Being the Diva’s Rumored Girlfriend [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 27
“So, all your time from now on belongs to me.”
Mi Man stared blankly at the woman wearing oversized sunglasses before her, suddenly realizing that Mu Yunshu truly… really liked her.
From childhood, Mi Man had always been a quiet girl.
Back in her hometown, she would go straight home after school—the type of obedient child who wouldn’t go out to play until finishing homework.
Though not the top student, she was undoubtedly the most well-behaved among her peers.
Everyone would praise her obedience, then naturally assign her tasks—offering a piece of candy to make her do something became routine.
No one ever asked whether she was willing, whether she liked it, or if it was okay.
Even her unnecessary sacrifices became taken for granted.
Only this person before her would always consider Mi Man’s feelings, never making her feel awkward or embarrassed.
So… did Mu Yunshu genuinely like her?
At least in this moment, Mi Man believed so…
Seeing Mi Man’s dazed gaze, Mu Yunshu didn’t know what the girl was looking at, yet sensed Mi Man radiating a need for her presence.
Many fans remained in the venue, excitedly recording videos on their phones when they spotted Mu Yunshu, uploading them online immediately.
Mi Man felt her eyes stinging slightly. Rubbing the corners, she asked quietly, “Why did you come?”
Mu Yunshu gently brushed away the moisture at Mi Man’s eyes, smiling softly. “Do I need a reason to visit my girlfriend?”
Blushing, Mi Man avoided Mu Yunshu’s intense gaze, unsure where to look.
“Your remaining time is mine now,” Mu Yunshu whispered, lowering her head. “So could you talk with me a bit more?”
Bystanders watched them with expressions of being force-fed dog food, making Mi Man blush crimson to her neck. Clutching Mu Yunshu’s hand tightly, she murmured, “W-what do you want to talk about…”
Mu Yunshu pondered briefly. “Let’s discuss how you called me a female hooligan on stage earlier.”
Mi Man’s face turned even redder.
Oh no—caught badmouthing someone!
She wanted to explain, but words failed her under Mu Yunshu’s gaze, especially with her hand firmly held—escape was impossible.
As people kept filming with their phones, Mu Yunshu grew displeased. Leaning close to Mi Man’s ear, she whispered, “When do you finish work?”
Mu Yunshu’s breath tickled Mi Man’s neck, leaving her mind blank.
“A-after selling all the records…”
“Then come with me now.”
Without waiting for agreement, Mu Yunshu pulled Mi Man from behind the table and swiftly led her through the staff exit before anyone could react.
Mu Xiaoxiao and others sat dumbfounded, watching them leave before asking, “Does that mean… we can clock out too?”
Outside, Mu Yunshu removed her cap and placed it on Mi Man’s head instead.
Night had deepened.
The side entrance of the autumn concert hall stood nearly deserted as Mu Yunshu held Mi Man’s hand tightly, walking along the cobblestone path.
“Wait…”
Mi Man covered her head to keep her hat from falling off as she trotted after Muyun Shu, saying, “We can’t just leave like this. There’s still some cleanup work to be done.”
Muyun Shu, walking ahead with her back turned, laughed as her voice carried on the wind, “Don’t worry. They all know I took you away. No one will blame you for anything.”
“Even so, I—”
Before she could finish, Mi Man suddenly noticed the person walking briskly in front had stopped, and she couldn’t brake in time—plunging straight into her!
“Oof—!”
Mi Man’s nose collided hard with Muyun Shu’s shoulder, the pain making her eyes water.
Muyun Shu hadn’t expected her to hit so hard either and quickly looked down to check.
There was Mi Man, her nose and eyes both red, still clutching her hat to keep it from falling as she looked up—her expression both aggrieved and pitiful, yet somehow… adorable.
Today, Mi Man’s makeup was soft and pink, with a hint of shimmer at the corners of her eyes—likely a special kind of eyeshadow that made her gaze sparkle like the Milky Way in the night.
