Big Miss and White Moonlight, Stop Fighting! - Chapter 25
Chapter 25: The Fearless Reverser
The familiar nightmare repeated itself, and Wen Wuxin didn’t understand why this was happening.
If the past couldn’t be changed, why was she being forced to experience the pain again?
Her once gentle, serene, and pure sister was now covered in bloody wounds.
Wen Wuxin’s expression twisted for a moment. She bit her lip, seemingly having made a decision.
Although she hadn’t been able to save Jiang Qingyue, she still had the right to choose.
Jiang Qingyue’s calmness finally vanished. Her pupils constricted in disbelief. “Wen Wuxin, what are you doing?!”
The way out to life was right in front of them, and Wen Wuxin had been within reach.
But she chose to reverse course, moving fearlessly towards Jiang Qingyue, towards death.
The two young bodies pressed together not-so-tightly. Wen Wuxin couldn’t see Jiang Qingyue’s face, or rather, she didn’t dare to look at that face.
Wen Wuxin didn’t hesitate to reach for Jiang Qingyue’s left hand, which had been pierced by a branch, with her right hand, which could only be described as precious.
The tip of the branch was incredibly sharp. Wen Wuxin seemed to feel no pain. She actively and forcefully pressed her soft palm forward, letting it pierce her own palm.
The two bloody palms finally came together. Wen Wuxin was panting slightly. The temperature inside the car was getting higher and higher, and the black smoke was thick. She was already feeling a little dizzy.
“Sister,” her voice was so soft it was almost a whisper. “Don’t think about leaving me behind.”
I’m not afraid of death. I’m more afraid of all of you leaving me behind and letting me live a lonely life.
This was the first time Wen Wuxin had heard Jiang Qingyue cry.
Jiang Qingyue’s voice was broken and choked. “Don’t… Xin Xin, I want you to live. Don’t die, please don’t die.”
But Sister, if you’re all gone, it’s too exhausting for me to live alone.
But Wen Wuxin was too weak to speak. All her emotions turned into a warm tear that rolled down from the corner of her eye.
An indescribable fear was about to completely swallow Jiang Qingyue. She was both terrified and sad to find that there was nothing she could do at this moment.
A metallic taste of bl00d welled up in her throat. She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but in the end, she only vomited a mouthful of bl00d and completely lost consciousness.
…
“…Doctor, she’s awake!”
Wen Wuxin’s eyelashes fluttered. She struggled to open her eyelids, which felt like a thousand pounds. Before her vision was clear, she heard a hurried female voice.
Sister Qingyue?!
The familiar voice made Wen Wuxin’s heart stop. She tried hard to open her eyes and focus her vision. She did see the face she had been thinking about day and night.
“Qing… yue…”
She struggled to say the two words.
Jiang Qingyue knelt down without any regard for her image. She placed her hand under Wen Wuxin’s left palm, which was receiving an IV drip, and said in a trembling voice, “I’m here.”
Even though it was only a minor injury, Wen Wuxin had been in a coma for a day and a night for some reason. Jiang Qingyue didn’t know that time could pass so slowly.
Wen Wuxin’s mind froze. Her cherry lips were slightly parted, but she didn’t say anything else.
Jiang Qingyue didn’t miss the deep affection in Wen Wuxin’s eyes when she first woke up and looked at her.
She also didn’t miss the disappointment that flashed in Wen Wuxin’s eyes after that, and…
Jiang Qingyue didn’t know if it was disgust. She wasn’t sure.
Her head started to hurt again, but Wen Wuxin acted as if nothing had happened. She was as docile as she was before.
“Qingyue, are you okay?”
Jiang Qingyue shook her head. “I’m fine. Why were you so foolish…”
Love can be faked, but in the face of life and death, instinct doesn’t lie.
Jiang Qingyue had thought that Wen Wuxin might have really liked her, but now she realized that she had really underestimated Wen Wuxin’s feelings for her.
Perhaps it wasn’t just liking, but a love that would make her overcome her fear of death and choose to keep her alive in the face of life and death.
Wen Wuxin slightly curved her lips. She said softly, “It’s good that you’re okay, Qingyue. I’m a little tired and want to rest for a bit.”
The doctor arrived at this moment. After confirming that Wen Wuxin was fine, Jiang Qingyue touched the other woman’s face, letting her rest assured.
Wen Wuxin closed her eyes, her heart a wasteland.
It was all fake.
Ever since she started interacting with Jiang Qingyue, Wen Wuxin had always been able to tell the difference. She knew that despite having the same physical appearance, the person in front of her was Jiang Qingyue, not her Sister Qingyue.
But after she and Jiang Qingyue started driving up the mountain, the fear from that nightmare in the past came rushing back uncontrollably. And when the car accident really happened, Wen Wuxin’s mind had wandered.
For the first time, she truly mistook Jiang Qingyue for Jiang Qingyue.
At that moment, she only had one thought in her mind: Jiang Qingyue must not die, and she must not die for her again.
How ridiculous. She saved the person she thought was “Jiang Qingyue.”
But that wasn’t Jiang Qingyue; it was Jiang Qingyue.
After she passed out, she fell back into the dream and returned to the nightmare she had at sixteen.
Wen Wuxin, how useless are you? Even in a dream, you can’t save Jiang Qingyue.
Wen Wuxin closed her eyes, harshly scolding herself in her heart. This was all too ironic.
The only time she succeeded was when she saved Jiang Qingyue’s enemy.
