Boss, Please Go Easy On Me (GL) - Chapter 6
After three seconds of eye contact, both were a little embarrassed, and the quiet atmosphere became even more unbearable.
“CEO An…”
“Yan Xiaomi…”
Both paused, and then, without waiting for the other to speak, they both said in unison, “I’m sorry.”
After another brief moment of stunned silence, Yan Xiaomi suddenly laughed.
“I was the one who hit my head. Are you being silly?” Seeing her relax, An Yao was no longer nervous. She blinked, then propped herself up on her arms and crawled onto the bed, lying down, asking, “Is this your home?”
“Mhmm, my room.” Yan Xiaomi felt An Yao’s tone was very gentle, not cold like when she was sober. She also crawled onto the bed and lay down. An Yao looked at what she was wearing, then glanced at Yan Xiaomi, “You undressed me?”
“I, uh, I didn’t undress you on purpose, I…” Yan Xiaomi shot up into a sitting position, so nervous she wished she had eight mouths to explain the whole story in one second.
“It’s fine.” An Yao interrupted her. “I know what happened. I said sorry to you because I accidentally kissed you just now. What are you apologizing to me for?”
An Yao turned her head to look at her, her eyes showing no sign of embarrassment, so open that it made the incident seem like nothing.
Yan Xiaomi actually didn’t think it was a big deal either. Tong Xi often hugged and kissed her. When she was happy, she could cover her face with drool, but they had never kissed on the mouth. She was indeed startled when An Yao French-kissed her just now.
“I caused you to get hurt, so I’m sorry.” Yan Xiaomi avoided An Yao’s gaze, and her furiously beating heart finally slowed down.
An Yao pulled the thin quilt over herself, covered her forehead with one hand, closed her eyes, and asked, “Are you disgusted?”
“What?” Yan Xiaomi turned her head to look at her.
“Me kissing you.” An Yao also looked at her, “Do you feel disgusted?”
At such a close distance, An Yao’s breath fanned Yan Xiaomi’s face. Her eyes were bright and clear like glowing gems, reflecting Yan Xiaomi’s figure. For a moment, Yan Xiaomi felt her heart was bungee jumping, terribly nervous.
“N-no, I didn’t.” Yan Xiaomi smiled, waved her hand, turned her head back to look at the ceiling, “What’s so disgusting about a kiss? It’s just…”
“You were scared?”
Whether it was her imagination or not, Yan Xiaomi felt a hint of laughter in An Yao’s voice.
“Is it funny?” Yan Xiaomi asked.
“No, it’s not funny. I just find you quite cute. With anyone else, they would definitely be disgusted, but you aren’t.”
Yan Xiaomi didn’t understand what An Yao meant. She really wasn’t disgusted. The feeling, how should she put it? It was actually quite stimulating. Aside from the shock, there was even a tiny bit of pleasure.
After a moment of silence, Yan Xiaomi heard An Yao’s even breathing. Was she asleep? She glanced sideways. The alcohol must have come in waves; she was sober for a bit, then passed out again.
Yan Xiaomi turned off the light, adjusted the air conditioning to a suitable temperature, pulled the thin quilt over herself, and went to sleep too.
The next morning, Yan Xiaomi’s cute alarm didn’t go off. When she opened her eyes, she saw the sky was already bright. Her intuition told her she was definitely late again.
“I’m dead, I’m dead, I’m dead.”
Yan Xiaomi, with her messy bird’s nest hair, tumbled out of bed and ran to find clothes without even putting on shoes. After frantically getting dressed by the wardrobe, she suddenly turned her head and instantly froze. Three seconds later, her legs felt weak, and she nearly fell into the wardrobe. The person sitting on the bed was quietly watching her.
“CEO, CEO An.”
Yan Xiaomi felt like she was going to have a heart attack so early in the morning. Following the trail of her reflex arc, she recalled last night’s events, realizing she had brought An Yao home, and then… she was forcibly kissed.
Putting that aside for now, seeing that An Yao was already dressed in her skirt, she must have been awake for a long time. Had she just been sitting there watching her?
Yan Xiaomi’s reflex arc finally returned to normal, reminding her of one thing: she had been changing her skirt with her bare butt facing An Yao, and An Yao had seen it!
“What are you still standing there for! Aren’t you going to work?” An Yao flipped out of bed and put on her shoes, returning to her usual cold demeanor.
Yan Xiaomi twitched the corner of her mouth. Was this the same CEO An who was drunk last night? That one was gentle and hazy; this one was cold as ice.
In fact, they were both her. Yan Xiaomi accepted it. If she saw it, she saw it. She had seen An Yao naked last night anyway. She dejectedly followed An Yao, getting her a toothbrush and handing her a towel.
