Being a Tutor to a Rich, Psychopathic Young Lady - Chapter 22.2
Chapter 22.2
The owner: “…”
Both of them were silent for a moment. The owner said, “Fine, I’ll make it cheaper and give you two garnets for free.”
Shi Mingyue paid, and the owner started weaving the string. The owner was serious about it, and the style was nice, so the labor was well worth it.
After leaving the store, Xiao Dengqu clumsily tried to tie the knot herself while walking. Shi Mingyue reached out and put it on her. Xiao Dengqu moved the beads with satisfaction. “Cute.”
The beads spelled “Mingyue.” Shi Mingyue said, “Did you put the wrong one on?”
“It’s this one.” Xiao Dengqu gave her the other bracelet. Shi Mingyue thought for a few seconds, took it, and thanked her, preparing to put it in her bag. Xiao Dengqu grabbed her hand and put it on her. Shi Mingyue was about to refuse when Xiao Dengqu suddenly shouted, “Seagulls.”
Shi Mingyue looked up and saw seagulls circling. They were flying low, occasionally making calls.
When Shi Mingyue looked down again, Xiao Dengqu had finished putting it on her. A red string was wrapped around her wrist. Xiao Dengqu adjusted it and said, “Don’t lose it.”
“Hm?”
Xiao Dengqu said seriously, “Because this is Xiao Dengqu. You can’t lose Xiao Dengqu.”
“And it’s very magical.”
The bracelet spelled “Xiao Dengqu.”
“But…”
Shi Mingyue’s wrist was slender, and these three words felt too heavy for her.
“We have to go buy the owner some ice cream. I promised her.”
In a way, Xiao Dengqu was very well-mannered. She always kept her promises. Xiao Dengqu excitedly went to buy ice cream and gave it to the owner. The owner was surprised to see her with the ice cream and gave her two lucky charms and a red string to play with.
Shi Mingyue looked down at the red string on her wrist. In addition to Xiao Dengqu’s name, there were two small lucky charms at the end, spelling “peace.” Her fingers were still cold. She pinched them hard.
Xiao Dengqu’s hand reached out and held hers. The coldness that she hadn’t managed to pinch off was transferred to Xiao Dengqu’s palm.
…
There were many places to explore by the sea: a musical fountain, a light show, and restaurants where you could enjoy food with the sea breeze.
They also went on a jet ski for the second time. It cost 200 for both of them.
Seagulls flew close to the sea. Xiao Dengqu had a great time, and it was also Shi Mingyue’s first time. She took two pictures of Xiao Dengqu with her phone and sent them to the steward.
Xiao Dengqu asked, “Why do you keep sending them to her?”
“Someone has to know you’re out having fun,” Shi Mingyue said.
“Oh.” Xiao Dengqu nodded.
They played until late and were eating some skewers on their way back. Shi Mingyue secretly observed Xiao Dengqu a few times. Xiao Dengqu was smiling the whole time. She was truly happy today.
When they got to the hotel room, Shi Mingyue received a message from Cheng Jin, saying that Xiao Dengqu’s aunt had come to find her that afternoon and asked her to pass on a few words.
Cheng Jin: “Were you not here this afternoon?”
Shi Mingyue: “We went out.”
She added another message: “Xiao Jin, don’t help pass on these kinds of messages anymore. It’s a thankless job.”
The typing indicator continued for a while: “I know, but if I don’t pass on these messages, it feels like I have nothing to talk about with you.”
“I’ll give you the documents.”
Shi Mingyue: “Let’s talk about it when we get back to school.”
Cheng Jin typed again, with the documents next to her. She had almost forgotten the purpose of her visit. She typed and then deleted her words. She had a headache. She really didn’t want to be on the opposite side of Shi Mingyue.
Shi Mingyue first told Xiao Dengqu to take a shower and change. Xiao Dengqu obediently went. She came out in her pajamas and sat on the sofa, playing on her phone.
Shi Mingyue went to the bathroom to put away her clothes. All the clothes were sent to the hotel’s laundry service, but underwear and intimate clothing were cleaner and safer to wash by hand.
Shi Mingyue didn’t wash Xiao Dengqu’s underwear anymore. Before she went into the bathroom to shower, she reminded Xiao Dengqu to wash her own.
Xiao Dengqu answered with a “yes” from outside.
A moment later, Xiao Dengqu pushed the door and entered the bathroom. Shi Mingyue quickly covered her chest and pressed herself against the wall. Xiao Dengqu asked excitedly, “Teacher, did you buy me a Doraemon?”
Shi Mingyue said, “You go out first!”
Xiao Dengqu was holding a Doraemon she had found in her bag, the one she had seen at the toy store. “Teacher, teacher, I love it!”
“Xiao Dengqu, get out!” Shi Mingyue chided in a low voice.
Fortunately, Xiao Dengqu didn’t charge into the bathroom and left with Doraemon.
Shi Mingyue listened to her happy humming, her fingers wiping away the foam on her chest.
She had forgotten. She should have locked the bathroom door.
Cheng Jin scrolled through her contact list, her fingers moving up and down.
