Being "Crushed" - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Looking at Lu Sifang’s suddenly appearing arrogant and handsome face, Song Yuhan was shocked and pale, wanting to stop him, but it was already too late.
The two men finally locked eyes, each colder and more intimidating than the other.
The man laughed lightly, seeming unsurprised by Lu Sifang’s appearance. “I thought some people would just keep hiding like scared turtles. Didn’t expect you to have some guts.”
While speaking, the man kept staring at the suddenly appearing face. Even with a hat covering it, he still recognized Lu Sifang. His brows furrowed, and a strong sense of disgust and danger instantly flashed in his eyes.
“Why are you here?” His tone was that of a rightful husband confronting a rival.
Faced with the man’s blatant and rightful accusation, Lu Sifang was momentarily speechless. He glanced at Song Yuhan behind him, his fists clenched then relaxed, never managing to come up with a decent excuse—a reason that could allow him to stand here on equal footing with the man before him.
As his gaze darkened, Song Yuhan anxiously spoke up, “Don’t misunderstand, actually he…”
“It’s fine.”
Before she could finish, the man interrupted sharply. Seeing Lu Sifang silent, he didn’t bother arguing with him, instead turning back to Song Yuhan. His eyes were complicated, but the smile at the corner of his mouth remained unchanged.
“I trust you’ll handle it well.”
After saying that, the man turned to look at Lu Sifang again, his smile broadening slightly, his voice growing heavier, each word seeming to carry a deeper meaning:
“Just some meaningless nobody. Why do you even care?”
Then, his kind eyes fixed on Lu Sifang’s fists, veins prominent from the harsh words clearly provoking him.
The man smiled with satisfaction, then turned back to gently stroke Song Yuhan’s hair, said a few words, and left directly.
But as he brushed past Lu Sifang, the originally gentle crescent-shaped eyes met the rebellious, restrained deep eyes, sparking a strong hostility and aura only the two could sense.
The man closed the door behind him, cutting himself off from the world inside the room. The smile in his eyes vanished, replaced by a growing resoluteness.
Inside the now silent room after his departure, no one spoke for a long time.
Song Yuhan and the sullen Lu Sifang stared at each other for a while. She finally couldn’t help but said in slight anger, “Didn’t I tell you not to come out?”
To Lu Sifang, this action showed she was scared the man would misunderstand and take it out on him. His heart ached sharply. He opened his mouth as if to explain something, but then thought it unnecessary.
Explaining only works for those who care.
He suddenly looked up, unwilling to meet Song Yuhan’s eyes, and bitterly smiled without answering her question.
“What are you smiling at?” She frowned, thinking he was showing disdain toward her.
To laugh in such a situation, only he—a shameless, carefree rogue—could do that. She really didn’t know why she ever liked him!
“I’m laughing at you being stupid, dummy.” His tone was playful and he emphasized the last two words clearly.
Song Yuhan was stunned and blurted out, “You actually called me dumb?! But I’m…”
“I know, the proud top student of Zhongjing University, Yun Sheng’s prodigy.”
Lu Sifang cut her off mid-sentence, but after hearing it, she felt a little dazed.
What he said… all of it happened after they lost contact. How could he know? Wasn’t he ignoring her already? How come…
Realizing her words were odd, Lu Sifang suddenly paused and instinctively glanced at Song Yuhan with a slightly flustered look.
She… she probably didn’t notice, right? If she found out he still remembered her, still kept track of her after all that mistreatment… then his face might as well be useless.
Clearing his throat to cover his embarrassment, he changed the subject quietly: “They already found out. If I didn’t come out, should I wait for him to personally open the wardrobe and catch me?”
Song Yuhan eyed him suspiciously but didn’t want to continue this topic. Instead, she furrowed her brows deeper as if worried about something.
Seeing her worry, Lu Sifang narrowed his eyes and said harshly, “Are you really that scared of him? After all these years, your courage hasn’t grown at all.”
He thought she was cuter when she was fiercer around him. Now she was so timid—what kind of look was that?
Song Yuhan didn’t answer, just glared at Lu Sifang before going to the door, peeking outside, then boldly opened it wide and stood at the door as if to see someone off.
“No one’s here, take care.”
Clearly unwanted, Lu Sifang’s face showed some embarrassment. He tilted his head and looked at her for a long time, then smirked and reluctantly nodded before swaggering out.
But in his heart, he couldn’t swallow that insult. Being called “some meaningless nobody” was one thing, but getting kicked out like that? A tiger not showing its claws being mistaken for a sick cat…
So just before stepping out the door, he suddenly stopped, glanced sideways at Song Yuhan by the door with a challenging raised eyebrow and a teasing smile. He used his thumb to rub the corner of his lips meaningfully. His sharp face somehow made the move less sleazy, adding a wicked and captivating charm.
