Bro, Don't Study Anymore - Chapter 29
7/27
For three weeks in a row, Xiao Tang’s roommate couldn’t get a spot in the lab class. This morning, he finally managed to secure one but then realized he had other commitments and couldn’t make it, so he had to find a substitute.
As soon as the roommate complained to Xiao Tang, he remembered that Laodeng, a junior, had no classes and eagerly offered to help.
[Bro, are you free tomorrow night?]
[Yeah, what’s up?]
[Can you cover a lab class for me?]
[Sure.]
The next evening, Senior Song waited for Xiao Tang downstairs at the dorm to collect the roommate’s pre-lab report.
“I don’t feel like walking,” Xiao Tang said lazily, dragging out his words.
Senior Song obligingly scanned for a shared electric scooter.
Beep—XX scooter, only for one rider.
Xiao Tang ignored the warning, hopped on the back, wrapped his arms around Senior Song’s waist, and rested his head on his back.
“What’s up? Tired today?”
Xiao Tang tightened his grip on the clothes, “Full day of classes, super tired, senior. Lab, copying notes…”
Senior Song smiled softly, his voice gentle, “Which lab? I think I’ve done it before.”
“The principles and use of the spectrometer.”
“…” Senior Song paused, then joked, “You’re really in for it with that one.”
“Is it hard?”
“Yeah.”
Hearing the confirmation, Xiao Tang lightly bumped his head against Senior Song’s back.
“You could’ve just let me be a workhorse instead of a student.”

Physics lab classes are done in pairs, with students grouped according to their student ID numbers.
Xiao Tang and his roommate’s IDs were next to each other, so they were paired up.
The first half of the lab class is the teacher explaining the principles and steps of the experiment, while the second half is hands-on practice. After the experiment, students submit their data to the teacher for review and complete their report within a week to finish the experiment.
Their spot was conveniently in a corner. Xiao Tang lay there playing on his phone, having written a detailed pre-lab report, so he listened selectively.
Having done this experiment before, Senior Song didn’t bother listening and just played with Xiao Tang’s hand.
“Alright, everyone understands the steps, so you can start now,” the teacher said.
As soon as the teacher finished speaking, Xiao Tang sprang into action, turning on all the equipment.
He placed the data recording sheet in front of him, clasped his hands together, and half-jokingly pleaded, “Please help, senior.”
“Five minutes?” Senior Song suggested.
Xiao Tang was shocked, “Taking advantage of me?”
Senior Song expertly handled the equipment, “A reasonable request.”
“…Fine.” Xiao Tang reluctantly agreed but added, “No biting my ear.”
With the deal struck, Senior Song moved swiftly. Having done the experiment before, he was much more efficient than the other groups and finished first.
Their adjacent group, noticing they were done, came over to ask for their data.
Xiao Tang shared a few initial numbers, but the differences were too significant, so the other group didn’t dare copy and asked the group ahead instead. The data from three groups were all different.
Xiao Tang spread out the data sheet, “…Should we redo it?”
Senior Song, after tidying up the equipment and lab station, picked up the paper, “No, let’s submit it.”
Xiao Tang asked, “You got an explanation for this?”
Senior Song countered, “I’ve got the skills.”
Xiao Tang gave him a thumbs-up, “You’re a pro, senior.”
“…”
