Big Miss and White Moonlight, Stop Fighting! - Chapter 10
Chapter 10: I Have One Condition
Wen Wuxin was completely unaware of Jiang Qingyue’s inner thoughts. She had only been pretending to rest with her eyes closed, as the other woman’s gaze was so intense that she knew she was being stared at even without opening her eyes.
Fortunately, a few minutes later, the scorching gaze finally disappeared.
Half an hour later, the Bentley drove into a private club owned by the Jiang family, and the two entered a very private room.
“Miss Wen, I’ll be direct with you.”
It was clear that Jiang Qingyue no longer intended to engage in polite chitchat.
Wen Wuxin smiled. “Please do.”
“I like women,” Jiang Qingyue said with a languid tone. “You’re very beautiful, and I like you a lot.”
Wen Wuxin didn’t stay silent. She met the familiar yet unfamiliar peach blossom eyes. “Miss Jiang, you are also very beautiful.”
Jiang Qingyue’s red lips curled into a smile. “Then it seems that Miss Wen and I have a mutual attraction.”
Wen Wuxin sneered internally, but a blush appeared on her face.
Jiang Qingyue gazed at the ripples on the surface of the tea in her cup and said unhurriedly, “However, we need to establish three ground rules first.”
“First, our relationship must be kept a secret for now. I will decide when to make it public. Second, I can give you money, and if you need resources or help with your painting, I can provide that as well. Third, and most importantly, our relationship is not a romantic one. There are some things you can’t ask for.”
It was a very typical, dominant position.
Jiang Qingyue’s meaning was clear.
She wanted Wen Wuxin to be her lover without a title, and while she could give her a lot of money, she couldn’t give her love.
In a way, it was a very pure relationship based solely on desire and the exchange of interests.
After Jiang Qingyue said this, she saw Wen Wuxin’s face visibly turn pale.
“…I don’t want your money,” her voice was almost inaudible.
Jiang Qingyue frowned. She hadn’t expected the other woman to be so difficult. Are all artists so disdainful of money?
But she had already said that there were other things she couldn’t give.
Before Jiang Qingyue could say anything, Wen Wuxin lowered her eyes and said softly, “I agree to all three of your conditions. But I also have one condition.”
“Let’s hear it.”
“When it’s just the two of us,” Wen Wuxin bit her lip, her eyes filled with undisguised shyness and anticipation, “I don’t want to call you Miss Jiang. I want to call you Qingyue.”
“Hmm?” Jiang Qingyue asked in surprise. “That’s your only condition?”
Wen Wuxin nodded. “Is that okay, Qingyue?”
Jiang Qingyue had heard countless people say her name, but this was the first time someone had said it with such intimacy, and it made her pause for a moment.
Then she smiled and shook her head helplessly. “You’ve already gone ahead and called me that, so how can I go back on it?”
Wen Wuxin seems to really like me. Jiang Qingyue thought with certainty.
“I’m very happy, Qingyue.” Wen Wuxin smiled, her eyes filled with pure joy, like the first ray of sunlight in spring, bringing all life to bloom.
Jiang Qingyue cleared her throat. She realized she had overestimated herself.
She seemed to be bad at dealing with such gentle and passionate affection head-on.
She shifted her gaze to the exquisitely plated pastries on the table. “Well, eat more. Don’t let anyone say that being with me is making you starve.”
“Can you call me Xin Xin?” Wen Wuxin suddenly asked.
Jiang Qingyue didn’t know why she couldn’t bring herself to say it. She was the one who had proposed the three conditions and rapidly advanced their relationship, but now she was tongue-tied. “…I’ll call you Wuxin.”
Wen Wuxin shook her head. “My teachers and friends call me that, but you’re different from them.”
When people are embarrassed, they become very busy.
Jiang Qingyue rotated her teacup, scratched her face, and adjusted the strands of hair that were falling across her chest, looking around aimlessly.
Even though it was just her and Wen Wuxin in the private room.
Seeing this, the disappointment in Wen Wuxin’s eyes seemed genuine, but she forced a smile and said understandingly, “If Qingyue doesn’t want to, then it’s fine. If you feel my nickname for you is too intimate, I can go back to calling you Miss Jiang.”
“No, that’s not it. You misunderstood,” Jiang Qingyue quickly denied.
But when it came to explaining, she found it difficult to speak.
This was the first time Jiang Qingyue had disappointed someone’s sincere heart. She felt that she was using the other woman, and yet the other woman’s love was so genuine.
She felt she didn’t have the right to call her by such an intimate name.
During the silent standoff, Wen Wuxin’s beautiful eyes became teary, and she looked like she was about to cry.
Jiang Qingyue blurted out without thinking, “Xin Xin.”
These two words finally earned her a smile from the beauty. The gloom in Wen Wuxin’s eyes completely disappeared, and she hummed happily.
Jiang Qingyue didn’t know why she was so relieved, even though her relationship with Wen Wuxin was supposed to be purely for her own gain.
When people feel guilty, the most typical thing they do is spend money on the other person—
At least, that’s what Jiang Qingyue did.
She took out her supplementary credit card. “I’ll send you the password on WeChat. You can use this card however you want, or you can transfer the money to your own card. I’ll put money on this card every month.”
Wen Wuxin didn’t move.
Jiang Qingyue pushed the card over. “If you don’t take it, our relationship can’t begin.”
Wen Wuxin finally took the credit card, which felt light yet heavy.
“Xin Xin, I have to tell you,” Jiang Qingyue said, choosing her words carefully, “that by choosing to be with me, you might have to endure a lot.”
But Wen Wuxin had long passed the point of no return.
She just looked at the conflicted Jiang Qingyue, shook her head, and indicated that she didn’t care.
The atmosphere became much more silent.
After a long time, Wen Wuxin asked again, “Although we’re not in a relationship, can we still have secret dates?”
Jiang Qingyue nodded slightly. “Of course.”
She still needed to practice on Wen Wuxin. Dating was the best way to gain practical experience, and Jiang Qingyue wouldn’t miss it.
“Where do you want to go? Maybe a painting exhibition?” Jiang Qingyue tried to cater to her interests.
But Wen Wuxin blinked. “What do you like to do when you’re resting, Qingyue?”
It was impossible to tell her the truth, so Jiang Qingyue said nonchalantly, “Traveling all over the world, watching horse races, skiing, skydiving, and shopping.”
It was a very typical way of life for a good-for-nothing rich heiress.
“The things you like aren’t the things I like,” Wen Wuxin said honestly.
Jiang Qingyue chuckled. “That’s true. After doing those things a lot, I also get bored. So what about you, Xin Xin? What do you usually like to do?”
Jiang Qingyue didn’t realize that in just a few minutes, she had gone from resisting to calling Wen Wuxin “Xin Xin” very naturally.
Wen Wuxin used her fork to pick up a slice of strawberry shortcake and slowly chewed it.
The fragrance of the cream and the sweetness of the strawberries blended perfectly. Wen Wuxin couldn’t help but squint her eyes. “The things I like are also very boring. But, I think as long as I’m doing things with you, no matter what we’re doing, it will be very interesting.”
The other woman’s expression made Jiang Qingyue feel a tickle in her heart. She also picked up a piece of strawberry cake. “Is it that good?”
Hmm, it’s pretty good. But Jiang Qingyue couldn’t shake the feeling that the piece Wen Wuxin just ate was better.