Then she frowned. One profile picture was a child with a fan, and the other was a big fan. She tapped on the fan profile picture and typed: “Xiao Qu?”
Xiao Dengqu didn’t reply. Cheng Jin sent another message: “What’s with your profile picture?”
Xiao Dengqu replied: “Does it look good?”
Cheng Jin couldn’t answer.
“Isn’t that the big fan from Mingyue’s profile picture?”
When you looked at them together, anyone would think they were a couple’s profile picture.
Xiao Dengqu: “Mm. Does it look good?”
Cheng Jin: “Mingyue’s looks good. Yours is just okay.”
Xiao Dengqu changed the fan again and replaced it with the little girl: “How about now?”
Cheng Jin: “No.”
Xiao Dengqu: “Okay.”
A few seconds later, Xiao Dengqu’s profile picture was exactly the same as Shi Mingyue’s, just flipped horizontally: “How about this?”
Cheng Jin: “Do you have to be the same as her?”
Shi Fanxing also saw her profile picture changing back and forth and asked: “What are you doing?”
Xiao Dengqu said: “I don’t know which one looks good. You tell me which one looks good. Which one will the teacher like more?”
Shi Fanxing: “…The big fan. Stop changing it randomly. If my sister didn’t tell you to change it, it means she thinks the big fan looks good.”
Xiao Dengqu changed it back: “Okay, I’ll change it to the big fan that the teacher likes the most.”
She replied to Cheng Jin: “I’m sorry, Cousin, but I can’t help it. The teacher insisted that the big fan looks good and told me to use it with her. She said she likes it a lot!”
Cheng Jin had almost forgotten the reason why she wanted to talk to her. She had originally wanted Xiao Dengqu to help her give the documents to Shi Mingyue, but now…
Cheng Jin: “Come out for a moment. I need to talk to you about something.”
In the hotel lobby.
Xiao Dengqu came down wearing her slippers, walking slowly. Cheng Jin was looking down at her phone.
“Cousin.” Xiao Dengqu asked Cheng Jin, “What’s up, Cousin?”
Cheng Jin glanced at her. Xiao Dengqu no longer had the same expression of grievance as she did in the morning. Xiao Dengqu pursed her lips. Her skin was as white as a pearl, and she was radiant. Her neck was slender, and she looked completely innocent and naive. She reached out and brushed her black hair, then sat on the sofa, revealing the red string on her wrist. When Cheng Jin tried to get a closer look, Xiao Dengqu suddenly put her hand on it and hid it. “What’s up?”
Cheng Jin said earnestly, “Xiao Qu, Mingyue is my friend. I hope you don’t make things difficult for her. When she’s teaching you, you need to listen carefully.”
Xiao Dengqu nodded. “Okay, Cousin.”
A few seconds later, she pouted and said with grievance, “Cousin, I’ve been so good to her. I’m even washing her clothes now. Why do you think I’m targeting the teacher?”
“What?” Cheng Jin said. “You’re washing her clothes?” She looked at Xiao Dengqu in disbelief. Xiao Dengqu’s eyes were indeed shifting. “Xiao Dengqu, what are you talking about?”
Xiao Dengqu looked at her with a pained expression. “Okay, Cousin, actually, I only washed the teacher’s ‘little undies’ a few times. I’ve been washing them for two or three days. I haven’t washed all her clothes… Next time, I’ll try to wash the rest of her clothes too.”
“Huh? What… ‘little undies’?”
“That. The teacher told me to be more elegant and not so crude.”
But Cheng Jin was uncomfortable. “Little undies,” was that a bra or underwear? Neither was okay, right?
Xiao Dengqu blinked. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have lied… but I just wanted you to know that I’m keeping my promise. I’m being very good to her.”
Cheng Jin suddenly choked up.
She was a little flustered. She put her hand down on the study abroad documents she had brought with her.
Xiao Dengqu said, “I tried my best today too! I even washed them for her today! If you’re not satisfied, I’ll wash them for her every day!”
Her light-colored eyes drooped, her gaze lightly swept over Cheng Jin’s face, and her lips were tightly pursed into a thin line. The grievance was so thick it was almost overflowing. “You can’t say I’m bullying the teacher anymore.”
Cheng Jin didn’t know if her grievance would overflow, but at that moment, she felt like crying.
“Did Mingyue really ask her to wash them?”
At that moment, Shi Mingyue finished her shower. She couldn’t find her pajamas in the bathroom. When she came out, she saw her recently changed bra and underwear hanging wet next to Xiao Dengqu’s.
“?”
She could only pick up the clothes she had taken off and put them on before looking for other pajamas. When she saw the sheer, sexy silk and lace styles, her face flushed. She messaged Xiao Dengqu: “Where are my pajamas?”
Xiao Dengqu saw the message. She looked at Cheng Jin, then avoided her gaze. In a very, very quiet voice that Cheng Jin could hear, she sent a voice message: “I’m sorry, Teacher. I was in a hurry and accidentally put on your pajamas… You wear something else for now. I’ll take them off and give them back to you when I get back.”
Then she looked at Cheng Jin. “Cousin, what did you want to give me?”
