Can Alpha Also Be A Wife? - Chapter 21
Chapter 21: Eating Dog Food
As dawn broke, Lin Fansheng slowly opened his eyes.
To his surprise, Lu Shihuai hadn’t left the bed before him.
It seemed like yesterday’s events had a deep impact on him.
Lin Fansheng thought that as he gently pushed Lu Shihuai’s arm aside and pulled away from his embrace.
Lu Shihuai, still asleep, didn’t resist and allowed Lin Fansheng to move freely.
Everything went smoother than expected.
Lin Fansheng was about to get up and check on Benson when suddenly he was pulled back strongly, falling into the arms of the person behind him.
The firm grip around his waist and the warm breath on his neck made Lin Fansheng feel awkward and uneasy.
He turned his head to avoid the warmth near his ear and asked, “You’re not asleep?”
“I wake up when you do,” Lu Shihuai replied softly, still holding him tightly.
His voice was hoarse from the morning, carrying a faint but suggestive tone.
No wonder he was so compliant.
Lin Fansheng blinked, quietly mulling over this.
After that brief exchange, Lin Fansheng felt less awkward and relaxed, letting Lu Shihuai hug him without resistance.
If he just wanted to hold him, nothing else would happen between them.
He recalled some information he’d read online: although there could be love between Alphas, their pheromones clash, and no matter how close or strong their bond, their chemistry always limits intimacy, ensuring things end happily.
Especially since Alphas, like Lu Shihuai, who lived constantly in battle, needed the comfort of an Omega to maintain mental stability. Without it, their minds would deteriorate over time.
Understanding this, Lin Fansheng realized how much Lu Shihuai had sacrificed and how deeply he cared.
He respected Lu Shihuai’s feelings but felt the risk to his life wasn’t worth it.
Still, he knew he wasn’t in a position to object.
Lin Fansheng was clear that Lu Shihuai’s affection was for him, not Lin Ling, so he remained quiet.
Even when Lu Shihuai crossed boundaries physically, Lin Fansheng felt no aversion. He never quite understood how they had gotten along so well, but he never questioned it and just went with the flow.
For Lu Shihuai’s sake, once he regained his memories, Lin Fansheng planned to have a serious talk with him as Lin Ling.
When Lu Shihuai was away, Lin Fansheng intended to write all these thoughts down in a digital note to remind himself later.
He always had the feeling that he wouldn’t lose his memory for long, but he wasn’t sure if he’d remember these moments afterward. So he wanted to preserve everything in writing.
Watching Lin Fansheng lost in thought, Lu Shihuai’s eyes darkened slightly.
His fingers moved slowly, tracing the places Lin Fansheng had touched last night…
Stopping at his sensitive waist, Lu Shihuai pressed firmly.
The person in his arms suddenly gasped and froze.
“You!” Lin Fansheng was so startled he almost jumped.
But he was too weak to resist and could only glare fiercely.
Those wet eyes, however, were harmless, and Lu Shihuai immediately pulled back to create some distance.
He pulled the thin quilt over himself and said seriously, “You asked me to do this last night.”
Lin Fansheng glared at him, “But didn’t you refuse?”
“Just because I didn’t say no doesn’t mean I refused.”
“….”
Lin Fansheng was speechless.
He glared again, then got out of bed and petted Benson to make sure the dog would sleep for at least two more hours.
He didn’t want to hit Lu Shihuai, but since Benson was lying there like a punching bag, he might as well take advantage.
After putting on the clothes he brought yesterday, Lin Fansheng ignored Lu Shihuai’s burning gaze, opened his jacket, switched on the contact device, and pulled up a picture Fu Mingxi sent him overnight from some restricted website.
He began to pinch the exact spots on his body shown in the photo.
Yesterday, he said it was just to tease Lu Shihuai.
If Lu Shihuai hadn’t done it himself, Lin Fansheng would have had to do it solo.
But now it seemed Lu Shihuai had done part of the work, so Lin Fansheng needed to finish it.
Alphas really can’t be trusted!
His skin quickly flushed red in patches.
Lu Shihuai stayed still, but the fiery look in his eyes was clear to Lin Fansheng.
He wondered why Lu Shihuai hadn’t moved yet.
Was he pretending to be shy again?
If you took away that look that wanted to devour him, Lin Fansheng would think Lu Shihuai was pure and innocent.
“It’s not time yet,” Lu Shihuai muttered, avoiding eye contact, clearly embarrassed.
Trying to calm himself and forget the mental images, Lu Shihuai stayed silent.
Seeing Lu Shihuai no longer watching him, Lin Fansheng focused on pinching the marks more deliberately.
He sighed quietly; the look Lu Shihuai gave earlier had made him unexpectedly nervous.
But as he pinched, Lin Fansheng realized something was wrong.
“I’m Alpha, right?”
He paused and looked down at the marks.
Should an Alpha’s body be this sensitive?
His skin reddened easily and he gasped when touched lightly. Wasn’t that unusual?
He approached Lu Shihuai and pointed to the marks, asking, “Did I do this before?”
Recalling clearly, Lu Shihuai frowned, “I touched your body. Your waist is sensitive and every time I did, you tried to push me away.”
He frowned again, “I even pinched you before. Your body was just a little stiff, nothing like being… you know… overwhelmed.”
Yes, he had touched Lin Ling’s waist many times, or hugged her there.
But Lin Ling never had any special reaction.
Compared to other places, Lin Ling just felt uncomfortable when touched on the waist, nothing like what Lin Fansheng was experiencing.
Lin Fansheng was too focused on his body to fully process Lu Shihuai’s words.
How could an Alpha’s waist be so sensitive to touch?
