Chapter 31: She really Became a Weakness
Both Jiang Qingyue and Wen Wuxin knew that “just sleeping” was anything but simple.
A soft whimper escaped from her cherry lips. Wen Wuxin’s eyes were filled with tears. She reached out and wrapped her arms around the other woman’s swan-like neck, her gaze focused on the other woman’s full and sensual red lips.
An index finger pressed against her lips. Jiang Qingyue then applied some pressure, feeling the soft touch from her fingertip.
“Qingyue…” The desire in Wen Wuxin’s eyes was about to spill out.
Jiang Qingyue’s smile was alluring, but her words were heartless. “Getting distracted at a time like this. As punishment, I won’t kiss you.”
After not finding what she was looking for in Jiang Qingyue’s study, how could Wen Wuxin be in a good mood?
Wen Wuxin’s mind was currently filled with thoughts of where Qingyue was, if she was still alive, and how she was doing.
However, this “Qingyue” was not the same “Qingyue” as the person in front of her.
But Wen Wuxin was still a little shocked. She had thought her concealment was flawless and wouldn’t be noticed.
The disappointment and sadness she had shown in front of Jiang Qingyue in the past were all deliberate flaws she had revealed, not her true feelings.
Since when had Jiang Qingyue been able to glimpse her true thoughts?
But now that she had been discovered, she shouldn’t try to hide it anymore.
The clarity in Wen Wuxin’s eyes gradually returned. Her body also cooled down a bit, and she said softly:
“…I’m worried.”
Jiang Qingyue held her chin from above, but her tone was very gentle. “Worried about what?”
Wen Wuxin lowered her eyes. “I rushed a lot of my paintings while preparing for the exhibition, and I’m not very happy with many of them. I’m worried that the guests won’t like them at the exhibition.”
Jiang Qingyue finally kissed her.
Their breathing became rapid. Jiang Qingyue finally chose to end the kiss. She squeezed Wen Wuxin’s not-so-thick earlobe. “Who dares to say anything bad about you? My great painter, be a little more confident. You are the best painter in the world.”
This wasn’t just Jiang Qingyue blindly praising her through a filter. Even if she was a businesswoman who didn’t understand art, she knew that Wen Wuxin’s artistic talent and commercial value as a painter were both top-notch among the younger generation.
But Wen Wuxin was, after all, too young and had seen too little. It was normal for her to lack some confidence.
Seeing Jiang Qingyue’s mood visibly improve, Wen Wuxin also said softly, “I’m sorry, my distraction because of this affected us during…”
“During what?” Jiang Qingyue deliberately pressed, but then laughed lazily. “It’s fine. Now that I know you were distracted because of this, I won’t blame you.”
A hint of seductiveness appeared in Wen Wuxin’s eyes. She pushed Jiang Qingyue onto her back. Her black hair swayed with her movements. “Then what would I have to be distracted about for you to get angry, Qingyue?”
It was just a flirtatious question, but Jiang Qingyue’s answer had a touch of absurd humor.
“If you were distracted because of fried mushrooms, I would,” the lying Jiang Qingyue pinched the soft flesh of Wen Wuxin’s thigh, “be angry.”
Wen Wuxin laughed so hard she lost her strength. She simply lay on top of Jiang Qingyue. “What are you talking about?”
Who would be jealous of a dish?
Jiang Qingyue became even more righteous. “You love to paint, and that’s your career, which I support. But you love fried mushrooms and want to eat them every meal, and I…”
Jiang Qingyue’s words trailed off. She hummed. “Anyway, you’re not allowed to be distracted by fried mushrooms at a time like this.”
She didn’t know why, but she was being so petty about a dish, as if her subconscious mind was very resistant to Wen Wuxin’s love for fried mushrooms.
In the end, they didn’t continue the absurd topic of fried mushrooms, after all, the night was still long.
The next morning.
When Wen Wuxin woke up, it was already past ten o’clock. The other side of the bed was long empty.
She slowly sat up, trying to ignore the soreness in her body. She propped herself up on the bed with her hands, her eyes clear.
It seemed that Jiang Qingyue was indeed unaware of what happened to Jiang Qingyue.
The only person who knew was Jiang Qingyue’s mother, Jiang Asheng.
Her thoughts became clearer, but a sense of fear suddenly arose in Wen Wuxin.
What was certain now was that during the fire at the Jiang family’s main residence more than twenty years ago, although Jiang Qingyue had officially gone missing, she had not died.
Otherwise, who was the person who grew up with her for more than a decade?
But why did the Jiang family’s eldest daughter grow up under another identity, and how much did Jiang Asheng participate in this matter? Wen Wuxin still didn’t know.
Also, was the car accident a few years ago an accident or intentional? If it was intentional, who was the mastermind?
Did Jiang Qingyue and the other adults really die?
This last question was a bit of self-deception. Wen Wuxin knew that those five people had already been declared “dead.”
But what if? She was like a person walking on a tightrope. Even if the ending would most likely be a fall into the abyss, she was still going to take the chance for that one in a million possibility.
Checking Jiang Qingyue’s computer in her study wasn’t difficult, but it would be a whole different level of difficulty to find these secrets in Jiang Asheng’s study.
