Boss, Please Go Easy On Me (GL) - Chapter 9
Professor Yan smiled, glanced at the person still busy in the kitchen, then turned, pulled him out. The man was still wearing an apron and smiled helplessly as Professor Yan pulled him, his gaze full of affection for her. Yan Xiaomi, as a perpetually single person, was instantly charmed. Handsome, good at cooking, a gentle smile, and seemingly a very good temper—she really wanted a good man like that.
Yan Xiaomi controlled her impulse to let hearts fly and stood in place, smiling foolishly.
“He’s my boyfriend. You can just call him Professor Cheng,” Professor Yan introduced him with a smile, her face brimming with happiness evident from her eyes and brows. She pointed her finger at An Yao and introduced her. “This is my favorite student, An Yao.”
Favorite student? The favorite?
An Yao was slightly stunned when she heard Professor Yan say this. She looked at the man, politely stood up, nodded, and called out, “Hello, Professor Cheng.”
“Hello.”
Professor Cheng’s smile was truly handsome. Yan Xiaomi kept staring at him from the side, feeling like she hadn’t seen a handsome man in a long time, and her heart was beginning to flutter.
“Yang Sheng has already been introduced. This is my niece, Yan Xiaomi,” Professor Yan pulled Yan Xiaomi over and said with a smile. “Speaking of which, you two went to the same school.”
“The same school as us?” Yan Xiaomi was stunned, looking at Professor Cheng with a bit of disbelief. “Professor Cheng, you were at our school?”
Professor Cheng smiled, looking at Professor Yan with a gentle gaze. “Hui Xin (Professor Yan) seems to have mentioned you. But you were in the School of Economics, and I was in the School of Arts and Law. Perhaps you didn’t take my general education course, so you don’t have much of an impression.”
“If I had known our school had such a handsome teacher, I definitely would have chosen that public elective!”
Yan Xiaomi mumbled, full of regret, feeling like she was regretting a past mistake.
Hearing her words, everyone laughed, and the atmosphere at the dinner table began to warm up.
After dinner, Yang Sheng originally wanted to go to Minglan River to see the night view with An Yao, but An Yao politely refused. She said she had a car and could drive herself back. Yan Xiaomi, of course, intended to leave with her.
The sedan drove slowly down the street. Yan Xiaomi noticed that An Yao seemed a bit absent-minded. Since returning from her aunt’s house, An Yao seemed somewhat cold, though Yan Xiaomi didn’t know why.
“Is your phone still usable?” An Yao suddenly turned her head to glance at her. Yan Xiaomi, who was zoning out, instantly snapped back to attention. “Reporting, President An, the phone has bravely sacrificed itself and is no longer usable.”
An Yao was amused by her serious and nonsensical reply, and her mood temporarily improved. She didn’t want to go back yet. No one was waiting for her at home. Going back would only leave her with loneliness and a bad mood.
“Let’s go buy a phone now.” An Yao made a U-turn at the intersection.
“Ah? Now? I didn’t bring any money.”
Yan Xiaomi was both surprised and embarrassed. Although the salary was considerable, she really hadn’t saved much money in these three months. Only after earning her own money and living independently did she realize that everything—food, fuel, basic necessities—cost money. Plus, sometimes when she bought clothes or other things, the money vanished as if on a carousel, disappearing without a trace.
And this morning, An Yao had bought a dress, which completely emptied her wallet. Where would she get spare money to buy a phone now? She really wanted to ask, President An, could you please pay me back first? But she didn’t dare.
An Yao ignored her and drove straight to a digital mall. She didn’t care what Yan Xiaomi liked or disliked. She walked in, looked at the vendors, and finally chose the Samsung store to browse.
Yan Xiaomi followed behind her, feeling uncertain. Samsung phones were quite expensive. She used to use Lenovo, which was slow as death, but it was durable and lasted through that many falls before breaking.
An Yao spotted a white phone, asked the clerk to take it out for a look. The size was suitable, the feel was good, and the screen clarity looked excellent. She didn’t examine it closely and handed the phone to Yan Xiaomi. “See if you like it.”
“President An, I truly don’t have money today…” Yan Xiaomi was a bit troubled, not wanting to take it, lest she look at it and then not buy it, which would be embarrassing.
“I asked you to hold it and look, I didn’t say you had to buy it.” An Yao offered the phone again. Yan Xiaomi saw her cold expression and thought her mood might be poor today. To avoid stepping on a landmine, she obediently took the phone and examined it.
The sales assistant introduced it next to her. “This model is one of our best sellers. The front camera is 5 million pixels, and the rear camera is 16 million pixels. It’s excellent for people who like to take photos…”
The assistant talked a lot while Yan Xiaomi looked at the phone. Yan Xiaomi wasn’t paying much attention to the details, but she personally felt the phone was quite good. However, what did it matter how good it was? She certainly wasn’t going to buy such an expensive phone.
