Bro, Don't Study Anymore - Chapter 30
7/28
While the whole country focused on high school seniors taking the college entrance exam, no one seemed to care about university students in their final exams month.
Xiao Tang had just finished one exam and had another coming up in a week, but he couldn’t bring himself to study at all.
Coincidentally, his department had planned a team-building event, and he had no hesitation in abandoning his study plans to join the fun.
Dinner was a barbecue, and after they ate, they moved upstairs. Some played Werewolf, some played Mahjong. Xiao Tang wasn’t interested in either, so he joined the karaoke group in a different room.
“If love is forgotten…” The person on stage was singing terribly, while those below were gathered, drinking and playing games—the classic Truth or Dare.
Without a bottle, they used a microphone as the pointer.
The first spin landed on Xiao Tang, and he spread his hands, sighing, “Did I use up all my luck drawing cards today?”
“Haha, senior, don’t worry, we’ll ask you some very gossipy questions!”
“…Thanks, but no need.”
College students who love gossip began chattering away with various questions.
“Which question are we going with?”
The girl organizing the game cleared her throat, and everyone quieted down, “I’ll ask one, then Xiao Tang will ask the next. Everyone okay with that?”
“No problem.”
“Sure.”
“Ask quickly, especially about the relationship between Xiao Tang and Senior Song,” someone teased.
The girl smiled, her curiosity evident, “When did Xiao Tang and Senior Song start dating?”
When their department held events, Senior Song was always dragged in to help, and over time, he became familiar to the freshmen, leading to speculation about their relationship. But as seniors, no one dared ask directly until now.
“Yooo~”
Xiao Tang replied, “High school.”
“Wow…”
“Who chased whom?”
Xiao Tang grabbed the microphone, ready to spin, “That’s another question. Let me spin for the next unlucky person first.”
The spin landed on a junior, and Xiao Tang didn’t make it difficult for him, asking a mild question. After that, the microphone never pointed at him again, so he quietly slacked off, listening to others’ gossip.
The most dramatic moment was when a junior, under the pressure of a dare, confessed to his crush and got rejected. He downed two drinks and went to sing emo songs.
By the end of the game, everyone had drunk a bit. When it was time to leave, the sober guys from the Werewolf game helped the truly drunk ones back, while the girls left together.
Xiao Tang made sure everyone had gone before sitting on the flower bed outside the shop.
He hadn’t drunk much and was still clear-headed. After feeling the breeze for a while, he got a bit sleepy. As he leaned his head dizzily, someone came up beside him.
“Where’s this drunkard going? Want to come home with me?”
Xiao Tang looked up at him, grabbing Senior Song’s hands with both of his, and gave a silly smile, “Hey, senior.”
Senior Song, with one hand free, rubbed Xiao Tang’s head, squatting down to look at him.
“Are you really drunk?”
“Yeah.”
Senior Song held up his hand, spreading his fingers, and asked, “How many fingers?”
Xiao Tang pressed his face against his hand, feeling the coolness against his flushed face, and rubbed it twice.
“It’s five, absolutely.”
Senior Song interlocked their fingers and pulled him up, “Alright, let’s go home.”
“No,” Xiao Tang obediently followed him, “we’re going back to school.”
“…You’re really precise.”
“Of course!”