Jiang Asheng was completely different from her daughter, Jiang Qingyue. While Jiang Qingyue had no defenses against Wen Wuxin, Jiang Asheng had the ability to see right through Wen Wuxin’s thoughts.
Wen Wuxin sighed.
But she had already come this far. No matter how difficult it was, she had to keep going.
“Jiang Asheng,” Wen Wuxin mumbled the name.
“I hope you protected your daughter well, and not…”
Shaking her head, Wen Wuxin patted her own cheeks. “There’s no need to think about things that are too far in the future. Wen Wuxin, you have to persevere.”
It was much harder to get a lead from Jiang Asheng than from Jiang Qingyue. For more than a year after that, Wen Wuxin never found a suitable opportunity.
Although there were a few times when Jiang Asheng called Jiang Qingyue to talk about some things in her study, Wen Wuxin didn’t even have a chance to get close to the desk, let alone check the computer and look for important documents.
Wen Wuxin didn’t dare to act rashly. She was afraid that one wrong step would lead to a cascade of wrong steps, and she would lose the chance to find the truth forever.
Compared to Wen Wuxin’s inner turmoil, Jiang Qingyue was still following her old ways. She had more and more lovers outside over the years, and it was a common occurrence for her to be on the front page of the gossip news every few months.
Wen Wuxin wasn’t in a hurry. She could see that Jiang Qingyue had become a little more genuine towards her. Although this genuineness was cheap, it was enough for her to live in the Jiang family for a long time.
However, Jiang Qingyue seemed to love her even more than Wen Wuxin had imagined.
Jiang Qingyue could love her so much that she would give her a title and a legitimate identity.
Her thoughts returned to the present. Wen Wuxin only felt a sneer in her heart, but on the surface, she still smiled bitterly and choked up a little. “Qingyue, I’ll accept the ring, but as for your request… there will be a more suitable person for you to marry.”
Jiang Qingyue took a deep breath. “What happened before, I was wrong. I admit it—”
She gritted her teeth and said with difficulty, “I used you when I first chose to be in that kind of relationship with you. I had to use various actions to hide my true intentions.”
Everyone has their own difficulties, but that’s no excuse for doing bad things.
Jiang Qingyue trembled as she tore open the ugly truth, leaving only a bloody mess.
Wen Wuxin looked as if she had already known. She smiled and asked, “Did I help you?”
“Hmm?”
Jiang Qingyue was prepared to be questioned, but she didn’t expect such an answer.
Jiang Qingyue gave a self-deprecating smile. Yes, this was Wen Wuxin. No matter how outrageous she was, she would be able to tolerate and forgive her.
But Jiang Qingyue herself couldn’t get over it.
“You did help me,” Jiang Qingyue’s voice was barely audible. “Now everyone thinks you’re very important to me. They’ll think you’re my weakness and that they can use you to control me.”
The recent attack at the art exhibition was a signal of provocation from those people.
Jiang Qingyue didn’t dare to imagine what would have happened if they had succeeded. If they had hurt Wen Wuxin’s hands, how would Wen Wuxin paint? How would she continue to have a career in art?
Jiang Qingyue was very good at making assumptions. Over the years, she had avoided a lot of trouble thanks to her many self-assumptions.
But now, Jiang Qingyue didn’t even have the courage to make assumptions. She didn’t dare to think about it.
In her original plan, this was all an act, a smokescreen she had set up for her enemies. The real her couldn’t have a weakness. She had to be flawless.
In fact, if necessary, Wen Wuxin was supposed to be her shield.
And indeed, in the accidental car crash before, although it wasn’t her intention, Wen Wuxin had indeed shielded her without hesitation.
Even the outside world, upon learning of this, was amazed that Jiang Qingyue had some real charm in her love life. Even a lover who was just a monetary transaction could love her enough to give up their life for her.
Only Jiang Qingyue herself knew that Wen Wuxin wasn’t after her money.
If Wen Wuxin was only after her money and status, then Jiang Qingyue could have used and been used by Wen Wuxin with a clear conscience, each getting what they wanted.
But Wen Wuxin didn’t want her money; she only wanted her sincerity.
As the days went by, Jiang Qingyue initially thought that her feelings for Wen Wuxin were just a result of possessiveness and a physiological attraction.
s3x had rapidly closed the distance between the two of them.
So, Jiang Qingyue naturally assumed that even if she liked the other person, it was mostly because of desire and instinct.
But now, Jiang Qingyue realized that Wen Wuxin had really become her weakness.
To hell with the Jiang family, to hell with revenge. I quit!
This thought had been appearing more and more frequently in Jiang Qingyue’s mind lately when she was with Wen Wuxin.
But it was only a thought. You can’t have your cake and eat it too, but Jiang Qingyue couldn’t let go of either side.
Sighing inwardly, Jiang Qingyue hadn’t expected that after all her scheming, she would be the one to fall for it in the end.
But not only was she not angry, she was even glad that she had realized her true feelings at this moment.
If something irreparable happened later, then even if Wen Wuxin were to forgive Jiang Qingyue, Jiang Qingyue herself would never be able to forgive herself.
