- Chapter 26 - The Witch (4)
Seeing the crown prince acting so openly with Murong Ziying in front of her, Li Yingshui was so furious that she wished she could set them both on fire. If one were to ask, she had been trained since childhood to become a consort! But ever since she arrived at the Eastern Palace, she had been completely ignored. In the prince’s eyes, there was only Murong Ziying—he didn’t even spare her a glance.
She believed she was just as beautiful and talented as Murong Ziying, yet no matter what she did, she couldn’t draw the prince’s attention away from her. This made her feel deeply resentful.
“Your Highness, I believe Lady Shui is here for something important. I won’t disturb you two any longer—I’ll take my leave,” Murong Ziying said, sensing that if she stayed any longer, she would definitely anger Li Yingshui. She felt uneasy and wanted to leave quickly. Even though she knew modern judo and taekwondo, the palace had its own guards, and she dared not provoke them. After all, in novels, those who tried to take the position of the crown princess will not stop until they get what they want and so she was afraid.
“Stop. You’re not allowed to leave,” Yi Han commanded in a low voice. He knew what she was trying to do—she was intentionally leaving him alone with Li Yingshui. He was furious that she was pushing him to another woman.
Murong Ziying felt awkward.
“If she has something to say, let her say it. What is there that you can’t hear?” Yi Han pulled her back and made her sit firmly beside him. He wasn’t going to let her escape.
Then, he turned to Li Yingshui. “Speak.”
“I… Your Highness…” Li Yingshui hesitated, feeling embarrassed. She had come to ruin the moment between the crown prince and Murong Ziying and try to seduce the crown prince. But now that Murong Ziying wasn’t leaving, how could she bring it up? Her face flushed red with frustration as she glared at Murong Ziying.
Murong Ziying wasn’t feeling any better. If she ever returned to the modern world, the real Murong Ziying would come back too. Would she have to serve Yi Han again? Or… what if she couldn’t return at all? She had thought it through—she didn’t want the prince’s special favor. She just wanted to live quietly in the Eastern Palace for the rest of her life. That way, her parents wouldn’t use her to harm others again. Maybe this was fate’s way of giving her a peaceful life. As long as the prince didn’t force her to love him, maybe they could actually coexist without conflict.
“If you’re not going to say anything, then leave. I still have things to discuss with Ziying,” Yi Han said impatiently. If it weren’t for Ziying stopping him, he would have already thrown Li Yingshui out.
“You’ve already been talking with Lady Ziying for so long, and it’s still not enough?” Li Yingshui snapped, burning with jealousy.
“My affairs are none of your concern,” Yi Han replied coldly. How dare she interfere?
Suppressing her anger, Li Yingshui remembered what the Empress had told her—she must not let the crown prince spend too much time with Murong Ziying. She also had to find a way to win his favor. “Your Highness, since you’re just chatting, why not let me join you?” She leaned in sweetly.
Yi Han didn’t want anyone disturbing his time with Ziying. He was about to refuse. “No—”
“It’s fine. If Lady Shui is interested, I’m sure the prince wouldn’t mind,” Murong Ziying quickly interjected. It was better if Li Yingshui stayed—facing the prince alone made her uneasy.
“Then I won’t hold back.” Li Yingshui immediately squeezed between them, sitting right in the middle and pressing close to Yi Han, deliberately separating the two.
Yi Han’s face darkened. “How dare you!” he roared.
Li Yingshui flinched. “Y-Your Highness?” She didn’t understand why he was so angry. Didn’t men love being surrounded by beauty?
What she didn’t realize was that, while a beauty’s embrace was certainly pleasant, the wrong person only made it unbearable. Yi Han despised her rudeness toward Murong Ziying and hated that she was forcing herself between them. He had already tolerated enough—he wouldn’t anymore.
“Get out!” he ordered.
Li Yingshui froze, stunned. The crown prince had actually treated her like this!
