Being the Diva’s Rumored Girlfriend [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 25
Cheng Jing didn’t return until the afternoon of the next day, looking visibly exhausted. It was said she had gone with Sister Gu to find Yao Xuan, but the Yao family had turned them away at the door.
A few girls huddled together secretly, eager to gossip—
“Is Yao Xuan’s family really that rich? So, all her stuff was genuine? I thought they were knockoffs like mine…”
“Not everyone’s like you. The moment I saw her suitcase, I knew she was classy. That thing cost over 100,000!”
“What?!?!”
“She once said bags under 50K were poor quality, and I thought she was just bragging. Turns out she knew what she was talking about??”
“Oh my god, then all those bags, clothes, and jewelry in Yao Xuan’s room…!!!”
“Have I been sleeping next to millions this whole time?!”
Everyone was losing their minds. Though their current incomes weren’t low, they still couldn’t bring themselves to splurge on bags worth tens of thousands.
Just thinking about Yao Xuan’s 100,000-yuan bags, 200,000-yuan shoes, and outfits worth hundreds of thousands made them feel like they couldn’t breathe.
Even Manman was shocked—she had no idea Yao Xuan came from such wealth.
Thinking back, some of the bags Yao Xuan carried were the same styles as those in Mu Yunshu’s collection. Manman even remembered seeing a few LV totes in Mu Yunshu’s trunk stuffed with rolls of toilet paper.
Is this how rich people live???
The thought alone made Manman’s heart ache!
Those weren’t just bags—they were life itself!!!!
The whispering girls couldn’t help but wonder: If Yao Xuan’s family was so loaded, why on earth did Cheng Jing break up with her??
It made no sense.
Before they could finish speculating, Sister Gu and Cheng Jing came downstairs from the second floor. Everyone quickly snapped back to normal—some stretching, others doing makeup.
Sister Gu didn’t call them out on their gossiping. Instead, she clapped her hands and announced, “Gather around, I have something to tell you.”
They instantly crowded around, eyes burning with curiosity.
“You all know about Yao Xuan’s situation,” Sister Gu said. “Unfortunately, she’s withdrawn from Star Girls and signed with another agency.”
There were murmurs of disappointment, but given Yao Xuan’s long absence, they had all expected this outcome.
Sister Gu glanced at Cheng Jing before continuing, “Just keep this to yourselves. Next month is Star Girls’ fan meet, and none of you are to leak this. Wait for the company’s official response.”
After the warning, she singled out a few loose-lipped members—especially Mu Xiaoxiao—before leaving the dorm.
Mu Xiaoxiao pouted, covering her mouth. “If Sister Gu knows I can’t keep secrets, why tell us at all?”
“Maybe she just doesn’t want us worrying.”
“And knowing the truth is better than wild guesses.”
All eyes turned to Cheng Jing, waiting to see what she would say.
But Cheng Jing just gave them a look, muttered, “I’m going to sleep,” and walked off.
In the following days, everyone busied themselves preparing for the fan meet—especially Manman, who had been swamped lately.
Since her official relationship announcement with Mu Yunshu, she had faced brutal backlash, but her follower count had skyrocketed. In fact, her solo fanbase now surpassed the entire group’s combined.
Moreover, with the broadcast of the Reality show, Mi Man even gained her own fan support groups. Several large chat groups were packed to the brim, creating an especially spectacular sight.
Turns out the saying “even infamy is fame” really holds true.
Mi Man couldn’t help but sigh. In contrast, Cheng Jing, who had also publicly announced her relationship, suffered a significant drop in followers because her idol status was no longer single.
Everyone noticed, but no one pointed it out.
After all, they were teammates who spent every day together—there was no need to make Cheng Jing feel worse.
When the group received the official notice about the fan meet-and-greet date, Mi Man froze for a moment.
“What’s wrong?” Xiaoxiao, sitting beside her, asked in confusion. “Why do you look so surprised?”
“It’s nothing…” Mi Man shook her head. “Who decided on this date?”
