- Chapter 51: The Naive Adventurer Party's Goblin Hunt
Northern Territory, Winter City.
A fifteen-year-old blonde girl walked into the adventurers’ guild and headed straight for the reception desk in the hall.
As the loud chatter of adventurers filled the air, the girl felt her nerves building up, and she gripped her staff a little tighter.
She wasn’t from a wealthy family but was merely an orphan raised by the church.
Like other orphans, she was set to leave the church at the age of fifteen to choose her own path in life.
Unlike the other children, this girl had received the blessing of the Holy Light from a young age, granting her the ability to cast holy spells by devoutly praying to the God of Light.
Naturally, when she turned fifteen, she received an invitation from the church, asking her to become a nun.
However, the girl declined the invitation to become a nun and stay in the church.
Instead, she chose to leave on her own and came to this world’s adventurers’ guild because she had a secret wish since childhood—to become an adventurer.
Approaching the reception desk, the girl in her priestess robes hesitantly said to the receptionist, who had a gentle expression, “Um, I want to become… an adventurer.”
The receptionist earnestly helped the young priestess complete the registration process to become an adventurer, finally handing her a porcelain adventurer’s tag.
She smiled and said, “All set. I wish you great success in your future endeavors.”
Just as the receptionist finished speaking, the young priestess, who was about to check out the available quests, was suddenly called out to.
She turned around and saw three young people—one boy and two girls—all wearing white porcelain tags.
The boy leading the group spoke first, “Hey, you’re a priestess, right? My party needs someone with healing skills. Could you join us for an adventure? Sorry to ask so suddenly, but we’ve just taken on an urgent quest, so the more people, the better.”
“An urgent quest?”
“Yes, it’s to exterminate goblins.”
As the boy finished speaking, the receptionist showed a hesitant expression, but the boy continued, “Those damn goblins have been attacking villages, stealing food and livestock, and even kidnapping girls. We have to save them quickly!”
“Excuse me… you’re all white porcelain-ranked adventurers, right? Are you planning to go with just four people?”
Hearing the receptionist’s sudden interjection, the boy swordsman replied indignantly, “It’s just goblins. Four people should be enough, right?”
“But, if you wait a bit, other adventurers might come. It’s safer to have an experienced member for such a mission…”
The boy swordsman, losing patience, finally snapped, “What are you talking about? The kidnapped girls are waiting for us to rescue them! We can’t waste any more time!”
Seeing the boy’s determination, the receptionist could no longer argue and watched as they left.
Meanwhile, the young priestess, who had been somewhat confused about joining this party, felt a growing sense of unease.
It was as if a dark shadow loomed over these novice adventurers, refusing to dissipate and only growing darker.

“Cut! That’s the end of the first scene! Great job, everyone.”
Because the first scene took place entirely in the adventurers’ guild, filming it was quite simple.
But the next part wouldn’t be so easy.
Soon, the crew arrived at a location in the Dark Night Forest that had been scouted previously.
Although only those with roles were called to the shoot, many other adventurers, who were bored and curious about the filming process, also decided to come along.
At the cave entrance, Belldia and Wiz, whom they hadn’t seen in a few days, waved from a distance.
The place had changed drastically since they’d last seen it because Belldia and Wiz had been busy setting up the scene and preparing props as requested by Edward.
Even if they were lazy, the area had been transformed significantly.
Due to the needs of the shoot, the area was also filled with several crew members provided by Guild Master Eliza, including the props team, lighting crew, and set decorators…
When some of the Northern adventurers, who were unaware of the situation, saw a certain Headless Horseman—who seemed to radiate fear—they became quite wary.
Unlike in the South, Northern adventurers were always prepared for encounters with high-level undead or monsters.
While Southern adventurers might flee at the sight of a Headless Horseman, Northern adventurers would probably attack such a powerful undead immediately.
Finally, after Edward explained the situation, filming resumed.
The first scene to shoot was about the rookie adventurers ignoring warnings and going to a goblin cave to exterminate goblins.
Due to their lack of experience, they were all wiped out, except for the young priestess, who was saved by the Goblin Slayer.
She then joined the Goblin Slayer to eliminate the remaining goblins.
While it sounds simple, filming this scene was quite challenging.
Many of the gruesome shots needed to be cleverly edited to avoid being too graphic.
Fortunately, the original story excelled in this aspect, with almost no direct depictions of violence, so Edward only had to recreate the scenes from the “Goblin Slayer” that he remembered.
The real difficulty lay in coordinating the extras playing the goblins.
While directing humans is feasible, getting monsters to follow instructions is as difficult as making your cat do twenty backflips.
If it weren’t for Wiz telling Edward that a lich could use a spell called puppet magic to control creatures with weak wills—and that she could learn it with some time—Edward would have had to resort to dressing people up in goblin costumes.
Thankfully, Wiz’s efforts over the past few days had paid off.
Seeing the goblins lined up neatly at the cave entrance, awaiting instructions, Edward felt that this lich could probably open a monster circus with Lawrence if she wanted to.
With the goblin problem resolved, the final task for this shoot was…
“I’m ready, Director.”
Saeki’s voice came out slowly from under his helmet.
It seemed that being in such a large group, combined with his worry about revealing his undead identity, made him appear nervous and stiff.
However, Edward didn’t see this as a problem; in fact, the real Goblin Slayer was a loner, so Saeki’s awkwardness was perfectly fitting.
Seeing this fully armored figure emerge from the side, the adventurers who had come along and read the script almost thought the real Goblin Slayer had appeared before them.
In any case, after making sure the new adventurers and Daphne were ready, Edward glanced at the cave that had been set up to his specifications and announced, “Alright, everyone to your positions. ‘Goblin Slayer,’ Scene Two, get ready to shoot!”
