Cohabitation With The Maniacally Gorgeous CEO - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
An Yiqing looked like a good girl. Ye Shan’ge said that she had never said a harsh word to any persistent suitor. To avoid conflict, she’d rather choose to move away herself.
She would absolutely never mess with anyone.
Could it be that she and Ye Shan’ge were both wrong about her?
Yu Sirou looked at the receding figure, her expression very complicated.
Hu Bingjie, inside the net bag, was still struggling, her muffled cries sounding painful.
Her eyes conveyed a look of distress, pleading for help.
Yu Sirou glanced at her, “You know Ah Yin’s temper, yet you insisted on provoking her. Who can save you? Stop struggling, save your strength for kowtowing and apologizing to Ah Yin and An Yiqing; that’s more practical.”
Yu Sirou followed in An Yiqing’s footsteps, walking toward the back of the trees.
It had just rained yesterday, and the air carried the fragrance of fresh earth.
A lounge chair was placed under the tree, and a person was sitting on it.
Fine, soft strands of hair danced in the wind.
She leaned back in the chair commandingly, a rope clutched in her hand.
The rope was long, loosely wrapped around her palm a few times.
Her gaze fell on the net bag. She tightened her grip on the rope, and her pale white wrist pulled downwards.
Whoosh—
The person in the net bag was abruptly lifted up a notch.
Like a pig hanging in mid-air.
The sound of screams came out through the black tape, muffled and unpleasant.
The person standing next to the chair looked at her quietly, then reached out a hand to Xu Lingyin.
“Give it to me,” her voice was faint, just like the wind blowing at the moment.
Xu Lingyin clutched the rope tightly, sneering, “Does Teacher An want to show great mercy?”
The expression on her face indicated she was about to get angry.
Yu Sirou saw something was wrong and quickly walked over. She was the one who called An Yiqing, and if they started arguing, it wouldn’t look good.
“Ah Yin, Hu Bingjie has already realized her mistake. Holding this broken rope will hurt your hand. It’s not worth it for Hu Bingjie,” Yu Sirou sat next to her, instinctively reaching for the rope.
Xu Lingyin turned her head, looking at Yu Sirou.
She was smiling noncommittally, but didn’t say a word.
This kind of expression meant that Xu Lingyin was about to erupt.
Yu Sirou retracted her hand, laughing, “Fine, you continue.”
“I’m not doing this for her,” Xu Lingyin said, “What is Hu Bingjie to me? I just can’t tolerate her vandalizing someone else’s car. That’s a car that’s going to enter my house; how dare she touch it?”
“So, you’re doing this for An Yiqing’s…”
Yu Sirou didn’t finish her sentence, catching Xu Lingyin’s dagger-like glare, she quickly added two words.
“car.”
Xu Lingyin played with the rope, nodding, “An Yiqing driving a broken car from my house would make me look bad.”
“Hmm, that makes a lot of sense,” Yu Sirou looked at An Yiqing, who had been quiet the whole time, “What do you say, Miss An? Oh, don’t just stand there, quickly sit down.”
An Yiqing took the opportunity to sit down and answered the question Yu Sirou had asked just now, “It makes sense. Miss Xu, give the rope to me. Miss Hu is an adult after all, and her weight is a factor. Aren’t you tired of holding it all this time?”
Xu Lingyin couldn’t help but look over, and even the person in the net bag was screaming.
Yu Sirou burst out laughing.
Hu Bingjie usually hated it when people mentioned her weight the most.
Although An Yiqing was unintentional, she hit Hu Bingjie’s sore spot.
Truly killing without a trace.
An Yiqing looked at their expressions, then quickly averted her eyes, “No, I didn’t mean to attack her weight. I meant…”
It was rare for her to be in a hurry to explain herself.
If Xu Lingyin misunderstood her as a superficial woman, that would be very bad.
Her gaze fell back to her own hand, An Yiqing added, “I’m strong, I’m suitable for holding the rope.”