It wasn’t the anniversary of their debut, nor was it an auspicious day—just an ordinary Saturday.
Sister Gu glanced at her and said, “It was randomly picked. Aside from you, Mi Man, the rest of you haven’t had any schedules in a long time. The company figured since it’s not a big deal anyway, they might as well hold it sooner rather than later.”
Cheng Jing looked at the date and nodded. “Fine, let’s go with that.”
After the meeting ended, Mi Man stole a glance at Cheng Jing.
Why didn’t she say anything?
Mi Man was puzzled. That day was clearly Cheng Jing’s birthday—her fans would surely prepare gifts for her.
In the past, as the group’s main push, Cheng Jing would have had a dedicated birthday fan meet. But now, Sister Gu didn’t even mention it, as if she had completely forgotten.
Since neither Cheng Jing nor Sister Gu brought it up, Mi Man—just a background member of the group—didn’t dare ask. She could only obediently follow along to practice.
——————
“You’re having a fan meet-and-greet?”
During a break in recording, Mu Yunshu looked at Mi Man in confusion. “You’re going too?”
Mi Man handed her water. “Of course, I am.”
She might be practically invisible in the group, but she wasn’t actually invisible—why wouldn’t she go???
Was Yunshu looking down on her???
Mu Yunshu frowned unhappily. “Then will you still have time to practice with me?”
Mi Man thought for a moment. “The fan meet is at the beginning of the month, and your concert is at the end. They shouldn’t conflict.”
She’d just have to work a little harder, shuttling back and forth between both.
Mu Yunshu took a sip of water and pulled Mi Man closer. “But running around like that is exhausting. We live so far apart.”
Every time she drove to pick Mi Man up, it took 40 minutes to cross half the city. Mu Yunshu had set up a workspace behind her home specifically to avoid long commutes, yet her girlfriend still lived so far away—it really annoyed her.
Mi Man pressed her forehead against Yunshu’s and sighed. “What can I do? I can’t afford to buy a place.”
Mu Yunshu grinned. “Why buy one? Just move in with me.”
The thought of Yunshu’s two-story villa made Mi Man’s heart race.
“No way…” Mi Man’s face flushed as she whispered, “I don’t want to trend on Weibo again.”
Last time, the “living together” scandal had her getting dragged online for a whole week. If she actually moved in, no amount of explaining would save her.
Mu Yunshu was displeased—extremely displeased. “We’ve been dating for half a year. Why can’t we live together?”
Mi Man froze, then hissed under her breath, “Half a year? It’s only been a month!”
It was all just casual playacting before, and it was only last month that things became serious!
How could this woman casually mention half a year out of nowhere? That’s way too big of a leap!
“No matter!” Mu Yunshu gritted her teeth. “I have fans who can vouch for me!”
Mi Man was so furious she flailed her arms and turned to leave, only for Mu Yunshu to yank her back.
“Let go of me! I’m going home!”
“No way, we haven’t finished recording the song yet. I can’t perform well without you here.”
“That’s nonsense! You can’t even see me inside the booth.”
“I can’t see you, but my heart is full of you~”
The studio staff all lowered their heads in embarrassment—these two were way too lovey-dovey!
Could they at least spare a thought for the room full of third wheels???
Mu Yunshu and Mi Man roughhoused in the lounge, having a great time. Mu Yunshu kept mischievously trying to pinch Mi Man’s waist, but Mi Man dodged every attempt.
“Stop it, stop it! It tickles!”
Laughing uncontrollably, Mi Man reached out and smacked her hand over Mu Yunshu’s face, covering her eyes.
Mu Yunshu obediently closed her eyes and pulled Mi Man into her arms.
“Stop fooling around, I still have to record later.”
“You’re the one fooling around!”
As they playfully wrestled, Mu Yunshu, annoyed, suddenly reached for Mi Man’s waist—only to freeze when she realized the sensation under her fingers wasn’t quite right.
Mi Man stiffened instantly.
