Blue Dream Trail (Soccer) - Episode 8
Autumn is here, and the J. Youth Cup is upon us.
Ren has been promoted to the U-18 team and will start wearing the number 8 jersey for the Ravens U-18 team.
The opponent is the club Onizuka belongs to – Tohto Agrios U-18.
Onizuka made his debut for the top team and quickly became a key player, but after suffering an injury, he only played in the U-18 match as a final preparation.
Immediately after the match began, the eyes of both players crossed.
The first half ended with a score of 1-1.
In the 15th minute of the second half, Ren was caught from behind by Onizuka, leading to a play that led to a goal being conceded.
He felt regret and self-loathing, but Ren didn’t look down.
30 minutes into the second half, a teammate was brought down and we were awarded a free kick in the middle of the opponent’s half.
After handing the ball over to his teammate, Ren made eye contact with the forward.
“What, you’re not going to kick?”
A rustling bench.
But the next moment, Ren made a no-look through pass.
The forward ran in from an angle no one expected and scored a goal.
2-2. A tie.
And then extra time.
After clearing the opponent’s corner kick, Ren made a long pass of 60 meters into the space on the opposite side.
The team’s forward ran in and scored the winning goal.
3-2.
It was the moment when “strategist” and “ruler” became one.

After the match, Onizuka approached me.
“You’re doing it. It pisses me off.”
Ren replied with a laugh.
“Next time, let’s do it on a higher level. Professionally. On the world stage.”

Ren’s height was already over 182cm.
Before his eyes, the blue of “Japan National Team” and the title of “best in the world” were faintly looming.
