Cohabitation With The Maniacally Gorgeous CEO - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Xu Lingyin’s tone was full of schadenfreude.
As if saying, “Let’s see how you endure this week.”
An Yiqing was not good at socializing. Even though the woman in front of her was beautiful enough to make one’s heart flutter, she couldn’t stay to chat.
Besides, the other party clearly disliked her.
Xu Lingyin listed a series of prohibitions, and An Yiqing returned to her room as soon as she finished listening.
Everything was available inside, so she didn’t need to try to be visible in front of the other person.
The room was very clean. The decoration was not as elaborate as the living room, with only a few landscape photos hanging on the wall.
Staggered horizontally and vertically, the color scheme was very harmonious.
She looked at them and thought to herself: That young lady has a bad temper, but her aesthetics are excellent.
After organizing all her things, she took a photo on the balcony and sent it to Ye Qian’ge.
Settled in
As for the difficult roommate, she didn’t mention a word.
After resting for about ten minutes, it was almost dinner time.
An Yiqing hadn’t forgotten the condition for renting here: cooking.
Opening a search engine, An Yiqing typed: “What to eat for a bad stomach?”
She briefly looked at some recipes and got up to buy groceries at the nearby supermarket.
When she came out, the person in the living room was gone; she didn’t know if she had left or was in her room.
An Yiqing couldn’t knock on the door.
A strict order was given to prohibit approaching the young lady’s room.
She had no interest in stepping on someone else’s landmines.
She sent a message to Yu Sirou, asking if she needed to prepare dinner for Xu Lingyin.
She received a reply just as she arrived at the supermarket.
She eats at home in the evening
I’ll leave it to you
An Yiqing bought groceries for tonight and tomorrow morning and went home to cook.
The large kitchen was particularly comfortable to use.
She felt like she could show off her skills.
She even found the right angle for her camera setup.
She was very efficient and started dinner precisely at six.
The dishes for the two people were cooked separately.
The young lady probably wouldn’t like her food to be “contaminated.”
An Yiqing took a picture and sent it to Yu Sirou, asking her to help call the other person for dinner.
After waiting for a while, she received a message back.
[Don’t wait for her, just put it in the insulated cabinet, that’s how it will be from now on]
An Yiqing complied. To prevent the young lady from not knowing, she went back to her room, got a sticky note, clearly wrote down the day’s menu, and posted it on the table.
Xu Lingyin rushed over to her best friend’s house aggressively, her fox-like eyes slightly narrowed, glaring at her.
She looked like she was demanding a debt be repaid.
“A’yin, I was just about to call you, and here you are. What a coincidence,” Yu Sirou poured her a glass of water.
Xu Lingyin saw her calm demeanor, lost her energy, and lay down on the sofa, looking miserable: “Yu Sirou, hurry up and make her leave, I can’t stand the sight of her.”
“That won’t do,” Yu Sirou spoke softly, but her tone was firm. “Do you want to stay in the hospital for a few more days?”
She can save my stomach problems?
What a joke.
Xu Lingyin remembered the way An Yiqing spoke, and anger flared up.
So fond of cooking, go apply for a nanny job. If you dare to come and plague me, you have to accept my wrath.
She actually said she currently had no intention of moving out.
It was only because of her good manners that she hadn’t thrown the luggage out.
Xu Lingyin kneaded the throw pillow, her eyes dark and uncertain.
“A’yin, we’ve already set three ground rules; you can’t touch any tenant unless they can’t stand it themselves,” Yu Sirou reminded her at the right time.
Xu Lingyin said with a gloomy face: “If I don’t touch her, she’ll know to scram tomorrow.”
Yu Sirou smiled: “If you succeed, I have nothing to say.”
“After I succeed, don’t find me any more roommates. I don’t need one,” Xu Lingyin said.
Yu Sirou sighed softly.
Twenty-one tenants already, and she couldn’t keep any of them. No matter how much she cared about her friend, she didn’t have the energy to keep searching.
She had no choice but to agree.
