Big Miss and White Moonlight, Stop Fighting! - Chapter 38
Chapter 38: Both of Them?
Through the transparent plastic film, one could see how delicious and tempting the cake inside looked.
But Wen Wuxin had no intention of tasting the delicacy. She pursed her lips, wanting to turn and look at Jiang Qingyue but not daring to.
She didn’t know how much Jiang Qingyue knew about her situation.
“Xin Xin’s favorite cake is the green grape cake,” Jiang Qingyue said, not too heavily or too lightly.
Jiang Qingyue wasn’t angry at all. She smiled brightly. “People’s tastes aren’t set in stone.”
Placing the cake box on the counter, Jiang Qingyue put her hand into her coat pocket. “Xin Xin, come here.”
Wen Wuxin walked over.
Jiang Qingyue took a small box out of her pocket. When she opened it, there was a silver ring inside.
“Xin Xin is always so careless. How did you forget to wear our engagement ring again today?”
Jiang Qingyue’s tone was smiling, but her eyes were fixed on Jiang Qingyue—
It was a complete provocation.
Jiang Qingyue knew, of course, that Wen Wuxin didn’t forget to wear the engagement ring; she did it on purpose. But that didn’t matter. She had to declare her ownership.
Putting the silver ring on the other woman’s slender left middle finger, Jiang Qingyue held her hand. Even after feeling the other woman’s stiffness and resistance, she still kissed her fingertips.
The burning gaze from behind almost pierced Wen Wuxin. She didn’t dare to look back, but she also couldn’t respond to Jiang Qingyue.
“Oh, right, Mom said she was looking for you, in her study. Xin Xin, you should go find her.” Jiang Qingyue handed the cake box to Wen Wuxin, and while she was talking, she pushed Wen Wuxin out of the kitchen.
Jiang Qingyue, who hadn’t moved before, quickly stepped forward after hearing Jiang Qingyue mention Jiang Asheng. “Xin Xin, I’ll go with you.”
Jiang Qingyue blocked the way between them. “Mom said she wants to see Xin Xin alone.”
Wen Wuxin finally turned around. She smiled. “Then I’ll go find Auntie Jiang first. See you later.”
After seeing Wen Wuxin leave, the atmosphere in the kitchen completely turned cold.
All the other servants, except for Butler Li who was standing at the door, quietly left.
Jiang Qingyue rolled up her sleeves. With a sharp eye, she found the shredded mushrooms and the batter next to them in a pile of ingredients.
Jiang Qingyue also noticed them. She said with a faint smile in her tone, “Xin Xin wanted me to make her fried mushrooms. She’s been craving them since she was a child.”
Jiang Qingyue’s heart ached. She finally understood where her inexplicable hostility towards fried mushrooms had come from.
But her face remained calm, and she smiled in response. “Fried mushrooms aren’t nutritious. It’s fine to eat them once or twice, but if you eat them too much, you’ll get tired of them, and you won’t get enough nutrition.”
Opening the huge built-in double-door refrigerator, Jiang Qingyue familiarized herself with the contents and took out a piece of beef. “You have to eat meat to get nutrition.”
Butler Li, who was outside the kitchen, quickly grabbed Nanny Wang, who was passing by. The two of them stood outside and winked at each other.
Butler Li gave Nanny Wang a look: [What do those words mean?]
Nanny Wang pouted her lips. [They’re declaring war.]
[Declaring war? How can you tell?!]
Butler Li was confused and shocked.
Nanny Wang just smiled and said nothing. She glanced at Jiang Qingyue and winked.
“Miss Jiang won.”
Before Butler Li could ask for an explanation, Nanny Wang had already completed her mission, let go of Butler Li’s hand, and left.
After finishing their somewhat bizarre conversation, the two of them began to focus on cooking their respective dishes.
…
In Jiang Asheng’s study.
“How was it? Did you see Qingyue? Were you happy?”
As soon as Wen Wuxin entered, she heard Jiang Asheng’s question.
She nodded slightly and didn’t make a sound.
“Who do you think is more suitable to be the future heir of the Jiang family?”
The question Wen Wuxin had asked Butler Li that afternoon was now being returned to her by Jiang Asheng.