Yu Sirou looked at An Yiqing, then turned her eyes back to Xu Lingyin, covering her mouth as she chuckled, “Ah Yin, I understand now. Miss An has no intention of rescuing anyone. I’ve found you a helper.”
“Good eye,” Xu Lingyin untied the rope and placed it in An Yiqing’s hand, complimenting Yu Sirou.
Who exactly was that compliment for?
Yu Sirou smiled helplessly.
Her eyes reflected the net bag, watching Hu Bingjie go up and down.
Like she was doing an extreme sport.
If Xu Lingyin were to mess with someone, she might have more tricks, but her strength wouldn’t sustain it for too long.
After one round of torment, Hu Bingjie would at most have some marks from the net bag on her body, feel dizzy for a while, and after some rest, she could continue to court disaster.
An Yiqing was different.
She was a sports trainer after all, her biggest advantage was her great strength and endurance.
Hu Bingjie wanting to compete with her was a pipe dream.
When it was time for dinner, Hu Bingjie was forced to perform a set of calisthenics in the air.
When she came down, her head was spinning.
Xu Lingyin called Hu Bingjie’s family.
Hu Bingjie’s older sister came to pick her up, constantly apologizing to her.
Xu Lingyin didn’t even spare her a glance, her face colder than ice.
Glancing at An Yiqing, her red lips parted, “Go home for dinner.”
An Yiqing followed, driving her away.
Hu Bingjie’s older sister helped support Hu Bingjie, her gaze fixed on the two people driving away, asking Yu Sirou, “Sirou, who was that person?”
“Mind your own business. You really don’t know what’s important. The one who’s constantly getting into trouble is the one you should be taking care of,” Yu Sirou said in an annoyed tone, “If Hu Bingjie causes any more trouble, I won’t speak up for her.”
“Don’t be like that, Sirou, we grew up together. Can you just watch her suffer?”
“With the way she acts, even the God of Death would have trouble saving her.”
“Sirou…”
…
After An Yiqing and Xu Lingyin left, they planned to go home to cook, but Xu Lingyin told her to take a turn and head to the city center.
Following Xu Lingyin’s guidance, An Yiqing arrived at a parking lot.
As soon as she stopped, Xu Lingyin rolled down the car window.
The staff saw her and immediately smiled, guiding the way while asking, “Miss Xu, it’s been a while.”
“Yes, I have some free time today,” Xu Lingyin smiled slightly.
While they were talking, An Yiqing peeked through the window at the name of the parking lot.
Great, Ningcheng’s most high-end Western restaurant.
An Yiqing drove in and casually asked, “Aren’t we going back to eat?”
“It’s already one o’clock,” Xu Lingyin looked out the window.
Actually, cooking at home would be faster.
An Yiqing didn’t point that out, changing the question, “Miss Xu, do you like Western food?”
“No,” Xu Lingyin smoothed her hair, looked at her, and then said, “If we were eating Chinese food, we could just go home and eat what you make. Since we’re out, of course, we should try a different flavor.”
The car suddenly stopped.
Xu Lingyin was caught off guard and almost hit the car window.
Luckily, An Yiqing was quick, grabbing her arm and pulling her toward herself.
Her hair brushed against An Yiqing’s body.
“An Yiqing, can you even drive?” Xu Lingyin glared at her fiercely.
An Yiqing’s face was a little flushed, and she averted her gaze, “My apologies, that was accidental just now. It won’t happen again.”
Xu Lingyin unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car.
An Yiqing was left alone in the car, staring blankly at the empty seat next to her.
Xu Lingyin praised her cooking, and her heart felt a little unruly.
She truly hadn’t meant to cause Xu Lingyin to hit the window.
Taking two deep breaths, An Yiqing finally got out of the car and followed Xu Lingyin’s pace.
From the moment they got out of the car, a waiter came over to receive them.
He led them to the restaurant.
It was past one o’clock, not the peak dining time, so there weren’t many people.