Muyun Shu felt a sudden flutter in her chest. She reached out to gently rub Mi Man’s nose, then finally leaned down and kissed her.
Mi Man stiffened at first but soon relaxed.
Their lips met intimately, leaving Mi Man’s mind utterly blank.
When Muyun Shu finally pulled back, she smiled and said, “Tastes like cherries.”
Blushing furiously, Mi Man yanked her hat down to cover her face, while Muyun Shu laughed uncontrollably before lifting her own hat and kissing her again.
On the empty late-night street, the two embraced in kisses.
Their breaths grew hotter, and Mi Man felt her legs and waist go weak. If not for Muyun Shu’s arm around her, she might have collapsed right onto the pavement.
“Mmm…”
When the intense kiss finally ended, Mi Man gasped for air as if she’d just run an 800-meter race.
Muyun Shu licked her lips, still savoring that sweet cherry flavor—utterly intoxicating.
Holding Mi Man’s hand, she lowered her head and teased, “Earlier, you called me a rogue. Shouldn’t I do something a rogue would do?”
Mi Man shrank back, mumbling an apology, “S-sorry, I shouldn’t have teased you…”
But she wasn’t exactly wrong…
“I’m quite petty, you know,” Muyun Shu said, squeezing Mi Man’s hand. “How are you going to make it up to me?”
Mi Man puffed her cheeks and huffed, “What do you want?”
Muyun Shu’s eyes sparkled mischievously. “Come to the car with me?”
Mi Man: “…No!”
In this situation, who knew what would happen in the car? Absolutely not!
“I won’t do anything wild in the car,” Muyun Shu pouted.
“I don’t believe you!” Mi Man stubbornly retorted.
“Wahhh…”

Meanwhile, backstage at the concert hall.
The rest of the group, exhausted after a long day, sprawled out while waiting for their driver to call them to the car.
Cheng Jing stood by the window, gazing at the dim scenery outside.
“Captain, what are you looking at?”
Mu Xiaoxiao leaned over to peek and immediately gasped. “Ah! Isn’t that Mi Man and Muyun Shu—”
Cheng Jing shot her a glance. “Keep it down.”
“Whoa—!” Mu Xiaoxiao pressed against the window, straining to see. “They’re kissing, they’re kissing! Wow, this is intense!”
Cheng Jing frowned in displeasure, pulling the person down and casually closing the window.
Mu Xiaoxiao curled her lips disdainfully. “Why won’t you let me look? I haven’t had enough yet.”
Cheng Jing replied indifferently, “Pack your things. We’re heading back soon.”
“Fine.” Mu Xiaoxiao walked over and sat on a chair. “Just now, some fans asked about Yao Xuan. When does the company plan to address it?”
Cheng Jing remained expressionless. “Don’t worry about it. The company will handle it.”
Mu Xiaoxiao wanted to press further, but seeing Cheng Jing’s dismissive attitude, she swallowed her frustration. Muttering a curse under her breath, she stormed off.
After everyone returned, some took showers while others pretended to be dead. The dorm didn’t quiet down until past 1 a.m.
Fresh out of the shower, Cheng Jing glanced at Mi Man’s empty bed and froze inexplicably.
The image of Mi Man and Mu Yunshu kissing near the concert hall tonight kept replaying in her mind like a nightmare, stirring an uncontrollable resentment in her chest.
Angry. Agitated.
Yet she couldn’t show it.
Cheng Jing wasn’t stupid. She had always known Mi Man liked her. They had been neighbors since childhood, attending the same schools.
From a very young age, Mi Man had trailed after Cheng Jing like a clumsy little shadow—adorable in her stumbling persistence. Even in high school, Mi Man still followed her, though she had grown quieter by then.
She no longer clung to Cheng Jing or babbled incoherently.
Though there was some distance now, Cheng Jing knew Mi Man’s feelings hadn’t changed.