Song Yuhan immediately remembered everything that had just happened! Her whole body flushed hot with embarrassment and anger. Her fists clenched tightly, and finally, she couldn’t help but punch that dangerously close handsome face.
But Lu Sifang was a professional athlete with lightning-fast reflexes. One hand was already at his lips while the other caught her fist, pushing her back against the door and leaning close with a wicked smile.
“What’s the matter? Already angry?”
Song Yuhan struggled, realizing resistance only made him press harder. “Let me go, you damn rogue!”
“You say… what if he finds out we kissed tonight, what do you think he’d feel?” He ignored her protests, pressing closer with the expression of someone enjoying a show.
“He’s gone now. That medicine you specially bought will just be wasted…”
He glanced at the medicine on the floor and said this provocatively.
Song Yuhan stared at him in disbelief, trying to find a hint of joke in his expression, but she couldn’t read him at all. Her puzzled gaze followed his to the medicine on the ground, and she froze.
“Bastard! That’s what I’m using to delay things!”
“…”
She just didn’t want to be so weak while facing a busy work period! Where did this guy’s mind even go?!
As the two remained locked in stalemate, suddenly a sharp white light shot straight into Song Yuhan’s eyes from afar, causing her to close them tightly in discomfort.
Seeing this, Lu Sifang’s stubborn black eyes darkened immediately. He shifted his body instinctively to fully shield her, leaving not a single strand of hair exposed.
He shot a fierce glare at the light source but forgot the rebellious little white rabbit in his arms, who pushed him away slightly. Cold words then poured into his ears like ice:
“Nothing happened tonight…”
She lowered her head and muttered softly, then suddenly raised her eyes to look at him. Her eyes were sharp and clear, seemingly flickering with something as her voice weakened:
“Please leave me alone.”
After speaking, as if afraid he would change his mind, she quickly returned to her room and slowly closed the door inch by inch under his watchful gaze.
Only Lu Sifang was left outside, stunned for a long while, his expression unreadable—whether surprise or something else.
Finally, a helpless sigh escaped his lips: “Between us, who really won’t let go of whom…”
Then he turned, his somewhat lonely figure gradually fading away. The lingering sadness echoed down the long corridor like someone’s obsession refusing to fade.
Fate, always mischievous, loves to reunite two people who think their relationship is over in completely unguarded moments, as if wanting to watch a good show. Thus, coincidences keep happening… Fate stands by excitedly waiting to expose those moments of pretense and denial.
When Lu Sifang returned to his room, the “smart robot” by the hallway suddenly moved, turned a corner, and headed straight for the corridor exit.
The paparazzi who got the photos exchanged glances and smiled, their eyes gleaming with triumph, full of anticipation and desire for the entertainment headlines.
No matter how much you try to guard yourself, you still got caught! Now, whether you’re some skateboarding prodigy or not, you’re going viral!
After closing the door, Song Yuhan stood behind it for a long time, only breathing out deeply after confirming through the peephole that no one was outside.
As her eyes relaxed for a moment, a flicker of some other emotion flashed briefly—an emotion she deliberately ignored.
She closed and reopened her eyes and started moving into the room.
Her phone, which had fallen pitifully to the floor during the earlier chaos, suddenly lit up. The incoming call ID showed “susu.” She immediately answered.
“Hello, susu?”
“Song Yuhan!!! Why haven’t you answered my calls? I thought something happened to you in Zhonggang!”
The firm female voice from the phone was domineering, obviously a capable person.
Song Yuhan, unjustly yelled at, wasn’t angry, just pulled the phone slightly away and obediently confessed.
“Sorry, I don’t know when I put it on silent. I’m fine, really. Don’t be mad…”
Hearing the warm voice, Zhou Su rolled her eyes but softened a lot, “Cut the act and be honest! What bad things did you do today?”
Song Yuhan took off her white fleece cloak and flopped on the big bed with a wail, “Sigh, I don’t even know what bad thing I did… how did this happen?”
Zhou Su sensed something was wrong and raised her brows, asking, “What do you mean? You didn’t… get possessed in Zhonggang, did you?”
Song Yuhan suddenly opened her eyes wide in fright, immediately sitting up, eyes darting, belatedly covering her mouth, “Then it’s over… it’s a big one!”
Zhou Su: “???”

After returning to his room, Lu Sifang belatedly realized he might have forgotten something… until he glanced at his phone out of boredom and finally saw the sixth missed call from Zhou Shangqing. He jumped up sharply.
Not good, something serious must have happened!
