Cohabitation With The Maniacally Gorgeous CEO - Chapter 6
Chapter 6Â
Reading Xu Lingyin’s message repeatedly, a smile touched An Yiqing’s eyes.
This Miss Xu was a grateful person after all.
Clicking the input box, An Yiqing replied to the message.
Qing: It was just a small favor, no need to worry about it.
Xu Lingyin: Whether I worry about it or not is up to me. Accept the transfer.
Regardless of how large the amount was, An Yiqing would not accept it.
Her mind turned, and she came up with an idea.
Miss Xu, if you really want to thank me, please eat properly. People like me who enjoy cooking can’t stand it when others don’t treat their stomach seriously.
After sending the message, she did not receive a reply for a long time.
She didn’t know if Xu Lingyin thought she was being nosy or if she had fallen asleep.
An Yiqing reread the message, sighing inwardly that she shouldn’t have been so talkative.
Closing WeChat, she started editing her video.
An Yiqing was in good health and exercised regularly, so staying up all night had little effect on her.
After tidying up, she went to work.
When she arrived at school and was just parking her car, two people walked up to her.
“Teacher An, how have you been after two days?”
Both held breakfast and presented it to her: “It’s so early, you haven’t had breakfast, right? I just bought this; it tastes great. Would you like to try it?”
The other person also offered a bottle of milk.
“Sorry, I brought my own,” An Yiqing said, walking quickly towards the office with her bag.
The two were persistent; despite being refused, they followed.
They took turns asking An Yiqing if she had any interesting anecdotes from the past two days.
These two were the suitors who had been hanging around An Yiqing recently.
They had been away for training during the two days she moved, so they didn’t know An Yiqing hadn’t returned to her residence.
An Yiqing kept her eyes forward and continued on her path.
Seeing them about to follow her into the office, she politely stated: “Excuse me, I have something to attend to, so I won’t keep either of you.”
As the two were about to say something, Huang Qian walked over.
An Yiqing looked at her: “Teacher Huang, how is Zhao Junfeng doing?”
“Ah, him, let me tell you…”
The two talked and walked side-by-side into the office.
Huang Qian saw the two men behind them about to follow and smiled: “Teacher Liu, Teacher Zhang, is everything alright? Teacher An and I need to discuss something involving a student’s privacy, so I need to close the door.”
They smiled politely and made a gesture of courtesy.
The door closed with a bang, and Huang Qian let out a long sigh of relief.
Fortunately, there weren’t many people in the office right now; otherwise, different versions of the story would be fabricated.
“Teacher An, this situation can’t go on,” Huang Qian remarked emotionally.
Both she and An Yiqing had joined the school last year, attended the training together, and taught the same class, so they were quite familiar with each other.
She had witnessed An Yiqing’s charm.
She just hadn’t expected that, when it came to dating, people in any profession would resort to constant pestering.
And those watching the spectacle loved to add fuel to the fire by playing matchmaker haphazardly.
“I plan to move,” An Yiqing took out a sandwich and milk and offered one to Huang Qian.
Huang Qian waved her hand, declining.
“Teacher An, you still need to be a bit firmer. These people are quite thick-skinned.”
An Yiqing took a bite of her sandwich and remained silent.
She was so deeply influenced by her mother from a young age that she always preferred to avoid conflict with others.
Tearing the woman away from Xu Lingyin in the bar that day was already the most unusual thing she had ever done.
Not wanting her colleague to worry about her personal troubles, An Yiqing smiled: “Mhm, I’ll figure something out.”
As the workday approached, other teachers in the office started arriving. They dropped the subject and went about their respective tasks.
*
On Wednesday, An Yiqing finished work at five o’clock.
As soon as she reached the parking lot, Teacher Liu was standing next to her car.
An Yiqing was about to turn and leave when Teacher Liu called out to her, inviting her to dinner.
“Teacher Liu, I’m sorry, I have something else to do,” An Yiqing used the same excuse.
In the morning, with Huang Qian present, Teacher Liu hadn’t been too pushy. But now in the parking lot, everyone was busy going home and didn’t have time to pay attention to them, making Teacher Liu more audacious.
“Is there anything I can help you with, Teacher An? Tell me about it,” Teacher Liu flashed what he thought was a handsome smile.
“You’re joking, Teacher Liu. This is my private matter,” An Yiqing said with indifference, not wanting to look at him.
Recalling Huang Qian’s words, An Yiqing took a deep breath and forced out a sentence: “After work is my private time. I prefer not to be disturbed, sorry.”
With that, she unlocked the car and got in.
Before she could sit down, Teacher Liu called out: “Teacher An…”
A ringing phone interrupted his words.
“Excuse me, I need to take a call,” An Yiqing took out her phone. She saw a string of digits.
But the number wasn’t unfamiliar.
An Yiqing immediately answered: “Hello, I’m off work. Come to the school to pick me up. I’ll be waiting for you at the school gate.”
Xu Lingyin: ?
“What are you talking about?” The clear voice was full of disbelief.
It was inconvenient to explain in front of others. “I’ll talk to you when we meet. I need to drive now.”
She spoke every sentence loudly.
After hanging up, she turned to the following Teacher Liu and said: “Sorry, someone is waiting. I have to go now.”
She got into the car, slammed the door shut, started the engine, and drove off, leaving Teacher Liu utterly bewildered in the wind.
After leaving the school gate and reaching a less crowded area, An Yiqing freed her hand and called Xu Lingyin back.
“Miss Xu, I apologize. The situation was a bit urgent just now, and I said some inexplicable things. Please don’t worry about it.”
A cold laugh came from the phone. Xu Lingyin’s voice was a little strained: “An Yiqing, do you think I’m someone who can be summoned and dismissed at your convenience?”
