Dark-colored Fairy Tale: Seven Magicians - Chapter 19
Chapter 19
Yang Shishi slightly lifted her eyelids and glanced at Chloe. Tsk, another troublesome one.
Chloe seemed to sense it and looked at Yang Shishi. Their eyes met, and in the next second, they both looked away.
Yang Shishi half-closed her eyes, hiding the deeper gaze within. Liu Menglu was completely unaware, her steps growing heavier as she walked toward the supermarket. Today is going to be another busy day!
As soon as Chloe realized that something was off about Yang Shishi, her first thought was that this was another scumbag with bad intentions toward her sister!
According to her memories, that person once thought, Anyone who messes with my sister, I will cut them down!
Chloe, thinking this way, didn’t feel like she was wrong at all.
This was because the old Chloe had never had a sister.
Now, due to memory confusion, she genuinely saw Liu Menglu as her biological sister. And precisely because this was her first time experiencing this, she instinctively dealt with her sister using the mindset of the Asian man from her memories.
And people who could be tempted and corrupted by demons, their own thoughts were already significantly different from others. Combined with a demon’s temptations, some wrong ideas were directly reinforced, thus influencing Chloe, a pure and proper magical being. And as the time they spent together grew longer, this influence also grew stronger.
So, Chloe’s “cut them down” could genuinely mean she would use her Sacrificial Parasite Spear to cut you down.
Yang Shishi, on the other hand, had no idea she was being targeted by a dangerous person. At this moment, she was patting her friend’s shoulder with a sincere expression. “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely help in a bit.”
Liu Menglu quickly waved her hands, a hint of terror on her face. “Please, just go and play wherever you want. If you were to ‘help’ me, my kitchen would probably blow up!”
Liu Menglu’s words were so blunt, with repeated use of “you” to tease the person who once almost blew up a kitchen.
Yang Shishi knew she was in the wrong. She rubbed her nose and skulked behind the two of them.
Chloe, however, was in thought. She looked at her hands. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a kitchen before.
The supermarket was not far from Liu Menglu’s house. The group arrived at the large supermarket in just a five-minute walk.
As soon as they entered, the mixed smell of fish and various foods made Chloe frown.
She didn’t like the atmosphere here; it was too chaotic. And the number of people was exceptionally high. If someone were to accidentally turn into a demon here, everyone in the entire mall would become the demon’s snack.
Although she knew that demons weren’t that easy to form, Chloe was still a little uneasy. She took two steps forward and held onto Liu Menglu’s clothes.
Her originally slightly dark, golden eyes were now frosty, and she vigilantly looked around, not allowing any suspicious person to get close to Liu Menglu.
As for why she was holding onto her clothes, Liu Menglu was 164 cm tall, while the cute Chloe was 152 cm.
So, even though in her mind, her actions were to protect the powerless Liu Menglu in front of her, to outsiders, it looked like an adorable girl relying on her older sister and holding onto her clothes.
The two, already exceptionally beautiful, immediately became the center of attention in the mall. People whispered and pointed.
Chloe had excellent hearing, but in this noisy environment, she couldn’t make out what those people were saying. This made her face grow colder, as she felt they were all eyeing her sister. Should she just cut them all down?
Chloe’s expression was conflicted. As an all-around perfect girl, Liu Menglu was very used to this kind of attention. Her posture was calm, even more graceful than usual.
However, Liu Menglu soon noticed Chloe’s tension.
She tilted her head slightly and asked in a low voice, “What’s wrong?”
Chloe answered honestly, “There are too many people here. I’m not used to it.”
Liu Menglu remembered that most magical beings “can’t be seen in the light.” It made sense that being watched by so many people would make her uncomfortable. She soothed her softly, “There, there. They’re all being friendly. It’s okay. We’ll buy what we need quickly and leave soon.”
Hearing this, Chloe’s cold little face showed a hint of disappointment, but her excellent upbringing made her nod politely. Looking at Chloe, who had gone from cool and cute to just plain adorable, Liu Menglu instantly felt like Cupid’s arrow had struck her heart. She could handle this Chloe!
Covering her chest, Liu Menglu’s face flushed. She asked without any warning, “Speaking of which, I still don’t know how old you are.”
Chloe answered directly, “16.”
Liu Menglu’s face was full of disbelief, and her voice rose a few pitches. “You’re only 16!”
Chloe nodded, wondering why her age would cause such a strong reaction from Liu Menglu.
Seeing Chloe’s calm, emotionless face, Liu Menglu realized her reaction was a bit over the top. She awkwardly touched her hair, her smile radiant, and her voice held a hint of mischief. “I didn’t expect you to be a year younger than me. In that case, shouldn’t you call me ‘big sister’?”
Chloe lifted her beautiful face. Her dark golden eyes stared straight at Liu Menglu. They looked clear and transparent, yet they gave Liu Menglu a feeling of being unfathomable.
“You are my little sister,” the girl’s voice was cold, like a stone in the moonlight, stubbornly unyielding.
Looking at the girl’s determined eyes, Liu Menglu quickly surrendered. “Fine, I was just kidding. But I really didn’t expect you to be a year younger than me. It seems like you’ll have to take care of me more.”
“That’s because if I don’t, you’ll die,” Chloe said, stabbing Liu Menglu right in the heart.
Liu Menglu felt a chilling sensation, like her soul was flying away.
Her expression was dejected. Although she knew Chloe was telling the truth, she was still a little discouraged.
But thinking of Chloe’s skills, she couldn’t help but ask, “Then why don’t you train me to become a new magical girl?”
“Pipe dream.” Chloe glanced at Liu Menglu and then looked away. The blunt rejection made Liu Menglu pout. It seemed that becoming an apprentice was going to be difficult.
But she was used to it. Having been rejected so many times, Liu Menglu didn’t show any signs of disappointment. She walked toward the seafood section.
After she bought a pound of live shrimp, Yang Shishi appeared out of nowhere with a bag of curry powder in her hand.
“Mengmeng~~ I want to eat curry chicken today.” With that, Yang Shishi put her hands together in a pleading gesture and looked at Liu Menglu with a hopeful expression.
Liu Menglu, with the mindset that one lamb was as good as two, put the curry into her shopping cart. She then turned her head and asked Chloe, “Is there anything you want to eat?”
