Chloe was unhappy, extremely unhappy!
This resulted in a massive aura of gloom surrounding her, causing every student who came near to shiver. They all quickly kept their distance from her.

Liu Menglu was exceptionally happy, with a constant stream of pink bubbles floating around her. She would glance at the perfectly postured Li Qiuyu one moment and the dejected Chloe the next, her gossipy eyes unable to hide her excitement.
Their second class that afternoon was P.E., and they were currently lining up on the track field. Because Chloe was one of the shorter students in the class, she stood at the front, while Liu Menglu and Lu Yuting, who were about the same height, stood at the back.
Lu Yuting occasionally glanced at the giddy Liu Menglu. Unable to ignore her anymore, she nudged her.
“What’s gotten into you today?”
Liu Menglu snapped back to reality after the bump. Hearing the question, she excitedly started to sell her new idea to Lu Yuting.
“Don’t you think our new transfer student and Chloe are a perfect match?”
Lu Yuting froze, then looked at Liu Menglu with a strange expression. She knew how inseparable Liu Menglu and Chloe were. Chloe’s possessiveness over Liu Menglu even seemed to go beyond the scope of friendship. Some students in the class were already saying that they were a couple. And now, one of the two people involved had directly defected?
Looking at the excited Liu Menglu, Lu Yuting was at a loss for words. She was about to ask what had happened when the P.E. teacher suddenly announced that the girls would be taking an 800-meter run test.
The announcement was met with a chorus of groans from the girls. However, Liu Menglu was unfazed and started doing her warm-up exercises.
Meanwhile, Li Qiuyu’s gaze was fixed on Chloe. Although she had deflected Chloe’s spear on the balcony, they hadn’t actually fought, so Li Qiuyu didn’t know the full extent of her strength. The 800-meter test, while nothing to a magical being, was a way to briefly gauge Chloe’s ability. Therefore, Li Qiuyu was looking forward to it, and her eyes remained locked on Chloe.
This caused Liu Menglu, who was keeping an eye on both of them, to once again bubble with excitement.
Lu Yuting had nothing left to say. She simply patted Liu Menglu on the shoulder and said with a serious tone, “You need to be more aware of things.”
Liu Menglu tilted her head, not quite understanding. Seeing Liu Menglu’s innocent expression, Lu Yuting sighed. They walked to the track. Lu Yuting had always had poor stamina, and the 800-meter run was pure torture for her.
At the P.E. teacher’s command, no matter how reluctant the girls were, they had no choice but to start running. Liu Menglu took the lead, with Li Qiuyu right behind her, neither one giving up. The P.E. teacher nodded in satisfaction. Li Qiuyu was surprised that Liu Menglu, an ordinary person, was not far behind her in speed. Although she wasn’t running at full speed, for a normal person, this was already remarkable.
Just as a hint of admiration rose in her heart, Li Qiuyu looked to her side. She expected Chloe to be right behind them. However, no one was there. She looked back and saw that most of the girls were far behind, trudging miserably. And even among that group, Chloe was nowhere to be found.
Li Qiuyu was stunned again. The P.E. teacher noticed her distraction and blew his whistle. Li Qiuyu had no choice but to continue running. When they were about to lap the other girls, she finally found Chloe at the very back of the group.
Chloe was leisurely and comfortably jogging with her little short legs, showing no sign of stress. She would even occasionally stop and walk when the teacher wasn’t looking.
This discovery shocked Li Qiuyu even more. Although their confrontation had been brief, she could tell that even if Chloe wasn’t a speed-type magical being, her speed should not be this slow.
Li Qiuyu frowned, thinking that something was amiss. She slowed down her pace to jog alongside Chloe. Chloe was short, and her long strides were no match for Li Qiuyu’s big steps. To match her pace, Li Qiuyu had to take tiny steps.
Liu Menglu had been running neck and neck with Li Qiuyu, but as Li Qiuyu slowed down, Liu Menglu instantly surpassed her. Liu Menglu was puzzled at first, but when she turned her head, she saw Li Qiuyu “inseparably” following Chloe.
A radiant “auntie smile” once again appeared on Liu Menglu’s face.
They really are true love, aren’t they?
The pink bubbles began to fill the air again. Meanwhile, in the middle of the pack, Lu Yuting looked at Chloe and the new transfer student running together, and then at Liu Menglu, who was oblivious to the fact that she was about to be replaced. She suddenly felt a sense of worry for her friend.
Chloe and Li Qiuyu, running side-by-side, were unaware of what the other girls were thinking. Li Qiuyu was still pondering why Chloe was running so slowly. Chloe, on the other hand, was so annoyed with Li Qiuyu that she wanted to speed up and finish the 800 meters as soon as possible.
But then, Chloe remembered that she was supposed to be experiencing “laziness.” The urge to run away from Li Qiuyu immediately subsided.
It’s fine. It’s just a little bit more to go. She’ll be done soon. There’s no need to let a person I dislike get in the way of my laziness experiment.
With that thought, Chloe leisurely finished the 800-meter run. Li Qiuyu ran an extra lap just to keep up with Chloe, but she didn’t mind. She still couldn’t figure out why Chloe was running so slowly.
Was there some sort of conspiracy? Should she investigate?
