than she was. She ran around, and her clothes were soaked.
Shi Mingyue took out her phone and recorded two videos. She sent one to the steward, who just replied with an “mm-hmm.” Shi Mingyue then sent one to her sister.
Xingxing: “The sea is so blue.”
Shi Mingyue: “Mm-hmm.”
Xingxing: “Take a selfie.”
Shi Mingyue: “No.”
Xingxing: “I think I saw the young lady. What a pretty duck.”
“Hm-hmm.” Xiao Dengqu’s head came over. “Why did she curse at me and call me a pretty duck?”
“It’s a typo. She said you look very pretty.” Shi Mingyue explained. “She’s at work, using voice-to-text.”
“She’s your sister?” Xiao Dengqu asked.
Shi Mingyue nodded. Xiao Dengqu then asked, “How old is she?”
Shi Mingyue: “Two years younger than you.”
“Oh, then can I be her friend?” Xiao Dengqu’s eyes were full of anticipation. “I don’t have many friends.”
“We’ll see if there’s a chance later.” Shi Mingyue took two more pictures of the boats on the sea and sent them to Shi Fanxing.
Xingxing: “Sister, I want to use this as my social media background.”
Shi Mingyue: “I’ll take a few more for you later.”
She looked at Xiao Dengqu again. “Go play.”
Xiao Dengqu pointed to the sky. “That cloud is pretty. It looks like a flower.”
Shi Mingyue looked over. It really did. The white cloud looked like it had blossomed. Xiao Dengqu, the cloud expert, understood the art of the blue sky better than she did.
“I’ll take a picture for you.” Xiao Dengqu took Shi Mingyue’s phone and took a few pictures of the sky from different angles. She then told Shi Mingyue to stand in the water for a picture. Shi Mingyue didn’t really like taking pictures, but since it was her first time at the beach, she was persuaded by Xiao Dengqu and stood in a great spot according to her instructions.
Xiao Dengqu conveniently sent the picture to “Xingxing.”
Shi Mingyue: “Hello, I’m your sister’s student, Xiao Dengqu. Can we be friends? Don’t tell your sister. Shh.”
Xingxing: “Yes, of course! It’s an honor!”
Xiao Dengqu: “(^_^)”
Shi Mingyue took her phone back. After she sent the pictures to her sister, her sister kept messaging her, saying that the young lady’s pictures of the clouds were pretty and that she wanted to be her friend.
Shi Mingyue looked at Xiao Dengqu. Xiao Dengqu was holding her phone and taking pictures of the clouds in the sky, then she sent all of them to her. “You can show these to your sister.”
Xiao Dengqu’s profile picture had changed. It looked very familiar. Shi Mingyue tapped on it to enlarge it.
Shi Mingyue’s WeChat profile picture was a cartoon drawing of a little girl lying on the floor with a fan blowing on her. Xiao Dengqu had taken a screenshot of the electric fan from her profile picture and made it her own profile picture.
“?”
Having a profile picture of a big electric fan was… very strange.
For a moment, she had forgotten what Xiao Dengqu’s previous profile picture was.
The two of them were completely wet from playing on the beach. Shi Mingyue had the foresight to store clothes for Xiao Dengqu in the changing room of the nearby swimming pool.
Xiao Dengqu grabbed her and pulled her inside. She said nervously, “I don’t like being in places like this.”
“Huh?” Shi Mingyue was confused. The young lady was delicate and had never changed in such a small place before. “I’ll wait for you at the door.”
Xiao Dengqu said softly, “When I was in school, my classmates forgot that I was still in the changing room. I was in there for a whole day. It was so dark.”
Shi Mingyue was stunned for a moment.
She went in with Xiao Dengqu. She helped her scan the code to get the stored clothes. When Xiao Dengqu took off her clothes, Shi Mingyue turned her back. Shi Mingyue asked, “Then, how did you get out?”
Xiao Dengqu said, “The homeroom teacher found me. It was a summer like this, too. The door was locked, and it was hot and dark inside. I felt like I was going to die.”
Shi Mingyue frowned. “Did your classmates get punished?”
Xiao Dengqu said, “My classmates didn’t do it on purpose. We made a deal. I would wait there for an hour, and she would open the door for me. She just forgot.”
