Dark-colored Fairy Tale: Seven Magicians - Chapter 1
Chapter 2
People who die accidentally by a mage’s hand do not simply vanish like fallen demons, whose every trace on Earth disappears. The people accidentally killed leave behind a mark on the world. Their families will weep for their death, and their friends will grieve their passing. For most mages, such an outcome is simply unacceptable.
But Mist didn’t care about that. Saving one half of the population by sacrificing the other half was a good deal, wasn’t it? In fact, it was a very good deal!
The light grew stronger, illuminating the dark alley as if it were broad daylight. The intense heat baked the last drops of water from the ground, which began to crack. Watching the demon, who seemed to sense the danger and wanted to flee, Mist curled her lips into a cruel smile. “It’s too late now~”
She reached her hand forward…
“Stop, Mist!” a cold but childish voice rang out, interrupting Mist’s ultimate attack.
Mist frowned and looked up at the newcomer. “Chloe.”
Chloe nodded. Looking at the “One-Eyed Princess’s Tear” that had ceased its activation, the emotionless expression on her face seemed to show a hint of relief. She then looked up again, her delicate face showing no emotion.
Her tone was flat. “Put it away. I’ll handle him.”
Mist pouted in annoyance, looking at Chloe, who had also activated an offering. What a drag. It was bad enough that the hot search for the young celebrity and his sugar daddy was gone for tomorrow, but now it looked like the news of a “terrorist” attack was gone too.
How boring!
Seeing Mist’s lack of enthusiasm, Chloe waved her hand, and a nearly two-meter-long bl00d-red spear suddenly appeared in her grasp. In a single blow, the girl, who was only 152cm tall, killed the two-meter-tall monster.
To an outsider, this was unbelievable, but Mist simply raised her eyebrows. Though she didn’t want to admit it, she had to concede that these melee-focused mages were terrifyingly powerful in the city.
After killing the demon, Chloe’s face remained placid. She politely took out a handkerchief and placed it over the face of the demon, which had reverted to a human form.
Mist couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “You’re so formal. Anyway, this thing will just disappear after the sacrifice.”
“It’s different,” Chloe said blandly.
Mist couldn’t help but sneer. “What’s different? I think you’ve been corrupted by Chinese culture. Things like ‘resting in peace’—once you’re a demon and get sacrificed, there’s not even a speck of dust left. You shouldn’t be learning any of those Chinese customs.”
To this, Chloe uncharacteristically replied, “You’ve learned the ‘Zaun’ dialect of China quite well yourself.”
Mist scoffed. If she didn’t learn the language of the internet, how could she fight to the death with those crazy fans online?
Perhaps Mist’s expression was too straightforward; Chloe understood her meaning. With her expression unchanged, she went about sacrificing the demon as usual to prevent its re-emergence.
Mist was used to this. She played with the rose in her hand and leaned against the wall, looking up at the hazy moon. She was wondering if she could still go and snap photos of the young celebrity and his sugar daddy when an unusual fluctuation suddenly surged from Chloe.
At the same time, on the other side of the ocean in distant China, the sun was shining brightly, and a sports meet was taking place on a field.
A beautiful girl was doing stretches with full energy. Her white sportswear clung to her body, outlining a slender waist and a delicate chest. Her long, slender legs were tightly wrapped in black sweatpants, creating a graceful curve.
As the girl finished her stretches and tilted her head with a smile, the students standing on the sidelines screamed.
“Mengmeng, Mengmeng, you’re the best! You’re Class 1’s role model!”
“Mengmeng, Mengmeng, you’re the strongest! You’re Class 1’s big queen!”
“Pffft.” Liu Menglu was instantly amused by the words “big queen,” but she gave her classmates a big thumbs-up, waving to her fanboys and fangirls who were shouting slogans for her.
Instantly, the screams intensified by an octave, piercing the air.
This kind of ear-splitting cheering not only failed to annoy other classes but instead made everyone look at the students from Class 1 with envy.
Someone even mumbled softly, “Why am I not in Class 1? I also want to openly cheer for Queen Mengmeng.”
A friend beside her immediately nodded in agreement, tears welling up as if she had found a long-lost sister.
The students of Class 1 felt the jealous, envious, and hateful stares from all around and proudly held their heads high.
Hmph. As long as Class 1 is here, you little brats can forget about taking our Mengmeng away.
The atmosphere on the sports field instantly grew heavy because of the fans’ swagger. Liu Menglu was long used to this situation.
She discreetly gave her class leader a look, telling her to calm everyone down, and a serious expression filled her porcelain-white face.
Before the sports meet even started, she had promised her classmates that she would lead their class to victory and win the school championship.
Since she had already made a promise, she wouldn’t break it. That’s why she signed up for the 1500-meter race, which offered the most points for first place.
Initially, she thought she would be the only one from her class participating in such a long-distance run, but she was surprised to find that Lu Yuting, who usually didn’t get along with her, had also joined the race.
Although Liu Menglu didn’t know the reason for her participation, as long as it brought honor to the class, they were all good classmates.
So, Liu Menglu specifically turned her head to Lu Yuting, who was standing next to her, and gave her a big smile.
As the school’s beloved goddess, Liu Menglu’s smile was as bright and dazzling as the sun. Whenever someone saw her smile, their heart felt as if it had been purified. Almost no one could resist her charm, but Lu Yuting, upon seeing the smile, was not happy at all. Instead, she showed a look of disgust.
“What are you smiling at? It’s disgusting. Don’t think I don’t know you’re mocking me. Hmph!”
Liu Menglu was stunned, a look of confusion in her watery blue eyes. Before she could react, she heard the referee’s whistle for “get set.”
Liu Menglu immediately focused. Her eyes were fixed on the front, and her sunny expression became serious. A sharp, unstoppable aura emanated from her, and the girls from the other classes on her left instinctively moved away.
BANG!
The starting gun went off, and Liu Menglu shot forward like an arrow released from a bow. Lu Yuting was startled by the gunshot and didn’t react immediately. By the time she started to run, she was already the last one.
She bit her lip hard and charged forward with big strides.
It’s all Liu Menglu’s fault!