Peeking through the gaps between Mi Man’s fingers, Mu Yunshu realized that, blinded by her own antics, she had accidentally grabbed something… very inappropriate on Mi Man’s chest. She was just as shocked.
Mi Man: “…”
Mu Yunshu: “…”
Just as Mi Man, flushed red, tried to get up—she felt Mu Yunshu’s hand squeeze!
She—she—she actually groped her!!!
Mu Yunshu suddenly looked at Mi Man like she had discovered a new world. Mi Man had always been slender, so Mu Yunshu assumed she was flat-chested. But to her surprise, the touch was unexpectedly… plump and soft!
There was actually quite a bit there!
Mi Man shrieked and immediately kicked Mu Yunshu off the couch!
Mu Yunshu: “Ow~”
Thud—
Mu Yunshu landed on the floor, clutching her head as she watched Mi Man grab her bag and bolt out of the studio without a backward glance.
The staff at the control panel stared at Mu Yunshu sprawled on the ground, utterly clueless about what had just happened.
Mu Yunshu didn’t chase after her. Instead, she just looked at her palm, her cheeks faintly reddening.
The size… was just right.
Mi Man sprinted home, her face still burning. Muttering curses about Mu Yunshu under her breath, she rushed upstairs to the bathroom and splashed cold water on her face.
She didn’t know whether she was angry or embarrassed, but her heart was pounding wildly, thumping so hard it felt like it might burst out of her chest.
Staring at her flushed reflection in the mirror, Mi Man covered her face with her hands.
Why was she blushing so much?
This wasn’t how an adult should act at all.
Closing her eyes, she could still feel the heat on her cheeks.
And… just what was wrong with her?
The more time she spent with Mu Yunshu, the more Mi Man felt like she was becoming… strange.
For the next few days, Mi Man avoided Mu Yunshu entirely due to rehearsals. Mu Yunshu understood why and gave her space.
And in the meantime… she took care of some personal business of her own.
On the first Saturday of the month, Xingnu held her long-awaited fan meeting at a modest local concert hall after over half a month of preparation.
Peering from backstage at the completely packed venue, Mi Man asked her companions in surprise, “Have we ever had this many people before?”
Mu Xiaoxiao rested her chin on Mi Man’s head and leaned out to look. “Wow, so many people~”
Another girl also poked her head out. “Are we getting famous?!”
“This is amazing!”
“We’re totally blowing up!”
Just as the group was chattering excitedly, Sister Gu sighed and pulled the girls back.
“Stop gawking and go prepare for the opening dance.”
“Okay~”
Meanwhile.
Outside the concert hall, unbeknownst to Mi Man, Mu Yunshu wore an orange support wristband for Mi Man and followed the large crowd of fans.
At the front, a girl held up a light sign with Mi Man written on it and addressed the group. “Today, we’ll cheer Mi Man on and show her all the love from her support team!”
The crowd & Mu Yunshu: “Endless love! Love overflowing!”
A younger girl behind Mu Yunshu tapped the fully disguised woman and whispered, “You look unfamiliar, sis. Are you new to the fan club?”
“Ah, yes,” Mu Yunshu replied cheerfully behind her mask and sunglasses. “Please take care of me~”
Support "BEING THE DIVA’S RUMORED GIRLFRIEND [ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY]"
A pretty nice read, the relationship between Mu Yunshu and Mi Man is pretty sweet, and past the initial hurdle, the story become more slice of life-ish, with most of the issue being media related as opposed to relationship issue. I do think that some issues got solved a bit too quickly or didn’t get proper enough resolution, which left me a bit wanting, but overall it was all pretty good
Another mystery that I feel like didn’t get enough attention was the fact that Mi Man has met Mu Yunshu when she was younger, but eventually forgot. The story bring up the subject multiples times, but Mi Man never actually remember it, although what exactly happened back then is shown in the story extra.
Hello! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Glad you enjoyed Mu Yunshu and Mi Man’s story. Some parts were rushed, but overall it was a sweet read. Thanks again for reading. 🙂
