Can Alpha Also Be A Wife? - Chapter 30
Chapter 30: Stamp Me as Yours…
Inside the starship bearing the Alliance emblem, the two of them were locked in a lingering kiss.
After holding the same position for too long, it got a bit uncomfortable. Lin Ling gave a gentle push, taking the initiative to end the kiss.
He steadied his breathing as Lu Shihuai helped smooth out the wrinkles on his clothes.
Neither of them spoke, but an atmosphere settled between them—one that no outsider could intrude upon.
After a short silence, Lin Ling took the initiative to speak.
“I shattered part of El’s spiritual power. It’ll take him at least two years to recover.”
Lu Shihuai froze for a second before realizing that Lin Ling was retaliating on his behalf—for that time El had publicly insulted him.
His mood lifted immediately.
He didn’t really care what would happen to El—what mattered was that Lin Ling had taken action for him.
He didn’t reply right away, so Lin Ling frowned slightly.
“Too light a punishment?”
“I remember the stationed troops nearby are under the Third Legion.” Lin Ling opened his communicator and sent a message.
“El was trafficking Empire energy. That alone gets him fifty years in prison. I’ve handed the matter over to them.”
“No need.” Lu Shihuai grabbed his hand and retracted the message.
“It’s not time to fully burn bridges yet. El’s status is important—we shouldn’t move on him for now.”
Though he said that, Lin Ling had no intention of letting El off the hook.
He walked over to the unconscious man and kicked him—hard.
Two crisp cracks sounded—El’s legs were broken cleanly.
Even though he was unconscious, the man on the ground seemed to register the pain—his face twisted grotesquely and his body convulsed in response.
Lin Ling said coldly,
“Then let him lie in bed for a few months.”
Lu Shihuai walked up behind him and wrapped his arms around Lin Ling’s waist, resting his chin on the young man’s shoulder. He chuckled.
“You really are…”
“I know you could tell—I didn’t actually care that he insulted me.”
All he wanted was Lin Ling’s attention.
Lin Ling pulled Lu Shihuai’s hand away from his waist and turned around.
“He’s from the Alliance. So what if I kicked him twice?”
His usually indifferent voice lifted slightly at the end.
So cute…
Lu Shihuai couldn’t resist—he cupped the man’s face and bit his lips gently.
Just two nibbles, then he reluctantly stopped.
Ever since they first got intimate, Lu Shihuai had wanted to keep kissing him—no amount ever felt like enough.
But he was still in his twenties, full of youthful energy, and too much intimacy inevitably led to… reactions he couldn’t control.
Lu Shihuai gave Lin Ling a pitiful look.
This person’s promise was truly intoxicating. But Lin Ling didn’t love him yet, and he didn’t want to take things too far before he did.
He’d just have to endure it for now.
Lin Ling didn’t seem to notice his frustration. He tugged on Lu’s hand, gave it a squeeze, and led him out of the control room.
“Alright. Time to go back.”
As they left, a fluttering white sheet of paper landed beside El.
On it were four words, scrawled without signature:
【Leave the Empire.】
When El received it, he was still fuming. His fingers clenched the paper so tightly that the words distorted with the wrinkles.
The red-haired youth wanted to kick something out of frustration—but the pain in his legs reminded him he was now a cripple.
Slamming his fists against the bed, he roared in fury:
“Lin! Ling!!”
There was only one person who could make Lu Shihuai submit.
The white paper was shredded into pieces, fluttering to the floor. From the pile, a pair of eyes glinted—burning with hatred.
…
They took their time returning.
On the way, Lin Ling explained everything.
“I got into a fight when I left the Alliance. My spiritual power took a major hit—that’s why I lost my memory.”
He said it lightly, but it pierced Lu Shihuai’s heart like a needle.
Lu knew Lin Ling’s strength better than anyone. For him to sustain spiritual damage that bad… he didn’t even want to imagine how dangerous it must’ve been.
“Don’t look at me like that.”
Lin Ling glanced at him.
“Careful I go crazy again.”
He wasn’t joking—he really had issues.
Due to what he’d gone through as a child, he sometimes couldn’t control his emotions, leading to extreme behavior.
That explained what happened when he first regained his memory—his brain still foggy, hugging and kissing Lu Shihuai, whispering ambiguous words.
Lin Ling understood himself very well: he was starved for affection, with strong possessiveness and control issues.
So when someone like Lu Shihuai—someone he had full control over—told him “I love you,” it was incredibly seductive.
No wonder he’d made all those promises without hesitation.
Whenever Lu looked at him with those all-encompassing eyes, he couldn’t help but agree to anything.
Unexpectedly, after he said that, Lu Shihuai’s eyes lit up—like he was incredibly hopeful.
Lin Ling: “…”
Love-brained. Even scarier.
“You’re so annoying,” Lin Ling muttered under his breath.
Then he looked up at Lu Shihuai again and extended a hand.
“You want to kiss and hug me? Fine. We’ve already come this far—can’t you just be bold about it?”
After all, Lu Shihuai was his for life now. For the sake of his own survival, Lu wouldn’t betray or leave him.