Xu Lingyin chose a window seat.
Listening to the waiter introduce the dishes.
An Yiqing sat across from her, looking out the window.
That sentence was still lingering in her mind.
She recalled the tone and the way Xu Lingyin pronounced the words.
It felt more appealing than the Western food.
“An Yiqing?”
The clear voice drilled into her ear again.
An Yiqing looked at the person across from her.
Her eyebrows were raised, her foxy eyes slightly narrowed.
A mysterious smile played on her lips.
She looked like she was about to get angry.
An Yiqing lightly coughed, “I’m sorry, could you please say that again?”
“Miss An, what would you like to eat?” the waiter repeated.
Xu Lingyin waved her hand, and the waiter nodded and left.
Xu Lingyin took the menu, opened it, and pushed it in front of An Yiqing, “Choose one.”
An Yiqing casually glanced at it, “The same as yours will be fine.”
“A drink.”
“The same as yours.”
Slap—
Xu Lingyin closed the menu, her voice turning cold, “An Yiqing, is eating with me that painful?”
An Yiqing didn’t know how to respond.
She quickly shook her head, “That’s not what I meant.”
“You don’t listen to what I say, and you don’t want to choose your food. If you weren’t willing, you should have just said so earlier. Now that we’re here, you pull this stunt, is there a point to it?”
Xu Lingyin folded her arms, turning her head to look out the window.
Her lips drooped, her expression was a mix of anger and perhaps grievance.
An Yiqing intuitively felt it was anger.
The emotion of grievance didn’t seem to fit Xu Lingyin.
Sitting up straight, An Yiqing gazed at the person across from her, earnestly explaining, “Miss Xu, I rarely come to Western restaurants, so I don’t know what’s good. The staff just now were very familiar with you, so I figured you come often and what you order wouldn’t be bad, so I chose based on your preference.”
“They introduced the dishes; why didn’t you listen?” Xu Lingyin’s tone softened slightly, but she still wasn’t letting her off the hook.
An Yiqing raised her hand, resting her fingertips on her lips, a bit embarrassed, “I’m sorry, the scenery outside was quite good, and I was so engrossed that I didn’t hear.”
Xu Lingyin’s frown smoothed out. She called the waiter, “The usual.”
“And for Miss An?”
“The same as mine.”
After the waiter left, Xu Lingyin spoke, “If you like it here, you can come often in the future.”
An Yiqing hummed in agreement, the knot in her heart finally relaxing.
One truly couldn’t afford to be careless in front of this Miss Xu.
She merely spaced out for a moment and had to weave a few sentences to smooth things over.
The appetizer was two servings of Crème brûlée, delicately charming in appearance.
The kind that made one reluctant to take a bite.
An Yiqing was not good at making desserts and silently took note of it.
Picking up her cutlery, she ate a little; the taste was quite good.
She ate in small, delicate sips.
Xu Lingyin suddenly asked, “Do you have a favorite dessert?”
An Yiqing thought for a moment. She didn’t seem to have a particular favorite, nor one she disliked, so she shook her head, “Not at the moment.”
The person across from her stared at her for a while, then softly said, “An Yiqing, are you indifferent to everything?”
The question was very sudden and somewhat deep.
This was the first time they had discussed such a topic, and An Yiqing didn’t understand the motivation behind Xu Lingyin’s question.
It certainly wasn’t just casual small talk.
Putting down her cutlery, An Yiqing looked up at her, stating directly, “Miss Xu, I don’t understand.”
Xu Lingyin held the spoon, then put it down again, lifting her eyelids to meet An Yiqing’s gaze.
“You took the rope from me and messed with Hu Bingjie today. Aren’t you afraid she’ll come after you like she did last night, recklessly looking for trouble?”
An Yiqing was stunned for a moment, then suddenly laughed.
“What are you laughing at?” Xu Lingyin was very displeased.
An Yiqing blinked and smiled, saying, “Miss Xu, if you’re concerned about me, you can be more direct.”