“Your… steward?” Shi Mingyue said. “Didn’t she do anything?”
The steward was pretty much Xiao Dengqu’s guardian. Even if Xiao Dengqu herself didn’t understand, the steward should have known this was bullying.
Xiao Dengqu continued, “The steward didn’t come. She contacted my dad, and later, my dad came to school to pick me up. The teacher told me to go home and rest.”
Shi Mingyue didn’t know if she should tell Xiao Dengqu that she was most likely being bullied. Xiao Dengqu’s people-pleasing personality made her believe that there were many good people in the world. Even if someone was mean to her, she would find a way to make it seem like it was no big deal.
But she couldn’t break that illusion. Once she discovered it, she would break down and cry.
Shi Mingyue said, “Did you go back to school afterward?”
“Dad said I didn’t have to and that I should study at home.” Xiao Dengqu said, “I also thought it was strange, but it’s okay. Maybe my health isn’t good.”
“Maybe… it’s not because of your health?”
“Mm-hmm, teacher…” Xiao Dengqu called her in a low voice. “I can’t fasten this. It’s new, and I can’t get it.”
Shi Mingyue turned around and saw that all the bras she had brought were new. Xiao Dengqu was fumbling with the clasp awkwardly, her fingers fidgeting behind her back.
Shi Mingyue walked behind her, took the straps from her fingertips, and when they were straight, she fastened them one by one.
“But I don’t understand. I thought it was okay to stay inside, but why didn’t my classmate come to find me? How could she forget?” Xiao Dengqu sighed. It was okay to stay inside. They had agreed that she would come and open the door, but the one who came to open the door was the homeroom teacher, not her classmate.
She went to ask the classmate why she didn’t open the door for her, and the classmate burst out laughing and said many strange things to her.
The classmate didn’t keep her promise. Xiao Dengqu hit her on the head with the bat from the changing room and asked her why she didn’t follow the rules of the game. The other person screamed in fear. Xiao Dengqu still didn’t understand. She hadn’t screamed when she was in there following the rules. She hit the other person’s head again and said it was a game penalty. She couldn’t do that again, or they wouldn’t be good friends anymore…
Xiao Dengqu sighed. “They said I was bad. I don’t understand. The teacher also doesn’t believe me. I’ve always listened to the teacher.”
Shi Mingyue fastened the last clasp. “Your classmate is bad. Xiao Qu is good.”
“Mm-hmm, Teacher Mingyue is the best.” Luckily, the teacher said she was good. Otherwise, she would have gotten angry and wanted to bully the teacher here to make her reconsider who was right and who was wrong.
Shi Mingyue let go and let her put on the rest of her clothes. Xiao Dengqu put on her tank top, turned around, and quickly kissed her thin lips. “I like the teacher.”
The changing room was stuffy. Shi Mingyue was covered in a thin layer of sweat.
The two of them came out. The people playing water polo outside had also finished their game. Fu Wanxing and a few other girls were covered in sand and were washing themselves off in the pool. Cheng Jin wasn’t there.
Shi Mingyue quickened her pace and left with Xiao Dengqu.
“So arrogant, a poor soul.” Fu Wanxing wiped her hair with a towel.
Xiao Dengqu, who was walking in front, turned her head to look at her and tilted her head. “Huh?”
Fu Wanxing rolled her eyes at her. “What are you looking at?”
Fu Wanxing just couldn’t stand Shi Mingyue’s pretense of being high and mighty. Cheng Jin had invited her several times, but she kept up her airs. If she didn’t like her, she should just refuse. But she kept being ambiguous with Xiao Dengqu. “So cheap.”
After cursing, Xia Ye nudged her with her elbow. “Stop talking. Xiao Dengqu is staring at you.”
Fu Wanxing could feel her sharp gaze and felt uncomfortable all over. She said, “Forget it. It’s so annoying to be stared at by a sewer rat.”
At night, the two of them didn’t go to the restaurant for dinner.
Tomorrow was the official birthday celebration. Anyway, Xiao Dengqu was a marginalized person and was dispensable among these relatives. The two of them ordered whatever they wanted to eat, and just like two days ago, they ate in the room.
Cheng Jin messaged Shi Mingyue: “You guys didn’t come?”