After An Yao finished washing up, she looked at her skirt and frowned slightly. She glanced at what Yan Xiaomi was wearing and thought, “Never mind.”
She probably wanted to change her skirt, but the thought of Yan Xiaomi’s small, fresh, and slightly cute style of sleepwear made her realize it clearly wasn’t An Yao’s preferred style.
“CEO An, wait a moment. I’ll be ready right away.”
Yan Xiaomi rushed through her morning routine like she was fighting a war. Looking at herself in the mirror, she was a little anxious. She didn’t know how she slept, but one tuft of hair kept sticking up like a cow’s horn. She patted it down a few times, but it still popped up. Fearing that An Yao would be unhappy if she waited too long, she wet her hand and smoothed it down. After seeing it stay flat, Yan Xiaomi left the house with An Yao.
Yan Xiaomi didn’t know how much An Yao remembered about last night, but she remembered everything. However, she didn’t dare bring it up. How embarrassing would that be to talk about? If An Yao knew she was blabbing, she would definitely be in for a rough time. Forget it, it wasn’t a big deal, and she hoped An Yao wouldn’t take it to heart either.
Midway, An Yao entered a shopping mall and chose a dress. While looking in the mirror, An Yao noticed a band-aid on her forehead. She had blacked out from drinking last night. When she woke up, she saw Yan Xiaomi sleeping next to her, and looking at the environment, she knew she was at Yan Xiaomi’s house. She vaguely remembered Yan Xiaomi dragging her onto the bed last night, and then she seemed to have kissed her. After that… she didn’t remember.
“How did I get this?” An Yao exited the fitting room, pointing to her forehead and asking Yan Xiaomi.
“Ah? This, this…” Yan Xiaomi stammered, unsure how to explain, and seeing the people around, she was even more hesitant to speak.
An Yao figured she had a difficult situation and didn’t press further.
Once in the office, An Yao sat in her chair and looked at her, quite coldly, “Speak. What happened last night?”
It seemed like she didn’t remember. Yan Xiaomi didn’t want to bring up that matter again, “Last night, CEO An accidentally hit the bedside table, so I put a band-aid on you.”
“Are you sure it wasn’t because I kissed you, and you retaliated by hitting me?”
An Yao was also wondering why she had been so foolish as to kiss her. Although Wei Sa had told her that she tends to kiss people when she’s drunk, she had only had one glass of wine yesterday. It shouldn’t have made her this confused.
“Well, you were wrong for kissing me first, CEO An. I accidentally pushed you, which is why you hit it. I didn’t do it on purpose.”
Yan Xiaomi’s tone wasn’t very pleasant either. So she did remember it. She was fine when she apologized last night. Why did she wake up and become like this? What exactly did this person want?
“Are you very wronged by being kissed by me?” Remembering she had said she wasn’t disgusted last night, An Yao suddenly wanted to tease her.
“Yes, wronged, very wronged.” Yan Xiaomi couldn’t hold back, her eyes welling up as she looked at An Yao. It wasn’t a big deal, but An Yao’s question made it seem like she had committed a huge mistake. How could she not feel wronged? She felt extremely wronged!
“Oh…” An Yao nodded, stood up, walked over to her, and said in a slightly softer tone, “Kiss me back then.”
“W-what?” Yan Xiaomi took a step back and looked at her, her eyes red, a little confused, looking somewhat pitiful.
“I said…” An Yao stepped closer to her, her serious gaze somewhat softened, “Kiss me back. Don’t you feel wronged? I apologized last night, and now I’m giving you a chance to restore some balance.”
Yan Xiaomi quickly stepped back, almost losing her footing. She shook her head and waved her hands, “No, no need.” She suddenly laughed again, but her smile was a little panicked, “CEO An, you’re overthinking it. My causing you to get hurt has already evened things out. I can’t take advantage of you anymore. If, if there’s nothing else, I, I’ll go out now.”
“Wait a minute!” An Yao suddenly grabbed her. Seeing Yan Xiaomi look terribly nervous, she pointed to her hair and said, “Your hair… is sticking up so funny.” An Yao couldn’t hold back and laughed.
Yan Xiaomi hastily buried her head, patted her hair a few times, and fled in panic. In that instant, she felt like her heart was about to jump out of her throat. Why did this CEO An always act so unpredictably!
Watching Yan Xiaomi’s hurried, vanishing back, An Yao felt a good mood. Thinking back to last night, she sighed softly again. An Yao, why have you become so irrational? It shouldn’t be because of just a little wine. Alas, this is loneliness!
Pulling her thoughts back, An Yao began to handle the day’s tasks. The sooner she finished, the sooner she could go to Professor Yan’s house. Thinking of Professor Yan, An Yao was a little distracted. It seemed like it had been a while since she had seen her.