“Mhm, it’s pretty good,” Yan Xiaomi handed the phone back to the sales assistant.
The assistant, seeing she probably didn’t intend to buy it, smiled and looked at An Yao. It was obvious Yan Xiaomi was brought by An Yao to buy a phone. The assistant didn’t expect Yan Xiaomi to pay, only that she liked it.
“Can I pay by card here?” An Yao asked.
Yan Xiaomi was a little confused and pulled An Yao’s arm. “President An, I didn’t bring my card.”
The assistant looked at Yan Xiaomi and smiled without speaking, gathering all the phone accessories and placing them aside. Then, handing the phone to Yan Xiaomi, she looked at An Yao and pointed to the side. “Please swipe your card over here.”
An Yao went to swipe her card, and Yan Xiaomi became even more confused. Was An Yao going to buy her a phone? But why would she? She quickly stepped forward and pulled An Yao back. “President An, please listen to me. It’s not that I don’t want to buy it, but it’s too expensive and unnecessary. Tomorrow, I’ll go buy a cheaper one myself, you don’t have to worry…”
“Will you be able to wake up tomorrow morning without an alarm clock?” An Yao looked at her. “Have you forgotten what you promised me?”
“No, no, no more being late for work.” Yan Xiaomi said weakly. In front of An Yao, her assertiveness just wouldn’t surface. She was instinctively on the defensive.
An Yao didn’t say anything more and swiped the card. Yan Xiaomi stopped struggling. An Yao was right; she really couldn’t get up without an alarm. Anyway, this money had to be spent sooner or later. Thinking of the several thousand yuan spent in one day, Yan Xiaomi’s heart twitched. It hurt so much!
“President An, I’ll give you the money tomorrow,” Yan Xiaomi followed behind An Yao, holding the phone, feeling depressed. Her voice was muffled, and she was instantly unhappy. This was hard-earned money!
“Did I say I wanted you to pay me back?” An Yao turned around and looked at her. “Consider it payment for the money you spent on my dress this morning.”
Yan Xiaomi was stunned, then quickly said, “That’s not right, President An. Your dress was only a few hundred, but this phone is several thousand! I can’t take advantage of you.”
“You’re not taking advantage of me. I took advantage of you yesterday, so we are even now.”
“Ah?” Yan Xiaomi pulled An Yao anxiously. “No, President An, what is this supposed to mean? Because you kissed me, you’re buying me a phone? No, what do you take me for?”
“I don’t mean what you think.” An Yao looked at her calmly. “Didn’t I say this morning? If you felt wronged, you could kiss me back. Since you didn’t agree, I don’t want you to have a knot in your heart. Plus, I apologize for causing you distress this afternoon.”
Yan Xiaomi looked at An Yao, bit her lip, and then looked around. There were only the two of them in the parking lot now. The light wasn’t very bright, so no one would see them. She didn’t know what had come over her, but she took a step forward, slightly stood on her toes, tilted her head up, and kissed An Yao’s lips.
Kiss back, then kiss back! What’s the big deal!
Yan Xiaomi had never kissed before; last night was her first kiss. She was completely ignorant about kissing. After kissing An Yao’s lips, she didn’t move for a long time, not knowing what to do next. Should she hold her lips? Or stick out her tongue and lick? Yan Xiaomi was at a loss.
An Yao was a little dazed by the sudden kiss and froze momentarily, waiting to see how Yan Xiaomi intended to conclude.
Yan Xiaomi’s heart was pounding like a drum. She was extremely embarrassed, feeling a flush from her face down to her neck, making her heart race. She had done this on impulse—how was she supposed to end it? Should she just turn around and run? Or let go and laugh it off as a joke? In a moment like this, she should act naturally. Yes, more naturally, otherwise it would be too awkward.
Naturally, naturally?
Yan Xiaomi symbolically stuck out her tongue and licked An Yao’s lips. This provocative action successfully aroused An Yao. She must not dislike Yan Xiaomi; on the contrary, she found Yan Xiaomi’s silliness somewhat cute. As for Yan Xiaomi’s kiss, An Yao wouldn’t call it enjoyment, nor did she feel anything particularly special, but a person who has been celibate for too long is easily aroused, especially since she needed company now.
Just as Yan Xiaomi was trying to make a graceful exit, An Yao suddenly put her arms around her waist and softly asked, “Don’t you know how to kiss?”
Yan Xiaomi instinctively tried to lean back to look at the hand around her waist. Hearing An Yao’s gentle voice, she didn’t quite process it, unsure what An Yao meant. The next second, she heard An Yao say, “I’ll teach you.”
