- Chapter 15 - Not Worth a Blow
Liu Feng noticed that Chen Le’an’s expression suddenly turned strange.
He couldn’t believe it—just a while ago, Chen Le’an was his employee. Even his wife had slept with Chen Le’an. And now, Chen Le’an was suddenly a guest of honor in the Zhang family.
Even more surprising, the young master of the Zhang family seemed to get along well with him.
Jealousy burned inside Liu Feng.
But one cold glance from Chen Le’an made him shut his mouth.
He had no choice but to stand there awkwardly.
He couldn’t sit or stand comfortably.
Just then, people around them began to stir.
“The eldest young master is here!”
A man who looked a bit like Zhang Ruibin walked into the banquet hall.
He was dressed like a martial artist, with big, strong muscles. Clearly, he was also a physical cultivator.
This was Zhang Wan, Zhang Ruibin’s cousin and the eldest son of the Zhang family.
Zhang Ruibin quickly went up to him and greeted him respectfully.
“Hello, big brother!”
But Zhang Wan walked past him without a word.
Zhang Ruibin stood there, looking embarrassed.
Seeing this, Liu Feng felt excited again.
“Chen Le’an, did you see that? Even your so-called backer means nothing to the eldest young master!”
With a smug smile, Liu Feng took Bai Fengjiao and walked over to Zhang Wan.
“Young Master Zhang!”
Liu Feng grinned and greeted Zhang Wan.
Zhang Wan frowned.
“Who are you?”
Liu Feng’s smile froze for a second, but he quickly recovered and kept smiling.
“I’m Liu Feng from Liu Pharmaceuticals. I’ve been helping you look for herbs.”
Zhang Wan thought for a moment and remembered who he was.
“So, did you find them?”
“I didn’t fail you!”
Liu Feng proudly opened a fancy box, revealing a hundred-year-old ginseng.
Zhang Wan nodded in approval.
He had always managed the Zhang family’s pharmacy in Yudu.
But recently, Zhang Ruibin had somehow gotten a large supply of rare herbs and won the old master’s favor. As a result, he took over half of the pharmacy’s control.
Zhang Wan wasn’t happy and had to fight back.
That’s why he used small companies like Liu’s to gather herbs for him.
From afar, Chen Le’an saw Liu Feng treating that herb like treasure.
He felt speechless.
Wasn’t that the wild ginseng he had casually sold before?
Back then, he was weak and didn’t dare sell to big pharmacies, so he sold a few to smaller ones.
He never thought Liu Feng would end up buying one.
When Zhang Wan nodded, Liu Feng was overjoyed.
If he could get close to the Zhang family, he could rule Yudu!
Then Liu Feng looked at Chen Le’an, then at Zhang Ruibin and Zhang Wan.
A plan formed in his mind. He could destroy Chen Le’an completely!
He moved closer to Zhang Wan and whispered, “Young Master Zhang, I’m not sure if I should say this…”
He pretended to hesitate.
Zhang Wan frowned. “Just say it.”
“There’s a man named Chen Le’an over there. He used to work for me, but I fired him for being dishonest.”
“Now he’s somehow connected to your cousin. He even brought some weird gift for the old master’s birthday.”
“I tried to stop him, but your cousin forced him in.”
“This man clearly doesn’t respect the Zhang family!”
Liu Feng looked angry, like Chen Le’an had insulted his ancestors.
Zhang Ruibin!
Zhang Wan’s eyes flashed.
He immediately walked toward Chen Le’an.
Seeing this, Liu Feng and Bai Fengjiao smiled smugly.
Let’s see how you survive this time!
“Who are you?” Zhang Wan asked coldly. He looked around the room and clearly didn’t take Chen Le’an seriously.
Zhang Ruibin quickly stepped up and smiled.
“Big brother, this is my friend, Chen Le’an. He does some business with our family.”
Zhang Wan frowned even more.
“The guests here are all powerful people from Yudu. Each of them is worth millions or has great influence.”
“How big is this man’s business with our family? I’ve never heard of him.”
Zhang Ruibin realized that if he didn’t explain well, his cousin would keep causing trouble.
So, he leaned closer and whispered, “Big brother, you don’t know—he might be a representative of a hidden sect.”
Zhang Wan shouted, “You let him in just based on a guess? Zhang Ruibin, are you stupid?”
His voice was loud and full of authority.
He had always disliked Zhang Ruibin, and now he finally had a reason to scold him in public.
Zhang Ruibin turned pale. He didn’t expect his cousin to shame him like this in front of everyone.
Still, he held back his anger and tried to explain. “Big brother, I…”
But Zhang Wan cut him off.
“No need to explain. This man’s background is unclear. He has no right to be here. Get someone to kick him out. He’s ruining the mood.”
“What if I don’t leave?”
Chen Le’an spoke calmly.
He had come to do some proper business today.
But these people were being rude.
He wasn’t going to accept that!
Liu Feng and Bai Fengjiao were thrilled.
Offending the Zhang family meant certain death!
Hearing Chen Le’an’s words, Zhang Wan laughed instead of getting angry.
“Kid, you think Zhang Ruibin can protect you?”
“Le’an, don’t be reckless!” Zhang Ruibin said in panic. “My big brother is at Qi Refining Stage 5. He’s learned most of the old master’s skills!”
The Manager Pang quickly stood up to smooth things over. “Young Master Zhang, please forgive him. Mr. Chen didn’t mean to offend you—”
Before he could finish, Zhang Wan slapped him.
The manager was caught off guard. He shut his eyes and braced for the pain.
But it didn’t come.
Confused, he slowly opened his eyes—and froze.
Chen Le’an was now beside Zhang Wan, calm and quiet as if nothing happened.
He had casually caught Zhang Wan’s hand.
Zhang Wan’s face was red from trying to pull away, but he couldn’t move at all.
The room went silent.
Everyone stared in shock.
The great young master at Qi Refining Stage 5 was being held down by a no-name youth.
Whispers started to spread.
Zhang Wan was humiliated in front of everyone. Anger boiled inside him.
He kicked at Chen Le’an with all his strength.
Chen Le’an gently pushed him.
Zhang Wan flew through the air like a sandbag and crashed heavily onto the floor.
He groaned in pain and couldn’t get up right away.
His eyes were wide with disbelief and frustration. He never thought Chen Le’an would be this strong.
He had no chance to fight back at all.
Chen Le’an said coldly, “Not worth a blow.”
Liu Feng and Bai Fengjiao were stunned.
They watched Zhang Wan get thrown back so easily, their faces full of disbelief.
“W-What’s going on?” Liu Feng stuttered. His mind was blank.
“I don’t know,” Bai Fengjiao said, shaking her head. “It’s only been a few days… How did Chen Le’an get so strong?”
They were full of confusion and shock.
In their minds, Zhang Wan had always been a powerful figure.
But now he was easily defeated.
Zhang Wan finally stood up.
His eyes were red with fury. He shouted, “Guards! Arrest this madman!”