Shi Mingyue: “Mm-hmm, we’re not going.”
Cheng Jin: “I’ll bring you some food.”
Shi Mingyue: “We’re already eating. No need, thank you.”
Cheng Jin: “I already bought it. It’s some cool little desserts.”
Shi Mingyue replied: “Xiao Jin, really, there’s no need. I can’t eat anymore. Also, the next time you have to give me something, if Xiao Dengqu is around, try not to give me just one portion. Actually, it’s best not to give me anything at all.”
Cheng Jin stared at the message she sent. She was even more depressed. Shi Mingyue was usually very cautious. This was definitely because she was afraid of Xiao Dengqu.
Cheng Jin: “I’ll find you guys tonight and talk to her too.”
Shi Mingyue: “No need. Her heart isn’t feeling well. She’s not going out today.”
She knew Xiao Dengqu didn’t have heart disease, but Xiao Dengqu had taken it to heart. Today, she kept saying that her heart hurt a little. After Shi Mingyue sent the message, her body felt hot. It was so embarrassing.
Xiao Dengqu was acting like she didn’t have a phone. She loved watching her chat with other people. She nodded and took out her phone. “Teacher, look.”
Xiao Dengqu held her phone up for Shi Mingyue to see. The steward had sent her a bunch of links: “If your heart isn’t well, these two exercises can save your life,” and “A few exercises that the family members of a heart patient must know.”
Xiao Dengqu tapped on each link to show her the content. Shi Mingyue found the steward to be a strange person. In one moment, she was a sexual predator. In another, she was a lesbian. Now, she was an erotic health expert.
How could she be so perverted in such a comprehensive way?
Of course, if Shi Mingyue had been interested in checking Xiao Dengqu’s information, she would have known that three minutes ago, Xiao Dengqu had sent the steward over a dozen links with the words: “Send me some!”
What she saw now was the steward having a difficult time picking out a few normal ones.
Shi Mingyue was forced to put her hand on Xiao Dengqu’s chest to massage it. She sighed, “Xiao Qu, your steward…”
“Teacher, call me Xiao Deng.” Xiao Dengqu narrowed her eyes. The teacher’s hand was soft, and her massage felt so good. Her body felt strange. She wanted to kiss Shi Mingyue again.
After Shi Mingyue finished massaging her chest, she said with lingering fear, “Oh, I’m finally alive again.”
Shi Mingyue turned her back to her and picked up her phone, seeing a new message from Cheng Jin.
Cheng Jin was also angry: “Tell her to drink some brown rice and job’s tear soup!”
“It would be great if that could make her better.”
Ever since Xiao Dengqu got her “heart disease,” the already unstable person became even more unstable. And ever since the steward sent her that link, Xiao Dengqu had become very precious to herself. As soon as her heart beat a little faster, she would immediately ask Shi Mingyue to massage it for her.
Shi Mingyue would teach her lessons at night, but Xiao Dengqu would just stare at her. After a while, she would say her heart wasn’t feeling well.
Shi Mingyue didn’t want to pay attention to her, but when Xiao Dengqu leaned in, she did hear Xiao Dengqu’s heart beating very loudly.
After a long night of her fussing, Shi Mingyue’s wrist was sore from massaging. She was also worried that she would accidentally cause an issue for the perfectly healthy Xiao Dengqu. She secretly made up her mind that she would not massage her anymore, no matter what.
Xiao Dengqu was a handful. She was tossing and turning on the bed, lifting the blanket every now and then.
Shi Mingyue said helplessly, “Does it hurt again? I’ll take you to the hospital.”
“No, no,” Xiao Dengqu said. “Something else hurts.”
Shi Mingyue was tired of her antics, but she still coaxed her patiently, “Where is it this time? If you’re lying, Xiao Dengqu, you’ll be a bad student.”
Xiao Dengqu held her collar and looked. She seemed to not know how to describe it. After looking at it, she looked at Shi Mingyue. Shi Mingyue knew she was lying. She said, “If you don’t know, just go to sleep. You’ll be fine tomorrow.”
“It’s… it’s…”
Xiao Dengqu fidgeted, scooted closer, and whispered in her ear very softly, but very clearly: “…my n1pple hurts.”