An Yiqing: …
She shouldn’t have provoked the young lady.
She silently thought three times about her mistake and said: “I am truly sorry. I will agree to any compensation Miss Xu wants.”
Xu Lingyin: “Heh.”
What a mocking laugh.
An Yiqing reached a parking spot. After pulling over, she picked up her phone: “What would Miss Xu like to eat? I’ll make it for you.”
“I’m at the school gate. Do you dare to come over and give me a ride first?” Xu Lingyin said fiercely.
An Yiqing: ?
Wasn’t she hospitalized? Why was she at the school gate?
Did Xu Lingyin rush over on purpose after hearing her words at home?
An Yiqing drove back to the west side gate and indeed saw Xu Lingyin standing at the entrance.
Her waist-length curly hair swayed in the wind, obscuring her beautiful jawline.
She was so bright and stunning that every teacher driving out glanced at her.
She attracted a lot of attention.
An Yiqing parked the car and quickly walked over to her.
Before she could speak, Xu Lingyin glanced at her and silently walked toward An Yiqing’s car.
She got into the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt.
An Yiqing had many doubts but didn’t ask. She got in the car and asked where they were going.
A cold sneer flowed from her fox-eyes. Seeing it up close was more impactful than hearing it on the phone.
The young lady’s red lips slightly parted: “An Yiqing, have you become so used to brushing people off that you can’t remember what you said a second ago?”
An Yiqing felt wronged.
How was she supposed to know that the young lady had already been discharged from the hospital?
“Then I’ll go buy groceries first,” An Yiqing informed her.
Xu Lingyin raised her beautiful eyelids: “The groceries have been bought. Drive straight home.”
An Yiqing presumed that “home” meant Yu Sirou’s villa.
Zizai Garden was considered a school district property, and taking a shortcut, it was only five minutes to the school.
Driving, however, was heavily congested and took much longer.
Xu Lingyin leaned against the car seat, looking at the long queue of cars ahead, her face becoming visibly impatient.
“Don’t drive next time. Just walk over,” Xu Lingyin said irritably.
An Yiqing glanced at her and reminded her: “It takes half an hour to walk from where I live. Walking might not be feasible.”
The person next to her was clearly unhappy.
Her crescent eyebrows furrowed together. She turned and stared at An Yiqing, her gaze sharp.
She was angry.
An Yiqing wasn’t very good at placating people, but this young lady’s temper might require some soothing.
If she were to slam the door and storm off halfway, becoming a public spectacle, it wouldn’t be ideal.
An Yiqing pursed her lips and said: “Miss Xu…”
“An Yiqing.”
The clear voice also rang out simultaneously.
An Yiqing closed her mouth and listened to the person next to her first.
Xu Lingyin didn’t hold back: “I was wrong that day. I shouldn’t have taken advantage of the situation to make that request.”
An Yiqing’s hands gripping the steering wheel tightened. She looked at Xu Lingyin’s irritated expression, unsure what to say for a moment.
After her thoughts turned over a few times, An Yiqing said: “It’s nothing. I don’t mind.”
“You don’t mind?” Xu Lingyin clearly didn’t believe her. “Then why did you move back?”
An Yiqing stared at her. Just as she was about to explain, an impatient horn blared.
The traffic had cleared.
An Yiqing started the car and drove into the villa complex.
After the traffic cleared, the time it took to get home was significantly shortened.
Neither of them spoke.
Entering the house, An Yiqing walked straight into the kitchen.
As expected, there were many vegetables in the sink.
Sea bass and shrimp/crab, along with several common vegetables.
She’d heard that people with poor stomachs shouldn’t eat too much seafood.
She might need to remind Xu Lingyin after dinner.
She mentally planned the menu, then raised her hands to gather her hair.
She usually tied her hair up when cooking, and her hair tie was usually in her bag.
Today had been full of unexpected events. She had been too rushed getting into the car just now, and her bag was still in the car.
Stepping out of the kitchen, she walked to the sofa and asked the semi-reclining Xu Lingyin: “Miss Xu, do you have anything to tie my hair with?”
Xu Lingyin glanced at her, got up, went to the bathroom, and returned with a black hair tie.
“Thank you.”
Taking the hair tie, An Yiqing smoothly gathered her hair, twisted it into a bun on the crown of her head. Her long, straight black hair was instantly transformed into a neat bun.
Xu Lingyin sat back down on the sofa, intending to continue playing her game, but inadvertently caught a glimpse of An Yiqing’s movement and looked up.
She was momentarily stunned.
The long black hair was gathered at the back of her head, revealing a slender neck.
Her skin was very fair, which further highlighted the object on her ear.
Xu Lingyin turned slightly, scrutinizing An Yiqing’s right ear.
On the delicate earlobe, a single ruby-like stud was particularly conspicuous.
It added a touch of vividness to her ethereal appearance.
As Xu Lingyin watched, An Yiqing turned and walked toward the kitchen.
The ruby flashed and disappeared from view.
The back of her earlobe was empty.
It wasn’t an earring?
Xu Lingyin followed her into the kitchen.
Looking back at Xu Lingyin, An Yiqing said: “Miss Xu, I don’t need any help here.”
Xu Lingyin ignored her, quickened her steps, and walked to her side.
Her gaze fell on the delicate ear.
Now that she was close, Xu Lingyin saw it clearly.
It wasn’t a ruby at all; it was a cinnabar mole.
It was about three millimeters in size, round like a gemstone, and absolutely beautiful.
Such a face, combined with this cinnabar mole, would be irresistible to anyone.
Xu Lingyin’s heart started beating wildly for no reason.
