Bro, Don't Study Anymore - Chapter 5
7/03
In the second half of the military training, they practiced in phalanxes.
“Being assigned to the hand gesture phalanx is a blessing. It’s all about sitting. Last year, our instructor was super nice, and we just sat around,” said Senior Song’s classmate A.
Freshmen finish their training earlier than sophomores finish classes. Today, Little Tang and his roommate secured their spots early, and Senior Song came over with a classmate.
Classmate A shook his leg and shared his experiences with them: “We affectionately called it the ‘sitting company.’”
“But most of the time, they choose girls for the sitting company. For the boys, we only had about one and a half companies,” he said, looking at Senior Song for confirmation.
“Yeah, our company was split. Half went to the sitting company, and the other half to the dagger drill phalanx. We just sat and watched them practice,” Senior Song added.
The roommate was curious: “Is the dagger drill really cool?”
Classmate A chuckled: “It looks cool, junior, but it’s super exhausting.”
“Please give us the sitting company,” the roommate prayed silently.
“The sitting company isn’t assigned until later,” Classmate A noted. “Let’s hope the army gives us some food.”
Little Tang said, “No food will be left.”
Senior Song replied, “Be honest and beg for mercy.”
In the afternoon, when they were dividing into phalanxes, Little Tang’s class was practicing marching, just in front of the podium.
When the phalanxes were being divided, their entire company was luckily assigned to the sitting company, along with a bunch of girls.
“Wow, so lucky,” said the guy next to Little Tang, draping an arm over his shoulder and chewing on a blade of grass.
“Indeed, we get to sit down. Awesome!”
The instructor in charge of the hand gesture phalanx wore black-rimmed glasses and looked gentle, speaking slowly and calmly.
Little Tang sat on the ground, picking up small stones to form words, bored as he listened to the conversations around him: “This instructor looks like a desk job kind of guy.”
Their formation was disrupted, with neighboring students mingling. They started chatting in groups.
Classmate A said, “Much better than the dagger drill instructor. That guy is super strict.”
Classmate B added, “Yeah, they only got a break this morning.”
The conversation shifted from instructors to games.
Little Tang’s military training life drastically changed——sitting and raising hands, standing and raising hands, resting and eating.
Whenever he had time, he’d glance at the other phalanxes’ training.
One word summed up the whole training: “Awesome.”
Senior Song commented——suggesting they increase the intensity.
Little Tang told him to focus on his experiments and remember to save the data for the benefit of future students.
[Dream on, unless you give me a reward.]
Little Tang replied: [I’ll ask another senior.]
Half a day later, Senior Song replied——
[Little Tang, are you itching for a beating?]
[I don’t understand, senior. Sorry, my ears are blocked. 【doghead.jpg】]
