Boss, Please Go Easy On Me (GL) - Chapter 12
Yan Xiaomi looked at the nearly finished IV drip. She considered calling An Yao to say she would go back by herself, but looking at the time—ten o’clock—An Yao must be busy. After thinking for a moment, An Yao had already said she was coming to pick her up. Why should she be so proud? It was better not to disturb her.
“Are you hungry?” The nurse walked in with a grin and handed her a box of pure milk, “Have this first to replenish some strength.”
Yan Xiaomi had just felt a little thirsty. Seeing the milk, she didn’t intend to be polite. She took it and said with a smile, “Thank you.”
The nurse helped her remove the needle, feeling a bit guilty looking at her slightly swollen hand, her voice much softer, “I’m sorry…”
“It’s okay.” Yan Xiaomi smiled and sipped the milk, “It will be fine in a few days, don’t worry.”
The nurse suddenly stared at her seriously for a while. After a moment that made Yan Xiaomi feel puzzled, she smiled and said, “You’re so nice.”
“Mhmm, I think so too.” Yan Xiaomi also chuckled.
The young nurse finished tending to her wound and looked at her, noticing she didn’t seem to be leaving, and asked, “Waiting for someone here?”
“Yes.” Yan Xiaomi nodded, then nervously asked, “Is this bed needed by someone?”
“Not for now,” the nurse smiled, “You can stay here for a while. I’ll go and get busy, and I’ll come back to check on you later.”
Yan Xiaomi smiled and nodded. She watched the nurse leave, then lowered her head to play with her phone. As soon as she opened WeChat, she saw an incoming call from an unfamiliar number.
Hesitating for a moment, Yan Xiaomi answered, “Hello.”
“Xiaomi-mi, are you okay? Are you still at the hospital?”
A string of exaggerated and continuous questions left Yan Xiaomi a little confused. Who was this? And calling her Xiaomi-mi, in such a nauseating way. Yan Xiaomi was about to hang up when she heard the other party say again, “An’an and I are coming to see you right away.”
An’an? An Yao? CEO An? Yan Xiaomi thought for a moment. The only person who could call An Yao ‘An’an’ besides her aunt seemed to be Li Wei Sa. Li Wei Sa’s image flashed through Yan Xiaomi’s mind—her alluring manner when grabbing her documents. It was a little unsettling. That woman seemed a bit… unusual.
“Hello? Hello? Xiaomi-mi, are you dead?” Li Wei Sa asked, feigning surprise, “Why aren’t you talking?”
Yan Xiaomi’s face was lined with black streaks. She sighed softly, “Miss Li, thanks to you, I am still alive.”
“Good that you’re not dead. We’ll be there right away. We are…” Li Wei Sa’s voice suddenly drifted away, “An’an, why are you snatching my phone?”
“Driving and talking on the phone. If you want to die, I don’t.”
Yan Xiaomi wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but An Yao’s voice sounded weak, as if she were ill.
An Yao said she was coming to pick her up. Could she be coming to the hospital to see a doctor?
Thinking of this, Yan Xiaomi suddenly asked in a panic, “CEO An, are you alright?”
There was silence for a while before An Yao’s weak voice was heard, “No…”
Yan Xiaomi was still slightly stunned when the phone hung up. She wondered when An Yao would arrive, whether she should wait for her at the entrance, and worried if something was actually wrong with her.
Yan Xiaomi couldn’t sit still. She stood up and walked towards the hospital entrance. Halfway there, she ran into the young nurse, “Has the person you’re waiting for arrived?”
“They’ve arrived. I’m going to meet her.” Yan Xiaomi hurried outwards.
“Hey, wait a minute.” The nurse walked over and gave her the bread in her hand, “There’s not much to eat, so please make do.”
“Thank you.” Yan Xiaomi smiled her thanks, but didn’t take the bread, turning and walking away quickly. She started to run, though she knew it was unlikely she would see An Yao the moment she stepped out, she was still anxious.
At the entrance, she saw An Yao’s car pulling in. Yan Xiaomi rushed over, following the car. When the car stopped, she saw An Yao leaning back with her eyes closed, her brows slightly furrowed, her face pale, and sweat forming on her forehead.
“CEO An, what… what’s wrong?” Yan Xiaomi had never seen her so weak before. She leaned against the window, asking anxiously. An Yao couldn’t hear her and remained with her eyes closed. Yan Xiaomi signaled Li Wei Sa to open the window.
“Xiaomi-mi.” Li Wei Sa smiled and blew her a kiss. Yan Xiaomi was so startled she almost retreated three feet, smiling and nodding, feeling a little awkward.
“CEO An?” Yan Xiaomi called softly, afraid of disturbing An Yao.
Hearing Yan Xiaomi’s voice, An Yao slowly opened her eyes. Seeing Yan Xiaomi, she was a little hazy, “Has your high fever gone down?”