“I think that girl’s cooking is quite good. The dishes are very suitable for you, and the colors are comforting. I can smell the aroma of the food just by looking at the picture,” Yu Sirou clicked on the photo to show her.
Xu Lingyin was dismissive: “Don’t keep trying to stuff people into my house. Am I really going to starve myself to death?”
She won’t starve to death, but she might end up lying in the hospital becoming the norm.
Yu Sirou muttered silently.
The two chatted for a bit, and Yu Sirou invited her to dinner, but Xu Lingyin flatly refused.
Yu Sirou told her to go home and eat, but Xu Lingyin ignored her.
Clicking in her high heels, she left her best friend’s house and went straight to the company.
The office building was empty on Sunday.
Xu Lingyin went up alone to work overtime.
In reality, there wasn’t that much work, but the thought of a stranger in her house made her want to go crazy.
She chugged a glass of cold water, forcing herself to calm down.
She had promised Yu Sirou not to take action, and she couldn’t break her word.
She worked until ten o’clock, then brought three drinking buddies she knew from the bar home.
She moved alcohol out of the fridge, taking up half the coffee table.
“Unhappy today?” Mu Qing opened a can and handed it to Xu Lingyin.
Bai Ya and Cui Ke pointed to the rooms behind them: “Did an annoying person move in?”
Xu Lingyin took the can, took a big gulp, and slammed the bottle on the table with a loud clang: “Don’t ask, just drink to your heart’s content tonight, are you in?”
“That high-energy? That suits me perfectly.”
“Absolutely.”
“Let’s party until dawn.”
They often stayed up all night, and they brought the bar games here.
They took turns with dice and a spinner, muttering incantations, and whoever lost had to drink.
Their voices were clear and had strong penetrating power.
With the high volume, no matter how good the soundproofing was, the person in the room wouldn’t be able to sleep peacefully.
In the first two weeks, a few tenants couldn’t stand it and fled that very night.
The friends were happy to comply, with alcohol to drink and a show to watch.
They drank two-thirds of the alcohol on the table.
An Yiqing’s door remained tightly shut, with no movement.
Xu Lingyin grew irritable, throwing empty cans all over the floor.
She wanted to continue.
Bai Ya quickly offered a suggestion: “Let’s go straight to the ultimate move.”
Xu Lingyin didn’t hesitate and stood up.
Her head was spinning, seven or eight parts drunk, and she stumbled back down.
Cui Ke quickly helped her sit properly, got up to fetch the CD player and computer, and set them up on a stand.
Mu Qing took care of Xu Lingyin, while Bai Ya helped set up the rest of the equipment.
They had done this many times and were quite skilled.
The large living room was perfect for DJing.
In a villa area, Cui Ke found it exhilarating and was eager to start.
Once the equipment was set up, Xu Lingyin’s fox-like eyes were half-closed, and she waved her hand.
Cui Ke started.
It was early morning, the dead of night.
Music with an incredibly strong beat echoed through Xu Lingyin’s villa.
Bai Ya followed along, drumming on a makeshift stand.
Xu Lingyin lay on the sofa, her gaze sweeping towards An Yiqing’s door.
Waiting for a reaction from inside.
She couldn’t hear what Mu Qing was saying next to her at all.
Fortunately, the villas were far apart, so they wouldn’t disturb anyone else.
The music played continuously for an hour, the floor practically vibrating, but An Yiqing showed no sign of movement.
Xu Lingyin suspected there was no one inside. Otherwise, she should have seen the woman walk out with a face full of anger.
Mu Qing cupped her mouth and whispered in her ear: “Is that person deaf?”
Xu Lingyin barely heard it, realizing her plan had failed.
She took a bottle of alcohol, opened it, and poured it down.
As the alcohol went down, her stomach felt a burning sensation, and a wave of nausea rose.
She pushed Mu Qing away and staggered into the bathroom.
She threw up.
She had ordered takeout while working overtime in the evening.
When she lifted the lid, the food smelled fragrant, but all she wanted to do was vomit.
She hadn’t eaten anything.