Wen Wuxin just smiled. “Auntie Jiang, as you know, I’m a painter. I don’t understand business matters.”
Jiang Asheng let out a small laugh. “What if we put those factors aside? From your personal perspective, who would you rather see as the heir?”
Wen Wuxin continued to be polite but became a little more distant. “President Jiang, you’re the one who has the final say. My opinion doesn’t matter.”
Jiang Asheng sighed sincerely.
“Never mind. Let’s not talk about this.”
Wen Wuxin just smiled and nodded.
Jiang Asheng looked at her, who was as polite as a robot, and spoke again.
“One year.”
Before Wen Wuxin could figure out what that meant, Jiang Asheng explained on her own. “For this one year, you’ll stay by Jiang Qingyue’s side as her fiancée. After one year, you’ll be free.”
Free?
This word made Wen Wuxin feel a little lost.
She didn’t seem to need that either.
Jiang Asheng continued, “After one year, when everything has settled, you can see your parents. And you can choose to marry Jiang Qingyue, or you can choose to break off your engagement with her and marry Jiang Qingyue. Whatever you want to choose, you can.”
Wen Wuxin didn’t even think about it. “I won’t marry Jiang Qingyue.”
Jiang Asheng wasn’t surprised. “Okay, so you want to marry Jiang…”
“I won’t marry Jiang Qingyue either.”
Hearing Wen Wuxin’s answer, Jiang Asheng’s expression became strange. She looked like she wanted to say something but held back. Finally, she said slowly:
“So you’re saying you want both of them?”
Wen Wuxin’s ears turned red, not knowing if it was out of embarrassment or anger.
“Of course not!” She quickly refuted. “I mean, I won’t be with either of them.”
Wen Wuxin’s expression didn’t look like she was lying.
Jiang Asheng became interested. She supported her cheek with one hand. “Why? I can understand why you didn’t fall for Jiang Qingyue. But Jiang Qingyue, didn’t you get close to Jiang Qingyue for her? Don’t you love her?”
“Sister Qingyue… Miss Jiang is very important to me. When I was a minor, she was the sister I relied on the most. But I’m very clear that I don’t have romantic feelings for her.”
Wen Wuxin’s expression was firm as she said this, but her heart was uncontrollably wavering.
Jiang Qingyue had left her when she was sixteen. At that time, the young girl had no other emotions in her heart. She just wanted to find the truth and find her family and Jiang Qingyue’s family.
But after playing along with Jiang Qingyue for these three years, Wen Wuxin had tasted s3x and could probably understand what love was.
Asking herself honestly, she couldn’t completely deny that she had a hint of feelings for Jiang Qingyue that went beyond a normal friendship.
But now, she just wanted her family and Jiang Qingyue’s family to be safe and sound. She also wanted Jiang Qingyue to live the wonderful life of a wealthy heiress that should have belonged to her.
As for her own feelings, they didn’t matter.
Jiang Asheng let out a small laugh and didn’t say anything more.
After a few seconds of silence, Jiang Asheng stood up.
“In short, after one year, you can make whatever choice you want. I’ll support you. Alright, let’s go downstairs. It’s time for dinner.”
As soon as they went downstairs and before they reached the dining room, they ran into Jiang Qingyue and Jiang Qingyue coming towards them.
Before Jiang Asheng could say anything, Jiang Qingyue and Jiang Qingyue quickly and strangely appeared behind Wen Wuxin, standing on her left and right sides like guardians.
Jiang Qingyue held Wen Wuxin’s arm, and Jiang Qingyue held Wen Wuxin’s hand in an interlocking grip. Both of their movements were extremely gentle, but their eyes were glaring fiercely at each other.
Jiang Asheng was truly amused. She didn’t care about the three people entangled behind her and continued to walk forward on her own.
Wen Wuxin felt like she was being roasted on a fire. She couldn’t shake off Jiang Qingyue, and she couldn’t break free from Jiang Qingyue.
The three of them arrived at the dining room in an anxious state. Before Jiang Asheng could speak, Jiang Qingyue voluntarily let go first and then pulled out a chair.
“Xin Xin, sit.”
Jiang Qingyue’s expression turned ferocious for a moment. Damn, that woman is so cunning.