“I’m fine,” Yan Xiaomi touched her forehead, “I’m better.”
“What happened to your hand?” An Yao noticed her hand was slightly swollen and bandaged.
“Oh, this.” Yan Xiaomi looked at her hand and smiled, “It’s nothing. It’ll be fine in a couple of days. CEO An, what, what’s wrong with you?”
Looking at Yan Xiaomi leaning on the car door and eagerly looking at her, An Yao really wanted to reach out and rub her already slightly messy short hair.
“She keeps neglecting her health, so her ‘Aunt Flow’ came to torment her. She won’t die.” Li Wei Sa looked at An Yao, her tone filled with exasperation. She had told her long ago not to work so hard, to watch her diet, and to rest, but she wouldn’t listen.
If Li Wei Sa hadn’t gone to find her today, she would have planned to endure the pain and only go to the hospital after work was done, which angered Li Wei Sa so much that she immediately dragged her away. An Yao was so weak from the pain that she just followed her.
Hearing Li Wei Sa say that, An Yao ignored her and sat up.
Yan Xiaomi opened the car door for her and reached out to help her. An Yao was slightly taken aback, “No need.” She wasn’t that weak. She used a tissue to wipe the cold sweat from her forehead and got out of the car, entering the hospital with Yan Xiaomi.
This time, it was Yan Xiaomi’s turn to get medicine for An Yao. When she returned, An Yao was sitting alone on a bench, her brows tightly furrowed in pain. Yan Xiaomi found the nurse and got warm water for her to take the medicine.
“Where is Miss Li?”
Yan Xiaomi looked around and didn’t see Li Wei Sa, feeling puzzled.
An Yao swallowed the medicine, caught her breath, and said, “Don’t worry about her.”
They had just had a brief argument again, so Li Wei Sa had probably gone off to flirt with the nurses. She would come back by herself once she had cooled down.
After waiting in the car for a while, An Yao leaned back, pretending to nap. Yan Xiaomi looked at her slightly dry lips and asked, “CEO An, would you like some water?”
An Yao shook her head, not wanting to talk. It was obvious she was in a lot of discomfort.
Yan Xiaomi didn’t feel that much pain when she had her period, but seeing her roommates curled up and unwilling to move in pain, she knew the feeling must be terrible.
Yan Xiaomi suddenly recalled that she had seen An Yao looking pale and weak at times before, but she didn’t know why and didn’t dare to ask. Seeing her so pale with a headache, and sweating today, An Yao seemed weaker than ever. When she had brought her to the hospital for an IV in the morning, she was too dizzy with fever to pay attention. Now, thinking back, she felt a little guilty and slightly concerned.
Why wasn’t Li Wei Sa coming out yet? Yan Xiaomi glanced at the hospital entrance, a little anxious.
“Where are you going?” Li Wei Sa suddenly called out, stopping the person who was running towards the hospital. Yan Xiaomi stopped and turned around, “Miss Li, you’re finally back.”
“I just went to buy something. It took a while to find it.” Li Wei Sa opened the car door and handed the red date milk in her hand to An Yao, saying sullenly, not looking at An Yao, but with a proud air, “It’s the red date flavor you like, and it’s hot.”
An Yao looked at the red date milk in front of her. After a slight pause, she took it. Seeing her proud look, she was a little amused, “Not angry anymore?”
“I’d be mad to death if I stayed angry with you.”
Li Wei Sa closed the car door, both angry and amused, and patted Yan Xiaomi, who was still standing by the car door, “Xiaomi-mi, get in the car. Let’s find a place to eat lunch.”
“Miss Li, can you please stop calling me Xiaomi-mi?” Yan Xiaomi looked at Li Wei Sa, who was driving, and asked, her tone a little resentful. Xiaomi-mi sounded really awkward and unpleasant!
“I think it’s quite nice,” Li Wei Sa glanced at her chest, raised an eyebrow, and smiled, “It’s certainly small, Little Mimi.” (Note: Xiaomi-mi sounds like ‘little rice-rice,’ while the phrase for ‘little mimi’ or ‘small br3asts’ uses a similar sounding ‘mi’ character in Chinese.)
Yan Xiaomi finally understood. Li Wei Sa was indecent, even more indecent than Tong Xi. She flirted without blushing, and compared to CEO An… there was no comparison. At least CEO An’s words didn’t sound like something a hoodlum would say; they just made one blush a little.
Yan Xiaomi turned her head to look at An Yao in the back seat, unexpectedly finding her suddenly opening her eyes. She immediately nervously touched the backrest and said with a giggle, “This backrest is very comfortable.”
“Xiaomi-mi, if you want to look at An’an, just look. What’s there to be shy about?” Li Wei Sa gave her a profound, mischievous smile.
Yan Xiaomi instantly turned to stone. You know, so why did you have to say it!!!