But tonight, seeing Mi Man with Mu Yunshu—it genuinely infuriated her.
Cheng Jing didn’t understand why she was so angry. If Mi Man ever confessed, she would reject her anyway. And even if she didn’t, Mi Man’s fate wouldn’t be much better than Yao Xuan’s.
After all, she only enjoyed the thrill of being pursued.
Sitting on her bed, Cheng Jing lost track of time until she heard the faint sound of the door opening downstairs.
Mi Man must have returned. She kicked off her shoes, tossed her belongings onto the sofa, then padded barefoot to the first-floor bathroom to wash her face. After grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge, she sipped it while heading upstairs.
Having lived with Mi Man for twenty years, Cheng Jing could predict her every move even with her eyes closed.
Click—
Mi Man cautiously pushed the door open, only to startle at the sight of Cheng Jing sitting motionless on the bed.
“You’re still awake?” Mi Man blinked in surprise. It was already 3 a.m.—why was Cheng Jing sitting there like some ghost?
Cheng Jing glanced at the half-empty water bottle in Mi Man’s hand and her bare feet, smiling faintly. “Couldn’t sleep.”
Mi Man nodded, then suddenly brightened. “Wait here!”
With that, she dashed downstairs, rummaged for something, then hurried back up with a series of thumps.
“This is for you.” Climbing onto Cheng Jing’s bed ladder, Mi Man placed a palm-sized gift box in her hands. “It’s past midnight, but… happy birthday.”
Cheng Jing’s heart suddenly skipped a beat as she looked at the smiling Mi Man before her, inexplicably feeling her pulse falter.
She lowered her gaze to the small box in her hands—a tiny mousse cake.
“Thank you,” Cheng Jing murmured. “You’re the only one who still remembers my birthday.”
Mi Man, gripping the edge of the bed, chuckled. “Not true! Your fans remember too. I saw all the gifts they sent you.”
Cheng Jing shook her head. “Fans are fans. You’re you.”
Mi Man froze for a moment before smiling again. “Then I guess I should count as your fan too.”
Though spoken lightly, the words struck deep. Cheng Jing had never realized just how gentle Mi Man was. She thought back to how, ever since her public relationship with Yao Xuan, nothing good had come her way—her image had crumbled, fans had hurled abuse, and her career had taken a nosedive. The pressure had been relentless.
At this moment, Cheng Jing felt nothing but gratitude that Mi Man was still by her side.
“Manman,” Cheng Jing said, meeting her gaze. “Can you… always stay with me?”
Mi Man blinked. “Huh?”
Holding the cake, Cheng Jing continued, “In this big city where I have no one else, you’re the only person who truly matters to me. So… can you promise to always be here?”
Just like before—chasing after her, doting on her, with every second, every glance, every thought devoted to her.
Mi Man’s eyes flickered, uncertainty flashing across her face.
What did Cheng Jing mean by this?
Had she noticed something?
Or… was she trying to tell Mi Man something?
Cheng Jing’s words sent ripples through Mi Man’s long-calm heart, stirring up emotions she couldn’t quite place. After a pause, she forced a wry smile and replied, “Of course! We’re friends, aren’t we?”

A pretty nice read, the relationship between Mu Yunshu and Mi Man is pretty sweet, and past the initial hurdle, the story become more slice of life-ish, with most of the issue being media related as opposed to relationship issue. I do think that some issues got solved a bit too quickly or didn’t get proper enough resolution, which left me a bit wanting, but overall it was all pretty good
Another mystery that I feel like didn’t get enough attention was the fact that Mi Man has met Mu Yunshu when she was younger, but eventually forgot. The story bring up the subject multiples times, but Mi Man never actually remember it, although what exactly happened back then is shown in the story extra.
Hello! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Glad you enjoyed Mu Yunshu and Mi Man’s story. Some parts were rushed, but overall it was a sweet read. Thanks again for reading. 🙂