With nothing in her stomach, she vomited bitter bile.
She felt sick.
She rinsed her mouth and walked out. Mu Qing supported her and pointed to the insulated cabinet: “I saw food inside, you should eat something. Your stomach can’t handle it if you don’t eat.”
With a mocking smile on her red lips, Xu Lingyin stared at her: “Did you come to the wrong place?”
Did she really think I called people here to babysit me?
Realizing she had crossed a line, Mu Qing quickly apologized.
She sat back down with her.
The deafening noise continued until five o’clock and finally stopped.
Xu Lingyin called a designated driver to take her friends home, then collapsed on the sofa and fell into a stupor.
The lingering smell of alcohol had not dispersed even after more than an hour.
At half-past six, An Yiqing’s internal clock took effect.
She opened her hazy eyes.
The bed was soft, like a cloud, and extremely comfortable to sleep in.
She vaguely heard sounds last night, but the covers were too cozy, so she didn’t pay attention and fell asleep.
She woke up feeling refreshed.
She stretched, got up to wash, and then prepared breakfast.
Stepping out of the room, a strong smell of alcohol assaulted her.
The sensor light came on, illuminating the living room littered with empty cans.
A computer was set up between the coffee table and the TV cabinet.
A set of equipment was placed beside it.
An Yiqing had never been to a bar, but she recognized this equipment for DJing.
The sound last night was a DJ session?
An Yiqing glanced at the sofa, where Xu Lingyin was lying.
Xu Lingyin, asleep, was neither overbearing nor irritable.
Her wine-red long hair was scattered on the sofa, covering most of her face.
Perhaps she was uncomfortable or having a bad dream, as her eyebrows were furrowed.
Her gaze slid, and An Yiqing also frowned slightly.
The dress of the person on the sofa had slipped above her knees, leaving her lower legs exposed.
Xu Lingyin’s dress was thin, and she wasn’t covered by anything. No matter how sufficient the heating was, the temperature was still not enough.
She had her legs curled up, huddled in a ball in the corner of the sofa.
Sleeping in a drunken daze.
Annoying others by first annoying yourself, is this the young lady’s way of driving people out?
Yu Sirou was right to find her a roommate.
An Yiqing lifted her eyelids, went back to her room to get a quilt, and gently covered her.
Ensuring she was warm, An Yiqing started to clean up the mess.
The bottles would make noise, so her movements were extremely careful, trying not to wake Xu Lingyin.
An Yiqing felt quite energetic cleaning in the early morning and washed her hands to prepare breakfast.
This morning’s breakfast was sandwiches and milk.
An Yiqing was not used to eating at school and always ate at home.
After eating, she opened the insulated cabinet.
Last night’s dinner was perfectly preserved.
As a food blogger, An Yiqing wouldn’t waste food.
She took three food containers, packed the dishes, put them in her bag, and took them to school to eat.
After tidying up the kitchen, An Yiqing saw that it was still early and decided to make breakfast for Xu Lingyin.
She had bought dumplings and steamed buns last night.
She heard that people with stomach problems could eat these things.
She prepared egg dumplings and a steamed bun, packing them into a sealed lunch box.
She took a sticky note and wrote a line of text:
You need to eat to have the energy to mess with people.
She raised her almond eyes, glanced at Xu Lingyin, and then at the sentence, worried that it would make her even angrier.
She crossed it out, threw it into the trash can, used a new one, wrote a different note, and left for work.
The living room fell into a brief silence.
On the sofa, the quilt moved, and Xu Lingyin suddenly sat up.
Her face was darker with resentment than a ghost.
She had woken up when An Yiqing left the room.
Not only was the woman unaffected, but she was also quietly cleaning up her mess.
What does that mean? Trying to appease me?
Is she someone who can be easily appeased?
The resentment turned into anger. Xu Lingyin kicked off the quilt, walked to the dining table with dark circles under her eyes.
The lunch box was neatly placed on the table, with a pink sticky note attached.
Stock up on food on time, and your body will be healthy.
Xu Lingyin felt like she wanted to go crazy.