“Knock, knock, knock.” An Yao was startled by the sudden knock on the door. “Come in.”
“An’an, your little assistant is really cute.” Li Wei Sa pushed the door open, walked to An Yao’s desk, and handed her her bag and phone. “Just now, when I said I was looking for you, she wouldn’t let me in. She only let me go after I showed her your things. The little girl is really interesting.” Thinking of Yan Xiaomi’s fall last night, Li Wei Sa’s smile grew wider, completely unable to contain herself.
“You left me with someone else last night, and you have the nerve to show up today.” An Yao looked at the documents in her hand without looking up.
“I was busy yesterday, wasn’t I? I’m sorry.” Li Wei Sa held her hand and playfully pleaded.
“Thank you for bringing my things back. If you have nothing else, go back. I’m busy.”
“Alright, alright, I won’t bother you busy person anymore. I’m going to find your little assistant.” After taking a few steps, she turned back and asked, “What’s your assistant’s phone number?”
“Why do you ask that? Her phone is broken.”
“Are you joking with me? I’ll go ask myself.”
An Yao shook her head and continued looking at the documents.
“Little sister, what are you doing?” Li Wei Sa rested her hands on the desk and looked at Yan Xiaomi, scaring her into leaning back, “Working.”
“Oh…” Li Wei Sa smiled and asked, “Can you give me your phone number?”
“You want my phone number?” Yan Xiaomi was a little surprised, then became alert, “Why?”
“To hang out with you, of course.” Li Wei Sa took the document from her hand and flipped through it. “Hey, hey, don’t move around.” Yan Xiaomi frantically tried to snatch it back. Li Wei Sa took a step back and handed her the phone, “I’ll give it back to you once you save your number.”
Yan Xiaomi didn’t bother arguing with her. Anyway, her phone was broken, so saving a number was fine.
She took the phone, saved the number, and handed it back to her, “Done. Give it to me.”
Li Wei Sa returned the document to Yan Xiaomi, dialed her number, and got a message that the phone was off. “Is your phone really broken?”
“Mhmm, it’s broken.”
Yan Xiaomi lowered her head and stopped looking at her. Li Wei Sa gently patted Yan Xiaomi’s face, leaned in, and smiled, asking, “Would you like Big Sister to buy you a phone?”
“Thank you for your kind offer, Big Sister, but no.”
Click. The office door opened. An Yao stood in the doorway, looked at Li Wei Sa, and then at Yan Xiaomi, her voice quite cold, “Yan Xiaomi, come in.”
“What are your instructions, CEO An?” Yan Xiaomi immediately scurried into the room.
An Yao glanced at Li Wei Sa again without speaking. Li Wei Sa smiled, blew her a kiss, and was shut out of the office.
Yan Xiaomi stayed in the office for three minutes. An Yao was busy with her own work, didn’t instruct her to do anything, and didn’t look at her. She couldn’t stand the silence anymore, “CEO An, is there anything you need me to do?”
“Nothing. You can leave.” An Yao didn’t look at her, continuing to look down at her documents.
“Oh…” Yan Xiaomi was a little confused, unsure what An Yao meant. She walked a couple of steps, then turned around and asked, “CEO An, is there really nothing?”
An Yao looked up at her and, after a while, said, “Sit on the sofa for ten minutes. Watch the time, and when it’s up, go out. Don’t talk now.”
“Oh…” Yan Xiaomi obediently walked to the sofa and sat down properly, not daring to move or speak. She could only look around with her eyes, feeling quite bored.
The entire office was predominantly white, clean, and grand. There was nothing much to see. The only beautiful thing, if any, was An Yao in her light blue dress.
An Yao was universally recognized as a beauty. Yan Xiaomi had seen her overbearingly cold beauty, her hazy, seductive beauty, and her serious, stern beauty when working. Just like now, she was slightly bowed, writing something. Her long, fair fingers, holding the fountain pen, showed clear knuckles, looking very graceful. Her long, wavy hair was pushed to one side and casually draped over her chest, not evoking sexiness or seduction, but rather grandeur and cool elegance. If a golden, sparkling crown were placed on her head, she would feel like a goddess in the clouds, sacred and aloof, inspiring both adoration and awe.
Yan Xiaomi unconsciously started paying attention to An Yao. When working, An Yao radiated a cold aura, quiet and serious, which fit perfectly with the white office. Staring at An Yao for a while, Yan Xiaomi forgot the time. She didn’t know how many minutes had passed until An Yao suddenly looked up at her. She instantly snapped her gaze away, hurriedly stood up, and was about to say something, but An Yao had just instructed her not to speak. She could only bow and rush out the door in a panic.
An Yao watched her cautious, slightly frantic departure, her hair tuft bobbing, and couldn’t help but curve the corner of her mouth into a smile.