But unfortunately, his attention wasn’t on their past anymore.
“So, my body is experiencing amnesia.”
He pinched another mark on his waist as shown in the photo.
“…”
He was so weak he nearly collapsed.
Lu Shihuai helped steady him, nodding in agreement, “Something’s definitely wrong.”
Lin Fansheng looked up at him, “This can’t go on. We need a solution.”
If someone noticed his weakness and acted on it, things could get dangerous.
“Lanlos!” Lu Shihuai suddenly said, a name flashing in his mind.
“That’s definitely what he did to you!”
Lin Ling was fine when she left; this was different.
No one else but that madman Lanlos could be responsible.
Lu Shihuai clenched his fists. Last time, his actions were mild, but now it was clear Lanlos had crossed a line.
Lin Fansheng was equally upset. He had a strong Alpha body and now felt like an Omega.
This body was more fragile than an Omega’s.
“It might not be him, but you should ask him,” Lin Fansheng secretly wrote in a note for the man.
“Okay,” Lu Shihuai agreed.
No matter what, Lu Shihuai didn’t want to let Lanlos go.
Lanlos might be safe on Hillier now, but he still had use.
“Since I’m artificial, I should recover eventually,” Lin Fansheng comforted himself.
When the marks were almost finished, Lin Fansheng turned off the device.
He glanced at Lu Shihuai and motioned for him to get up and put on the quilt properly.
Lu Shihuai hesitated, “Wait.”
Lin Fansheng raised an eyebrow, silently asking why.
But if Lu Shihuai wanted to wait, he’d respect that.
Lin Fansheng picked up Benson and threw him back on the bed, then stripped off his clothes and tossed them aside carelessly.
The more he looked at Benson, the less he liked him.
Lin Fansheng grabbed a clothes hanger, wrapped it with clothes, and hit Benson a few times hard.
Though it only left faint red marks, it was painful enough.
“Do you still want to sleep with me?” Lin Fansheng sneered. “I’ll ruin you next time!”
Lu Shihuai watched helplessly but didn’t comment.
He lifted the quilt and tied it neatly around himself with skill.
His knot-tying was so good that anyone watching would say he was a pro.
Silently, Lu Shihuai wiped sweat from his brow.
Thankfully, the ‘sleep’ he wanted with Lin Ling wasn’t that kind.
When Benson finally got up, his whole body ached like he’d been run over.
Not only that, he found himself naked on the bed without even a blanket and felt furious.
But when he turned, he saw Lin Fansheng sleeping tightly clutching the quilt, his face flushed and delicate as if he’d been bullied.
For a moment, Benson recalled the wonderful feelings from last night.
Maybe the lights were too dim, and his memory of what happened was fuzzy, but the comfort lingering in his body and mind left him feeling satisfied.
Feeling happy, he didn’t mind being uncovered.
Still, why did his body hurt so much?
Benson shook off the pain and looked for his clothes.
Every movement made his joints ache painfully.
No wounds were visible; the pain was inexplicable.
After dressing, Benson went out and told the guards to let Lin Fansheng and Lu Shihuai have some privacy.
Then he headed to the infirmary for a checkup.
After several tests, all his data was normal.
The doctor even seemed frustrated, as repeated exams showed no problem.
By lunch, Benson was still waiting for some abnormal result.
Finally, the doctor kindly suggested, “Excessive exertion can cause physical issues, but it’s not detectable.”
Embarrassed, Benson left.
In his mind, he thought, “We did do it a lot last night.”
“That thing’s pretty incredible,” Lin Fansheng said to Lu Shihuai.
“Yeah, people who use it can customize it to fit the moment,” Lu Shihuai replied, eyeing Lin Fansheng’s handsome face and thinking he might be too good-looking to be practical.
When he gave Lin Fansheng Yi Rong’s appearance, he hadn’t thought much, just enjoyed dressing him up.
After Benson’s incident, he decided not to dress Lin Fansheng too nicely in the future — too much attention could be dangerous.
Even though the chance of someone stealing him away was almost zero, what if the impossible happened?
Lu Shihuai didn’t want to lose the person he cared about.
But if Lin Fansheng dressed too plainly, it might be unbearable.
Someone like Lin Fansheng deserved all the attention and shouldn’t be hidden away by his own stubbornness.
He was so conflicted that he kept stealing glances at Lin Fansheng.
Lin Fansheng, meanwhile, was cooking and touched his face, asking, “What? Is something on my face?”
“Yes,” Lu Shihuai nodded.
He leaned over, quickly kissed Lin Fansheng’s cheek, leaving a faint mark, then went back to cooking.
Lin Fansheng was stunned.
After realizing what happened, his face flushed deep red.
Lu Shihuai actually kissed him!
Even though it was just a cheek kiss, it was their first ever!
They had held hands and hugged, but never kissed.
Lin Fansheng was so flustered he almost dropped his chopsticks.
Yu Heng, sitting opposite, didn’t understand what the two were whispering about.
Usually, when the two were in the dorm, Yu Heng would leave to give them privacy.
But worried about Lin Fansheng after learning about Benson’s incident, he had come back to check on him.
He knew Lu Shihuai had taken the day off and stayed in the dorm.
For the first time, Yu Heng felt uneasy interfering in their daily life, but his concern outweighed everything.
He even worried they might be separated because of Benson and was ready to intervene.
Unexpectedly, the couple was clingier than ever and didn’t need his advice at all.
They were even kissing while eating!
Yu Heng almost buried his face in his rice, overwhelmed.
He thought to himself:
As long as Lin Fansheng and Lu Shihuai are together, there’s no place for him in the dorm!
Look, here comes the dog food again — time to dig in!