Even the Lu Shihuai from the past was impossible to resist—now, with added appeal, he was even more dangerous.
So Lin Ling decided to drop the pretense altogether.
They’d kissed, he’d made promises while half-conscious—it was time to give this a try.
As Lu Shihuai sat on his lap and hugged him, Lin Ling said:
“I don’t know what normal people do in relationships. I probably won’t love you either. But if you’re okay with that, then we can be together.”
“Okay.” Lu Shihuai agreed without hesitation.
Lin Ling pinched his cheek.
“How come you’re suddenly so obedient?”
With his personality, Lin expected him to pin him down and kiss him senseless.
“Because you agreed to be with me. I’m happy.”
Lin Ling:
“If you’d confessed earlier that you liked me, I would’ve said yes. You’re the one who kept pretending.”
Lu Shihuai was speechless.
Did she think he didn’t want to confess?
Even though he understood Lin Ling better than anyone, emotions were complicated—he had no idea what Lin was really thinking.
If he’d known Lin Ling’s heart was so broken that he’d say yes to anything…
He would’ve dragged him into bed long ago.
No need to wait until now, coaxing and deceiving him after memory loss just to get started.
Oh well. What could he do?
He’d fallen for a spiky, oblivious idiot.
Lu Shihuai touched Lin Ling’s cheek and kissed him.
“Stamped. You’re mine.”
Lin Ling mimicked him and kissed back.
“Stamped.”
Lin Ling, always eager to learn and quick to put it into practice, was too adorable. Lu Shihuai’s heart skipped a beat.
“Should we give each other nicknames? Like ‘darling’, ‘baby’, ‘hubby’, ‘Ling-bao’…”
Lin Ling’s hand twitched. He gave Lu a complicated look.
“Don’t call me that.”
What were these weird names??
“Just call me normally.”
Lu Shihuai dropped the joking tone, voice solemn:
“…Lin Ling, I love you.”
“Mm. Got it.”
Thinking back, this was actually Lu Shihuai’s first confession.
Lin Ling suddenly felt like he’d been scammed.
So he decided to give this guy a little lesson.
“Don’t get too happy yet. My spiritual power hasn’t fully recovered—I might lose my memory again.”
He expected Lu Shihuai to panic and rush to find someone to help.
Instead, Lu asked:
“What’s the deal with Lanlos?”
Lin Ling: “…That’s all you’re gonna ask?”
“Yep.”
“I might lose my memory again…”
“Mm. Minor issue. So what about Lanlos?”
Out of Lin Ling’s sight, Lu Shihuai smiled quietly.
So what if he loses his memory again? He’ll still be mine.
Lanlos, Lanlos—always Lanlos!!
That bastard.
Lin Ling puffed up his cheeks in anger.
“That bastard… Lanlos was my target, so I used some tricks to get his attention. Who knew he’d fall for me and start clinging like crazy.”
“And because I’m an Alpha, he wanted to remove my glands to force me to be with him.”
The Alliance didn’t have ABO gender distinctions—only male and female, or more accurately, male and female-type.
Lanlos wanted to keep Lin Fansheng as a concubine and needed his father’s approval. But because the Winged race forbade intermarriage with outsiders, and saw Alpha as “male,” Omega as “female,”
As the Crown Prince, Lanlos couldn’t be seen as gay—not even in a lover.
“He was the perfect entry point. But when I found out he wanted to remove my glands, I had a huge fight with him. I said even if they turned me into an Omega, I wouldn’t give up my glands—if they did, I’d rather die.”
“Not long after, he told me they were conducting gender conversion experiments on Imperial citizens. Whether I agreed or not, he’d send me there.”
“When I realized the lab was my actual target, I pretended to fall into his trap and got myself in.”
Lu Shihuai’s grip on his hand tightened.
“Your body…”
No wonder Lin Ling’s body had gotten more delicate. So it really was Lanlos’ doing.
“Yeah. It was part of the experiment.”
Lin Ling patted Lu’s hand in reassurance.
“Don’t worry. They didn’t finish it. I escaped once I got what I needed.”
“Give me a little time, and I’ll recover.”
Lu Shihuai, hearing all that, became even more concerned about one thing:
“When you were in that lab… were you afraid?”
That lab…
Lu Shihuai closed his eyes.
It was basically Lin Ling’s childhood nightmare.
And yet, he’d willingly gone back in.
Lu didn’t dare imagine how much resolve it took for him to go through with that.
“…It’s all in the past.”
Lin Ling smiled gently and changed the subject.
“Lanlos came to the Hilier star system to get an experimental report—on pheromone modification.”
“I’d been using him the whole time. I found out what he was after, stole a crucial chip, and now he wants to kill me.”
“Pheromone modification?” Lu Shihuai flinched at the familiar term.
“Someone’s still experimenting with that?”
Two years ago, that experiment had been officially banned by the Empire.
Pheromone modification altered people’s glands and caused unpredictable mutations—with almost a 100% death rate.
Lin Ling shook his head.
“No. It’s an old report.”
“You probably didn’t know—Ren Ximing was born on Hilier.”
Former Marshal, Ren Ximing.
And of course, also known as—Lin Ling’s teacher.
